Wonderful resort

Would highly recommend this resort. Excellent quality and variety of food. Very clean. Beaches are amazing. Staff are friendly and very professional. Entertainment including shows were absolutely fabulous.

Fabulous Resort

Extremely clean resort. Service was impeccable. Whatever you need they comply. Grounds were Beautiful, clean and enjoyable. Pool area very nice, entertainment was allot fun. The whole Team at Grand Bahia was Fantastic! Food, you will never starve here, it was incredible and very tasty! A must stay and will go back.

Big but great!!

This resort is absolutely gogeous! The vegetation of the grouds is out of this world. The food at the buffet is good, a lot of vaiety. Thr restaurannts A la carte: we ate at El Pescador, the Mikado (japanese), the Garden Grill and Il Cappricio...they wera all very good. The rooms are clean and a nice size. The main pool near the beach...WOW! The beach is very nice even though we had some seaweed that week..they cleaned it but it was hard to completely get rid of it...maybe it was because we had  [... read more]a lot of east wind all week. The workers were very friendly. The drinks...one word...yummmy!! It was a nice vacation...i would definitely go back!!

SImply Awesome

A beautiful and very well kept resort and I would go back again in a heartbeat. The food was good, lots of choice and the waiters were always there being helpful. The pools were spotless. The rooms were cleaned daily.

Best Resort

This hotel is teriffic. It is actually made up of 4 resorts. The beach is clean white sand with gentle waves coming in. Lots of lounges and chairs around the 2 pools at the beach. There are 2 other pools up towards the main lobby with restaurants all around the grounds. Also, it is only 30 minutes from the airport. We could find no fault with this place.

600 university students staying at GBP Punta Cana

We stayed in the Royal Golden Club of the GBP Punta Cana. The GBP is a resort that has 5 smaller resorts combined into one big resort. There is a total guest capacity of 5000 people. The size of the resort worked well for our family as we could chose to walk or take a trolley - the trolleys were constantly running and there was very little time to wait for one. The beach was a typical Punta Cana beach, although there were few chairs available in the shade. The pools were nice, we preferred the ' [... read more]quiet' pool and we didn't have a problem finding chairs at 9 am. The buffet restaurants served lots of food but the food that should be hot was almost always lukewarm. The restaurant service was ok, not great...it was often difficult to get someone to serve you a beverage. The grounds were very well cared for, although there was some damage done to the fences and restaurant decor by the university students staying there. The resort had a well marked 2.4km running track throughout the grounds which was very nice to have. I also used the gym which was small but well maintained and I didn't see anyone waiting more than a few minutes to use a machine. The entertainment was good, in addition to the main shows, there were bands or DJ'S in the lobby in the evening. The circus show was amazing! By far the worst thing about the resort was the 600 university students who stayed at the Punta Cana resort as part of 'Campus Vacations'. They were disuptive, inconsiderate and many used vulgar and disgusting language despite there being children around. They would wake us up at night usually at 3 am and 5 am as they were travelling to the beach snack bar. The GBP corporate office makes the decision to allow student groups onto their resorts and when I spoke to the on site coordinator of Campus Vacations, she said there will continue to be student groups at the resort from now (we traveled in February) until June. Despite the good features of this resort, the presence of the student group means that we will never travel to a GBP resort again in the future. The resort did not have enough security to control the rude and obnoxious behavior of many of the students.

Don't pay extra to go there

definitely not a 5 star as service was the pits. Grounds were nice, buffet good but had nothing but issues. Went to Cuba last year and found the people spoke much better English than DR xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Very Nice Resort

We went in early Feb. peak time, hadn't been to a resort at this time before. Lots of staff & very attentive to your needs, except the Resort was HUGE we got dropped off in our villa, they didn't take the time to tell us which trolly to get on, so we got lost that night & felt like we walked 10 miles. And the next morning was orientation & we got on the wrong trolly so got lost again & missed the orientation, oh & no map. We spent the whole week helping many people who were lost. We really enjoy [... read more]ed the buffet. We did 2 a la carte restaurants & were not impressed, it was so hard to get the reservation in the first place. Our biggest pet peeve was to get a chair either at the beach or the pool. People reserved a chair with a towel at 6:00 a.m. at both & never did use them. That part sucked. We had rain almost everyday, we were glad that we were on the 2nd floor since the people below us got flooded. They did provide umbrellas in the closet, except we had to ask twice to get one. Our maid Danielle was Great & our room was very clean. Oh & the last day they didn't have any beach towels, since it had rained & everybody traded their wet two for a dry one. Our travel agent suggested that we go with the Golden pkg. definitely not worth it suppose to get 4 reservations for restaurants, hard pressed to get a res. at all. Slippers in the room were the only perk that was nice. The rum in the room was Dominican so big deal. Would we go again no.

Beautiful Resort

We returned from this resort on Wednesday night. We had a great time. The resort is huge but the train service was easy and frequent. The a la cart restaurants were 5/5!! Book early to get your choices. The service was great and they treated you like you were important wven with the sheer number of people. There was something foe everyone at this resort!

Loved it!

Cleanest AI I have ever been to and lots to see and do everyday. Enjoyed the buffets over the al la cartes and the pools although the beach was awesome. I would go back here anytime and I NEVER go to the same place twice!

Amazing resort

Stunning grounds, nice clean rooms and great staff. The food was excellent and we had a great time. We had issues with our room key and door lock several times though, but staff eventually helped us out

Great resort with beautiful grounds, beach and service. Can't wait to go back. The staff was excellent and very accommodating. The rooms were beautiful and spacious. The resort was exceptionally manicured.

GREAT RESORT

GREAT TRIP RESORT WAS GOOD ,BEACH WAS GREAT,FOOD WAS GOOD STAFF WAS TOP NOTCH,RESORT WAS VERY LARGE,GREAT SERVICE AT ALL BARS,ROOMS WERE CLEAN AND WELL LOOK AFTER THERE WAS A FUNNY SMELL IN ROOMS A COUPLE OF TIMES.

Good resort !

The grounds were beautiful and well maintained by many staff. The public areas and bathrooms were clean. Our hotel room was good, clean and well maintained with all the amenities. The cleaning lady was nice and friendly near the end of our stay. All the other staff weren`t as friendly as the staff were in the resort that we stayed at in Cuba last year -- who acknowledged you every time they walked by you with a hello. Very nice week

The hotel grounds were beautiful. The food was excellent. The room was spacious and well kept. The Makaido served great sushi and the Italian restaurant was excellent too. Often on sight restaurants are a change of location only but these two offered unique menus with excellent food. The Mediterranean restaurant had great service but the food was not as good.

Fabulous!

Very clean, amazing people. Food was alright...maybe I'm just pickier than most. Big resort, with many places and things to do. Must get a beach chair early, or you won't be sitting at the beach. Water was gorgeous.

Beautiful Vacation!

Visited Punta Cana from January 6th to the 13th. Beautiful resort!!! Beach was wonderful! Staff was amazing! Enjoyed the a la Carte Restaurants a lot!!! Definitely recommend excursion to Saona island!

Fantastic resort

The resort was extremely clean. It is a larger resort however the trollies run so frequent that it's not an issue going back and forth. The food was very good. The room was spacious and clean. Entertainment was fun for both adults and children. The employees were always pleasant. Highly recommend for anyone to attend.

Best of the Best!!

This resort was simply "perfect". The people were the nicest on the planet, food was great and the grounds were spotless. Night life was always very entertaining and a good variety. The weather was 28 during the day, light rainfall at night. Flight was good, service on the plane was ample.

Misinformes

The hotel lounge and grounds were very nice. It was listed as a 5 star, But today's standards are far different then before when this hotel was built. Rooms were not equal to rating. We booked thinking we were going to recieve Royal treatment as we were informed by our agent, but this was not the case. We were not able to visit other Bahia resorts, however the accompanying resorts were able to come to ours which was slightly bigger, Because of all the other guest. It was always packed. I was sadly mislead by my agent and some of the print on their web site. Being a part of the royal golden club did not give us any advantages. It was embarassing. We turned our bracelets over... I actually saw lots Of ppl do the same. The tub was yellow:( If you speak the language it helps. The people do not seem to want to go over and beyond. Basic help at best. Except for the preformers. You can tell they train hard. They seem to enjoy what they do. We payed almost $3000. I don't have a money tree!! I spoke to the manager, she did help us. After lots of work on our part. We paid to relax not to discuss our room and other situations not worth mentioning. I guess I really expected 5 star. It felt like.... 2 star in a 3.5 star resort. With a 4.5 star lobby.
