We had the most amazing time of our life

The hotel was excellent. The setvice,the people and stuff was the best. The pool the beach was unbelievable. The food was more than we expected. We had some great tours too. The weather was very kind for the time we stayed.

Beautiful resort, beautiful country!

Hotel grounds kept up beautifully-gardeners out every day. Units updated as needed-painters on site. Food options tremendous-only the pickiest eaters would have trouble finding something to eat. My daughter is Celiac and had no issues with the food. Kitchen staff available for consultation re: food requirements if necessary. All staff consistently helpful, friendly and a pleasure to deal with. This was our 3rd visit to this hotel and I highly recommend it to everyone. Don't be put off by the dis [... read more]tance of the hotel from the airport. The 90 minute ride is a wonderful tour of the Cuban towns and countryside. I put my camera on record through the towns. Loved all the colurs on the houses and iron work on the windows and doors. Highly recommend the excursions available-day trip to Havana, tour of Remeidios/Santa Clara, catamaran.

Awesome resort...

This was our third time returning to Melia Las Dunas. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. No disappointments. The ocean was breath taking but September jellyfish visit. Our goal was to get some R & R and mission accomplished. Can't wait to return.

Great resort and friendly staff

We had a great time at the resort and would go back again. Everyone was very friendly and we met a lot of nice people while we were there. The staff were very professional and the service and food was very good.

Love this Resort and the staff!!!

Rooms are Good, the beach is spectacular, the selection of food and drinks are good. The entertainment will get you on your feet. Lots of space in the pools. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Some of the nicest people I have met to date are staff at this resort. I have been to Melia Las dunas TWICE and I plan to go back again and again!!!

Finally a week of summer

Had a great time , price was amazing ! Beach gorgeous , food good , rooms clean,pools fabulous and no people around ,. About 120 chairs at the pool and only 10 people , my kind of peace . Came home well rested and tanned

Unfortunately the Food does matter!

Melia was a nice enough resort. Large with lots of activity but and its a big but the food was ordinary at best. I really didn't think it would matter especially at the great price but it did to all of us (Family of 4). They need more kid foods for sure. If they had Chicken Nuggets my daughter was solved. A pizza bar using real pizza sauce not stewed tomatoes would be awesome. I can't say anything was terrible but I can tell you that because of the food we won't go back. Amazing resort for family

Everything was great. Except it was a bit big place. It took us 3 days to really orient ourselves between the lobby to the room beach or dining area. Excellent food with various choice. Beach was the best so far I have seen.

Amazing Resort!!!

This is an amazing resort and I truly enjoyed my stay there. The beach alone is fantastic, its close enough to walk and the water is pretty calm and clear.The hotel is a little far from the airport which was a little disappointing. The service here is great, all the staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel grounds are kept in great condition and is always clean.We had building 9 which is a little farther from the beach and the lobby but we enjoyed the walk. The rooms were cleaned everyday howeve [... read more]r, some of the bed sheets and towels were quite old and had stains on them. Apart from that, there was nothing to complain about for the rooms. I would suggest a room on the second floor to avoid the geckos and bugs. The food was good at the buffet. A great variety to choose from, but it can get boring since it's pretty much the same food everyday, with the exception of a few items. Sadly, there were no lobsters during our stay. There are many activities taking place throughout the hotel and there is something for everyone to enjoy such as the kids club, night performances, pool activities and more. Overall, I had an great time at this hotel and will definitely be coming back soon!

Amazing time, no complaints!

The hotel is quite large but everything you need is easily assessible. the beach is stunning and the whole resort is well maintained. It is good for couples as there is a quieter side as well as for families. At first we weren't sure about the service but once we found the people we liked and they got to know us we couldn't have been happier!

Ok, but resort requires some over due maintenance. Such as broken or missing ceramics in one of the pools,light fixtures and windows in dining area requires cleaning,and generally a good coat of paint.

Great resort!

Beach is amazing. I like the separation between adults swimming pool and family swimming pool. Nice rooms, clean and spacious. Overall well kept resort, great service. I like that there is a bank open during the day to get your pesos.

Great holiday in an aging resort

We stayed at this resort in June, 4 of us ranging in age from 19 to 57. Beach was breathtaking, pool was beautiful but signs of aging all around the resort. Food wasn't as good as other Cuban resorts we had stayed at previously. Staff was courteous and friendly but we could tell it was off-season, some restaurants not open, grounds not as spotless as we expected. Evening entertainment was somewhat tedious, we expected more. This has the potential to be a lovely resort, but it needs a serious injection of money to bring it back up to 4 star standards.

Lovely resort....way too much smoking-Everywhere

Lovely property, pools, beach. Customer service ladies were very helpful. Restaurants were pretty good.. Enjoyed the food and beer selection at the Beer Garden ... Ice cream shop next door for kids... All good! The only complaint we have is that there were no smoking restrictions anywhere. Beach and pool areas, walkways all littered with butts, smokers totally inconsiderate of non-smokers and child areas.... Would light up as soon as 1 foot left the restaurant.

Great vacation

Accommodations were excellent, staff were wonderful and the beaches were breath taking. Food was not the greatest but there was a large variety so you never were hungry. Nightly shows were entertaining.

We love the Melia resorts...visited MLD twice!!

Lobby and public areas are well kept. The lobby bar is great entertainment in the evenings. Great place to have fancy coffee drinks. Friendly bartenders and wait staff. Rooms are average and very clean. Beach is beautiful and goes on and on for long walks. You can book 3 a la carte restaurants per 7 day stay. Restaurants were fantastic and the buffet was great. Staff get to know you as a regular. There's an adult side and a family side. Not always guaranteed to get a room on the adult side. Appr [... read more]ox 1.5 hr bus ride from airport which is enjoyable as you drive through the residential areas.

Great room amazing beach choice of good food

this was our 4th time in Cuba different place each time but this was by far the best food we have ever experienced in this amazing country, in fact better than many other countries we have been to. We would definitely return any time.

OK vacation

Grounds were beautiful! Rooms were adequate -- served the purpose. bed was decent and AC worked which was a bonus. Beach was gorgeous!! A la carte restaurants were good as well -- buffet was to be expected did not really like that the pool bar was in the shade for the majority of the day -- not able to get much sun sitting at the bar. some of the bar tenders were rude, would not get you the drink you asked for -- also always had to wait long to even get served! they would look in you direction a [... read more]nd then walk away -- was definitely not impressed with this! honestly we would not go back to this resort

Great resort!

Overall the resort was amazing. There were some faults - like the resort was so large we never saw half of it. My advise for the first day: get a map and explore - take advantage of everything the resort has to offer! Great entertainment and the beach was beautiful!
