Nice resort

My sister and I had a wonderful time at this resort . Staff were very friendly and always asked if we were enjoying our stay . The only thing I didn't care for was smelly carpeting in hallway . Otherwise the resort was great !

Nice Resort!

Although this resort is very large the food and grounds were excellent. One thing we found while staying is that if you miss breakfast there is nothing to eat until lunch is served. Staff were very friendly and always willing to please. Plan your routes accordingly and be sure to book your a lacartes first thing as they fill up fast or so we were told. Our room was on floor 7 in building 13 which is in the center of the resort over looking the pool. Beach was ok but no bar close. Excellent resort

The grounds are well kept, the beach clean The rooms are actually like they look on line , nice and comfortable food was good, drinks were nice and cold the a la carte restaurant are excellent The staff was very helpful

Great resort

Nice rooms just a little tired, great view and awesome food. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our only complaint was the elevator. We were on the 7th floor and the one elevator was soooo slow.

Great resort

Went with my grandson in April and loved the resort. Grounds were beautiful, the food was good, and the beach was greAt for kids.On the negative side they run out of drinks in bars, all carpets in hallways are filthy, and you have to ask for face cloths. All in all great resorts for families but for couples I would suggest somewhere else.

Great Quality Value!!

Great value as it is a 4.5 resort with 3.5 prices. Food, rooms, pool, and beach outstanding. Staff curtious and helpful but remember you are on a Caribbean resort not a big city hotel so be patient and smile and you will be treated like royalty.

Great Family Resort

The resort had beautiful grounds and staff were very welcoming upon arrival. We travelled with 3 year old and 8 month old and were very pleased at the amenities offered for our family. Beach: We spent a lot of time at the waterpark and the beach. The water was a little rocky but didn't hinder our experience at all and learned easily where to situate to avoid rocks and wade in sandy bottom. Lots of shade on the beach too. The only compliant is the carpet in hallways has seen better days and probably should go. We had a great balcony and location was perfect in the 18000 section. Food: The food at the buffet was ok. We always found a few good things to eat but did become repetitive at times. We always found variety that suited everyone in the party. We tried 3 of the specialty restaurants...Italian, Teppanyaki, French. We had much better meals at these restaurants and would highly recommend any of them. Drinks: Not all bars were properly stocked but was always able to get a drink. They had lots of options and found no issue. Entertainment: As we had young kids we didn't see much of nighttime entertainment. We did the limbo night and beach party through the kids club and they were fun. We tried doing beach Olympics. The staff were good with kids but seemed a bit disorganized. Lots of waiting to decide what to do next. We would recommend this to other families with young kids.

Excellent Vacation

Great vacation! The staff were very friendly,accommodation was modern and clean and the food/drinks were great. The beach area was sheltered from the waves and well marked to avoid deep or rocky areas. The pools had great swim up bars and the wait time wasn't too long at the bar. We appreciated that there were several security guards to stop locals from coming up onto beach and selling trinkets to the tourists. The Japanese teppanyaki was excellent! We had no issues whatsoever and they had plenty of staff at the airport/resort to ensure you had a good stay. One thing that the hotel could have done better was replace shampoo, soap, conditioner etc every day as opposed to upon request.

Great resort

The ground of this resort was very well kept. The food was excellent lots of choices. I found that there was a lot of entertainment each night! The room was really nice and large and they were well kept! Overall I would highly recommend this resort

Exceptional Time

We had an incredible time. The resort was large enough to offer many areas to enjoy but not so large that walking it was a chore. We highly recommend the beach front towards the left of the property (when facing the water). It is a semi-private oasis that had it's own bar and jerk chicken service. The staff were exceptional and went above and beyond to offer service and make us feel exceptionally welcome. I have traveled to many all inclusives and this was by far one of my favourites. We where very happy with our stay at the Grand Bahia Principe.

Very nice resort, clean & plenty of entertainment. The Grand Bahia side has more to offer than the Luxury side. Not worth spending the extra money. Good food. The employees are amazing. If you like long walks on the beach this one is beautiful but short lived, & about shoulder deep, very rocky. Has a private nude beach, great for snorkelling, lots of reefs.

Great Resort!

This Resort has everything a family on vacation needs! There are things however which could be improved: - room safe should be free of charge as it is almost everywhere else the case - Wifi should be free and hotelwide. This is basically standard these days. - cosmetics (shampoo/ shower gel) should be refilled on a regular basis

Great family resort

Great time was had by all myself wife and our two girls 4&8 we had an amazing time. We brought blow up floating water toys and many beach toys shovels and Pails. Up graded to the royal golden, got us a top floor room and bottle of rum free safe for the week, beach towels in our room and 4 dinners at the restaurants. Definitely worth the money, people on lower levels had issues with mosquitoes, we didn't see any. We loved the time on the beach and time at the water park!! Pool was gradual [... read more]ly sloping in the children's area. Resort is getting a little long in the tooth, dress code isn't really enforced. We tipped big and was rewarded for it. If you see keyno in the buffet, ask where he is serving... great service!!

Amazing Resort

Hotel was extremely hygienic, very friendly staff, amazing food. Their drinks and cocktails; delicious! They had a kids club, which kept the kids entertained on the poolside and evening time. I'm writing this review on behalf of my friend Atrn, since I booked the trip for our group. Thanks to tripcentral.ca We had an amazing trip, we'll be visiting Grand Bahia Pricipe again, that's a sure thing! Nahren Albelaty

Jamaica vacation

Very nice resort, a little too big for me, lots of walking and stairs, don't like the daily fee for room safe. Buffet there is good and a la carte restaurants are very good,beach is good. Overall a good resort to go on vacation, lots to do for a cost, people very friendly.

Very very impressed with everything that they had to offer

I would definitely go back, the food was fantastic the entertainment was fantastic the waitresses at cleaners the bartender's everybody was simply amazing. The beach was so clean and beautiful I loved the village ,the entertainment in the evening they had.. I love me excursions they where fantastic it was the best trip ever.

Beautiful but!!

This resort is absolutely beautiful.the rooms,view,grounds,beach is amazing.but,the tv and hairdryer did not work in my sons room.he was moved to a different room because we booked king bed rooms and he was given a room with 2 double beds.in our room the toilet ran continuously.we phoned 3 times about the toilet.it ran all day and all night.all week.asked for an extension cord for my husbands cpat breathing machine.it took 4 phone calls,2 nights and then we had to go y the front desk to try to g [... read more]et one.he could stop breathing without it.the a la cart restaurants were really good.beautiful place but please fix things that are broken

Great time

Hotel staff are very gracious. Our son has a peanut allergy and this resort is the best resort we have been to for managing peanut allergies. Beach is so great with warm water, and lots of room in the water. Close to a number of great excursions options.

Below Average Resort

I would like to start by saying that this was our 4th visit to Jamaica in the past ten years and our first stay at The Bahia. We have stayed at other hotels that are in the same class as the Bahia. Positives about the Bahia: - The grounds are well kept - The pool is large and the area is nice - The resort is kept clean - The Beach (although man made) is quite nice The negatives of the resort : - The food and drink supply - they were out of essentials needed to make drinks for the [... read more] entire duration of our stay which really limited what drinks we could order. We have not experienced this anywhere else previously. - We sat down at an a la carte at 7:00 pm and did not receive our main course until about 10:00 pm. - They ran out of wine at the a la cartes or refused to pour a second glass. Throughout the stay, we were under the impression that the resort intentionally offered sub par service, hoping that you would pay more to upgrade to the Luxury side. It was almost like the resort chose to operate in the manner, it did not seem like the servers were intentionally offering poor service because they appeared to be doing their best. As I mentioned, we have been to Jamaica numerous times, have always enjoyed the people and the country but this resort was below expectations (and our expectations were not very high). We are all pretty easy going people and have experienced slow service but this visit to the Bahia left a bad taste in our mouths and although we will likely return to Jamaica, we will not stay at the Bahia. We made the most of the holiday because at the end of the day we were on vacation and out of the cold but there were a lot of people not satisfied with the resort. It was the first time we had been to Jamaica where we left feeling we did not get value for the price.
