Needs some up-keep

Pool and bar and food staff were great, but the rooms need some TLC as well as some up grades. The beach was good but all the chairs were taken by 8am. Day time Entertainment staff didn't get things going like pool volleyball and any beach games.

Nice Resort

This was a lovely resort, a bit on the older side, but the grounds were always clean and the rooms were clean as well. The staff and grounds people were awesome and loved that they greeted you every day. The food was good, always something to eat at the buffet. We did 2 restaurants and I can't even complain about either. The only thing I would complain about is that there was not enough shade at the pool, but otherwise, it was great. Decent food, great entertainment

The hotel was clean, all the staff were great. The hotel rooms were okay, a/c didn't seem to keep the room cold enough. Food was decent, good selection. The entertainment each night was amazing, the Michael Jackson show was by far the best. But other than the dancers there wasn't much for entertainment after 10-11. All you could do was sit in the snack bar, with no music. There is karaoke once a week but still, seemed like you had to make your own party.

Very nice resort.

The pool and beach area was clean and well equipped with chairs etc. The overall staff were very friendly and helpful. The room fridge was barley cold enough to keep purchased beer and water cool. Overall nice resort.

Beautiful beach

We were 11 days in Paradise at this hotel April 9 to 19. The room was great for what we need and everything worked well. Also, we got a crib for our baby. Excellent staff, very helpful and friendly, good choice and quality of food, activities and evening shows. Beach was awesome!!! We had a fabulous time and the service, facilities and entertainment were outstanding!

Perfect for some R&R!

This was my first trip to Cuba and I didn't really know what to expect. I have travelled extensively throughout Europe and mainly holidayed in Spain and Portugal...Cuba did not disappoint. I was blown away at how nice the Cuban people are. They are truly humble and kind people, just lovely. Our hotel was more than adequate and our room, though a little dated was very clean. The air conditioner worked perfectly and our room was quiet with a balcony looking out over the water. Our maid Dayamy was a sweetheart and always made sure our room was clean and tidy. Everyday she left us a fresh bottle of water in the mini fridge and surprised us with fancy little towel and blanket designs folded into hearts with flowers entertwined..so sweet. The grounds of this resort are very nice and the gardeners are so pleasant and always greet you with a friendly smile and a "Hola". We went on an excursion to the main town of Moron and it was like we had stepped back in time. Old cars and pastel coloured buildings. I asked our tour guide what the crime rate was like as we disembarked the bus to go touring around as we were women travelling alone and he told me that there was no crime rate!...(apart from crimes of passion) that was very reassuring as when in Europe you always need to be very wary of pickpockets etc. The beach at this resort was GORGEOUS! We walked along the boardwalk on that first day and we were blown away with the colours of the ocean and the sky..so breathtakingly beautiful. Our only complaint regarding the beach area is that they could do with a few more loungers. (The Diamond Club lounge area was empty most days though) By the time we had had breakfast and headed back to our room to change into beach attire, most of the loungers had been spoken for and we had to scrounge around for 4 singles so we could all be together. I guess if you get up early and mark your territory with a beach towel you would be okay, but we couldnt be bothered. The bar at the beach is great..don't forget to bring your BUBBA! There are also snacks..burgers, hotdogs, pizza and grilled cheese and ham sandwiches. (I recommend the latter..). If none of these choices appeal to you and the buffet isn't open you can go to the snack bar and get yummy fries or a sandwich. So now we are on the subject of food...something that is close to everyones heart...the buffet is fine. I am not an over picky person so I will always find something to eat. Breakfast was my biggest challenge though. There is an abundance of food, and it all looks wonderful, but it didn't really appeal to my palate. There is also an omellete station and a pancake station. Neither of which I liked. I also try not to eat bread so that limited my choices. However, a couple of hard boiled eggs went a long way for me. I was also surprised at how limited the fruit choices were. In a tropical country I expected the pineapple and mango etc. to be abundant, but this is obviously not the case...(perhaps its because everything is so natural and produced without chemicals?) Lunch and dinner was much better for me and there is always delicious roast chicken and salad so you definitely won't starve! There are 4 restaurants at this hotel which can be booked on arrival. (we were allowed 3) the Asian was wonderful, the Mediterranean was great and the Italian restaurant was right on the beach which was so nice. There is also a Cuban restaurant. There is a coffee bar which makes wonderful Spanish Coffees (with Brandy). Also beside the pool there is an ice-cream shack..very yummy! They have pretty much thought of everything. The entertainment at this resort is mainly dancers...cute..but when you've seen it once you've seen enough. This is a relatively quiet resort and is very suitable for families and older people. We were normally in bed by midnight. I have teenage daughters (who were not with me on this trip) and they would have been bored. So if you want to party or dance ..then go to Varadero. (There is a disco at this resort, but it was never open). So to conclude this review..I will be returning to Memories Caribe, Cayo Cocco...when I need to recharge my batteries. GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY!

Review of Memories Caribe

I liked this resort. It was just a perfect size for my preference. the Beach is about the best I have ever seen. There are some small things that I would like to see improve...the beds and bedding leave a bit to be desired, I'd like to see cleaner sheets, pillow cases and bed spreads. Their towel system isn't great. we didn't get clean towels every day. The beach towel system isn't great either. They should have a "card" system, where you can get a fresh towel in exchange for a card.

Beautiful beach!

Amazing beach, friendly staff, food not too bad for Cuba. We enjoyed the Cuba restaurant as well the fresh pizza on the beach. Only small complaint was that it was impossible to exchange beach towels.

Great family resort

The beach at memories Caribe is one of the most beautiful I've been to. You could walk for miles when the tide was out. A few annoyances like the bank not having small change, their credit card machine being broken for most of our visit and it being impossible to rent a scooter, despite them being on offer. However, none of that took away from the experience as a whole - decent food, amazing staff and entertainment, beautiful grounds and that beach!

OMG!!!!!! IT WAS SO AMAZING, FELT LIKE A DREAM,

I felt like I was in a dream, the palm trees, coconut trees, the ocean view, Beach words cannot describe my experience at Memories Caribe. The service was great, the food was fabulous and delicious tried different foods. The BEACH was beautiful something I would only see on brochures, love walking the sandbar when tied was out and swimming in the ocean , entertainment & bar on sight at the beach, the hotel was very nice and loved how everything is opened and also looks like a little village, I very enjoyed my stay at the Memories Caribe , I would like to say OMG!!!!!! that was the best , I dream and click my heels hoping to be there again. I WOULD GO AGAIN TO MEMORIES CARIBE ((it was a trip I would never forget ))

Fantastic Resort

Food, beach and service was great...homemade pizza, fresh fish, shrimp and mussels...great. The beach was the best part...when the tide went out there was a sandbar that you could walk on for over a mile

An okay resort

We thought the resort was alright. The grounds were nice closest the main entrance. Otherwise there was garbage. There were pigs and dogs on the grounds and I personally didn't feel comfortable. Two grounds men were carrying machetes and a dead pig. It was disturbing. I wouldn't return to the Resort.

Home away from home

We stayed at Memories Caribe Feb 22-Mar2 2015. This was our second visit to this resort. The staff at this resort are simply amazing!! The friends we met while at this resort in Sept 2014 were all still working at the resort and it was so nice to be welcomed with warm smiles and hugs and kisses upon our arrival. Caribe is a short bus ride away from the airport, and check in is done on the bus which is very convenient. We had requested a room in building 17 with a king bed and a balcony and these [... read more] requests were met. The rooms could use a fresh coat of paint but they are very clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable. We never had any issues with hot water. The beach is amazing and we were fortunate to have a low tide day so we could go for a long walk on the sandbar. The pizza at the beach was delicious. Food at the buffet for breakfast and dinner was just fine. We had lunch at the beach or snackbar and never went hungry. Our a la carte dinners at the Mediterranean and Asian restaurants were fantastic. A trip to Pilar beach is highly recommended. The layout of the resort is great, very easy to get around and just a short walk from the main area to the beach. Overall I love this resort because of the staff and the beautiful beach. I look forward to returning again.

Had a great time!

Visited this resort Feb 19-26. Had a great time. I have visited Tryp and Iberostar Mojito in Cayo Coco, and would rate this resort higher in regards to food quality and quality of rooms. This resort is well maintained. The people are so genuine and aim to please! The drinks were much better here than the other two resorts! The employees here go above and beyond to make sure you are happy....so refreshing! Would definitely recommend this resort and will return if I decide to revisit a resort! Great Vacation

Had a wonderful trip from check in to check out. The only bad part was leaving! Resort staff was amazing, grounds were beautiful, food was tasty and activities made the trip that much more exciting!!!

7 days at Memories Caribe on Cayo Coco

Got to the hotel later in the evening and was presented with a nice fruit drink. Quick sign in and then was taken but cart to our room, didn't have to left a bag. Got to the room and it felt a little warm and found out later the the AC wasn't working and right away they moved us right away and again they moved use with a cart and didn't have to left a bag. the next day the shower head fell apart and we told a maid and it was fixed well we were out. The rooms were clean and liked that we got a la [... read more]rge bottle of water everyday. The staff at the snack were amazing couldn't get a better bunch of guys. The entertainment staff was amazing as well. The day time activities where right fun to watch and partake in. The dinning hall was always full but you could find a place to sit right away. The food was good in the dinning hall. Always had water or a coffee with milk for you at lunch, dinner and fresh juice in the morning. The snack bar was good if you didn't feel like going to the dinning hall for dinner (hotdogs, fries, hamburgers). The pool area was nice and clean a few birds that would fly around and pick up the food that was on the ground but not that bad. Could of had a few more spots for shade. The beach was very nice, always had a place to sit. I got bite in a few spots because of the sand flies. The last day my group got a late check out, asked for a bellboys but he didn't show so we had to take our bags to the lobby. The send off was great. They play music, dance it's was very nice. I had a great time and I'm going to tell everyone to go to Memories Caribe Beach Resort. See you all next year.

Great resort! Amazing staff!!

Resort was well set up, with all of the necessities. Make sure you pack extra toilet paper or something, as the washrooms did not always have TP, but we made due. Nice pool area near the snack bar. Good entertainment for adults and kids both day and night. Rooms were clean. The beach was magnificent! Sometimes hard to get chairs, but we still managed, as there were 6 of us. Was good!!

this resort was good, the grounds were well kept and the ground keepers were great with the kids, house keeping was not bad not always the cleanest but it was ok, the food was not what I expected but we always managed to find something to eat even though the choices were limited!! the personel all in all were amazing jose from the Cuban restaurant was one of our best and yohmina (joey) in charge of the kids club was a real sweetheart not to forget Robin at the pool bar another great guy!! well w [... read more]orth the price!!

Nice resort! Clean , nice people!!

I want to say that we met some very nice people that work there! Joy with the childrens was bery good, and El Chino at the snack bar by the pool was amazing !!! Even tho the weather got breezy. It was a very nice week and the beach is not wide but very nice! Snacks right at the beach and bar very good!

Wonderful Resort

The resort was well maintained, clean and the people were wonderful. The beach was amazing. The food....well it is Cuba...but the buffet hot serve could have been at the very least warm. I would recommend the hotel, with advice to eat what is made in front of you or the a la carte only.
