Wyndham Alltra Samana: Dissapointing overall

The beach has a beautiful view, but overall the resort has got so prioritized to making sure you are aware of which area is available for only Select or Privledge patrons, that it spoils the overall vacation. The small pool, which cannot be used by the Deluxe room customers now, use to be our favorite area to spend time in, and we noticed that less then half of the chairs around this small pool, were ever occupied. They have lost a lot of the English speaking guests, mostly French and German  [... read more], spoke now. We have visited this resort 6 times in the last 10 years, and now, will not be going back again, because of the changes in privledges of guests, according to what room you book. Deborah did promise us an voucher for 100 dollars, which we never have received.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Perfect week!

We always stay with Bahia Principe, and Samana area is our favourite part of Dominican. We loved this resort. Food was terrific with a lot of variety all week. Beach is stunning and the snorkeling, right on the beach, is awesome. A couple days of wind stirred up the sand but the rest of the week was crystal clear. Highly recommended.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Nice resort

The resort is really clean, good food, nice rooms, long walking beach, beautiful staff willing to help in anyway. We tried all the specialty restaurants and liked them all. My favourite was the gourmet restaurant.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Almost perfect

Luxurious, well-maintained, scrupulously clean property. Wonderful staff. Food is plentiful, varied, and beautifully presented. Ranges in quality from superb to not-so-great, but is mostly quite good. Definitely no worries about bacteria or parasites. Pools and beach are terrific. Beds are a little on the hard side.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Wonderful experience and great resort

We enjoyed our room so close to all the amenities. We could listen to the music from our patio. We were concerned about noise there but at 11 pm all was quiet. Maid service was great and never did we need to wait for them to clean the room. They seem to work around our schedule and rooms were cleaned when we got back. So grateful to Josephina that she ensured we had our drinks ready prior to dinner. Alta Gracia was an amazing woman. Always entertaining. Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Great

The hotel was great but should highlight the stairs in the lobby better. My husband, who is disabled fell down them and I also saw two other people fall. If you walk up the stairs, you see the signs but there are no signs that there is a step going down. The lighting in the lobby was poor. I saw one guy slip and fall, and not one person from the hotel came to assist him. Cayo Levantado Resort: Heaven on earth!

This place was heaven for us. Great food, great pools (beach was small with big waves), rooms were super clean and big. Lots of lounge chairs at the beach and pools. But what stood out the most was the service. Everyone had a smile on their face and worked very hard to please us. This was our second time there. Cayo Levantado Resort: Amazing resort

Thank you for a wonderful week long experience. 1. We found the all Staff & happy to look after us through out our vacation. 2. Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Nice resort for first all inclusive vacation

The vacation was great. Only issues which cannot be changed are weather and location Food was great and so was the service. Entertainment could be better however we had a wonderful vacation. I will be returning in the future.

Bahia Principe Grand Samana Roulette: Second time to this Resort and enjoyed it very much again

Very beautiful area and the grounds are lovely also. The Hotel was very clean and well looked after. We found the Staff very friendly and helpful especially Laura at the desk who went out of her way to find us the right room.

Cayo Levantado Resort: VERY QUIET

This hotel is on a beautiful island . It is very windy and not much opportunity to swim in ocean but amazing to look at There is no swim up bar, no music and very little going on All hotel bars and restaurants are closed at 11:00 pm so if you like to stay up and party on your vacation, this is not the place

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Beautiful Resort

Hospitality was excellent. Great employees. Food was excellent for all inclusive, lots of options. A la cartes were great! Red wine was good. Fantastic view from our room in main building. Room 317 - Thanks Danny! A lot of walking/stairs, but there were shuttles available as well. Wifi only in lobby was too limited. Also needed more seating in lobby to accommodate people wanting to use Wifi. Would have been better if Wifi available in rooms. Entertainment was very good as well.  [... read more] I like the idea that lounge chairs were not to be held/reserved (signs posted.) Chairs were always available when needed.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Beautiful scenery and grounds

Staff were extremely courteous and accommodating. Food was outstanding with a large variety. Beverages were well prepared. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous. On the negative side, our arrival was horrible. After travelling in a mini van with not enough seats for all the passengers for well over an hour and then being deposited at the check in on the mainland, we waited almost another hour for the ferry transport to the resort. The staff at the mainland handed us a bottle of water. Th [... read more]ere isn't even a bar on the mainland. After a very rough boat ride we finally arrived at the resort. We left our home 12 hours earlier. With a later than anticipated arrival we didn't receive the welcome drink, hot towel or even an explanation of the resort that all other guests received. After being dropped at our room in the dark neither of our keys would open the door and we just waited at the door for our luggage to arrive and someone to assist us. We attempted to order a drink and some food from room service and were told that the bar was closed and room service would arrive in 45 minutes. After an hour and a quarter we called and they made excuses that they were busy. When the food arrived, it was not what we had ordered, was extremely cold and old (reheated hamburger on a dried out bun) and not edible. Obviously, our first impression was not good. On the second last day of our vacation, service was almost non-existent. We didn't receive our turn down service and evening room tidying with fresh bath towels for the morning (our last day). Food at the buffet was not replenished more than an hour before closing and staff was much less attentive to the guests. It seemed that most of the guests left on Friday and therefore the resort was understaffed (perhaps many had the day off). This resort is a considerable distance from the Samana airport and requires transport via ferry which adds additional transportation time. We were required to leave the resort on our return more than 5 hours prior to our flight time.

We arrived at 3.30 pm room not ready till 5.00 pm , Hotel management no help Buffet food very cold Ask for money exchange at front desk got the run around for 3 days before I could get but only 100.00 peso . Only one bar open for guest the front bar was only for the buffet staff Management staff very un friendly Will not return to this resort Poor service at this hotel And the weatjet rep. NOT HELPFUL

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: the worst resort I've been to

the reception area very small nothing but a long hallway . The staff in reception very oncoperative and rude you go and ask for change and they never have any or tell you to come back at at certain time and the same thing no change and they will not change canadian money. They have two public washrooms cleaned once a day not very clean and never having tissue. The buffet restaurant has very little choice in food and always cold. The rooms cleaned not before 4 and the shower never cleaned in the  [... read more]2 weeks we were there. The first 3 days the fridge was never stocked and when we called there answer was it's not the cleaning that fill the fridge which was incorrect because it was the cleaning staff which we saw. The staff barely speak english you have a hard time communicating with them. It rained the whole time we were there my husband was covered in bug bites.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Lovely week

The Grand Bahai Principe El Portillo was beautifully maintained and all Service was excellent. We enjoyed the Main Buffet food and Beach Buffet, lots of selection and very fresh. Air Canada flights & transfers were great and the Rep at the Resort was excellent. The only complaint from us was the male cat spraying on table and chair legs in the beach restaurant.

First of all when you arrive to this resort you are welcomed by the staff dancing and given a welcome drink which is a nice touch and you definitely feel welcomed. The views surrounding resort is stunning of Samana Bay and town. The staff are amazing on this resort. So efficient and friendly and hardworking. Can't say enough about them. They truly made our trip. The resort itself is beautiful. Very clean and pretty. The food and drinks were great. Big selection and very tasty. The only negative  [... read more]thing about resort is the beach. Very small and Stoney, not soft sand and the ocean is brown. Not the typical turquoise water we are use to seeing in the Caribbean. So because of this you can't really snorkel. Don't see any fish. As well because the resort is on a cliff, anywhere you need to go has many stairs. There is an elevator to beach which is nice but to get down to the restaurant that is open when buffet isn't, it's 150 plus stairs down. There are little golf carts that they can take u down but very few far between to get one. Besides these couple things the resort was fantastic. We really did have a great time!!!!

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Great resort!!

This resort is really amazing. Rooms are clean, food is great, people are nice and the beach is beautiful. This was our fourth time at this Hotel and we just love it. The only thing that we were disappointed about is that there was a lot of kids this year, don't get me wrong we love kids we have three but we were not expecting to see so many.

Bahia Principe Grand Samana Roulette: Lovely resort

We just returned from our Anniversary celebrations in Samana. We had booked the Roulette option, so we did not know until we arrived at the airport, which resort would be ours. We were taken to the El Portillo. Everything was great, even the weather. Staff was excellent, food was great, no complaints. The only drawback was the flight - Air Canada Rouge. But the wonderful time at the resort made it all worthwhile.

The Bahia Samaná was glorious. Once we settled into our correct rooms we started to enjoy our trip. The food was the best ever experienced at an all inclusive.the staff were super friendly and helpful in every part of the resort. The beach is small and most people save chairs with palapa early but bathing in the sea was marvellous but could get rough. We had a great time
