Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres: Great Restaurants & Service
We just returned from a 7 days stay at this large resort 12/20-12/27, 2018 . Be prepared to walk to get to just about anywhere from your room. The best part of this resort are the restaurants in the Village Area of the grounds.
We stayed in Bldg. 16 which is the main Grand Palladium Tower (4 stories), Main Lobby, Lobby Bar and Buffet all on the ground floor. My wife and I were in room 16229 (King Bed) and our adult children in 16430 (2 Dbl. Beds). Large suites, well appointed and decorated both[... read more] had Courtyard Views with plenty of sun shine.
The most notable part of this resort were it's Restaurants. The service was great as was the menu offered, standard al ecarte service; do not expect BIG PORTIONS. All the restaurants serviced a very elegant plate, well presented and tasteful. If you really like to eat big portions go to the Buffet, the food there is just a good as what is available at the Village Restaurants. Only one place for Breakfast and that is at the Buffet in the main Bldg.; long waiting time to be seated if you are not an early riser. The TRS Hotel also on the same property have their own restaurants; guest there can also use the ones in the Village and they can also book reservations to all restaurants. Those guest in the Palladium wings are only allowed to make reservation to the Japanese Restaurant the rest are a first come first serve.
Shuttles both land and water are at times necessary to use regardless of the building that you are in. The grounds are not designed for guest that have mobility issues. Very few ramps if any to get over steps etc. In the evening the grounds are not very well lit. The Main Pool really needs a second bar and toilet facilities opposite the existing Swim-up bar.
The back of the house (that's the part as guest we do not see) needs to be more attentive to the details when it comes to cleanliness of plates and cups, utensils and linens. Nothing worse than finding lip stick stains on your cup, stained utensils and plate settings.
This resort is new, opened in November 2018. I can understand that it is going through it's growing pain stages and I trust that things will improve as it matures. Give The Grand Palladium Costa Mujures a couple of years to have a real Paradise feel.
Workers continue to finish walkways, landscaping, hardscape (paths) etc... to the grounds and Bldgs. The over-all finish to the resorts appears to have been rushed to make the grand opening date.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: 30th Anniversary Celebration
Had a fantastic time celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary with our two adult sons (21 & 24). We picked this resort for the size and amount of activities. We weren't disappointed: did water aerobics in the ocean with Rolando (super instructor and engaging), tried Archery for the first time with Power Man (excellent teacher, very patient), fun time playing pool and Foosball at the Sports Bar, also enjoyed kayaking, stand up paddle board and snorkeling (note: $30 usd deposit required for snorke[... read more]ling - fully refunded upon return of equipment).
All restaurants were great but thoroughly enjoyed Chef Ching Ching for teppanyaki. We couldn't stop laughing. He got everyone involved and excited for dinner. If you would like to try it, this is the only meal that requires a 2 day reservation. Also, FYI, the Sports Bar is open 22hrs a day in case you need a late night snack.
Every night there was new evening entertainment at both the theatre and the Infinity bar. We really enjoyed the Michael Jackson show and had a blast at karaoke.
The pools and beaches were very clean, many Palapas for shade and always available seating. Daily activities at the pool and beaches: yoga, dance lessons, bar-tending lessons and beach volleyball. Note: You receive a towel card when you check in, exchange them for towels at the various towel huts. You can exchange those towels for new towels whenever.
We had two rooms in building 26. They were both well appointed, well stocked and very clean. Note: as this building is beside the theatre and pool, you heard the Infinity bar entertainment until midnight. So, if you would prefer a quieter stay, ask for a building further away. However, if you like to be close to everything, this is the perfect building.
We also did a family photo shoot with Orane. He was very professional and had a great eye for detail. Our photos were fantastic, couldn't ask for better. Note: After your photo shoot and once you pay, you receive your photos that day! This should also be booked 2 days in advance in case of weather.
Couldn't have asked for a better vacation, all the staff were exceptional (always smiling, helpful and provided excellent service). Would definitely recommend this resort to anyone.

TRS Yucatan: One of the best resorts that we ever had been.
The resort is beautiful , very stylish and classy. Extremely well maintained.
What makes this resort so special is their staff. Everybody is so kind, professional and very had working.
My family enjoyed the free access to all resort bars and restaurants located at TRS Yucatan Hotel and the Grand Palladium Mayan Riviera complex.
Our favorites restaurants were the Helous and the Italian.
The Alcoholic beverages are very good quality, which is hard to find in other resorts.
The night [... read more]entertainment is amazing. The dancers and the singers are so talented. We definitely will return to this resort.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Great family holiday
The accomodations were good, although bathroom could have been cleaner. Entrance door to bedroom was difficult to open, and the bed too soft for our licking. TV transmission was not great. Great balcony for relaxation and reading.
Restaurants were great, staff very helpful and polite.
Nice clean beach, and great pools.

The facilities in the very first room allocated had lot of complications . No telephone, flooded washrooms prevented us from having a shower throughout stay in first two days. The ground transport in the resort is ineffective, gave us lots of hardships for us to move in the resort.

TRS Yucatan: As predicted, the best vacation ever!!!
We have been in Grand Palladium Riviera Mayan 8 times as this is our favourite resort and TRS Yucatan is one of the best. We stayed on December 10 - 17 in building 65 with ocean front view on the third floor. Everything in this resort is excellent - food, beer, wine, tequila, friendly and knowledgeable staff, new room, pools and fun activities.
One of our favourite aspects of our vacation was to do yoga every morning in the gym, at 8 AM, by the ocean at 10 AM and 5 PM with Alexia. Butlers, Osc[... read more]ar and Eric, are great guys, always helpful and funny, the guys you want to be around. The Foam Party on Colonial beach, I call it Caribbean Snow, all the restaurants in TRS are great. Chic Cabaret was very entertaining. The coral in front of Royal beach seems to be getting bigger and bigger, a good sign for snorkelling.
TRS Yucatan is the nice place to be :)

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Would recommend
Just returned from one week at the Grand Palladium Jamaica. Nice, Large resort but lots of walking as shuttles were not regular. Food was great, lots of selection. No problem getting into a la carte restaurants which were also good. Great selection of booze! Room had some issues but nothing major (screen door broken, card lock battery died , etc). Pools were clean, bathrooms well looked after and always clean. Overall would recommend.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Overall Great!
Resort Grounds: this resort is a bit older but has been renovated and is very well kept. Pool is huge and a nice kids water park
Rooms: nicely updated, we had a one bdrm suite
Service: overall good. However I asked for a crib before travelling there. It was not in the room upon arrival and had to wait till 10pm for a crib and bedding for the pull out for our kids. This was unacceptable after a long travel day with small children that need to sleep

Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres: Beautiful Resort
What a beautiful resort. Lots of restaurants on the grounds. The main buffet was fabulous, with so much variety. The staff were all so nice and courteous.
Lots of things to do, pool area is huge and a special children's area. Live shows each evening, and bands playing good tunes in the sports bar and pool side.
This resort is awesome for all ages. There were 19 family members that were with us, ages 16 - 72. We all had such a good time ! I would definitely go again.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Nice Resort
This resort is very large. Took a few hours to get checked in, we were the last ones waiting in the lobby. The loft room is very big and spacious. Great if you have kids with you. Room was very clean and well kept. The shower is see through on the room side and taps take a bit to figure out. Room service was great! All the restaurants were excellent. All the grounds are well taken care of. The trolleys are a great way to get around. The beach is beautiful however the locals trying to sell things[... read more] are very persistent and constant. Can be rather annoying when you are trying to relax. A few people in our group had staff entering into their rooms unannounced and at odd times. The wifi worked great throughout the resort once you get on it. The night entertainment was ok. I would likely go back to this resort. The big main pool was under construction the whole time so there was a lot of crowding at the other pool.

Grand Palladium Palace: Amazing staff
Although we had a great time at this resort, it isn't one that I would go back to and cannot really give a reason why, spoiled I guess!
The beach is great (mind you there is a lot of seaweed that is picked up daily, but they cannot keep on top of it), the pools fabulous (amazing bar staff....best we have ever had!) and the food was consistent good (not great).
The rooms were large and well laid out, however if you have any mobility issues, the tub is extremely hazardous to get in. They hav[... read more]e a wooden step to assist you getting into the tub, but it is very deep (which is great if you want to jacuzzi it!). They have provided a grab bar, but I was always very careful getting in and out of it. The tub is surrounded by about a 4 inch strip of marble, which the shower cannot help but spray on. The opaque glass to the living area, may be opened, however, that has left a way for the water to run onto the floor in the living area. Easily fixed by putting a towel on the floor, however if you don't know it does that, it could cause a slip and slide moment.
My husband likes more than one pillow and the jacuzzi would not turn on, so I went to the public relations desk to see if these could be fixed. They must have been done within a couple of hours and it was great to get a call to confirm that everything was now to our liking.
This is a huge resort, however there are trains that go every 20 minutes, or you can hail one of the many shuttles that are around. The sports bar was on the complete other side of the resort and we went there a couple of times. We never waited more than 5 minutes for transportation.
We went to 2 of the A la Cartes. The food was fine, as I said not great, and the portions were small.
They have multitudes of different kinds of liqueur, so you can basically get what ever you want and the bartenders are more than pleased to mix it. Ask for each ones specialty.....they have some pretty good ones.
I have read numerous comments on the lack of English. Don't believe it. We never ran into one staff that was unable to understand us.
Great vacation.

Grand Palladium Palace: Amazing resort, could be way better managed
The resort is amazing - well maintained spacious rooms, beautiful grounds, wide and probably 500 m long very nice sandy beach. The staff cleaned the beach from seaweeds daily and it was a pleasure relaxing or walking on the beach. Pools were nice and clean, all beach and pool bars offered a good variety of drinks and cocktails. Bar tenders were always happy to help and served customers with a big smile.
Now about the things, which could be easily improved by better managing the resort:
Our [... read more]main complaint was the quality and variety of food in the buffets and restaurants. We already have grounds for comparison with other 4 and 5 stars resorts in the Punta Cana area and we never had similar experience there.
The variety of food at lunch and dinner was almost non existent. There is always something to fill up, but we never experienced a pleasure or real enjoyment of the culinary. Food presentation in the buffets was non existent. I would suggest managers to sneak pick how this could be done in a near-by Iberostar or Grand Bahia resorts. Better yet - go to Riviera Maya to get some ideas how to make a really good food presentation without extra spending. The food preparation was not done well not only in the buffets, but also in the numerous restaurants, We visited Indian restaurant and only one of the purchased meals had a flavor of India. The Argentinian was not bad, we enjoyed the food in the Mexican, however the Asian was a disaster. With very few tables and a lot of waiters, we had to wait for 40 minutes to be served the entries and a soup, which were already listed in the menu. Some other visitors, who came at the same time with us, simply left the restaurant after waiting for over 30 minutes. I had to call for the manager to express my opinion on the level of service, after which we were promptly served the food.
I can talk a lot about the big disappointment we experienced every time we tried a new food or place. Even the Japanese tepanyaki experience was not in pair with similar restaurants in other resorts.
The second big disappointment was the entertainment. In other places the entertainment team keeps guests busy and happy with different activities , games, dance lessons, competitions etc. This time our stay was more like in a retirement home. The only activity was the aqua fitness for 30 minutes a day. That's was it! During the rest of the day so called entertainment team relaxed on the beach and around the pool, since no one was pushing them to do their job. Looks like they were on vacation, not the guests of the resort - This happened at the Grand Palladium Palace hotel, could be different in other resort hotels.
The third disappointment was almost missing Christmas decoration at the hotel grounds, lobby and everywhere. Other resorts were glowing in Christmas lights, but almost none in Grand Palladium. For the last 10 years we took a vacation during the first week of December and the Christmas spirit was very high at all resorts we visited. That's why it was shocking to see a total opposite at Grand Palladium Palace.
Overall our experience was not very positive and we will never return or recommend this resort to our friends.

Grand Palladium Palace: A nice resort but:
We are retired pensioners and found the shower very hard ( and dangerous ) to get in and out of as it is located in the Jacuzzi and it was also very slippery.
The food was o.k.
The staff were excellent and most speak passable English although we were constantly pestered by some staff trying to sell massages, parasailing, etc.
Staff were very attentive and bar service was excellent.
I would not recommend this place for older people because of the showers.

Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres: Still under Construction
The resort just opened (partially) so it is going through some growing pains. The resort itself is very modern, rooms are very comfortable and clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Food was good but not special and not all the restaurants were open.
The beach and pools were really good but the grounds need some maturing.
Overall it is not quite at the 5 star level yet, but it does have the capability of reaching that level over the next year.
