Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Bad hotel, would not recommend

Infrastructure Infrastructure is very deficient. Parts of the hotel flood with just 10 minutes of rain, and it even rains in parts of the lobby despite being indoors. You’d think that with how common tropical storms are, any hotel in Punta Cana could handle a little rain, but this one certainly can’t. You’ll also find exposed dangling cables and power outlets on the walls or at the beach right next to the chairs. Imagine stepping on one of those with wet feet? The reception and Wi-Fi a [... read more]t the doctor’s office are really poor. If you need to contact your insurance, you may have to borrow a phone and go outside. And if the doctor’s computer doesn’t have Wi-Fi, she won’t get any emails from your insurance company, and may not be able to provide covered treatment. And the “IT” people are clueless, I had to fix the Wi-Fi myself so the doctor could operate her account -.- Services and housekeeping Housekeeping is very inconsistent. Sometimes they leave no towels. Other times they don’t change or even shake the sheets (so if you had sand in them, you’ll still have it after housekeeping). Other times they don’t refill the minibar, so you have no water. Other times they don’t take the trash out. Other times they don’t replace the used glasses. So on and so forth. And if you ask the front desk, concierge, room service, or anyone else to fix anything, they’ll give you a commitment that it’ll get done right away, but it’ll actually never happen unless you ask several times. The safe wasn’t even working when we checked into the room, which makes me think they don’t do a basic check before welcoming their guests. And by the end, our room phone stopped working. The hotel doesn’t offer any transportation of their own. They work with a third party taxi company, and you can’t bill the cost to your room. The pricing is very inconsistent, we asked different staff members and they gave us drastically different prices for the same trip, so until you have them call a taxi and ask the driver yourself, you’ll never really know. Food and drinks The buffet is pretty good. It’s available for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and it has an abundance of different items: fresh fruit, smoked salmon, seafood and red meats cooked on demand on the spot, pretty decent pizza, a variety of desserts, many kinds of bread and bagels, a comprehensive salad station, honey on the honeycomb, etc. etc. etc. Without a doubt the best place to eat in the hotel. The honorable mention is the 24-hour room service, which has quite a few dishes and they are pretty decent. The restaurants are not very good. They seem to have very few items that are actually respectable, while the rest are pretty mediocre. We didn’t try Cloud 9 (it was 150 USD per person, I doubt this hotel can offer anything worth that much), but we tried all the others which were included. The drinks are also a big miss. Beer is never cold. Most cocktails are either overly sweet, watery, or just have a weird artificial taste. There are only a few decent ones, like the mojitos. Even the water can taste weird depending on where you order it. Entertainment There’s not really much to do at the hotel. There are a few sporadic activities like aqua gym or dance lessons. For non group activities, there’s a tennis court, but only one tennis racket available, so if you didn’t bring your own you can forget about playing. There’s a basketball court and a fitness center, but we didn’t try them. Other than that, there’s a spa, two pool tables and an air hockey table, all with very hefty prices. The night shows were ok and the club was mostly just empty playing very American music. Beach Aside from the infrastructure problems, the beach is ok. It doesn’t have a lot of sitting, but it was never full anyway, we could always find sitting with both shade and sunshine. They have a little tractor that clears up the seaweed regularly, so the sand stays mostly uncontaminated.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: The Apathy Resort

Loved the beach, ocean, food, resort, servers, drinks, and maids. It was a wonderful experience except for the cockroaches in our rooms! There were 15 cockroaches in our first room and we were worried they’d get in our luggage, so we asked for another room. We thought we’d get at least another room like the one we had, sans bugs, but we were given a room with burnt out lights, missing lamps, broken safe, fuzzy tv, and more cockroaches! You’d think they would give us a new room that was perfect in order to show their concern for us having to shake all our belongings out to make sure there aren’t any bugs in them. Pack all our stuff. Move all our stuff. When we should have been enjoying the resort. The apathy and nonchalance was gross! Why didn’t we ask for a third room? Because we wanted to enjoy the beach and we’re sick of wasting time!

Royalton Saint Lucia Resort and Spa: Excellent experience

Nothing negative to say about our stay at Roylton St, Lucia. Food, drinks, cleanliness, staff, entertainment and grounds all great! We had a swim-out room and enjoyed the privacy level it provided. We will definitely return in the future!

Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa: Beautiful Resort

The hotel is beautiful, very clean and the staff is friendly. Make sure you visit Ricky at The Score Brewpub, he makes the best drinks and Shannon at the gym for morning bootcamp. Royalton does need to update their web-site as The Score Brewpub is not a microbrewery, do not go with the idea of getting different beers as they only serve Carib. In addition, there is no Beach Grill, there was one in the past however it has closed down and Grazie is now open for light snacks at lunch.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Great vacation, but the rain

Resort was great, amazing food, no need to reserve for most a la carte, staff very friendly, room very clean and new, beach area great with beach volleyball, lots of chairs free to take, bars around the facility were ok. their times were kinda not too good but we managed. the ocean water was not as clear as we wished . It rained insanely for 2 full days and that sucked! They didn't prepare our sofa bed for my son which we have asked in the booking so we had to call reception and request and wait for about 20 min before putting him to sleep that night. Didn't like they make you go to your room at arrival and wait for your bag. Bags took about 45 min to arrive in the room . Time of my vacation I could be enjoying the resort. The gym was the best of all resorts we've been!

Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa: Couple Getaway

Excellent resort, very friendly staff. Rooms were always cleaned fresh towels, steamer in the rooms, comfy bed. Food was good ate at all the a la carte, 3 times at the steakhouse, buffet had a lot variety.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great resort - Supply chain issues in Cuba

Things to note - Vapes are illegal in Cuba - prepare to have them seized at the Airport when your arrive. Resort was great - staff were friendly - supply chain issues make every day a new adventure - some days they have things some days not. Internet is not available in the room - lobby bar and bistro cafe have repeaters - anywhere else is a blessing for line of site - something the resort needs to fix.

I missed the Spanish culture; the “Mexico feel” Amazing restaurants and good food Service was good everywhere but never particularly noticed staff going above and beyond. Was disappointed with the extra pay activities ie jump zone bowling and laser tag… overall well kept resort and I would return

Royalton Saint Lucia Resort and Spa: Beautiful resort

I was at the resort 6 yrs ago and had a wonderful restful vacation. I thought I would try it again also with the diamond club as last time. The butlers were incredible but some of the amenities had changed. The food was good and plentiful. Dorato, Hunter and Zen were the best, but Calypso was pretty good too, but I would definitely skip the Tex Mex! The service in all the restaurants was excellent and cheerful. Entertainment was well done and lots of fun. Royalton is the way I travel.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Diamond club snub

This hotel was fine.The food was good. The staff are diamond club snobby. So ridiculous they will not let you sit on the outdoor patio at buffet unless your diamond club. Total BS it’s the only buffet and it is so hot on the upper level. Due to this I would not consider returning. The beach is small and water rough.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: not worth the money

3 fairly good restaurants, evening and lunch buffet awful. Breakfast was okay thanks to the wait staff, no bacon or fruit all week constantly run out of plates. The pool area was dull no entertainment. Grounds and buildings need maintenance and repairs. Check in was a major issue - never before seen anything like it - assigned butler what a joke.

- Common area is big, airy, and lots of space: very good - Entertainment=0:not good at all. Besides that,the show begins too late at 9:15PM, others place at 8:00 or 8:15PM - Mini-bar is not filled at all, have to ask at bar in downstair for water. - No salt & pepper on table, no spoon at soup, yaourt or ice cream place in buffet, have to ask for every meal. - No paper napkins available for coffee, ice cream, donuts, or cake,... at all places in the hotel, even in the reception office. - Foo [... read more]d is good in some restaurants in resort, but in the buffet place, food is not varied enough, almost the same every meals.

Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa: Not what we expected

Antigua Fridge didn’t work No suitcase holders or bench in our rooms We booked connecting rooms yet we were on separate levels and opposite sides of the resort we were on the 7 floor and my mom was on 5 floor. The Room smelt musty n moldy especially my mom and sisters room. After going down to the front desk 6 times for about 1/2 hour plus each time. They finally moved us to the second floor on Tuesday. We ordered it at 11:15 pm cancelled it at 1230 am. Then they called our room at 105 am woke us up saying it was on its way we said no cancel it. Then at 1:20 am they banged on our door and scared the crap out of us. Obviously waking us up yet again. No food at the pool area at all No restaurant at the pool beach area No mints leaves all week so no mojitos Only buffet for breakfast and the food is ok mostly everything is cold and seemed to be always empty dishes Restaurants aren’t open till 6 pm Only buffet and Italian place open for lunch and closed by 3 pm No food after 10 pm No food in between 1030-1230 except room service and no food between 330-6 pm Score restaurant Horrible Arrived 630 pm ordered 8 pm got 3 salads with nothing but lettuce ( was suppose to be ) wine citrus house dressing , chickpeas, cucumbers , peppers, tomatoes and goat cheese. Then are food all came out missing my moms chicken fajita. I also ordered chicken fajita but it was a chicken wrap with nothing but dried chicken in it. Was suppose to have guacamole, cheese lettuce onions ect .. no sour cream at all even though she double check that they had it before I ordered it. Brought us big bowl of hummus With only 9 little chips on it to split between the 4 of us as our appetizers that took over an hour n a half No utensils no salt ketchup ect for 10 min after we received our salads Mold in the score restaurant all over the ceiling as well as the main dining room I would say 80% of the waiters don’t talk at all. You order a glass of water n like they just walk away then sometimes come back with it. Servers are so extremely slow n just rude like it’s an inconvenience to serve us At the buffet there was a bird bathing in the bowl of water that they serve water to customers from lol Our room keys didn’t work like 5 times They count the culinary experience as a restaurant I guess but it’s 1 table n cost $110 per person Thursday We got all dressed up for Hunters steak house and got there and it was closed. Not open all night Tried to go paddle boarding but Only 1 paddle board works out of 10 of them ( no fins on them.) No Diet Coke at all on the resort and unless you find a can pop it’s flat. Found a drink we liked at pool bar n everyday by 1130 they run out of bananas then make the drink we order wrong with no vodka n no bananas without even saying anything lol No bars really on the resort. Like to even get a drink Pool bar all day and main lobby bar after 830 pm We came back to our room with puddles of water all over the floor and the paint and drywall coming off the ceiling and the wall as there was a leak 🤦‍♀️ Positive things -They had aqua fit daily -Beach is absolutely stunning -Resort was dead so we had no trouble ever getting a lounge chairs -No problem getting into a restaurant. Just limited food options. -Entertainment at night was ok

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Best resort!

My husband and I just went to Royalton Bavaro for my 49th bday. We were in Block 15, in a swim up room. It was amazing to have a swim up room. The resort was clean, food was tasty and plentiful. Lots of options and lots of places to eat. The bartenders were busy at the beach bar but made sure everyone was served. For my birthday the staff decorated a private space at the steak restaurant where i chose to eat my dinner. They even put up balloons! The steak matched the Keg! It was cooked just h [... read more]ow I wanted. We enjoyed the lazy River for a float around and a drink. Barely used the pool as we were at the gorgeous beach all day. We absolutely will come back to this resort!

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: 5 stars across the board - amazing resort!

Hotel very well kept! Exceeded expectations overall! Clean and still looks new. We experienced exceptional personnel, from bus boy, front desk, bar tenders, hosts at restaurants, servers to housecleaning (Felipe was amazing at his job - he dealt with minor issues as soon as we brought it up to him). As far as I am concerned, this resort deserves 5 stars across the board - personnel, room, beach, food, accessibility, lazy river, pools, activities, value, etc.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Great resort

The hotel was beautiful and the grounds lovely. The staff were very courteous and helpful. When concerns were raised by our fellow travellers they were quickly addressed. by the staff. My grandsons loved the Flow Rider. The staff at this place were extremely helpful to them and gave them great guidance. It was the hit of their stay at the Royalton.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: A Great Week at Royalton Cayo Santa Maria

This was our 14th trip to Cuba, so we are familiar with the food and shortages of goods. This hotel was a very good smaller hotel. The service is second to none, and everyone is so pleasant and accomodating. The grounds are well maintained and quite lovely. The beach is spectacular (although rough at times - which was a surprise). Overall we enjoyed the restaurants, but found the fare no better or worse than most 4 or 5 star hotels in Cuba. Our room was clean and adequate. We were given beer in our fridge 4 of the 7 days of our stay (even after asking our concierge to ensure we had some). Our housekeeper was excellent and always left our room spotless.

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: Always amazing

Got married here 5 years ago and came back to relive the memories. With in incredible staff, my favourite Dorrett who we fell in love with from the start ! The resort is awesome! Wish the visitors were the same. People need to appreciate the people and place.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Vacation Bliss !!!

It’s all about the people. We were made to feel welcomed right from the moment we stepped on the bus from the airport to hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for the team at the hotel. The Hotel was well run, clean and comfortable. Our Room was well appointed with easy to adjust air conditioning, clean and comfortable towels and linens. Regular serviced by friendly maids. The Entertainment was exactly what we wished for, high quality musicians, singers and dancers offering a good selecti [... read more]on of Cuban culture and music as well as international. We just loved the music and atmosphere in the bar in the evening. The food was tasty and plentiful. Just remember you are visiting a foreign country, food may be prepared, look and taste different. The Beach was beautiful and although we visited for 2 weeks ‘out of season’ the weather was bliss. Just be ready for ‘liquid sunshine’ falling from the sky a couple of days. On those days you can visit Havana or Varadero. We would recommend the catamaran day trip. Beautiful scenery, fun crew, just sad that the reefs were bleached with very few fish or coral. We look forward to returning!

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Small but great!

Great resort. We paid for Diamond Club and loved the extras...close rooms, premium drinks, special beach area, special beach bar and the surf and turf night on the beach - all wonderful. The resort was not full which made it wonderful for sitting around the pool - no fighting for chairs in the morning. The food and drinks were out of this world. My husband and I don't like Indian cuisine, but tried the Tandoori restaurant and it was fabulous! The foam party was fun and everyone was respectful and had a great time. I heard people taking poorly about the food, but I completely disagree. It was great in the al-la-carte restaurants (Sushi, Italian, Steak and Indian). The buffet was very small and limited, but it was a smaller resort, so it was to be expected. The food was fresh and well prepared. i would say housekeeping was a little lack when it came to extra towels, turn-down service and recognizing our special occasion. However, I think that was just our particular person as our kids had amazing housekeeping and they were over the top. The entertainment was Caribbean style and not the best, but we didn't expect anything different. It was still fun and people had a great time. No complaints.
