Melia Jardines del Rey: Nice Resort but Beware!!

This is a beautiful resort. The staff is amazing (especially the entertainment staff!) The grounds are going to be beautiful...( it's fairly new so it doesn't have a mature landscape). However.....the food is below the standards of even Cuba. There was lots of sick people at the resort. The buffet appears to be under staffed. We were always looking for a clean table, utensils, etc. I hope with time this gets straightened out because it really is a beautiful resort.

Hotel Mojito: Nice small, uncrowded resort in a quiet area

The beach was lovely, especially in the afternoon during low tide. The hotel room was clean and so were all the other public areas. The swimming pools were also kept clean. However, the ladies bathroom near the main snack bar area never seemed to have enough toilet paper so I would recommend that you bring your own. The grounds need some refurbishment, especially some of the footpaths which had uneven tile work.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Pretty good but not awesome

This resort appears nice initially and really isn't bad but don't expect a 4 or 5 star. Clean standards are less than ours in Canada for sure, and I did expect that to be the case when going to Cuba. It was hard to find a clean dinner plate at the buffet and food was not always even warm. The rooms are musty but pretty nice.. Again for Cuba standards. Maybe 1 out of every 8 employees were nice and happy to serve you a drink. Otherwise they were cold, even when tipping. The beach is beautiful so  [... read more]spend your time there.

Hotel Mojito: Have reasonable expectations!

Here is the good and bad about Iberostar Mojito. First the good. The beach is beautiful. Staff are helpful getting chairs and bar with a small snack bar are very convenient. The pools are nice - but not heated, so we're a little cold in Feb. The adult pool was very quiet with its own bar that was never busy. The large pool was a lot of fun with a swim up bar and games and activities. The rooms were adequate, but basic. The maids work hard to keep things clean. I found the beds comfortable. No bu [... read more]gs and we were in a ground floor room. The food is fine. The bread is delicious and fresh everyday. Fruit and vegetables are always available. The buffet has a pasta bar and a fresh grill. For breakfast there are fresh omelettes, smoothies and pancakes or French toast. Everyone will find enough to eat and no one in our group had even a tummy cramp, or any other food related problem. Okay - now the not so good. Beach is a walk from the main resort area through a lagoon. I liked the walk because it is great for bird watching, but the boardwalk is bumpy with tons of trip hazards. Rooms are hit and miss. We had to change rooms since our first one was near the generator and was very noisy. Also our safe and some furniture was broken. Things are old and frayed, but still clean. Pool Snack bar is a disapointment. Service is very slow and sporadic. Front Desk staff and maintenance staff are a little difficult to work with. We waited on 2 occasions for over a half hour for a maintenance person to come to our room to fix our safe. In the end no one ever showed up and we changed rooms. But it is frustrating when you are told to wait in your room because someone is on the way and then no one shows up! I also could not get resolution from the front desk staff on a service concern in the pool snack bar. I asked to speak to a manager and was then given the run around to a lot of non managers until I waited by the office entrance and approached a manager on my own. This manager resolved my issue immediately, but I got zero co-operation from the front desk staff. Overall, it is a fine hotel and I think that management is really work hard to improve service levels and there seems to be a lot of maintenance work going on. For the price, I think this is a good holiday option.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: All that I expected! Wonderful holiday!

The resort was beautiful. The gardeners do a great job. Housekeeping was fantastic. The maintenance crew could keep things fixed a little bit better. All the servers were fast and friendly and I can't say enough about the pool crew. They were always trying their hardest to find us a chair. My biggest complaint and really the only one that I cared about was the young woman in the gift shop. Very moody and unaccommodating. She actually got angry with me because her visa machine wasn't working and  [... read more]I didn't have enough pesos. You would think she would post a sign or tell me the machine wasn't working before she rung up the sale. Then I asked her to put the stuff away until the next day- she didn't. She should not be working in the store. Otherwise, we just loved everything about the resort and we're definitely going back!!!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: EXTREAMLY HELPFUL STAFF,BEACH IS AWSOME,

AWSOME BEACH.GROUNDS ARE WELL KEPT AND CLEAN.OUR ROOM WAS CLEANED DAILY WITH NEW TOWELS AND SHEETS.NEVER HAD A BROBLEM WITH FLEES OR MOSQUITOS.FOOD WAS GOOD.NICE POOL.NIGHTLY ENTERTAINMENT WAS GREAT.CHECK OUT THE NIGHTLY POOL SHOW.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Average

Dining area could improve with more lights and windows. Night time it's very dark with no lights in the walking path. Some light were not change even and no lights in our hallway. We did mentioned nothing happened. Haha.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Good resort for the money

Beach beautiful,rooms need work like plumbing,food OK,graunds beautiful ,service very good,resort it's good for the families,being older would prefer something more quieter but overall we had a great time,nice change from winter

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great time!

We liked our stay at memories flamenco. We read reviews before we went, there was nothing to be worried about. We always found something to eat at the buffet. They make pizza and omelets and pasta right in front of you. Our room was nice in building 3, right beside the snack bar. We had fresh capucino each morning. My husband had to go put a towel on a chair by the pool or we were stuck without...that happened and we learned fast. The chairs were reserved by 7am...kind of early. It was cold the  [... read more]week we went, but we still enjoyed the drinks and the entertainment. The shows were fun! My 8 year old daughter did not want to leave the resort, she wants to live there! Kenny was a sweetheart who works there.

Hotel Vigia: Very nice and comfortable

The place is outstanding the only negative is you get there before noon but you have to wait until 4pm to get to the room it is the fault of air canada not the Hotel I will surely recommend and go there again

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great Time Was Had

We arrived late at night and checked in quickly. They have an all night snack bar that was great and we ended up there a lot because of the Spanish coffee and French fries. My husband had a blast in the piano bar with their great variety of music, great coffee, and staff (okay and drinks). The recreation staff were fun and I got involved more than I thought. The beach is the best anywhere and thought the weather was cool and windy it was breathtaking.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Relaxing Time at Iberostar Daiquiri

I travelled to the Iberostar Daiquiri from Feb 8-15 2016 with my boyfriend. It had been an extremely busy few months and we decided to book this trip last minute. And it was a perfect choice. Although the weather was coolish and windy, it was the perfect relaxing holiday we were needing. Cayo Guillermo hosts a stunning beach, and is off the mainland, so only tourists can be found on the Island (with Cayo-Coco). It is not ideal if you want to visit Cuba for its culture, although a trip to Moron  [... read more]is available if you want to go to the main land. Iberostar Daiquiri is a smallish resort, well laid out, and with great service. The staff was simply awesome and account for such a great stay. Check-in: Simple and straight forward. I suggest you ask for the code to the safe (2 pesos per day) at check in. Room: Great location, (Varadero Building room 4124) on the ground floor. Room is basic, and kept very clean. King size bed comfortable. View awesome. Don't know if the tv works, I don't go to Cuba to watch tv. Beach: Fine white sand, beautiful, could walk it all day. Water turquoise. Lots of chairs and palapas. Cayo Guillermo attracts kite-boarders, and they are fascinating to watch. Pool: Smallish and gets crowded when the beach is too cool and windy. Not my kind of thing. But people seemed to enjoy it. Food: Well, you are in Cuba. My suggestion? Go for what Cuba offers best: the fresh fruit is simply delicious. The rice and beans, fresh cheese, beef, eggs and simple salads. I would eat the fish if I were not allergic. That said, I found it a little challenging to dodge the "fish/seafood" dishes at the buffet. I can't have anything that has been contaminated, and the lack of serving utensils and the carelessness of some people (who took the same spoon to serve themselves from all the dishes) made it that I could not eat anything that had fish at a station. I had to be very vigilant, but managed to find things to eat regardless. Entertainment: The local music is great. The musicians are talented, and it is a joy to listen while having a drink in the spacious and beautiful lobby. I didn't go to any shows. I definitely recommend Iberostar Daiquiri for anyone who wants a nice, relaxing time with friends, family, and beloveds. Would go back in a heart beat. Tips - I did not see one mosquito (probably because it was really windy). However, sandflies simply love me. And I am not about to put deet all over my body on the beach. I brought some anti-itch cream which was helpful. - Bring a facecloth. Cuba doesn't seem to have those. - I always bring gifts with me: toiletries stay behind, craft supplies, clothing, kids toys, magazines, and gifts from the heart. - Bring a reusable mug. Very handy. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Awesome Trip - Would Return in the Heartbeat!

Had a wonderful, relaxing time. From booking (excellent service from the booking agent), to flights both ways, to all the wonderful beach walking and sun bathing, to meals, to all - enjoyed immensely!!

Sol Cayo Coco: very nice stay

The hotel was nice. The rooms were clean and spacious. It was quiet at night for sleeping. The staff were all friendly and happy which I feel makes a vacation ( I was at a different resort/Island that was spiffy and new but the staff were terrible and rude beyond comprehension, even the music was angry and intrusive). However here it was laid back and easy listening to live music and the staff were lovely everywhere I went. Pleasant. Yes as others have written a coat of paint would help but the colours they chose are pleasing to the eye, just a fresh up would benefit. I always had hot water and good pressure. The grounds were nicely kept with flowers in the gardens, bathrooms and a sprig on the tables. I had a lovely massage at the small spa. I liked the lunch dinning room on the water, never too busy, excellent staff there as well, fresh fish everyday for lunch. However they had plenty of other options. I think everyone should have at least one meal there. (more really). The beach is beautiful, lots of chairs and shade for all. If it's a windy day there is another sheltered beach around the bend that is part of the resort and serves drinks there also. They had paddle boats, sail boats to take you out to the reef for snorkeling and feeding the brightly coloured fish. I heard all the rooms had ocean view but mine did not, one can upgrade while there but each day at 4ish the men would come play soccer shirtless in the late afternoon so I had no need to change my room. My view was fine, Cuban men are very fit;). Enjoy your stay and relax.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: a good resort

The hotel grounds were excellent. The staff was amazing, very friendly We had a ground floor room only steps to the beach and only steps to the buffet and pool. it was perfect. Now remember where you are, the room was ok. the sliding door got stuck and the tv was small .but if your going there to stay in your room then this place is not for you. The food was average but good. we had a great time and definitely go back.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Hotel Colonial

Amazing place! Loved the week we spent there with friends. We all love to laugh and have fun and the staff made sure that it was possible. Cant wait to go back. Great service, and amazing beach. The staff went above and beyond to serve us.

Hotel Mojito: A Great Resort

The staff are incredible. Very friendly and helpful. The food is good. Better than the food at Playa Costa Verde and Blau Costa Verde. This strip of beach is the best in Cayo Coco. Beautiful, white compacted sand and crystal clear water with no rock or seaweed.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great resort

Staff were amazing, food and a la cart restaurants were very good. The beach was where we spent most of our time. The staff on the beach were great. They helped us every day get our beach chairs out. The bbq down on the beach served food for lunch that was very good. Overall we had a great time.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Desk service and club house horrible

4 hours before receving our room and no extra towel all week-end long. Se ask for honneymoon package and nobody Was aware at hotel. Food mot si good and big there was big Linup at restaurant à la carte and buffet

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Poorly run resort

The hotel is only 2 years old and is already showing a lot of wear and tear. We paid extra for Priority Club but decided it had been a waste of money. The bathroom shower head and come away from the wall fixture, so had to be hand held. The toilet leaked at the bottom making the floor very wet. There were only 2 towels in the bathroom, which were not changed for 5 days. There were no beach towels available until the 5th day of our week's vacation. The Priority Club beach was like a building site [... read more] and the Priority Club area by the main pool was a joke, as it only held about 12 loungers, which was totally insufficient. The lighting on the walkways was totally inadequate, making it difficult to walk at night. The only plus for this resort were the beautifully maintained grounds.
