Palma Real: Good Value for price

Third time to resort. Knew what to expect. Last minute deal. Very close to everything in town. Reason for choosing. Under new management. Noticed some cosmetic fixes. Cleaning staff were always around keeping things clean. Seemed to be upping the customer service. Staff were much friendlier. Wait staff were fantastic. Food was okay. Could always find something to eat. Great restaurants within walking distance of hotel. Building four. Room was very clean but needed some work. Guest elevators not [... read more] working in any buildings. Change in bar hours. Now direct access to disco - didn’t go. Lobby bar closed at 11pm. Black & White in building #4, 5:30om-8pm. Building #1 10-5 - best Spanish coffee. Don’t go around Mother’s Day. Locals get cheap rate for weekend. Place was packed when we left. It was like spring break. Would go back but not same week. Old resort that needs work. Be interesting to see if more changes under new management. Management was visable all week. They were doing customer satisfaction surveys. 14th trip to Cuba.

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Great Resort, great service

This resort is near dowtown so is great for walking. Also Close to entertainment. This is the third time we stayed at this resort , the second time with our family of eight and we can say it gets better every time. Our rooms were in the Colonial section which was nice and quiet. The staff were all great with great service and of the 30 times we have been in Cuba, for a small resort, the Cuatro Palmas had one of the best selections and tastiest food we have come across. Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: excited our expectations

The resort is beautiful, grounds are lovely, staff very friendly, everything is clean except the beach restaurant bathrooms, very bad smell stall doors didnt lock, and no soap in the pump, which is very important with the restaurant attached..

Memories Jibacoa: |Great Reasort better Staff

Just arrived home from a week at MJ, our 9th time there and it gets better with every stay. The weather did not cooperate completely but the facility and staff more than make up for a couple of rainy days. I am not sure why some past reviewers complained about the food. I thought the food selection and quality was the best of my nine stays, both at the buffet and the a la cartes From Kiki and Jose up front to the Roger and Alexei at the beach bar including all the bar staff at the pool, pi [... read more]ano bar and lobby bar, the housekeeping staff and the gardeners to the front desk staff and Sarah and Vivian I saw nothing but smiles all week. I wish all hotels had such staff. Can't wait until we return to MJ for the 10th time.

Barcelo Solymar: Was basically a party resort

Beach was fantastic. Used the pool at the sister resort.food at both resorts was good. would like better info about the amenities on the resort. Our room didn't have all the lights working and we reported it but by the time we left it still hadn't been fixed.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Blau Marina Veradero

The hotel is huge, having 24 accommodation buildings each having 48 rooms. We went at an excessively quiet time, there were maybe 100 guests total during our week there. Food left a lot to be desired but there were always choices. The whole place was kept very clean! Sound system in theatre needs upgrading was very loud and muffled. Beach was great.

Starfish Varadero: Amazing resort

This hotel is amazing. it's only 2 mn away from the beach which is beautiful. Food was wonderful and very diversified. Also, everyone at the hotel was so nice. Rooms are clean and correct. It's really worth the price.

Club Karey: Amazing Trip!!

I have been to Club Karey twice now and I absolutely love it. The staff truly goes above and beyond to make everyone feel like family. The only downfall with the hotel for many is there is no wifi, but id prefer to not have wifi and simply enjoy my vacation.

Melia Las Antillas: The outside pools and gardens were amazing.

I just got back May 10/2018 For the price overall was fair. I maybe a bit picky cause we meet people that have been going to that same resort for over 10 years. I found the staff accomadating but not overly friendly.In the past I have visited resorts in Cuba and the staf were entertaining. I was disappointed with the linens and towels they were clean but very old. I like going to hotels that have nice white plush towels and devet style bedding. BUT EVERYTHING WORKED. We met people from othe [... read more]r resorts who paid about the same and bragged about the bedding . I was jealous. The food was substandard but better than other places I have stayed in Cuba. Again I like more fresh fruits and salads and food i recognize, understanding they have had much of there crops destroyed. The main dinning room did not have any linens on the tables so it felt like a cafeteria and it was very dated. It was very clean I must say that. The beach and pool unforgettable. They were not that creative with the cocktails, so I didn't drink much, which is unusual for me. I personally would try to find a newer resort for my next trip... but I can't wait to go back to Cuba. TRIPCENTRAL EXTREMELY EFFICIENT, I give them a 10 out of 10. I would give the hotel a 6 and the pool and gardens a 10.

Memories Jibacoa: Love this Place :)

This was our third visit to this resort and out 12th time in Cuba. The resort is small and intimate, snorkeling is amazing and the staff are super friendly. We love the piano bar in the evenings. The hotel itself is getting older. The rooms need renovating but they are clean and comfortable. Water pressure in the shower in lacking in some of the rooms but we always manage. The food is great with enough variety to satisfy but the buffet area is sometimes overrun by birds. The a la cartes are ve [... read more]ry good.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Nice Resort

Our group just returned, May 2nd. The grounds where nice and new but could have used more ground maintenance. The resort was clean, and the rooms were nice. We booked Elite swim-out rooms …. just be careful when entering your room with wet feet, tiled floors are very slippery. Room 10022 now has a broken hurricane proof glass sliding door. We tried the general buffet one night just to compare Elite restaurant, we were disappointed and went for the 11th floor Elite experience with stunning  [... read more]view and great food. Book your el-a-cartes early and make sure you eat at the Japanese restaurant. Beach was nice, and bar was nearby. No more strews allowed at resorts … good idea. No bar blinders were disappointing, except for the 11th. floor Elite bar. The same thing goes for alcoholic drinks …. The 11th. floor bar had the upper sleeve selection and not the Cuban bands. The Beatles bar in Varedaro was still rocking and a few great nights out. All and all, we enjoyed our stay at this resort.

Starfish Jibacoa: Villas Jibacoa review

We had another relaxing visit to Villas Jibacoa. The staff were a highlight of the resort. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The grounds were constantly being attended to by the gardeners. We plan to go back again next year and would like to arrange our trip with Tripcentral again because of the good service. Thank you.

Playa Vista Azul: Excellent choice!

My husband and I visited this resort April 30 thru May 11. It was an excellent choice, highly recommended. The food was excellent, the animation was great - there are lots of activities going on a the large beach and main pool and the infinity pool has a one million bucks view. There were minor inconveniences: we needed to get up at 6:30 to grab breakfast and reserve a place in the shade at the main pool or the large beach (we were told the small beach shade was already occupied by 6:00 AM). The [... read more] resort seemed full. The shower has very hot water and you need a PhD in engineering to figure it out and get some OK water. However the resort is very clean, well maintained (probably because it's new). The tennis court is on a roof, quite inconveniently located, because the balls can get lost. We liked the gym, it was well equipped and not busy at all. The a la carte restaurants were not very good, the buffet was better. We tried them all, twice. In our opinion, Privilege is not worth the upgrade (only benefits are better drinks, an extra bath tub in the room along with a sofa instead of an armchair, and a better view, plus access to a seafood restaurant). It is a great place overall and we would come back for the food, infinity pool and animation.

Hotel Villa Cuba: Things are looking up!

This hotel is trying to do it's best to keep up with the other resorts .. This is a beautiful place to go but if you are looking for a 4 + this is not the place for you ... We go there so often because we know what to expect and we rather like it there ... This hotel is really cleaning up as best they can .. It is getting there .. The staff is always amazing and will do the best they can to make you happy .. The food is changing for the better but the dishes and glassware could use extra cle [... read more]aning ... I would like to see new dishwashers come to this resort and not have the waiters wash our silverware where they stand when cleaning off our plates ... The gardens are coming back after the hurricane in Nov. The gardener's are always hard at work rain or shine you will always see them out .. Hard working people in Cuba and the friendliness you will ever meet .. Like I said, if you are looking for a 4+ this is not your resort .. but if you are looking for a quiet and friendly 3* then you found it!

Roc Barlovento: ROC Barlavento

great beach and pools...new pool beautiful wonderful staff...upgraded rooms not so upgraded....pillow cases were dirty and stained..bathtub had no plug...shower broken...outside room too much construction...maids very loud from 9am throughout the day...towel carts sounded like trains all day...so no chance of napping...bars were all good..but pool bar should be open much earlier than 4pm....Lobby has too many smokers...non smoking area which is separate is not smoke free as smoke travels within [... read more] an enclosed structure...smoking needs to be contained to outside areas only... Food was ok.... we paid for ROC plus and it seems to be in name only...2 bottles of water for two weeks..maybe we missed the perks?? although repetitive, the entertainment was excellent...especially enjoyed the water show..Lobby entertainment verygood...commnication by staff is not so good trying to figure out when snackbars are open...if you miss breakfast you cant eat til 12:30....since the beach and pools were so nice it makes up for the other short comings at this resort...however not sure we would return as the smoking situation is a deal breaker

Playa Vista Azul: Definitely not a 4+ star!

We stayed here for 14 days from Apr 26th, 2018 - May 10th, 2018. The property is in a beautiful spot, and the grounds are kept up well. The rooms are not cleaned properly. The bedsheets in our room were changed after 3 days at the resort and never again. The toilet was never cleaned (by the hotel staff). The floor was mopped and the bed was made every day. We saw the woman behind the bar wipe the top of the garbage can off with a cloth and then use the same cloth to clean the bar! The cooks wo [... read more]uld drop something on the counter, and just grab it with their fingers and throw it into the buffet bowl. The buffet is about half the size that it should be for the amount of people at the resort. Being Cuba, I didn't expect good food. That is very true. I have definitely had my share of chicken and rice. We did not spend any time at the pools, as it seemed to be a big party all the time. Not really our thing. A few of the staff at the resort really stood out as great hosts. Of course its not hard to stand out when the rest of them are just plain rude and constantly seem to be very annoyed that you have a question or request. The coffee is not very good at all. If you want a decent caffeine drink order an espresso with milk. They were great. Everything in Cuba is very expensive. It will even cost you a CUC to use the washroom at the airport! The ocean was rough the entire time (probably just the time of year) and there were very few fish to see while snorkeling. As with anywhere, go early and put a towel on a chair at the beach or pool. While fishing on the rocks one morning, a grounds keeper started fishing next to me and told me very aggressively to leave. I did not and luckily nothing happened. We did an excursion to the Bay of Pigs for some snorkeling. Excellent trip. It cost 56 CUC each and we had to stop at a croc farm on the way. The croc farm was very lame, but worth the trip to Bay of Pigs. We also hired a guide and driver in a classic car to go to Havana for the day. Our guide, Fernando, was extremely knowledgeable of Havana and the history. That trip cost 75 CUC each and was worth the trip. We saw and learned a ton about the country. Overall, we relaxed on the beach and got away from our busy lives for awhile, so a success. We will not be going back to this resort, we would not recommend it, and we will not be going back to Varadero.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: I love everything except the food.

I can cook better than the chef in this hotel. I hope they can take specific feedbacks on the food. May be hire a Chinese cook and it will be 100% better. Other than that, the place is great. Nice pools and beach.

Pools and beaches were great. Easy to find a lounge chair, but the pool area needs more shady covers. It seemed to be not too busy and the hotel wasn't full. Room was spacious. Balcony was great. Our room was located in the third building from the lobby; I could walk through the other buildings to get to my room; no need to walk outside in the sun or rain. AC in the room was cold enough; but difficult to control the temperature. I don't think the thermostat was working. I had to turn on and  [... read more]off the AC in the middle of the night. Soft drinks and water in the fridge supposed to be replaced every second day; but in the 7 days I stayed, they were only replaced once. Buffet is not that great. You won't starve, but don't expect too much from it. I only tried the Italian specialty restaurant. Not thrill about it. Probably can get the same food from the buffet; except the smoked salmon (appetizer). I gave up and cancelled the Gourmet Restaurant reservation. Smoking was an issue. People were smoking everywhere, by the pool, in the lobby. Can't avoid it. I will recommend this hotel only if the price is under CAN$1000. I will probably try a newer hotel next time.

Hotel Bella Costa: Great vacation

This was my second visit to the Bella Costa. I could not say enough about the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The beaches are truly awe strikingly beautiful. I am already planning for my next trip back in November .

Roc Arenas Doradas: Roc arenas Doradas a very quaint and quiet resort with lots of smiles!

No lineups, lots of hospitality with friendly service always!!!💞Food and coffee services were excellent!Drink selections were second to none ! Very clean even though could use upgrades to rooms and bathrooms....would then be surely a 5 *
