Valentin Perla Blanca: Disappointed

This was our 6th visit to Cuba, so we knew what to expect. We were there Jan 16 - 23. I’m going to try to make this short and to the point: GOOD STUFF: Resort is visually stunning Entertainment was the best I have ever experienced in Cuba. The nightly shows in the lobby to the nightly shows in the theatre and at the pool! A special shout out to Jenny, he was awesome! Beach and pools were wonderful Our room was cleaned every day Bacon and made to order eggs morning buffet Coffee bar BAD STUFF [... read more]: Service – worst we have ever experienced. I believe this is due to staff shortage and proper training. Food – worst we have ever experienced. From powdered mashed potatoes to uncooked rice to fatty pork chops. It was not good. I was very happy I brought protein bars. Never received beach towels The wait to exchange money at the resort bank (exchange at the airport folks) Line ups for everything Waited 1 hour to check in Waited 1 hr 45 mins to make 3 a la carte reservations Glass was permitted at pools and beach. It won’t be long before someone slices a foot open We booked this resort before it even opened. We knew we were taking a chance, but hoped it would be a great experience. Unfortunately it went the other way. Lesson learned on our end. We would NOT recommend this resort to anyone. The resort has potential, but they have a long way to go to get there.

It s a good place to b with family or alone amazing and nice people ,realy a good place to be with who you like, The food was not bad compared to other places the animation every night with proffessionals and the best is the beach

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Amazing resort!

I have been to Cuba at least 10 times and the Starfish resort did not disappoint us. The grounds were clean and well kept, as well as the rooms. The food was wonderful, with a wide variety. I never had to eat the same thing twice, however I couldn't resist the fried rice they made up fresh for us at a grill, or the chocolate bananna crepes!! And the lobster night was amazing. They were spectacular!! Pool was great and do I have to tell anyone about the beautiful powder white sand beaches??? Memories Paraiso: Awesome Resort

Had a great time and made so many new friends and even ran into some old ones. Our suite was amazing, the beach was fantastic. We went on a few excursions which were well worth the money. We can't wait to go back next year!

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: It was an AMAZING RESORT!!

SERVICE AND STAFF VERY PROFESSIONAL AND FRIENDLY and the cabaret shows were all first class,highly recommended. Beaches beautiful... the management made every effort to serve us well and they succeeded!!!

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Not like it use to be!!!

We arrived at the hotel at lunch time our rooms we not ready, so around 3 we went to see if they ready yet, and they were not. We waited until around 4, we went to our rooms to find out that we had two rooms, with double beds, we had requested one with a king size bed the other with double beds. When we tried to request the rooms we had booked, no one would help us they kept hanging the phone up on my husband. So we took all our luggage back to the lobby, we requested to speak to the manager whi [... read more]ch took an hour or so of asking, we also had to get our sunwing rep. involved, finally at 6:00 they said we could have the rooms we had requested. We were told when you book your trip you don't book a bed you book a room. This is crazy, we have been to this resort 5 times, years ago it was called The Royal Hideaway Ensenachos. I thought we would of been treated better, but it didn't seem to matter, also the manager did not speak English, as well as most of the staff at the front desk it was hard to get a straight answer from any of them. Also when going to the steak restaurant they ran out of steak. The best meal there was at the Japanese restaurant the cook was great and made the evening great. No toilet paper in lobby washrooms or at beach everyday they would run out and not replace it until the next morning. There was also no soap in the washrooms, my daughter asked at the front desk the morning we were leaving to come home for toilet paper for the washroom and they said they had none. This is not a very good way to run a hotel. Your guest should be treated better its just a simple request to have soap and paper when you need it.

Melia Las Dunas: Resort too big.

We found the Resort was very big and that made the room service suffer. We did not find the room service very good as the cleaning was not well done. We asked for clean towels as I put dirty towels in the bath tub as requested and they took them out of there and hung them over the chairs and table on the little patio outside to dry out which I was not happy with. Please bring your own face cloths as I asked for them and they brought me hand towels. For the grounds they were beautiful and also th [... read more]e public areas. The dining areas were very nice and on the hole the food was pretty good. I did take my own salt and pepper. As for the beach I did not find it to be the best as there was some sea weed in it. The pools were great. We would not return to that Resort again.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: A quality place in Cuba

Having been in Cayo Santa Maria at least half a dozen times I would rate Iberostar Ensenachos toward the upper end without the top end pricing. Gardens (the whole place is a garden ) are terrific , food very good and rooms spacious and comfortable. Our second time here and my previous objection that the main dining room is all indoors has been improved with a few outdoor tables now available. The beaches are very nice and because this is such a large resort in area (not in overall number of room [... read more]s) it never feels crowded. The Spa section means adults only with a quiet pool area . It is nearer the main buildings and the gym and spa and so is preferred if you are going without kids. Otherwise it can be a hike to your room although the electric carts are always about giving rides. We usually hire a driver to tour the towns on the mainland and a 2 peso ride on the open top double decker tourist bus gives you an idea of the Cayo and other hotels.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: very nice

we feel, that the hotel and service was good......the overall structure of the resort was very comfortable....pleasant......the best part...the beach and the sea.....and the sand....people vere friendly....we would recommend to the kitchen staff to learn better food taste....recipies......

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Great Holiday

We just came back from a great week at the Ensenachos resort. Our room was huge,and very clean and tidy. The beaches were some of the best we have ever been to and the staff were very friendly. Flights and transfers were smooth and early.

The Hotel Was Very Nice, Service Was Very Very Slow, Food Always Cold in Buffet, Serving Staff Was Excellent But Food Preparation Was Very Slow., Check in Was Slow Took 45 Minutes., Low Water Pressure in shower and sink, no hot water for 48 hours, hydro off for 2 hours when trying to get ready for Dinner, Cuban Restaurant Very Good, Italian Restaurant Very Good., Pool Staff Excellent, Beach Staff Excellent, Entertainment Staff At Pool Excellent, All Staff Very Friendly and Always Wanting To Help [... read more], Bed was very hard, pillows very thin, Always a shortage of towels {beach & bath}, no Kleenex in rooms., Location to far from airport.,

Memories Paraiso: Great Price, Great Resort, Great Travel Company

This is a very large resort with many options for entertainment & excursions. The buffet food was amazing especially the all you can eat lobster on Sunday nights! Best beach in Cuba! Great staff Too!!

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: deceived

very nice set up....but we were very desapointed...we were there for 14 days..for 3 days we did not get the bathtowels changed..the ones that were in had a bad smell. clean beach towels were not available often .The room was fairly cleaned.There was no paper tissues(kleenex), we had to complained to get the bedshits changed. The food in general wasn't exciting,lots of varieties..lack of quality.. some of the staff were wonderfull...some were not at all..(at the bar of the grill resto.)

Melia Las Dunas: No toilet paper, no activities, no shuttle,

Food was cold, even the soup was cold, No toilet paper, no activities but they announced full activities, no shuttle, beautiful beach but within 10 minutes the pulled out at least 15 jelly fish, there wasn't enough umbrellas for every room, when it rained we had to wait over 1 hours for a shuttle that never came for our engagement party everyone had to walk and get all wet.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort! We would go back.

Nice clean hotel, very friendly staff. There is lots of seating both in restaurants and on the beach. Staff are very helpful from groundskeepers to chambermaids. The beach is beautiful, nice sand and lots of room including beach huts. Staff on the beach help you to look for a lounger and hut and even cleaned off chair and set up where you like. We didn't use the pools but they were really clean and lots of loungers available. Good bar selection with options. Good service sometimes a little bit o [... read more]f a wait during busy times but that's to be expected. The food is good by Cuban standards. The seafood restaurant is excellent serving large Caribbean lobster tails! The resort if perfect for families with young children. There is evening entertainment shows but no disco or casino on site. This is a great place to relax. We would have liked to have one of these available. It was top notch value for the price.

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: It was totally amazing!!!!

the grounds was very nice, well kept. The room was clean, we did run out of hot water for a day but was soon fixed once we notified front desk. This was my first trip to the south and can not wait to go back! I am still pinching myself to make sure it was real.

Memories Paraiso: fantastic resort

the resort is huge, the grounds and gardens are amazing, rooms were very clean and satisfied all our needs, only issue was couldn't plug curling iron in the dressing area..bathroom at beach needs attention, totally disgusting..food adequate nothing special but we go for the beach and weather, not the food. Staff is for sure a 5 star rating they were all so very friendly and happy, couldn't do enough for you.. this was our second trip and we loved every minute of it..highly recommend it

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Let down

Pros-Beach was beautiful,sand felt like you were walking on flour. Entertainment was nice, low key if you are into that. Drinks were fancy. Room was clean. Cons- Could not find lifeguard on the beach when a couple were in trouble and panicking in an undertow, my boyfriend had to go in and try to help once I did find someone they have no floating device to send out to them, horrible. Food is....so so, found bones in my chicken pasta, a rock in my Cuban beans at breakfast,ketchup taste like vomit [... read more], dry dry dry everything and they run out of a lot of items all the time, dessert is horrible unless it's ice cream if you order the 24hr service it's cold, getting extra bottles of water is like asking for their first born child. Bed is like sleeping on a box spring, everyone who I spoke to about it agreed. I had a lululemon top stollen from my room,the managers who are dressed in ties (sergio) walk around with a blank face thinking they are kings of the world and do not treat their staff well. We will never go back. I've heard they give you extra treatment if you agree to write a 5 star review so that they keep their title as best resort in Cuba.

Dec 30, 2014 to Jan 6 2015 - LOVE CUBA & SANTA MARIA ISLAND! been there many times. This was my 1st disappointment. Check in took 4 hours. Very disorganized. All beverages "self serve" ! Line up at bar if you want a drink. No clean towels. 3 days no water! Closed all restaurants for New Years and opened Buffet only. Line up took 4 hours to eat!! Approached the director to explain how unhappy we were. He explained how they were just going through big changes in management because of declining cus [... read more]tomer service levels. He did send us to another resort further up beach where we were happy and service was great. So, Im sure this resort is getting a major overhaul by Management. Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Great Holiday in the Warmth

This was a different holiday for us because we usually do not do all inclusive, but the people at this resort make your holiday a joy. They were very attentive and happy after all of the changes they have been through lately. The scenery is stunning ,amazing sand beaches. There is a lot of activities from Yoga to crazy Bubble Dances in the pool .There are two identical sides to this huge place and if one bar was too noisy ,the other bar was perfect for sitting quietly and chatting. The food was excellent ,a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables and many different dishes of meat.( Even lobster two nights in the buffet.) The rooms are big and well maintained,if anything was not working the maintenance crew was right there All the regular tours are available ,but you need to remember you are on an island and everything takes longer to get to. There is a nature reserve close by for a hike and it is just that ..take water and good hiking shoes it is a long walk to the beach in +30 weather. Many photo op pictures for the flora/fauna folks.
