the buffet was ok there was more pork then beef I did not like this at all. the entertainment was amazing shows during the day at the pool and beach and night entertainment the rooms were cleaned daily staff very friendly.

Melia Cayo Coco: Well run resort

Rooms were clean if a little dated. Staff was very helpful and friendly. After one particularly heavy rainfall there was water dripping from a bathroom light fixture and toilet kept running after flushing. Food was ok but not greatest variety and meat was poor quality; however, ok for Cuban standards. After 9 am you can forget about finding an available lounge around the pool as all are being reserved for the day with guest towels or personal items contrary t posted rules. Melia Jardines del Rey: Slow reponse time, Dangerous conditions

Over all the hotel was very warn for wear after only one year. Lights werent working. Staff was over all unimpressive. Rooms were clean but beds were rock hard. A la Carte Restaurants were horrible, the buffet was acceptable. Entertainment staff were good. Bar servers felt intitled... If you didnt show up with cash in hand for a tip they took forever to serve. Frontline staff did not speak enough english for a conversation and when attempting to speak spanish they could nor understand me. Our bu [... read more]ngalow was without hall lights the entire trip, we needed to have our cell phone lights on to find our rooms. After 5 straight days of reporting this the lights finally came one during the day but turned off at 11pm. The spa room was completely overpriced $35cuc for a 30 reflexology treatment although the treatment was excellent - all you could hear was the kareoke happening at the pool. It was not reflective of a spa environment. Overall extremly dissappointed with the service, accommodations and food, at the resort but as always Cuba sun and beach were netter than a week of winter.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Very disappointed 4.5 star?? I don't think so.

Check in was a long process. Rooms were short of towels, dirty, linens had so many stains and huge roach infestation. They told us that they didn't have beach towels for us, suggested we use our bath towels (given the fact that we were having a hard enough time getting enough to bathe, we decided to purchase 3 towels from the gift shop ($90 Canadian dollars later) we were in business. I will say that the food in the buffet was pretty decent, servers were amazing people who went out of their way to make your meal enjoyable. Entertainment was good. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: fabulous vacation

Just came back from a week long vacation at this resort. The room and service was first class. The staff was amazing and the food and selection was extraordinary. Really no complaints and believe me I am difficult to please. Although many people think that Cuban food is sub standard, the four of us were very satisfied. The Asian restaurant was top shelf. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: The resort sure needs an upgrade

We stayed in room 1616! No air condition, no hot water for 3 days, than it was either too hot or too cold, only got 1 towel for the 2 of us even after complaining, our balcony was good with a nice view, but the fridge didn't work either, the food was poor , hamburgers were never cooked enough

Sol Cayo Coco: A Good Value

This resort is located on a lovely beach, and only 10 minutes from the airport. It provides good value for the budget minded traveler. Buffet food was good, but repetitive. Room was out-dated and requires work in the bathroom, notably caulking around the tub. Staff friendly and helpful.

Hotel Mojito: Good Resort

Short transfer from the airport. Reasonably quick check inn. Very friendly staff all around. Nice beach. Pretty good food at buffet and snack bar. A La carts, service was great , food was ok. Overall decent resort.

Melia Cayo Coco: More than we ever expected!

When first arriving at this resort you are greeted by some of the friendliest people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. We got our bags out of the bus and proceeded to the lobby. We checked in with Angel who was quick and thorough. Provided us with everything we needed and even a welcome cocktail. Our bags were loaded into a golf cart and were escorted to our lagoon room with a tour of the resort on the way. When entering our room it was wide open, clean and beautiful. We had an amazin [... read more]g view of the landscape. In the morning we were engaged with the rising sun right from our balcony. We sat with our fresh coffee and chatted as the sun came over the horizon. Being our one year wedding anniversary we needed to make it special. With this being an adults only resort it was quiet with just enough of night life to keep you having fun all day and night. From the cabaret to nightly music in the lobby we were never let down. The three a la carte restaurants were elegant and the food was fantastic. There is a beach restaurant during the day that has cooked to serve meats and vegetables while you wait and a buffet to match. The beach went on for miles as we walked it each and every day. There was never a dull moment for our 7 day stay. We plan on returning. Thanks Melia and staff for making our anniversary shine. If I could add pictures of our trip I surely would.

Tryp Cayo Coco: best time

love it the staff are like our family we go a few times a year food depends what you like something for all we are always treated like family yes a few tweeks here and there but at the end of the day it is going home

Place was clean and staff were great. maintenance staff were fast and well mannered. Close to market and other resorts. Entertainment was fantastic and they really catered to the kids. All the resorts there were having trouble with towels. was better when we left. would go back no problems

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing Staff

We spent 12 days at Memories Flamenco frim January 1st-12th. The staff was amazing from start to finish. From the pool bar bartenders (Aris, Omar & Yuniet),bellboys, maids and Gardners to the General Manager Noelia and Assistant Manager Lucia. Everyone was so helpful & thoughtful. Unfortunately my wife suffered an allergic reaction to the baby mosquitos called (jejenges) and had to see the doctor at the resort who was also very kind and helpful. Trust me when I say if you need anything or have a [... read more]ny concerns go to them and they will go put of their way to do whatever they can to fix the situation or address the concern. The beach is very rocky ... I was there with a broken foot so could not spend anytime down there but everyone said definitely need water shoes as there is a coral reef right there. Food .... buffet is same as most places average but again the servers were amazing. If you don't see it ask for it. They do not have maple syrup ... it is honey. The snack bar french fries are amazing and I don't like french fries. There is another buffet in behind the snack bar for lunch only. There is also a small gift shop right across from there. The best a LA carte was the Mediterranean. ..amazing ! We went twice. The soup at the Cuban was amazing as well. There is also a lunch beach BBQ every day at 1230 Take condiments if you like lots of flavor. Also huge tip .... ask about the lobster meal. It is 18 pesos and worth every cent. It was amazing ! There is only one laundry mat on the island so linens are sometimes scarce so take a beach towel or two with you. Overall we loved the resort mainly be a use of the people and the pool. Have a great trip and say hi from Kim and Leah. We would love to go back because of the staff but not sure if we can because of the mosquitos. Mosquito tips ... take bug spray with 50 deet. ... don't eat bananas (they like potassium) ... eat garlic (they don't like it) ... note: my wife got hundreds of bites ... I literally only got one on the last day ... so there is no way to know of they will bother you.

Great place. Food was a little bland but the people were great. I will definetly return. It is a beautiful resort for friends and family. The beach is very nice, rocky on the left nice sand in the right.

Hotel Playa Coco: wonderful vacation

We did have some bumps with our rooms, I was travelling with 3 other ladies. I did find the staff exceptional throughout, especially the entertainment staff. They were full of life and always found ways to get people involved. The rooms are huge and the biggest I have been in. Lots of variety at the buffet for all breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Resort

The resort was beautiful, it is huge and spacious, clean and very friendly staff. Rooms was comfortable and i really enjoyed the food. However there was a smell of sewer back-up so we could not walk around the grounds. The smell was really bad, even at the restuarant near the beach. There was also mosquitoes and in the bathroom when you take a shower the water was running into the toilet. When these things are fixed the resort will be amazing. I would recomend if these fixes are worked out.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great time! It's not perfect, but it's nice.

My daughter and I just returned from a week at Memories Caribe (Jan 13-20). After reaching the scathing reviews, I was a little nervous as to what to expect. But I was pleasantly surprised. The beach is gorgeous, but windy and narrow at times. You have to try to the pizza on the beach. The pool is gorgeous. The swim up bar wasn't always opened, but if you swim up and ask to be served, they will serve you. It was hard to get beach towels exchanged for clean ones. The food was good. The best part  [... read more]was the stir fry bar. Check it out. They cook the chicken in front of you and even have soya sauce. The food at the snack bar was good, but make sure you ask for your hamburger well done. Excellent mojitos and mimosas. The entertainment staff is so friendly and fun. The bartenders are great! If you get a chance to go to the disco, GO!!! Especially if there is a FOAM party. Best night of my life. We had so much fun. The weather was not great while we were there, but we definitely got a tan and had a great time. We met some great people. Everyone was so friendly. If you are looking for night life at this resort, plan to go off site or take a group of people with you. There is a tonne of families with very small kids there. If you're looking for a family vacation, go to this resort. If you're not, go somewhere else. There are water wings, infants in diapers and strollers everywhere!!! Our room was nice, with lots of hot water and water pressure.

Overall, our experience was really great. Our room was well kept and clean. The food was definitely not the best, but you won't starve. The staff were very friendly, and probably the best part. 4 stars

Hotel Vigia: Meh.

The resort is ok. Just ok. There are some great points, such as the demeanour of some staff, but mostly, it's subpar. The rooms were old, musty, and the air conditioner was loud and leaked, even though we put in service calls. The room doors (at least ours) didn't seem secure, and the safe in the room costs extra, so it almost felt like a money grab. The showers were hit and miss. Ours was fantastic... Lots of hot water and great pressure, but some rooms had almost no pressure whatsoever). The  [... read more]grounds leading to the rooms were often littered with garbage. Some of this garbage (plastic bags, cups from the bar, cigarette butts, empty bottles) were in the same spots for the entire week of our stay, and when it was time to cut the grass, the garbage was just cut up rather than removed (yuck). The food was as to be expected in Cuba. We always chose fresh, made to order options when possible (omelettes, pasta, stir fry). Fresh fruit was good. The "24 hour" snack bar was anything but 24 hours! It was opened sporadically through the day, and often was very under stocked, and so very limited. Drinks were ok. The beach is fine. Compared to the resorts neighbouring the Sol, it really was nicer an most in the area. In the winter, the tides bring a lot of sea grasses, etc., but not too much can be said about that. It is close to Pillar Beach, and we took advantage of a cheap ride from the resort. Excursions are the same for most Cayo Guillermo/Cayo Coco resorts. All in all the experience was "meh". Not enough to make me want to return,but not so bad that I wished I hadn't gone.

Melia Cayo Coco: Fantastic service - beautiful stay!

Buffet dining room had huge variety. Always fresh, always delicious. Wait staff never missed a beat. Your glass or coffee cup was never left empty and dishes were cleared promptly. Several restaurants needing reservations slipped our mind so we never got to book early enough but heard rave reviews for the "International Restaurant". Next time!
