Melia Las Dunas: Awesome Vacation
Well, first of all... it's Cuba - can't expect Canadian standards in a country without the means to create that sort of environment. That being said, our resort was beautiful, our room was acceptable, the food was decent, and the staff were excellent. We heard a lot of bad things about a resort a little ways down the beach having really bad food and no running water, but we never experienced any problems during our stay. We were placed in villa 51 (close to the beach and leisure pool, far away [... read more]
Sol Cayo Coco: Wonderful
First time out of Canada in 24yrs....it was all I was hoping for. Enjoyed my stay and can't wait to return to Cuba. Sol was lovely, seems to have the best beaches in my opinion on my beach walkabouts.
Melia Las Americas: Great resort
Everything was great but some of the serving staff staff were very unfriendly which put a downer on some of the dinners. The GM was very out going and helpful if we had any issues. Rooms were excellent.
Melia Las Americas: Beautiful
Very clean, beautiful location, great beach, very nice golf course The manager was always available to speak to and was very helpful and friendly! The only bad thing was the weather was bad and the pool bar near our bungalows and was only open a couple times because of that.
Sol Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful beach, medium resort.
Grounds, rooms, public area needs TLC. From replacing and adding lights to cleaning beautiful tiles around pools. Food is OK. Resort staff is amazing! Missing a lot Cuban music! Missing also Creole and la Picua restaurants.
Melia Jardines del Rey: Good overall vacation with some issues
When we got to this resort our first impression was uncertainty, it felt a little 'disjointed' somehow. After a few days once we got the feel for it and figured out where everything was on this large resort it felt a little different but I am still on the fence as to whether or not we would return. This was our second visit to Cuba and our third all inclusive resort. CHECK-IN: Similar to what you likely read in other reviews, they did check in as a group and it was pretty organized. I liked the [... read more]
Zel Cozumel: Smaller but well run
Spent 10 days here to play golf across the road. Perfect location for golf. My only complaint would be that the lobby bar is closed when the pool bar is open. Lobby bar should be open for coffee in the morning and drinks from 11 to close. After 4 hours golfing in the heat it would have been nice to sit in the air conditioned lobby barprior to going outdoors and wait in long lines at the pool bar. Also make sure you get a tower room. We had to upgrade as not all rooms have refrigerators and coffe [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Fabulous Resort
Absolutly beautiful resort!!! The al-la-carte restaurants were the best I've ever been to in Cuba. They ambiance and food were superb. The room was large and comfortable with all necessary amenities. The drinks at the lobby bar were lovely and I loved the Pina coladas and Spanish coffee. The grounds were well maintained and the marina boardwalk was beautiful to walk in the evening. The beach was a 10-15 min walk but the resort had a shuttle that picked you up. If you want classy place with great [... read more]
Melody Maker Cancun: Good resort, customer service was not great
Had some issues upon checkout. Our flight was delayed and they would not let us use the facility to eat or get dressed. Not impressed with final service provided by Cesaer. The manager Jeanette was great. She was very accommodating and flexible.
Paradisus Rio De Oro: exceeded our expectations
we just came back from a week at this hotel, the weather was gorgeous all week, the food is wonderful, the ground is beautifully designed, very romantic place, the spa is piece of heaven. the lobby bar staff are wonderful as well the waitress every where, the A la carte restaurants are exceptional. I now know why so many couples are repeat clients, why change something so good.
Hotel Camino del Mar: Amazing resort !
We just came back a week ago.Vocation was wonderful ! MCG is really beautiful (a hope, that management will invest some money and will renovate hotel rooms)because it is very outdated .Service is great (we had problem with TV and it's been fixt with in cople of minutes)room was always clean .Food was good,a lot to try ,buffet was great. We arrived to MCG at 11 p.m and my husband was really upset, that we could not have a dinner, but next day he change his opinion ,most of his time he was fishing. We [... read more]
Melia Peninsula Varadero: The beach was the best part of our holiday.
We'd never taken an all-inclusive vacation before, so it was a new experience for us, and probably one that we wouldn't repeat. The best we can say is that the beach was nice, the grounds were pleasant, neat and tidy, and the staff were really warm and friendly. It was a cheap vacation.
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Still a great Resort
This was our 3rd time at this resort. We've tried other 5 stars in Cuba but always return to this one. The Beach, Pool and Grounds are breathtaking. The Staff go out of there way to make your vacation memorable. They are so friendly and accommodating. The accommodations, food & drinks are good (better then any resort we've been to in Cuba). Great value. Highly recommend this resort.
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Poor Value for Money - Food Very Disappointing
Highlights were beach and pool bar. Food was very disappointing (ie. buffets and al a cartes). Rooms were ok. Service was generally quite good. Sports activities were a joke as there was never anything available and server in sports hut slept more than he worked. Never any fresh beach towels available for exchange. Not a good resort for families. Not enough amenities for kids and teenagers. Resort not good value for the amount paid.
Hotel Camino del Mar: Great Resort, Amazing people!
This resort is the perfect size, everything is central and doesn't require a lot of walking. The beach is incredible and the different colours of the water are mesmerizing. What makes the resort is the people who run it, they are so friendly and personable and make every meal very enjoyable. Guillermo, Tony, and Edel are great servers in the buffet, make sure you get to know them! The only downfall is the little bugs, bring bug spray with lots of deet!
Melia Las Americas: Amazing resort
This resort is absolute heaven. The staff are friendly and there are plenty of commodities around the resort that make your stay memorable. I've been to Cuba four times myself and this time it was my girlfriend accompanying me to this resort. Out of all resorts i can confidently say this was the best Cuba has to offer to date. There are three pools and the views are amazing. We stayed in a bungalow with an amzing ocean view. Waking up in the mornings was worth it. The maid was very friendly and [... read more]
Melia Las Antillas: Happy week.
Amazing resort, we enjoy the daily shows, the food was good and fresh, the staff very friendly, the Catamaran with dolphins tour was awesome , The only part they have to fix is the elevators. En general everything was good. Thanks
Melia Las Dunas: Great resort, decent service
Needs a renovation, service was not very helpful, no clean towels all week, poor plumbing in rooms, can't flush toilet paper??!! Rooms weren't cleaned very well. Beach was awesome though, food was decent for Cuba, pools were nice
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Melia cayo santa maria
Nice place needs a bit of maintaining but still beautiful I would go back again hopefully next year Pool staff are excellent Rooms were clean fridge stocked daily Food wasn't bad in the buffet but a L A carte need some work
Melia Las Americas: Walk to golf each morning
Perfect location right on the golf course and on the beach. Rooms were clean but basic. Staff were friendly and accommodating for the most part but having a CUC in one hand at all times improved the service immensely. Food in Cuba is very different but you could find something that suited your taste and dietary needs. The Japanese restaurant was the best and would recommend making reservations when you first arrive. The ocean was beautiful, the onsite pools were very cold though.
