Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Nice resort
Nice hotel, spacious, comfortable rooms, resort easy to get around, nice pool, amazing beach, friendly staff. There is room for improvement Check in took 3 hours, room was not ready Service at beach restaurant was hectiqc But I still think it is one of the best hotels on Cayo Santa Maria, would recommend it to friends.
Melia Las Dunas: horrible
The hotel grounds was very beautiful... but the service was horrible... when i got to the resort to check in...they told me i wasent in their system....and they werent givinf me a room... finaly after arueing.. for over two hours they finaly gave me a room.......they never had any clean towels.. would put one small towel for two people in a room...there was no hot water running... to take a shower in my own room.. Melia Las Dunas: Very bad resort
Hotel was horrible staff was horrible very bad experience will never go there again. If you do end up going to the hotel make sure you bring a lot of towels because they never have towels on hand. If you don't mind bad customer service go to this place
Melia Jardines del Rey: beautiful resort. bad beach
I absolutely love this hotel and the people who work it. Everyone was so friendly towards us and service was spectacular. The beach is rocky so bring water shoes and you'll be fine.. without them you may want to stick to the pools. The Nats were really bad so bringing spray wouldn't hurt if that will get rid of them. Other than that everything was great including the food. We upgraded to elegance club and I don't recommend it.. I didn't find we had anything special other than our a la cartes wer [... read more]
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Loved our holiday.
Grounds are very well kept. Always able to get a chair at the pool and beach. Staff is wonderful. Rooms were a little disappointing. Ours smelled of mould, bathroom door in rough shape. Food and restaurants were great.
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Our favourite resort in Cuba
After 20 visits to Cuba, this remains our favourite resort. This was our fourth visit. In particular, we enjoy the gorgeous white powdery sand beach, the ideal location, having the choice of a five-storey hotel or a low rise units, very nice staff, and the scenic surroundings. Our favourite restaurant is there on the beach -- under the palm trees -- beside the azure water and the pure white sand. The food has always been plentiful and varied, and the various ethnic restaurants are interesting, b [... read more]
Melia Las Antillas: Melia Las Antillas
The resort itself needs to be upgraded, 16 years old, the rooms were decent size but need to be updated, wood dressers refinished, walls painted, etc. Pools are beautiful, ladies bathroom by pool just redone. Beach bar just reopened. Beach is beautiful. Food was surprisingly very good, buffet excellent. The front lobby needs some tile work done. Only 350 rooms, never too busy in any of the areas. Staff very pleasant and friendly. Nightly entertainment very good.
Melia Jardines del Rey: Not the best choice...
I was expecting more from Melia (I've been to Melia Varadero, Cayo Santa Maria and Cayo Guillermo before). Unfortunately I had an accident the very first day on my way to the beach, I slipped on a puddle of water (after a heavy rain the hotel did not clean the water) going down the stairs. Nobody seemed to care, I was called 2 days after(!!) to be asked if I was OK. I travelled alone and it was challenging to move around. The Cuban a la carte served me row fish (cooked from frozen), again no one [... read more]
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Midium Title-3 staars. no moore
Of course the beach and the sea (without any changing rooms) than Cuba known. Good music and show program. Everything else is BAD:-Service, Food is monotonous without traditional type of seafood, anywhere in the begging tip. The room does not match the price. Distance from the airport takes up almost half of the day. We been bitten by Miskito.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Good resort with amazing staff.
We have booked the Royal Service at Paradisus Del Mar 3x in 2 years. We have noticed the quality of the food has declined since our first visit. The Royal Service pooI needs a little upkeep. I have expressed it to management. Management has changed every time we have visited. I do have to express that the service from our butler Ernesto and Bar tenders Nacho and Mila at the beach makes us return. The beach service is amazing.
Starfish Cayo Largo: Issues unmentioned-
BEACH IS NOT SWIMMABLE - CURRENTS ARE TOO STRONG This fact alone made for biggest downside of the resort. We were told the morning after our arrival that you have to pay for taxi rides to bring you to other side of the island where beaches have less waves. The morning scramble to get onto a taxi was very unpleasant as people push ahead and drivers cram you inside the cab for a very uncomfortable ride.
Hotel Camino del Mar: Home away from home
I have visited this resort 4 times in the past 2 years.. the resort it's self needs a little TLC here and there, but if you go in with an open mind.. realizing that it is Cuba and not a 5 star Mexican resort you will love it. I'm a picky eater and have no problems with the food. The Beach is beautiful, pool is also a great place to be.. but the lining in some spots is coming up and needs to be fixed. The people who work at the resort go above and beyond to make sure you are happy and having the [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Great quality all around
comfortable beds, clean and fairly quiet rooms. Food was very good - much better than previous Cuba trips. Lots of chairs by the pool and beach, so no mad scramble to reserve your place. Beach is gorgeous.
Melia Las Dunas: Difficult to classify
200 characters, so point form. Beach - beautiful, pools - very nice. First room had non-functional plumbing, toilet and shower didn't work, squished bugs on walls. Second room, semi-functional plumbing, oh 200 characters was the minimum! Okay so switched rooms given 7 days is a long time to go with no shower or toilet. Second room everything at least partially worked and they did bring around some water. Did end up with a case of Castro's revenge that ended up lasting a full week after I got bac [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Pool and beach were good
We were a group of eleven. 3 of our rooms were entered at night when the occupants were in bed. One of the room was my daughter and 6 year old granddaughter which was not a pleasant experience. My granddaughter was awakened as well as her Mother at 11:45 P.M. Front desk reception area was not very helpful. Could not give us a reason how this could happen. One other room had an invasion of bugs. They were able to get another room, however not without threatening to go into the lobby and tell peop [... read more]
Hotel Camino del Mar: Not what I expected!
Beach and water good as well as the entertainment, however the resort is 2-3 stars the most. It is not my first time in Cuba such I know what to expect but this vacation was not really a vacation. One a la carte restaurant even they posted 3. The 'Italian'? Was in renovation and they were still booking even when painting and strong odour of paint. The Buffet was open but was not clean. My friend got sick from the second day. Be careful to the sand fleas. I never had a problem until this time. A [... read more]
Melia Varadero: Very Good Trip
Great beachfront and pool. Great hospitality by staff members. Nightly entertainment was good. The food was excellent the only thing was we had a hard time making reservations for the restaurants- could have been the time of year (Christmas). Overall, happy with our stay!
Paradisus Varadero: Good Resort
accommodation, food, diving all better than expected for Cuba. friendly staff, service is faster for those who tip. Exchange is bad at the hotel bank (65 CUC for $100.00 Cdn) Don't waste your money on a fishing excursion (not many sport fish on Atlantic side) Good variety of seashells on beach for collectors
Tryp Cayo Coco: Perfect as always!
Came back Dec 11 and planning to go back to Tryp in February! It was my 5th time in Tryp! Service, food, beach and entertainment is outstanding! Are you looking for a crazy parties? Tryp is the place to go!!!!
Melia Marina Varadero: AMAZING RESORT; GREAT LOCATION!
The hotel had everything that we had hoped for & more! Staff, grounds, food all EXCEEDED expectations! Catamaran tours leave from marina at hotel. Day trips to Havana and Varadero were great! We will be back!!!
