Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Third time at the Majestic, still a charm!

Wonderful experience, again. We've now stayed at all three of the Majestic resorts in Punta Cana; The Elegance, The Colonial, and now the Mirage. We're happy to report that each one of our holidays were excellent from start to finish. Our latest vacation was in February 2020, and we had a wonderful time. We stayed in a regular room with a roof-top "sky view" patio with a large jetted tub and bali bed. The room was fine if a bit small because of the rooftop feature, which we did use, but not  [... read more]a lot. We had a chance to see a regular room that has a larger, single-floor layout that in hindsight we would have preferred. But no complaints, just personal preference. If you don't try, you don't know, right? We wanted to see what a sky view room was all about. One good thing it did give us was a place to relax anytime there was a bit too much commotion from other guests enjoying the pool below. The Coffee shop was a favourite of both my wife (Mucho cafe, pocito leche) and myself (the amazing carrot cake, wow!). Our butler, Samuel, was very attentive and kept in touch with us using WhatsApp, and checked in to see if we need anything at all daily. He made all our restaurant reservations for us, and when a couple who had joined us was celebrating a birthday, Samuel and Jeremy (our friends' butler) coordinated a beautiful romantic dinner on the beach for us! Bavaro beach is always great, one of the best in my humble opinion. There are plenty of chairs and lots of shade available on the beach. When walking up and down the beach we compared our beach comfort and amenities to adjacent resorts, and the Majestic is by far the best option for those who like to spend their day relaxing on the beach. There are also lots of spots to spend the day lounging by the pools, which run the length of the resort. Restaurants are all fine, typical fare for this class. The resort is very clean everywhere you look and every staff member always greets guests with a smile. All in all, another wonderful getaway at the Majestic--we're looking forward to our next stay!

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Beautiful resort!

Had a great time at this beautiful resort. Fast check in, heard we should upgrade to priveledged room which was lovely although we never had facecloths then waited all day to get them. The main buffet food was fantastic, the ala carte not so much. Hard to get a shady spot at the beach if u went before nine, quite a bit of “saving” going on since one I woke early at 5 and there STILL weren’t many to be found. Room service food was horrible, stay away. Overall it was lovely, just didn’t like the feeling that it was the big tipppers were the ones that pushed their way to the front and got served first.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Great Adults only Resort

As part of a group of 12, we spent 2 weeks at this resort. Very clean throughout, and a big plus is that they had enough beach chairs for all guests. We never had a time where we couldn't locate a chair, so NO getting up at 7am to claim chairs on beach! The rooms were spacious. Entertainment varied throughout the week. Italian restaurant, Blend tied for our favourites. Suggestions to improve: Turn down music at pool, very loud. At cocktail hour there was music from the cigar/drink hut, plus the music near pool bar both playing at same time.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Awesome resort

Awesome resort The grounds were very clean it was nice to see the birds and the fish and the turtle on the grounds The pathways where clean and easy to get to places. The pools were big and also clean, The food was amazing the restaurants were excellent with excellent staff and fantastic service.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Worst resort ever

in your booklet you have this resort as a 4 1/2 star it is a 3 star at the best. Day one no water, air conditioning, couldn't flush toilets; day 2 no water for part of the day, no air conditioning the heat in the room was unbearable, no hot water. Day 3 no electricity for part of the day. Day 4 couldn't get beach towels; day 5 couldn't get a chair at the beach; day 6, had to file a complaint with the desk to have our sheets changed. For the two weeks it was a never ending struggle to get th [... read more]e basics in our room, bath towels, face cloths, hand towels. Every day we need to get someone to clean pigeon droppings off our balcony. The carpet in the front lobby was filthy dirt what a welcoming sight. We tried to use the telephone in our room and find out it was there for a decoration only no cord going from the telephone to the jack in the wall. Took 6 days to get this fixed. There was mold everywhere throughout the building, water running down from the ceilings during the rain and you could see where the ceilings were never fixed, mold and the paint peeling off. The floor in the main lobby had a big hole where the tiles had broken and left a huge gap. The rest of the tiles where loose and you were scared to walk on them for fear of falling through. Our beach beach wraps got stolen off the beach so much for security on the beach. We were suppose to have a butler, well that was a joke we saw him when we arrive and only one more time when we found him, not him looking for us. The resort is next to a marina and the diesel and waste from the boats made the water very murky and a greasy layer on top of the water. How this beach ever got rated a 5 in your booklet is unbelievable. The We filed a number of complaints as that was the only way they paid attention and we got things done. The Air Canada Representative William was useless, we left him message which were never returned. This is the first time in the past 22 years of going down south that we couldn't go in the ocean for fear of getting sick. Of the hundreds of people on the beach you saw maybe five people in the water at anytime. Our first 8 days of vacation were so stressful that the vacation was ruined. We paid $3500.00 each for this 4 1/2 Star vacation got a three star at best. There were never enough loungers or beach towels on the beach, people were fighting our loungers and stealing towels. It was unreal for a 4 1/2 Star resort. If you check our file you will see we have been travelling with Air Canada Vacations for the past number of years and have been totally satisfied with the resorts in your booklet. We have mostly travelled to adult 5 or 4 1/ 2 Star resorts, so these numerous complaints are not frivolous. We know what to expect and this resort didn't even come close. I have taken numerous pictures of the dirt, mold, water, marina and a number of other things that we disgusting, I will say we did enjoy the food and some of the staff. I felt so sorry for the staff for the number of complaints they dealt with in a day. Every resort we went to over the years the staff were very cheerful and helpful. When you walked by the staff at the resort they just walked by like you weren't even there. We talked to a lot of people at the resort and they were also very unhappy. I would like to hear from someone in your organization that is a decision maker and can offer some form of compensation for this mess. VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Beautiful Beach

I vacationed at this resort the week of March 2-2020. The resort is small however the rooms were amazingly clean and very well maintained. Amazing Beach, Staff and Food. Nice Pool . Not a lot of activities to keep you going though. Just a little quite for me .

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Not recommended!

The hotel and rooms were clean and fairly well maintained. We had 4 days of rain which is out of everyone's control however the common areas of the hotel did not have enough seating for guests to socialize or sit to have a drink or play games. The service in the bar was poor mainly because there was not enough staff....a four sided bar with 3 servers! Food quality and selection at the buffet was poor. Many of the lunch choices were the exact same at dinner (potatoe dishes, bean dishes, dess [... read more]erts, chicken dishes). The Japanese and Steak House were outstanding. Staff was very friendly and helpful. This hotel showed a 5 star on Tripcentral.....should be only a 3 star.

Occidental Caribe: A great Resort

The hotel area is clean the food was great the rooms were usually clean quite well the staff were polite the people who work the pool bar are always fun exciting entertainment at night was great in the hall and the entertainment by the bar was always fun to watch like watching the karaoke overall it was a great Resort

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Great Resort

The hotel was spotless, room was great awesome rain showers, pools were clean, the food was fantastic...especially the Brazilian restaurant, the beach is beautiful with crystal clear blue water. The only downfall was the service at the pool areas it seemed on a daily basis that there was not enough staff to effectively service the amount of people.

Iberostar Waves Punta Cana: Amazing resort

Wonderful resort with beautiful grounds, amazing beach and wonderful restaurants. Grounds were meticulous. Staff were very friendly. Entertainment Shows were very good . Our rooms were very clean. We were celebrating our Anniversary and received champagne in our room for our arrival as well as dinner reservations at the Italian restaurant.

Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus: Caribbean Paradise!

This Iberostar resort was outstanding in every way during our Feb19-Mar4/20 vacation. The facility was terrific, very clean and well maintained, staff were all fantastic and very friendly and the food was plentiful, diverse and excellent. Well done Iberostar!!

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: It was nice

Resort was very clean with amazing restaurants. We enjoyed unlimited and no reserve idea for restaurants. Lounge chairs were better than other resorts. Only negative thing was the pushy timeshare people. Every building had an attendant on duty and his job was to send you to timeshare. They got a little rude when we refused. We also had a problem with having our fridge stocked. When we ask for beer, the guy who delivered came right out and asked for a tip. My husband told him it’s part of se [... read more]rvice after he asked three times for money. We were furious at his attitude and complained. Can’t say that we would return to this resort.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: February vacation

Hello everyone we travelled tonSunscape in Perot Plata from February 26-March 3rd. Our flight was with Aur Transat no problems with either airports but the seats seem to be getting closer. We arrived at Sunscaoe about 2:30 in the afternoon, front desk were busy but very nice. We had the bell boy bring out luggage to the 7 section as we payed for deal of the day. The a la Carter’s are all good and you don’t need a reservation. There is always a Waite for the food hut worth it, the steakhouse is the best. These restaurants are located on the 2nd floor, there is also a guy making the best pizza from 7-11 and if you don’t like something go to the pizza guy or the Buffett. The beach is great for walking and good for snorkelling and swimming. There is many vendors on the beach be polite and just answer no thank you. There is music shows and acting but it’s a little repetitive, there is a small disco in the beach bar from 11-2:30am. We had 3 days of Rain but this isn’t the resorts fault. When the sun was shining you will see the beauty of this resort and the people working here have a nice trip.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Beautiful resort!

Was very impressed at the Senator. Extremely clean, staff are always consistently keeping all inside and outside areas spotless. Was pleasantly surprised with the buffet selections, a la cartes were all very, very good. Transat rep was amazing and very helpful when inquiring and booking excursions. Only issue we had (as with most resorts), not enough loungers at the pool and beach unless you are out at daylight and try to reserve loungers. The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Excellent resort!!

We had a great time specially the Entertainment team. A big thumbs up to Nadiuska, Yefrey, Starlin, Chocolate and Wesley.The resort was great and the food was pretty good too. Staff at this resort was attentive and always ready to help. Thanks Kathleen Emmans (Trip Central) for recommending us this resort. You were a great help too. I will definitely call you for our next trip.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Great vacation

The resort is beautiful itself. The rooms do need some updating. We had an issue with our air conditioner that they didn’t seem to resolve, however eventually they did ask if we wanted to switch rooms. The a la carte restaurants on site have great food. The buffet never has a shortage of food. The grounds are well kept and clean. The entertainment staff is friendly and social. It would have been nice to see more activities during the day around the pool like they use to a few years a [... read more]go. The maid service was great and friendly. Nightly entertainment was ok. As we have been before, we have seen most of the shows. This is not the resort’s fault by any means.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Amazing resort

Was good all around thank you trip central. We enjoyed the food. The people are friendly. Clean and beach was well kpet and beutiful. The water on the private beach was good. Selisiting was not bad...

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Beautiful

Family of 4 (2 teenagers), 2 adjoining rooms. The grounds, the pools, the bathrooms were meticulously maintained. The staff always eager to help. All worthy of a 5 star. Overall great stay ... however a few things needs adjusting: 1.our room had a humidity/sewer smell for most of the week... the hotel put a dehumidifier and sprayed lemon but the smell remained throughout the week in one of the rooms (we were in building 12) 2. there should be a better way to go to the restaurants and not be  [... read more]disappointed because they close at 10PM... we arrived at the restaurant at 7h30 (yes a little late, but hey were on vacation and it was our last night)- we would have really wanted to finish our week at the steak house (the best of the a la carte), but there was a 2 hour wait and the restaurant closed at 10h .so they didn't take our reservation. The lighting in the restaurant could also be improved... except for the steakhouse and Yin (the japanese), they were all ‘way’ too bright. Lastly, the beach however beautiful it is (sand, clear water) is very crowded in front of the resort. Took long walks to get away from the crowd, and also very much enjoyed our day at Saona island... beautiful, way less people, saw starfish, great day!

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Amazing resort

The resort grounds were immaculate, the rooms are beautiful and the staff are amazing. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone. It is not too big so easy to get around and you have many choices for food at all times, you can have a quiet day at one pool or you can sit at the party pool where there is always something going on. The beach was amazing and kept very clean.

Vista Sol Punta Cana: Amazing resort

Everything is great about this resort!!The sea view room was beautiful to have!! Three pools to enjoy ‘ All the staff was friendly! The food was very good overall! The gourmet cuisine was my favourite! I would go back in a heartbeat!
