Riu Palace Paradise Island: Dated hotel, needs a face lift!

It was a second visit to RIU on Paradise Island On the first visit 3 years ago we had a good time, so we booked for a second time... and we where unpleasantly surprised how things changed Hotel looks dated and Needs to be renovated, food was also not so grate On the arrival they used to serve full dinner ... not this time... we where gritted with cold hotdogs and cold burgers and some lettuce ( they did not have enough vegetables for all grup that came that day...) I feel that people from Tripcentral should notify us on the purchase I would not recommend this hotel at this point It was our 7th time to Bahamas, love the islands, but will try different hotel next time or wait until this one will be renovated

Sandals Royal Bahamian: Sandals Bahamas

3 night stay. Friday thru Monday. Check in was slow and a bit over the top. At least 30 mins to get thru process where they try to explain everything. Personal escort to the room where baggage arrived later. Grounds are very nice but the beach is realitively small and not really walkable. Food is acceptable but not anything to write home about. Only real complaint would be that after a Friday arrival and a day at the beach Saturday we returned to our room at 5:00 to find it hadn't been cleaned. [... read more] Getting ready for dinner 1 HR later a knock at the door to clean the room was not well received. We simply got a few new towels and sent her in the way. Sunday was no better...again we returned to a room that hadn't been touched. Really! Should also note that a Late nite snack plate sat outside our room for 3 days and was still there when we left in Monday . Must say staff are friendly but that is my experience with all Bahamian residents. It was my first sandals experience would try again but not in Nassau.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Location is fantastic

The hotel is very old but you can't complain because it's a good price. Who wants to spend time in their room anyway when the beach is so amazing. The food is great. The fridge broke and the coffee maker didn't work which was mildly annoying but once you get to the beach it doesn't matter. I can't wait to visit again

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Good value for the $

Grounds were nice, food at buffet below pár but beach is beautiful and staff are very nice and helpful. Hotel itself is a bit outdated bút clean and offers all amenities. Next door to altlantis. Short cab ride to downtown Nassau. Jet ski is 5* Enjoy

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Lovely resort and staff

Beautiful hotel, the staff was very friendly, very hospitable. Good variety of food everyday, very clean! The only issue would be the beds. We were three adults sharing what seemed like two twin beds pushed together...the hotel would do well to bring in proper, full double beds. Other than that we had a wonderful time!

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Enjoyed my vacation

This is a place that one can really enjoy their vacation. However it has its good, bad, and ugly sides: Good: Beautiful views of the pool and beach from our room. Excellent variety of foods; friendly and attentive staff; plenty to drink; less than 5 mins walk into Atlantis and its entertainments; plenty of things to do off the hotel grounds, easy ride into downtown for shopping or sight seeing and local food in the fish fry area. The beach  [... read more]is awesome and so clear you can see school of fish swimming around you without having to use goggles Bad: The daily and nightly entertainment needs some upgrading; the gym could use a room with a view to outside Ugly: At first glance our room looked very good. Then the details started been visible... carpet is shredding and has holes in some places; furniture and doors are badly banged up and worn; green stuff growing on pipe fixtures and towel hangers in bathroom and floor constantly wet from some leaking; TV and phone issues; cleaning staff forgetting to remove dirty pillow cases and towels from the room after changing them. The place needs some upgrading badly.

Breezes Bahamas: "Breezes was Amazing"

Out recent stay at the Breezes was just what the doctor ordered. The resort was more than I expected, after reading all the reviews about the resort I was a bit skeptical. However am so glad that I got my own personal experience and I must say, do not believe everything you read, have your own experience. The room was a good size room thank God I had a king size bed with lots of room...the view was great, the food was delicious. The service was excellent, especially those that serve in the dini [... read more]ng area. What do people really expect to pay for a 3 star hotel and received a 5 star service. If they want that kind of service then go pay for a 5 star and get a 3 star service. Exellent food near by atlantis hotels room service was excellent ocean views was great majority of staff were great except one of them was amazzing u will meet her when u go there such a awsome best smile lots of fun

Sandals Royal Bahamian: Butler service not worth it

The hotel itself is beautiful. Everyone is friendly, food is amazing, always pool/beach chairs available. The issue we had was with the butler service. We paid an extra $ 1000.00 to have this service, and we were ignored the entire time. They gave us a cell phone, but they either didn't answer, or the phone was dead. They had to go to their Manager to request a charger for it. We waited several hours for a response from our butlers. Total waste waste waste of money.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: not so good

It's definitely a 3 star not 4 star resort. It needs to be updated. And resort stuff could be friendlier. Air conditioning leaked, not enough variety of food selection, not enough tables at buffet, huge lineups to get to a restaurant. Beach terrible to cramped and public. Wouldn't go again to that hotel even though we have been at RIU resorts before in other countries. We went because of Atlantis but next time once Beach Resort goes all inclusive that's where we would stay.

The Royal at Atlantis: fantastic trip

Was in in Nassau from Dec 5th to Dec 15th , stayed at the beach towers at Atlantis, the resort was beautiful and the staff was so nice! The beach is beautiful, and the pools were awesome too! Will revisit in the future and trip central was great to book with!

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Best trip of life

Food was insanely amazing. Employees were so friendly and happy. Resort was just beautiful. Just amazing. Wow. My first world problem would be the room. The bed isn't the most comfiest. But that's really all.

Sandals Royal Bahamian: Great Resort!!

The resort was lovely, staff very friendly and the food was amazing. We paid a lot of money for an oceanview which to me wasn't worth it because we only saw a glimpse of it. Very disappointed with that. Room service took a very long time, over an hour each time for a simple order.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Wonderful and relaxing

While the decor was slightly outdated, we had a wonderful time at the Riu Palace. The staff were all amazing and kind, everyone (and I mean everyone) made sure we were happy and comfortable for our entire stay. The beach and access were beautiful and felt safe to walk on and enjoy the view. The food at the resort was delicious. We ate at the Krystal and the Gourmet restaurants as well as the Buffet. It definitely needs a little updating, but I think they are planning that anyway. The pool was nice enough.... could have used a hot tub though. The three days we were there were quite windy and cool. We used the gym area and it was nice as well, weights from 5lbs up to 50lbs and machines, also cold water available -- was lacking towels for wiping perspiration as it was incredible hot in the gym. Overall we had a wonderful time, drank delicious drinks, ate amazing food and relaxed fully! Was totally worth what we paid.

The Royal at Atlantis: BEAUTIFUL RESORT

The hotel is beautiful, the grounds are well kept and most of all the staff is amazing. Very polite always greeting you and going the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable. This is my second visit at Atlantis and I am never disappointed. The only con it's very expensive at the resort. We ate out most of the time love the Bahamian food. Overall we would give this resort 3 out of 5 stars. I was surprised and a little disappointed to see that the Riu did not live up to the reputation of a resort in the "Bahamas". While it was an enjoyable trip there were a few things that could have been much better. Having paid for an all-inclusive get away I was irritated to find out at check in that the a la carte meals were first-come first-serve and we were unable to make reservations. While the buffet was delicious I felt that we were a little over-dressed for the meal as we had dressed for a proper dinner service. While it didn't bother me that much, it was a little awkward to have some staff ask us to get them drinks and food. Pros -pool was warm, plenty of seating -front desk staff very welcoming and helpful -early check in due to early morning arrival -room was very clean, excellent maid service -food was delicious, good variety, friendly wait staff -access to Atlantis was convenient -luggage storage before and after check-in while waiting to leave for the airport Cons -bartending, towel and beach staff were not friendly or attentive -lack of night entertainment -a la carte restaurants closed with no notice -no music on the pool deck during the day

The stay at the Riu Paradise Island was good. The hotel rooms and the whole place including the pool need updating/renovating. The place was clean, did not see any type of a bug or any issues. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was great lot's of variety.. but it is not a 5 star old and out dated.. The beaches are great a little rough for my liking but beautiful.. The hotel should have a shuttle to the Atlantis as it is a 20 minute walk and if you do not want to walk it is a 20 [... read more] dollar cab ride a bit expensive 4 dollars a person. 5 of us was 20 dollars. We did have a great time with our friends, my friends liked everything about the resort and so did I but again it is very out dated. You should not have carpets in the rooms it should be tiles so it should not be too damp and musty smell.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Amazing resort...

We were there for one week and I have to say it was one of the best vacations I have ever had. The staff was wonderful and so accommodating. The first night we arrived they were putting us on the 15th floor. That was a smoking floor and we asked to be moved and they moved us to another floor and upgraded us to a better room. We had an amazing view of the ocean from our balcony, we loved it. The food was the best I have had to date. The buffet was so good, the variety of food was amazing. The a l [... read more]a cart restaurants were wonderful. For an older resort it is well maintained and I loved that everything was close meaning the pool and the beach. The beach was beautiful. We were there Nov 27th to Dec 4th and the weather was great. I would recommend this resort in heart beat, I will certainly be going back there again.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Paradise

Stayed for a week at the Riu Palace in Paradise Island. Amazing Ocean view room. Food was great, lots of fresh vegetables, vegetarian options, lots of variety...something for everyone. The resort staff was welcoming and always quick to respond. I would definitely recommend this resort and return. Beach was amazing.

Sandals Royal Bahamian: So-so vacation

I heard a lot about this resort after booking and some of it was true. Beautiful Resort, many of the restaurants fantastic (Kimonos, Gordons), private island vlery beautiful and relaxing. However, wasn't what I fully expected from Sandals - check-in was painful, service at Baccarat very slow, pool bar service also slow and entertainment was geared for over 60 year olds. And pools were freezing cold!! Certainly didn't live up to my expectations.
