Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Great Resort!

This was our first family all inclusive trip with my two daughters Ten and eight . We had a amazing time the resort, room, the food everything was awesome.. The resort itself wasn’t overly large which we loved , it gave the kids a little more freedom to roam around in their own. The water slides, the splash pad all the pools, kids just had a great time. The entertainment at night was easily the best we have ever seen at resorts. Highly recommend this resort to other families!

Barcelo Maya Palace: Beautiful resort

Huge resort, very clean , beautiful, pretty modern nice and open would definitely recommend to friends, great food , adult pool section was also great.. quiet and calm....peaceful resort !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Very nice resort

Advantage of this resort is the access to other resorts and restaurants of Barcelo Maya. Nice, clean, high level service, everyone could find activities by their needs. Our room in Tropical was outdated and needs some fixing.

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Overall an amazing gem in Playacar

This is our first all inclusive experience and Sandos Playacar definitely put a high bar for us. Food - great selections from buffet to ala carte options. If you could book the ala carte restaurant right after you get your room number please do so as they booked up pretty fast. We are lucky to have been able to try all of their ala carte restaurants by booking them in their Sandos App and walk in on others as they were fully booked when we get there. Beach were great especially if you come when there’s not much wind as these brings huge waves and seaweeds on the shore. Entertainment - the best!!! Theres a night show every night, daily activities by the adults pool and family area. Not to add that there’s multiple food and beverages sections around the beach area. We got the select superior room which gave us a gold bracelet that allows us to have premium liquors and access to places that other tier such as Blue bracelet can’t get into. Service - we really enjoyed our experiences in all of the ala carte as they are more fine dining than your normal buffet. We find that service is much better and amazing ambiance overall. Thank you Isaac, Hermelindo and Pedro for giving us the most memorable experience at Le Gourmet. Spa - we got treated poorly by the front desk staff Sebastian just because we change our treatment from full Body to Relaxing treatment. The massage for my partner was great but the person did mine wasn’t relaxing at all, it was way softer than anything Ive experienced. Booked our tours through seek and go! Thank you Cristobal for going above and beyond and making sure we got our transport sorted even after your shift! Another shoutout to Lorraine for being sweet, and calm. Called midnight to ask for a cream for sunburn and she made sure we got them on time. Overall great experience except for the room quality and spa desk staff experience.

Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Wasn't as good as looked

People were very nice...food very mediocre....no bath tub service was very slow pool was freezing Japanese restaurant was very good the kids also really enjoyed the entertainment and dancing at night they went to kids club alot and enjoyed that

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Lush and peaceful

Loved the forest setting, multiple pool choices, the main square where food is served and entertainment provided. Resort is clean, staff very friendly! Great choice of restaurants with very good food!

The Reef 28 Playa del Carmen: Great Hotel!

Staff was unreal with really good service, food was pretty good with 3 restaurant options on site (Asian and Italian rotate). Great option if you are ok leaving the hotel and checking out the city. Feels pretty safe on 5th Avenue (tourist market street) and only a 5 minute walk from the public beach.

Dreams Riviera Cancun: Nice resort Great if you have kids

It was a bit cold when we arrived, so we didn’t get the chance to use the pool, although some guests were still swimming. The hotel itself is nice and fairly basic, but the rooms are comfortable and well kept. We had a balcony with an ocean view, which made the stay very relaxing. The food was good overall. There isn’t a dedicated entertainment area, so any entertainment takes place on the stairs near the main bar. The spa was enjoyable, though some areas of the resort could use updating. We strongly recommend that you don’t book with Air Transat even the staff at the resort said they are not a great company, all of their complaints are from guests travelling with Air Transat.

Hilton Tulum Riviera Maya All Inclusive: Great resort!

Travelled with husband and 9year old son. Looking for cleanliness and quiet and it delivered on both. Great breaky/lunch buffet - fresh and changed up daily so it didn’t get boring. Staff very friendly and helpful in every way. Dinner reservations needed and easily done through concierge. Lots of options for pools and beach loungers. Never had to look for a spot ever. Ocean Maya Royale: Another Great Visit...only one glitch

This was our 4th visit to Ocean Maya Royale, and it didn’t disappoint once we sorted out the room during check in. Last year when we left, we received a letter indicating a room upgrade if we came again within the year, which we did. When I inquired by email about what kind of upgrade we could expect and request certain locations on the property to stay, Luis indicated that "they would be happy to offer us a Privilege Junior Suite". We were surprised, but looked forward to a new experience.  [... read more]Upon arrival, I presented his email; and we were refused his offer. Additionally, the room location that was initially indicated was none of the buildings we requested. Not sure how the wires got crossed, but we were very disappointed. It did turn out well, as they did give us another building with an Oceanview upgrade and had a lovely 11 nights. It was just frustrating that a senior staff member would offer something that was not acknowledged upon our arrival.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen: 9/10 Resort!

Positives: This hotel is beautiful and the property is extremely well cared for. The staff is very friendly and we had an amazing time here. We upgraded to La Perla with a swim out but because of the time of year it was very cold and the hotel accommodated our request to ditch the swim out for a regular adults side room. The playa del carmen side was beautiful and seemed like a great time but we really enjoyed our time at the adults side and the reserve package was worth every dollar. We staye [... read more]d majority of the time on the reserve and enjoyed the access to the special areas such as the restaurant and the private beach access. We also used the spa services at an additional cost and it was worth every dollar. Negatives: The food was great for breakfast and lunch but aside from the hibachi we found the food lacking for dinner. The reservations were easy enough to make but the food itself for dinner in our opinion was 5/10. You could for sure find something at the buffet but we were not very impressed overall at dinner. Another reason for lack of points is because of the steakhouse. The steakhouse is not included with the all inclusive and so you have to pay for everything at that restaurant. It was very annoying because dinner options were already not so great and it felt like a money grab to have to pay for the steak house. It would have been ok if it was apart of the all inclusive but had menu items for sale , however that was not the case. Overall the hotel was beautiful, the beach was lovely, the food was good enough, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were incredible. The vibe was quiet with small bursts of excitement and a slightly older crowd on the adults side. We would for sure go again.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great Location

Fabulous location, rooms cleaned daily, friendly staff and great food. The food is actually better than intown and better prices. My only suggestion is the furniture dragging on the floor from anyone upstairs. SOOOO LOUD. They need something to buffer the noise. It is like nails on a chalkboard. Beds are very comfortable and so are pillows. This review is for the Fives Downtown Playa NOT the Fives Beach Hotel and Residence which I will never stay at again. Front staff there could care less that we were almost robbed and made nothing but excesses for the staff who I caught red handed.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Quiet, luxurious resort with access to all facilities at 4 other hitels

Sian Ka’an offers large rooms with complimentary fully stocked mini-bar, 24 hour room service, the possibility of reserving a different gourmet restaurant each night, 24 hour snack bar, different shows every night with the possibility to going to other shows at the 4 other hotels, shuttle service to the other hotels and Hacienda Dona Isabel, a charming shopping arcade . Request that air conditioning be adjusted or turned off or you will freeze.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great Resort

We liked the resort, the food, the bars, the service, the cleanliness.....good vacation. Beach area is not huge, but OK. Lots of seaweed.... but was cleaned up every morning. Would consider this resort again

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Second time around ?

After 3 years we returned to Bahai Príncipe Grand Tulum as we enjoyed it so much. The second time around was just as enjoyable with the exception of the food. In all aspects, buffet and a la carte, the quality was somewhat disappointing. Also we felt we would try the Sian Ka’an Tulum ( part of the same complex as it is adult only and quieter Not to say we didn’t enjoy Grand Tulum but as a couple of oldsters we feel next time a more sedate environment would be better. Secrets Tulum Resort and Beach Club: Not what we expected from a secrets resort…

This resort was a bit disappointing for us and not what we were expecting for the price. The entertainment was lacking and the food was not good. We had a few good dishes but overall the restaurants were disappointing and the buffet was very limited for breakfast, but I loved Rosalina at the omelette station, she was friendly and the omelettes were perfection!! The service however, was excellent, the drinks were great and the hotel itself is very beautiful but I feel they could expand on daily a [... read more]ctivities and nightly one’s (in particular the YouTube concerts projected on a wall). The amenities in the room are great and service to the room was outstanding! The beach club was very nice but could use a few more chairs and some umbrellas on the beach. Also we did not like being forced to sit down with the uvc rep the second we arrived after 12 hours of travel, she was pushy and really was a poor first impression. Overall the resort could use some improvements, I think improving the food would increase the value by a lot. We enjoyed our stay overall and see this resort as having a lot of potential to be great someday.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: We love Valentin and keep coming back.

This is our 6th 2 week stay since 2017 and have only missed because of Covid and illness. otherwise it would be 10 visits out of 10. We love the naturally scenic infrastructure, walking and nature paths, beach access,specialty restaurants and formal attire rules, and friendly, responsive staff. It truly is a pleasure to stay. However, the journey from Toronto was incredibly tiring, unfortunately the plane had to be changed and baggage removed. The flight from Toronto to Cancun was 3 1/2 hours [... read more]. From arriving at Cancun Airport it took 3 1/4 hours to reach the resort! Baggage handlers disappeared, ground transportation was chaotic and as a result we will probably not fly with Westjet again and will book the resort directly with Valentin and they will arrange all ground transportation.

Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun: Unhappy with changes made by new management

This trip was our 5th visit to this resort. During the first two visits the resort was Azul and then the Palmar Beach Resort (two visits). It is now part of the Iberostar chain. We are in our mid-70's and my wife has mobility issues. Initially we selected this resort because it was quite small with little walking to the pools, buffet and most restaurants, if situated centrally (i.e., building 2 or 3). During our first stay, we were in a first floor room in building 3. One issue was that we w [... read more]ere not able to use the pools closest to that building because access was via ladders, rather than steps with a railing. This was not an issue because the Adult Only Pool was only about 20 metres away and had appropriate handicapped access (i.e., steps with a railing). During our next 3 stays, we went for the more expensive option of a swim-up room in building 2. This provided stair and railing access for my wife and allowed us water access via swimming channels to the Adult Pool with a swim-up bar and various activities. This was ideal as Building 2 is also close to the majority of services/restaurants. We requested the same room for our most recent stay, but quickly found out that we could no longer access the pool which, under the new management, was reserved for Prestige Iberostar members. Thus we were paying for an expensive swim-up room with no water access to any of the pools. That is, a swim-up room with nowhere to swim. Our immediate complaint to management was answered quickly, and we were offered a room in building 1 which also has swim-up rooms. Building 1 connects to a different pool which also has a swim-up bar and various activities. However, the walking distances associated with Building 1 were too great for my wife to deal with. Although the two-tier guest issue is annoying, the big problem is the absence of stair/ramp with railing access to all the pools except the pool now designated Prestige only. We would have been happy with Building 3 on our first stay (and subsequent stays)if my wife had been able to get in and out of the adjacent pools. This would also be a cheaper option than a swim-up room. We will not go back to this resort useless the pool access issues are solved. Over the course of our two week stay, we talked to several other guests who had the same problems/concerns. On the positive side, the food and other services at this resort are very good. The service and cleaning staff are great and the rooms are comfortable. The new management has opened a 24 hour cafe that makes getting coffee and snacks quite easy. As well, there is a new system for obtaining drinking water in which guests can fill up a container at convenient water stations rather than relying on the delivery of plastic bottles. Although this resort is not a "night-life" type of place, the nightly entertainment has improved. Apart from the access issue, the pools are clean and well-maintained. The beach however is small and is plagued with the seaweed problem that is an issue for many resorts in this area. Of the 5 times we have been to this resort only twice have I been able to swim/snorkel off the shore without seaweed issues. In summary, we have enjoyed our stays at this resort in the past, but will not return unless pool access issues are resolved. We do not recommend this resort to people with mobility issues. We do not recommend this resort for a "beach" holiday.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Beautiful Resort-Slow service

The grounds where amazing, the service for check in was extremely long and overall service was slow but friendly. the food is ok but not great. the booking of restaurants is completely ridiculous, need to do online only and only as of mid night so very hard for people with small children or elderly who are not computer technical and impossible to book for more than 4 people at a time. the food at restaurants is disappointing after all the hassle. the waterpark was shut down several days and n [... read more]ever completely opened, our children hurt there backs and had scratches from the waterpark so not recommended. the wildlife was the best part. would not return.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing staff

I found this hotel to be beautifully maintained and loved all the tropical plants. Every time I turned around there were smiling friendly people ready to help make your stay enviable. The food was really good and I enjoyed the 2 restaurants we went to. Everyone from the servers to the maids to the bartenders were very nice. It was my first vacation in 10 years and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
