Sunscape Bavaro Beach: Nice Place

Front desk rude and pushy to upgrade and after want us to stay on the regular rooms because the upgrade rooms were full. Rest of the stuff very nice and pleasant to speak too. Great food and room service. Would go back without upgrade.

Sunscape Splash: Valuable Resort for vacation

I think it's worth of my payment. The food, beach, facility are good enough for me. This resort is smaller comparing with others I have been. The staffs are friendly. I have to mention one thing. When we arrived resort, the staff told us we could have a breakfast at another 5 star resort next day with a resort staff, and we would offer a coupon of 100USD for this, we accepted because we think it is welcome breakfast - why not accept. The staff asked me some private questions and try to know previous vacations and how much I have paid for them. He persuaded us to be a member of their resort group in order to get discount in future. Actually, I don't like this marketing mode, I feel pressure for this. This activity last about 2 hours, really too long. I don't want limit my vacation destination by such a membership. This is what I don't like.

Sunscape Bavaro Beach: Good bang for the buck

First time at this resort and we enjoyed our time. Most staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were pretty clean and serviced everyday. Beach/pools were great. Everything was so close together there was never a far walk anywhere. Food was pretty good, a la cartes were great, especially the japenese (We ate there a couple of times). Sometimes as you walked to and from you could smell sewage, but not for too long. overall , great trip. would recommend.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Same beach, same people, but different resort

I stayed at Sunscape and it didn't feel the same this year. Last year we were warmly greeted with a cocktail, private check-in in the Convention Center, and given an appointment to talk about excursions. This year we lined up for quite a while in the lobby getting our room keys, etc. No cocktail. The room was spacious and comfortable, but the dryer didn't work and there wasn't enough hot water. Also there was no peace and quiet. There was terrible noise from the resorts on Mambo Beach.  [... read more] Other nights there was loud music from a party by the Dive Shop, so loud we couldn't hear the band singing by the pool. In the afternoon there was a loud speaker blaring from in front of the Japanese restaurant. We had four nights out of the seven when we were trying to settle for the night with loud music outside. I notice signs that the resort needs attention, peeling paint and missing shingles. There is only one cafe serving the whole resort, which meant long lineups and supplies running out. There are only two very small shuttle buses a day going into town. We had to book ahead and were squeezed into the tiny bus with babies, strollers, etc. Couldn't there be a bigger bus and more frequent buses? br /> We were harassed to attend a presentation about the other resorts owned by the company and to join a travel club, every time we asked a question at the VIP desk. He kept talking about the new resort being built in Aruba. Maybe that's where the money is going. We finally attended the presentation to get free vouchers, but it was a waste of time for us. The food was good, but nothing special. All in all, there was a tired look and feeling about the place. The wi-fi was overpriced at $30 a device. The gift shops were always empty, all overpriced, chintzy stuff. Last year the staff lined up at the door to wave goodbye to us, but not this year, just on the bus and on our way. Same beach, same colourful fish, warm water. However, I wouldn't go back to Sunscape

Sunscape Bavaro Beach: Upset that we didn’t get our deposit back from trip central. We will not be booking through trip central again.

We booked our trip in early November to go to sunscape Bavaro in Punta Cana. We have always booked our vacations with tripcentral. Unfortunately we had to cancel early in December as one of us found out we would have to start chemo and radiation ASAP. We had to both cancel but gave plenty of time advising tripcentral of the situation. Sunscape Curacao Resort: Love it

Amazing staff, Great food, lots of choices, something for everyone. Resort is a bit older, but rooms were nice and clean-hot water for showers was an issue sometimes. Overall, great time, fantastic weather, would recommend this resort.

Sunscape Bavaro Beach: Middle of the Road

For the most part, the hotel and its premises were reasonably kept and up to expectation; the best part was the excellent quality of the matresses in the rooms so you were guaranteed a good night's rest. The room cleaning service we found to be quite inadequate.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Awesome week

The beach was beautiful! We played beach volleyball almost everyday with different people on the resort! Lots of food options! Italian restaurant was our fav! If you do an excursion, the 12 waterfalls are absolutely amazing! Staff and drinks great!

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Very Nice Resort

The resort has all of the major things down pat. They could use some work with the small things like having salt and pepper shakers on each table, not running out of towels and having more than one coffee cup in your room. The salad bar is also not so great.

Sunscape Dominican Beach: resort grows on you

After reading a few of the reviews I did not know what to expect Now after staying there for two weeks I have very little negative to say. The staff was great, rooms were clean and done every day ( and yes a couple of times they were late ) . Food was good at buffet and a la carts. The beach was ok, sea weed was a problem and they tried hard to keep it under control . The best thing to do is to make your own opinion about the resort.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Nice resort

The grounds were well maintained. This was our third trip to this resort but found the a la cart restaurants service was poor. Room was very musty smelling. The beach was great and the buffet restaurant was good but there too the service was lacking.

Sunscape Dominican Beach: Amazing resort and remarquable staff.

Tout était parfait! la seul chose que nous n'avons pas aimé c'est l'accueil 2 heures avant d'avoir notre chambre parce qu'il essayait de nous faire payer du surplus pour nous placer dans une chambre exécutive (VIP), tout c'est bien terminé sans payer de frais supplémentaire.

The grounds were beautiful but the staff didn’t know what they were doing when we checked in We got a key to a room where people were in already and we had to walk back to the lobby and try to get another room. The food was ok and would have been good if they would have cooked it all the way. Nice place would recommend to friends..clean..nice staffs..enjoyed my trip..people always ready to help.. every night they have shows it was very nice all together it made an awesome trip would go back to the same resort no problem..!!!

Sunscape Dominican Beach: great except pushy timeshare people

the hotel was clean, staff very friendly, eager to make you happy except one bartender (male) at flip flops. seems like a smile would have killed him. it was a battle to find pool chairs on a daily basis, the beach was too windy to sit at so everyone at pools. some of the staff were willing and able to help find chairs for you , others laughed at the request and kept walking. rooms clean, maid service exceptional . you are greeted as soon as you check in by your "personal concierge"  [... read more]who will help you with anything you need and is there for you .... until you say no to buying a timeshare (they insist it is not a time share but we sat through a presentation and it is!). as soon as we said we would not be buying in, our personal conceirge was suddenly unavailable.. for any reason. timeshare salespeople and managers abruptly stood up and stormed out of the conversation. entertainment staff were fabulous! great nicknames too! food was good. on buffet lukewarm unless you were at the grills.... a la cartes good food but be first ones there on opening or last ones there. expect at least an hour wait in between those times to be seated as there is a no reservation policy for a la carte. they may want to revisit that policy. we would stay here again though, knowing what we know now. 1. pushy time share people to be ignored. 2. get pool chairs by 630am. 3. dont go to a la cartes already hungry.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Great Getaway!

The Sunscape was a nice hotel. Food was good! Staff was excellent and accommodating.. Weather was beautiful. Hotel could use a little TLC. All in all my wife and I had a nice relaxing, enjoyable vacation,.

Sunscape Bavaro Beach: So So

Staff:front desk and restaurant staff was nice. However,staff at the coffee shop were more busy talking to each other then serving the customers. Same goes for one of the staff at the boutique where she was busy clipping her nails when there are customers in the store. Rooms: bed was very uncomfortable; could feel the springs. Room would get half done by the cleaning staff whether you leave a tip or not. Beach towels: after 9:30am, no towels left. You would have to wait 30-40 minutes. Two  [... read more]days before we left they decided to implement a new system to ensure they don't lose towels and only resort's customers get towels. Restaurants: our favorite was SunnySide Grill; although the ribs's sauce was not very good (a lot of nutmeg in it). In general the food was not all that great. I got sick the day before we left. Sunscape Bavaro Beach: Amazing !!!

Wow !! Amazing trip. The hotel and staff were awesome and the entertainement was great. Always something to do. Food was great. Nice beach and pools. The resort overall is extremely clean. The only negative is the rooms are extremely echo, not insulated therefore we could here babies cry, people talking outside or coming up the stairs. Besides that I would recommend this hotel !!!

Sunscape Bavaro Beach: FUn in the DR

This was a great hotel. However, we were encouraged to up-grade upon checking in and found that it was definitely not worth it. The rooms were not up-graded, we found that we could have used any of the pools or beaches anyway, there was no difference in the quality of the drinks and ,although we requested it, we did not receive a daily newspaper as offered. Our room was not cleaned or tidied before 4 pm and this caused delays if we wanted to have an early dinner. But,the staff were wonderful an [... read more]d it is a beautiful hotel !!

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Fun Resort

Pros - fun resort, easy to get around, great staff, very nice beach, good selection of food and drinks, nice cafe. Cons - not enough chairs available at pool or beach, a couple people in our group had stomach issues.
