Rooms on the Beach Negril: My Honest Review

This resort was excellent for us! The rooms/grounds/pool were super clean. The room was spacious and bed was very comfortable. The beachfront in front of the hotel was the nicest spot on the strip! The staff were amazing/friendly/helpful and the dinners we ate were well prepared and tasty (try the curry goat). Breakfast included was ok but you can order full breakfast for $5 US and beer/cocktails on resort are $2 US. This resort was amazing! A real jewel. Hotel Bella Costa: very good

very nice, well served. staffs were nice, every information was available. food is plenty, available all 24 hrs. anything and everything that i needed i got without any hassle. residents were nice. environment was calm and quite.

Hotel Los Cactus: Great resort!

We recently went to Breezes Varadero on June 6-13th . It's a great place , very clean and everyone so friendly. Lobster night on Fridays, all you can eat!! So yummy! Rooms very big. Snack bar, towel hut and bar all easy to get to and beaches all well maintained.Lots of chairs available. Wide range of ages from young people to 60 something! Lol This was our second time to this resort and was not disappointed.The food is actually pretty good. Always pork pasta veggies and fish among other dishes.  [... read more]If you are picky like me you will do ok , there's always something to eat and satisfying.I recommend the breads and pizzas. Their bread is so melt in your mouth fresh. I would recommend this resort to anyone not sure about Cuba or has reservations about the island. Probably one of thebest affordable resort! Hotel Los Cactus: Great Resort!

Absolutely great resort, especially for the price! The beach is absolutely beautiful, in true Cuban form, food was great, bevy's where great, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The pool was OK, not much atmosphere. The rooms could use a little TLC but they are clean and comfortable. Over all I had a wonderful time at Breezer Veradero and I'm sure a return visit will be in my future.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Very nice resort

The food and drinks are excellent. Plenty of variety. You can drink the water. The rooms are not very large but you can be right on the beach with a nice terrace. It is a windy area but with the heat and the humidity, it's a blessing ! We loved every bit of it and we will go back.

Hotel Los Cactus: Okay resort

The hotel overall was found to be a place fo4 older crowds. My boyfriend & I were both under the age of 25 & found it hard to enjoy our time there. The recreation activities shut down very early which was dissapointig. The food was okay but the food times were not. Overall the resort was clean and well kept.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Decent Resort

Overall our stay was pleasant. It met our expectations however there were opportunities of exceeding expectations such as, food options like more exotic fruits, better entertainment and more frequent replenishment of water, toilet paper etc in the room. But nonetheless the resort is true to a 3 star in North America.

Hotel Los Cactus: Beautiful resort, amazing people

I just got back last week from a fantastic trip to Breezes Veradero. This resort was by far one of the best I have stayed at in Veradero and I very much look forward to going back in March 2016. The people where fantastic, the grounds where very well maintained and the service was remarkable. our rooms where cleaned daily. We had a slight problem with our A/C the first night stay, and when we brought it to their attention they had someone come in and try and fix it within 10 mins, Unfort. it cou [... read more]ld not be fixed at that time so they placed us in another room of our choice no questions. they where very accommodating. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone.

Memories Jibacoa: Great place to relax - not party

This is not the most luxurious hotel we've stayed at in Cuba, however we found it to be one of the most peaceful settings. Low rise hotel (under 200 rooms) on the beach with a good reef for snorkeling and mountians in the background. Good servers - very pleasant. Food was 'okay' with limited options (likely due to smaller size of resort). If you're a food snob - don't come here. End of beach near guard house needs some cleaning up too. Very peaceful pool (spa music environment). Close to Havana  [... read more]- spares you hours on a bus/plane. Great value at this hotel for the price paid.

Hotel Bella Costa: Beautiful all around!!!

Everything was wonderful, the people, the food, the hotel, the room, the beach... Thank you Bella Costa for the best vacation EVER!!!! I was amazed at how courteously we were treated. All the personnel at Bella Costa were so very kind and helpful. Smiles all around... The rooms were always impeccably clean and the cleaning ladies would use our towels to create swans and monkeys on our beds. They made our first exeperience in Cuba extraordinary. Thank you again! We will definitely go back again!

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Amazing Resort!! Planning our trip for next April

We stayed at the Jewel Runaway Bay from May 4-11, 2015. We had the most amazing trip. My second trip to Jamaica and my husbands first and we are planning on going back next April. The rooms are spotless, the food is amazing, the staff are out of this world friendly. We were in building 3 facing the back of the resort. It was an ok but next time Id want to be facing the resort or pool view to be closer to the action and music. It would be a perfect room for those who go to bed early. We met a lot [... read more] of very nice people and long life friends. We went to every restaurant and tested every bar and grill. All were fantastic. We had 8 days of 31+ weather with no rain, lots of wind but not a drop of rain. I can deal with the wind. We stayed by the infinity pool every day and ventured over to the big pool once in a while. The beach was an arms length away from the infinity pool and one of the nicest, cleanest water I've seen. Very windy most days but calmed down in the evening. There were tons of empty chairs everywhere, every day. Go to the managers party and go talk to Scott. He doesn't seem to be approachable when you stand back but looks are deceiving. He is very friendly and takes pride in his job and the resort is improving daily. If you have a problem, (which we didn't) they fix it asap. You can tell he really cares about this resort and hopefully he treats his staff great. They seem to really like him. We went to the water park daily. Our favorite day was when the locals came in on the weekend and we got to enjoy their company and had a lot of fun on the lazy river with the little kids. We went down the slide where both of us could get on the tube, we had a blast. Most days we just went on the lazy river and relaxed. There is something for ages 0 to 95 at the water park. It's truly built with all ages in mind. We went on vacation with relaxation on our minds after the terrible NS winter and that's exactly what we did. Bugsy (cabby) took us to Ocho rios for a 5 hour trip for $80 American. On our way back we had lunch at margaritaville, met Birdman where he made us birds out of palm leaves and told us jokes. This was the only excursion we went on. So if you're looking for a small, close to everything, 4+ resort with friendly staff and very family oriented in every way. This is the place for you. So don't sweat the small stuff and just relax and enjoy. Because we apologized to the staff for the actions of some guests who we didn't even know, as they were just down right rude and there was really no need to be. The staff just smiled and said thank you.

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Fantastic Resort

The resort was well laid out and accessible to everything in a 5 minute walk. The staff is amazing and very welcoming. If you happen to bring your kids along, then they will be in great hands in the kids club and will be entertained all hours of the day. The food was great at most restuarants and worth a try. The beach was out of this world with a coral reef accessible to do snorkeling right there. The water park was awesome and again if kids are with you, they will be entertained for hours. Hotel Los Cactus: Would not go back

My friend and I were looking for a resort that had entertainment, decent food, somewhat busy with guests and overall an enjoyable place to stay at. We did not have any of that so we decided to call sunwing and switch hotels and ended up staying at Iberostar Laguna Azul which was amazing!!!! Definitely a hotel to stay at with lots of entertainment, the crowd was amazing, lots of variety when it came to food and overall an unforgettable experience! Breezes varadero had only one pool to choose from [... read more], no swim up bar, no beach entertainment and the selection of food was limited. I would only suggest the hotel if you want something extremely quiet. My friend and I have been to Cuba many many times and never had this issue to switch hotels. We actually heard of a few people switching from their hotels that week due to bad maintenance service, food etc.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Great resort for the price!

Definitely a great resort for the price we paid. We paid for a standard room and it was very standard - small, older flooring, older décor, and lacking a coffee maker, iron, ironing board, and alarm clock. However, the bed was very comfortable. Food at the buffet wasn't all that great, but the food at the a la care restaurants is amazing - and you get unlimited access with no reservations at them. Service at all restaurants was great, however it was lacking at the bars. Drink quality was a hit  [... read more]and miss depending on the bar tender. The beach was beautiful and the water was crystal clear. I would rate this as a basic resort with three plus stars. If you are looking for a luxury vacation to Curacao, I suggest the Marriot. If you are looking for a relaxing, laid back vacation, Suncape is the place to go. Great location as it is not too close to the airport and city, but since the island is so small you are still able to explore it all from this resort.

Hotel Bella Costa: Relaxing Vacation & Wonderful Stay

My sister and I stayed here in May 2015 for four nights. It was the perfect length of time for a little getaway. The beach is beautiful and well kept. The staff were kind and hospitable. The resort itself is a bit dated and has a bit of wear and tear from over the years, however it was constantly cleaned and the staff did their best to keep it maintained. The drinks were great, and the machines were wiped down and washed daily. Glass and silverware was available in dining areas. The food was goo [... read more]d, and much better than other Cuban resorts I have stayed at. Because the resort is a bit smaller, the food is not made in as much bulk, and you receive more attention. The cooks are wonderful and make your experience more enjoyable. We spent most of the time on the beach and had amazing weather. The beach was cleared of garbage and cups regularly, and there are bars in close walking distance. We never experienced any issues securing chairs in the sun or the shade. There is beach volleyball and pool volleyball, and once a day a wonderful staff member encourages participation in other games such as bocce ball on the beach. The small catamarans and kayaks are included at no extra cost. To go snorkelling by the reef on the small catamarans is an extra 20CUC and very affordable. There is a show every night on the grounds by the pool, and they do a great job entertaining the crowds. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would likely go back for another mini vacation.

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Perfect!

The entire resort was awesome. Beautiful beach, great water park, immaculate grounds and fantastic food!! The rooms were big enough for the 4 of us and had a large balcony with furniture. Pools were fabulous and never crowded. A perfect vacation:)

I went with low expectations and was blown away with the beauty, the kindness, the entire experience with Breezes I cannot wait to return and bring my husband along to see exactly what I've been raving about since returning!

-We just returned from an awesome week at the Breezs Varadero. -The grounds are just beautiful, and well maintained. -The food was very good for example the Friday evening gala with lobster tails, shrimp, crab legs etc. The Italian à la carte was not only a super ambiance but very good food. On the other hand the bathroom in the reception lobby was super clean,with all nescescities present. -We would return to his resort with no worries!

Hotel Los Cactus: Beautiful Resort, Amazingly Friendly Staff

The hotel was clean in all areas. The rooms are spacious and we'll laid out. The staff are friendly and welcoming with the exception of one man in the dining hall. The a la carts were amazing. I would pick all three at the majhito if I could. Plenty of food selections but the buffet could be changed up a little bit more. I would definitely come back. It was a great experience. My biggest complaint is the air conditioning. We changed rooms twice because of the air conditioning not working. Before [... read more] we moved to the second room we checked the a/c only to find out it did not work. Then maintenance came and "fixed" it so we took the room and had to be call ed back to fix our toilet. It was still broken. All 7 days we stayed in rooms with no a/c. I think the whole block f was like that. They were moving other people for the same reason. After we were in the second room for a few hours. I was in the washroom and could hear people. I opened the bathroom door to strangers in out room. Their air conditioner or toilet did not work so they were moving them to our room. It was a mistake made by the front desk. I know it may sound like a horrible experience but really it was a great time and I would do it again. If there was 2 things I would change at the resourt it would be fix the a/c and add a/c to the main dining hall. With our a/c not working and no areas using a/c except 2 a la cart restaurants, we had no place to hide from.the heat.

Breezes Bahamas: Funnest Trip Ever!

I went to Breezes with my best friend for a week and we loved it. It was so fun. The staff was the friendliest staff. The entertainment was amazing. Every night was something fun and different. Plus they had a disco and piano bar. Drinks were available until 3am. The beach was fantastic-long, clear water, white sands. The pools were great and had a swim up bar and a hot tub.
