Nice resort.

This was the second time in 2 years. The only unexpected trouble this year was the swimming pool. The water was blurry, they said something about filters trouble, at one point you can't even see your feet at the bottom of the pool. The food was generally good.

Lots of walking but we like walking...

The air conditioning was a problem...we were in 5604...if we set the temp at 22-23 it ran all the time. If we set it at 25-26,it ran for 12-15 seconds,stopped and within the next 2-3 minutes it ran again. And the air blew directly on our faces in the bed. It also leaked water in the bathroom area (which was fixed).My friend came home very sick and has bronchitis and is on medication.

Unforgettable experience!

My husband, myself and our three-year-old son stayed at Playa Pesquero for a week second week of October. Prior to this, my husband and I have visited a few resorts over the years in other countries as well as in Cuba. This was the first time we both said that we are definitely returning here and for 10 days next time!!!!!! Loved absolutely everything! While my husband was still able to enjoy deeper ocean and snorkelling. People are amazing. Bring unwanted clothes, shoes and other items as the people there are very much in need. We brought a whole suit case of stuff that we left for the people working at the resort and any locals asking for clothes.

Had an amazing time !!!

The hotel is in a very good condition and has a welcoming atmosphere. The grounds, the beach , the food, the service - it's all excellent. We will definitely come here again and again and again! Thank you so much !

Loved the resort

Trip was a amazing. Karl really help us find the best pricing for everyone and resort was great! Loved the service, the scenery and food was actually not bad. I heard many rumors about cuba food and coming from a picky eater... it wasn't like bad. Officially a return client!

Average

Average. Most of the staff were very friendly. There were a few issues that had to be resolved and this was done amicably, however this took up vacation time, which can be frustrating. Food at the a la carte restaurants was a good change from buffet.

Not the resort that I had hoped for.

The hotel was beautiful and the grounds vaste.Everything was spotless. The rooms were ordinary and a bit musty. The air conditioner could not hold up to the 42 degree weather. The food was very good but the choices were not as numerous as I have had in 4 star resorts. I think that that was due to being there in the off season.

Well worth the money.

Our first impression of the hotel was it's sheer size. The grounds are so extensive that getting around was a bit of an issue. Once we got around that we were able to appreciate the scale of the place. The staff were very helpful and willing to solve any problems big or small. The beach is probably the best beach I have been to in Cuba. Turquoise water and white sand. The food in the buffet was generally pretty good with the exception of the fruit. Poor selection and quality. The food in the a l [... read more]a cartes was excellent. The inclusion of lobster in the meals was a nice surprise.

Gorgeous resort!!!

5 star resort in my books in all areas! Would definitely go back and would recommend to anyone. Great for families - clean grounds, courteous staff, great food! Large pool areas and beautiful beaches!

Good Resort

Good family resort. Nice Beach, but entertainment lacking. Service was hit and miss especially around the bar. Excursions are the standard Cuban ones you see at all resorts. Not sure if I would go to Holguin again.

Nice hotel

Hotel was nice, the grounds were just o.k. lots of garbage in public areas, no pick up at beach, felt like i always had to tip guy for a beach chair - beach is public got approached for food and money. Buffet very repetitive no theme nights. The a la carte's were better. Staff were very good work hard and kind.

Excellent value for the price

flew with cubana air out of toronto for a different experience. on the flight out the plane was filthy and the toilets had issues. on the way back the plane and washrooms were better but upon landing the plane had to wait for 10 minutes to approach gate. never again given the choice the trip to the hotel was about an hour but wasn't that bad. checkin was quick. i had requested a 2nd floor room in block 50 or 60. we got 64 2nd floor. it was centrally located, thank you for the room. the room ha [... read more]d nice caribbean colors, a nice sized bathroom enough hot water and the water pressure was the best i've ever had travelling south. it had a balcony and bar fridge stocked daily. there was a tube tv with a couple of english channels. a couple of issues that were corrected quickly. the resort itself is big and beautiful with a lot of kids given the time of year. mostly brits with canadians, french and english. the first day is always confusing, once you get your bearings, it's fine. we are beach people and spent little time at the pool but while at the pool found it large and clean with plenty of lounges. there's a swim up bar. the beach is one of the best we've been to in the caribbean. the sand is white and deep and the beach is shared with 3 resorts, so good for long walks. the water was warm and because its in a bay there are no waves. my only complaint was that there should be showers right at the paths where the beach ends. the snorkelling was great right in front of the gazebo. the food was ok not great. the buffets had the most made to order stations i've seen. if you didn't want to wait in line they had prepared food. we went to 3 ala cartes again the food was good not great. the internet was spotty and the support is terrible the person didn't have a clue and had the same response for every situation enough said the entertainment shows were ok. they had water ballet in the pool sunday night but the music was so loud we only stayed for 10 minutes and the music could be heard in our room until 11pm. my biggest issue is how loud they play the music at all the music events. bands and beach party i really enjoyed the mojito bar. i lived on mojitos for a week best i ever had. i wish they changed the karoke played there at night to more of a singalong type thing. went on one free excursion from hola sun on a catamaran tour. took a 20 minute bus ride for a 30 minute ride on a catamaran no sail raised. if you ever been on a catamaran its a waste of time. didn't do any other excursions. this was my first time diving south, i took the course at home. it was extremely disappointing. the dive center is located on blau. the people there are unfriendly and say very little. cuba is fished out and has little wild life most of the dives is about reefs. the weather for our week was gorgeous,sunny and hot. we gave tips when we received good service and they were really appreciated. in review i would highly recommend this resort. You can't expect much more for the price. i'd return if the diving gets better.

Bonafide 5 star

This was by far the best all-inclusive trip I have been on. Everything was absolutely perfect. The weather, the beach, the staff, and the food (surprise surprise) was fantastic. I am always thankful when I visit Cuba because the people are just so loving and giving. Bottom line: I would highly recommend.

Hard to Leave

I had the best time at Playa Pesquero, Thank you Michael Jose and Dayma for making the best Mohito's on the island and putting up with Karaoke's as they sung into the night. accommodations and food were amazing and the snorkeling on the reef in front of resort kept me busy all day thanks again

Our 5th trip to this resort. Amazing people.

Nice big resort with lots of dining options. Some premium items were limited. Beautiful grounds usually well maintained. Spacious rooms, but resort is starting to show its age. Maid service was great!

Not what expected...

I rated this resort a three star because I love Cuba and the cubans, their music, calm, smile... The resort itself is probably old and they don't have enough resources to renew it properly. The showers at the pool do not work, the washrooms are just a few and some of them waiting to be fixed. A minus of this resort is the size of it - it's huge and the distance you have to walk between room, restaurants, lobby, beach...is way to much, especially if it's very hot outside or a heavy rain is fallin [... read more]g (as happend in out case). There is a transportation service within the resort which is very good for your move with the baggage. On the plus side, we really enjoyed the beach and water, the best in the world. The food was very good, too, compared with other Cuban resorts. We had 4 a la carte restaurants and all were very good choices.

Great Resort But...

This was our second time at Playa Pesquero. We enjoyed our first visit so we decided to go back. The resort is very well maintained and the staff is great. We found the food to be well above average for Cuba. The beach is sandy and there is also some places for snorkelling. The rooms we had 1815 and 1818 were in good shape and actually better than our first visit. If you have mobility issues, it's the best spot to be as you are close to the lobby, pools and buffets. We are very certain it was the maid as both items were women's clothing. This was disappointing as we treated the maid very well. We did not report it to the hotel as we didn't want to make a big deal about it. The rooms come with safes so I would highly recommend you use them. Aside from that, it was a fantastic trip.

Wonderful vacation

Totally enjoyed our week at Playa Pesquerio. Beautiful resort but it is the warm and friendly people that continue to bring us back. Wonderful beach and pool area. Great variety of food options. Miss my wonderful coffee in the lobby every morning.

Amazing and constant quality

it is my 5th time and always i come back refreshed and pampered!!! when i go, i know what to expect and quality standards are always maintained - the staff is friendly and discreet, beaches clean and even though the largest resort if you want peace and quiet you get it -

Tired Resort

I found this resort lacking. Not enough bathrooms on site, broken toilet roll holders, poor air conditioning, cockroaches in rooms. The Buffet food was overcooked and the foodstaff need to be inserviced in proper food handling. Many times saw serving spoons rinsed in water and wiped dry with hands. Servers were not happy and needed to be asked for water every time we dined.
