Very nice resort

This is an awesome place to relax (with no internet)! There are enough activities to enjoy and party all the time if you wish. The beach is breathtaking! They also have fair choices for dining. I'd go back!

Fun time resort

this is one resort I would return to again.We took our son and girlfriend and had a great time.The resort is big with lots to do.The staff was excellent, food was good for Cuba.The lobby bar was alive every night excellent place

Best place to stay !

The grounds were simply lovely - very clean and magical. The loungers on the beach were my favorite. Every aspect of this reosrt is top notch ! The staff was so attentive. The food at the buffet and al a carte was fresh and delicious.

Third time @ Melia Las Dunas

This was our 3rd time at Melia Las Dunas and will continue to go there at least once a year. The staff are so friendly and make your stay one to remember. The weather was perfect and the beach is amazing.

Beautiful Resort!

We had a wonderful week at this beautiful resort. However the flight home from Santa Maria to Halifax on March 26, 2014 with Air Transat was absolutely terrible. Landing the plane in a snow storm that had closed down much of Nova Scotia was terrifying. We would definitely return to this resort, however we would choose another airline in the future. The resort deserves a 5 star rating.

Great resort

The first time I went to Las Dunas it had just opened and was amazing!! Now, I was a bit disappointed because it's not that clean anymore. The beach is one of the best in Cuba. It's worth to go with family!

Would recommend to anyone

Food was great, service was great. If you have any hesitations about going to a Cuba all inclusive stay here. We had a group aged 17-50 and each and everyone of us loved it. It was a short walk to shopping and disco. Ice cream every afternoon was a treat. No line ups for food staff were very efficient.

Great resort, clean, friendly staff!

We have been here twice, very happy with our experiance there. Grate place for the whole family...... My wife and son loved. We are planning on going a thrid time. Don't fix it if not broken :) Can't wait to go back...

Fantastic Resort, Fantastic Staff & FANTASTIC CUBA

Have traveled to this resort 8x and have seen changes both good & bad but mostly good. Fantastic Staff is the least we can say. Truly make an effort to make your vacation enjoyable. The beach is a GEM! Turquoise clear water, white sand and sun. Who can ask for more?

Beautiful Resort

This was our first trip to Cuba and we were anxious on what to expect. This resort surpassed our expectations. It was beautiful, clean, and grounds well maintained. All the staff were friendly, easy to talk with and helpful, esp the first day finding our way around. It is a large resort so expect to do some walking. Walking did not bother us because we were on holidays and in no rush to go anywhere. The pools were big and lots of chairs so finding a place to sit was not a problem. The bars were  [... read more]always close by to top up our drinks. The food was good and we enjoyed our 'a la carte '. They have the best cappuccino ! We had no problem with anything in the room, and no bugs. A couple things we were a bit disappointed in was that the resort was down a long causeway and mopeds were not allowed off the causeway. We also thought the excursions were a bit pricey for what we got. It was a relaxing holiday and would go back. Thank you to staff and management at Melia Las Dunas.

Great resort for sun, sand and entertainment

Great first time experience at this ocean side resort. Went solo and everything went very well. Room, service and amenities were all great and value was unbeatable. Lots to choose from for food although a bit down in quality at times.

So beutifull , fantastic resort

Excellent resort

loved this resort, everything was clean the food was good better than a few places that I've been, the beach was amazing all the people that I meet where very friendly I especially liked the pizzeria best pizza I ever had and the wait staff was very friendly all in all I would recommend this resort to anyone

Incredible resort

I thoroughly enjoyed my recent visit to the melia las dunas in April. The rooms were very clean. The beach was all white beautiful sand. Great food that was on par with other places in Cuba. My daughter requires a wheel chair. Las dunas was completely accessible. We were very pleased with this. The staff was very courteous and helpful. We enjoyed the the hot weather and the pool was immaculate. Would definetly go there again !!

Amazing resort

The hotel lobby and grounds are just gorgeous. The bars are tremendous. The staff are unfailingly kind and courteous, always willing to help Anne are so friendly. The food is tolerable, breakfast was pretty good....You have to wake up early to get good bacon because people take so much on their plates. The pool is awesome.

Meh

It was alright. There were only a few staff that made you feel very welcomed. The rest of the staff was just there kinda putting in their time. The most welcoming people were the gardeners and then a select few of the wait staff. The beach is beautiful

Very nice, clean and comfortable

Long ride to and from airport but on the way to hotel, tour guide was very informative and descriptive also stopped on causeway so we could take pictures, very nice. Hotel was enjoyable, entertainment could have been stepped up for sure and food was just fair. On the way back to airport, very long as for some reason bus stopped in little community so passengers could use restroom...initially no one needed restrooms. However, on the way to this village there was major road work and after several  [... read more]wrong turns and countless rough back roads passengers were feeling Ill. When the restroom finally located and full bus arrived...ONLY ONE bathroom for all! Was not clean and no paper was available. The other bus that left hotel after us arrived at the airport about 45 minutes BEFORE us and no stop nor detours encountered! Communication on the return to airport certainly lacking. If one bus was aware of conditions, most certainly all should have been. So in closing everything BUT the return trip, was great!

We loved it and going back. First place we ever went they we will go back to And going next year So close to everthing nice grounds nice restaurants great beach service could be a bit better at lobby bar. Great people

Melia Las Dunas

First off Trip Central has always been a pleasant experience with attention to detail in every way. Melia Las Dunas is great! Very consistent with excellent service, food and hospitality. They have a passion to please, just like Trip Central! You can stroll on the fabulous beaches for miles. Have been Seven times and will return. Thank You all :)

Wonderful time at Melia Las Dunas!

This is the best resort we have been to in Cuba. Cayo Santa Maria was the most beautiful beach we have ever seen - beautiful clear turquoise water and soft sand. There were two huge pools - one was an activity pool with music, dance lessons, aquafitness and separate shallow children's pool - the other was a quiet pool where you could relax and read. Both of course had swim up bars and servers who walked around and brought us drinks to where we were lounging. The grounds were beautifully kept and [... read more] all staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The food was better than average for Cuba. The best meals were at the buffet where you could line up and choose your meat, fish, veggies and they would grill them in front of you. It may take 10 minutes but was worth it - better than the a la carts. The one a la cart we liked best was the Pizza place. The pizza was not exactly what we are used to in North America but was very tasty and some were even in the shape of a heart. There was a beer garden that served some imported beer as well, although we quite liked the Crystal. At the beer garden they also had shrimp on skewers with veggies, battered and deep fried as well as Calamari which were very good but they occasionally ran out of things. Fish and chips at the beer garden was also very good. We often went there for lunch. The entertainment was better than average too. Around 6 pm it started with a piano player or other musician or two in the lobby bar. Then there was a latin band on an outdoor stage (once even a rock band) until the main show in the theatre began around 9:30. The shows in the theatre were very entertaining too and different every night (we stayed for 2 weeks and there were maybe 3 repetitions). The rooms were large and clean and the mini bar was filled up daily with at least 2 pop and 2 beer but more if you ask and especially if you give the guy a peco. ($1) We had an amazing two week vacation there and would go back again!
