Disappointed

Unfortunately we did not enjoy our experience in Cuba. Although the staff at the hotel was excellent, the food was not very palatable. We are not fussy eaters and have been to other Caribbean countries and realize they do not cook the same way we do, BUT THIS WAS BAD. And the weather was cold, couldn't go swimming in pool or ocean.

Wonderful time spent with great friends

The beautiful aqua blue ocean,the white soft sand, the Cuban people, the snorkeling, the cappicinno, and a great group of friends, what more could one ask for. The resort was well kept but needs just a bit of upgrading, our maid Dayamy was wonderful, from the gardners to the bartenders, the chefs to the food service, everyone worked so hard to please their quests.Our group stayed for 2 weeks, nearing the end of our glorious vacation we all seemed to be ready for home. I have a small complaint, k [... read more]nowing that the resort and the chefs do their best to serve and provide tasteful dishes, they need to prepare their chicken. fish and pork in different ways, in the two weeks there was no variety what so ever. The buffet was exactly the same nearly every day. I wil praise their BREAD, it is amazing, fresh every day. And their soup is very tasty also. Their breakfast is the best meal of the day, their snack bar makes awesome pizza and if you are lucky you may get bbq'd pork ribs at the beach. Would I go back, I will say yes but only for 1 week.

Beautiful and amazing resort

The resort was beautiful nice clean and beach was just beauty with that Aqua water .there was shows every night and the Cuban people where so nice.This was my first experience to go too Cuba.I would recommended too other people

Excellent resort. loved this resort.

loved loved this resort, 1st trip ever and the staff were more than awesome. clean large rooms, awesome beach, awesome pool, food takes some adapting. sun was hot.... the staff can't do enough for you, they are excellent. served me breakfast in bed the morning of my birthday, enjoyed my 54th birthday so much, it was the 1st time I ever had a hot beautiful day for my birthday.1st trip down south

Beautiful Memories !

Beautiful place, very clean, amazing staff ! Food, very good for Cuba but buffet needs more variety...... always the same. They have pasta and rice station, so it's all good. A la carte... Italian is on the beach with pizza or pasta, very good. Cuban, not so much. The Micheal Jackson show was excellent. Don't miss it. One thing this resort must look into would be to add signs for beach, pool, restaurants and bars. Exellent service - wonderful people!

Our first time to Cuba and what a great experience. There are always little things that come up but I have to say that each one was handled promptly. One girl in particular was really helpful Dayana in the public relations department. She had a great attitude and handled things quickly which kept us at ease. P The beach at this hotel is second to none and very safe for kids. If you have time for an excursion I would highly recommend the full day trip to Moran. Back to motel in time for dinner and a show. Well organized trip. Great value for the money $75 CUC (cheaper if booked online prior to your arrival). Overall some great memories at Memories Caribe.

Mixed feelings

I am a little at odds about this resort. The grounds were very well maintained, the beach was amazing and ofcourse the rum was out of this world. As for the rest of it, i don't really have much good to say. I like everyone else understand you don't go to Cuba for the food and i understand this now both times i have been to Cuba. However at this resort the food was horrible. The buffet offer very little that was even palatable and what you could actually eat didn't change all week. Also i underst [... read more]and it is a country where English is not the first language of the stagg that work the resort, however, there were many times during my vacation where there was a complete language barrier because the stagg working did not understand any English. Just my opinion that if you are a tourist resort the staff should be able to have even a basic conversation with the vacationers. This week was also very busy and i do understand that things will be a little bit diminished because of this. At the same time i feel that a tourist resort should be prepared for this and this resort was not even close to ready for the level of guests that they had. Running our of beach towels, running out of food, running out of ice etc... These things will not completely ruin a vacation, but it will do like it did for me, sick enough in my head that i have this review. I still had a good time, but it was because of my company, not because of the resort.

It is OK

Food was ok - I wish there was more seafood. The meat in Cuba is bad anywhere. The beach was amazing - nothing to complain about. Service was bad - waiters refused to serve us more than 4 bottles of wine (we were a company of 15 people)

Just ok

I know that in Cuba you can't expect the best! The food was very average to poor. I couldn't eat the hamburgers at the snack bar as they were digusting. The pizza was below average but edible. The buffet was better for lunch and breakfast but dinner was ok. You could find things to eat but not the best. The rooms were very tired looking. The curtains and the bed spread need to be changed. The bedding was very thin! The furniture in unit 23 was very filthy and stained. I didn't even want to put m [... read more]y suitcase on the sofa bed and thankfully I didn't have to sleep on it! Ewww! The people were amazing as they usually are in Cuba. The staff were friendly and helpful and always smiling! The check in and check out was the best I've ever encountered. The automatic booking of the a la cartes was quite a bonus. No line ups to do that job! I would not go back to this resort even though the price was amazing. There are always others to explore that are better! If you like a face cloth you had better bring your own as they just do not have them. The beach was okay, just average in my books.

Good

The check-in was very quick. I had not problems leaving my password at the reception desk while I was gone to check my room. Most of the travelers did not want to leave their passports at the reception. We requested a room with king size bed and we got one after 2 nights. No problems as we understood that the resort was full. The food was good at the buffet and very good at the Asian a la carte. The lobby bar was nice and I was able to get a variety of quality drinks. The night shows were excell [... read more]ent. The kids evening shows were amazing. My daughter played and danced every night on the theater's stage. The only problem is the beach. Is not wide enough. The guys in charge with the beach-volley are amazing. I will probably go back but in the spring-summer time. This time of year (December) the wind was pretty intense. Overall was good.

Wonderful Staff

The resort was nice and small. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. The rooms are pretty basic and the food is typical for Cuba. Beautiful beaches and clean pools. Really close to the airport so short drive. It's good for how much you pay.

Great Time!!!

Overall it was a great vacation. The resort was great and the staff were very friendly, especially Israel in the snack bar. The beach was absolutely gorgeous and being able to walk on the sand dunes was amazing. We saw many animals just walking the dunes. My only complaint was it was so windy everyday. It wasn't just a breeze but a strong wind that was actually cold.

Beautifull , excellent

This resort is very clean, beautifull, employees makes this resort more fun with their smile and good humour,will go back for sure , been there 6times New orientate restaurant is excellent. Beach is clean and love the diamond club worth every penny.

Great Resort, Amazing Beaches!

We stayed in Memories Caribe from Nov 27 - Dec 7. Grounds: Very well kept, there is always someone looking after something. The staff we're very hard working and pleasant. The maintenance was great. It's not your Donald Trump hotel, and I hope you don't have the expectations of one. Entertainment: The staff were great in keeping the guests busy, especially children. If you're travelling with kids, they have tons of games for the kids to play whether it's on the beach or near the pool. The only [... read more] tip I'd give for the entertainment crew is to have more games in the pool, such as water basketball, water soccer, more volleyball games. It seemed the crew didn't want to get in the water (could've been too cold for them as it IS winter for them right now). I would've liked to see more games for the adults. Service: The service was great, the workers are very nice and hardworking. We tip all the time, so that may have had something to do with the extra great service we got. :) Food: I'm not a picky eater, the food was great for me. I've travelled to Mexico, Honduras, Spain, Dominican etc and I know what else is out there. The food in Cuba is fresh, the selection is not as wide but it worked for me. Fresh fish, calamari, pasta, etc can't go wrong! Beaches: Paradise, amazing beaches, very heavenly. The water receded in the morning and a path opened up in the middle to walk on. My favourite part. Rooms: The rooms are a little outdated. We didn't really care because we we're hardly in the rooms and it's not a deal breaker for me. The overall cleanliness was great, just the tv (90s) and the bathroom were all outdated and needed a fresh new look. Overall I would give this hotel a strong 4. You can really feel the management presence, the managers were always there looking over what's going on and ready to help.

Everything is very nice except the cuisine

I have travelled Cuba quite a bit, understand the problems getting certain items in but having been to other resorts, this place is awful in the food services, all else is fine, but will not return here for that reason, no fresh fruits, veggies, very limited entrees brutal OJ,[watered down, seriously Noellia?] Improve the food, I'll come back! till then back to Costa Verde.

Amazing trip!

Overall the resort was really nice! Great food & drinks, also excellent hospitality. Got to know a few of the waiters quite well and had a blast with them! Grounds were fairly big which kinda would have been nicer if it was smaller but by the end of the week we enjoyed walking a lot. Rooms were cleaned everyday with fresh towels and water. My favourite part was probably the beach! It was truly breathtaking, especially when the tide went out! You could walk for miles. Would stay here again!

It is a paradise and amazing resort

The resort is very clean, staff are all friendly and helpful, entertainments are great and most of all the food awesome. we have a great time and enjoy being with other people w/ different walks of life.

Good resort

Nice resort, the room was big, the bed was comfortable, the stuff was really good only their English is poor. The beach is amazing. Avoid rain season, too many mosquitoes. The food was OK, fruits limited...

Very nice ,well managed resort.

We returned from Memories Caribe on Nov 6th. It was a very nice resort and we always felt comfortable and welcome. The staff are wonderful and always went over and above to be helpful. The rooms are a little tired but everything worked. the grounds are beautiful and well kept. Of course the beach is second to none. The time from the airport to the hotel was a bonus ,very short drive.All in all we were happy with our stay and will go back as it suits our need perfectly.This is our 10th visit to C [... read more]uba and one of our favourites.

A great holiday at an excellent price!

I had read many reviews of the property before going, all the good, bad and the ugly. I noticed many referred to Noelia, and for good reason - she is making wonderful progress here at the resort. I certainly hope she is well compensated for her hard work. The check-in and flight with Sunwing was perfect. Three hours and 6 minutes. Arrival and check-in at the hotel also very organized. The staff was always helpful and happy. They especially liked when we shared our Canadian snacks of Pringles, cashews, candies, etc. The Hallowe'en show was awesome and held right on the beach. The Piano bar was excellent and made great coffees everyday. Service there was very good as well. the servers at the swim up bar and 24 hour snack bar were wonderful! The food overall was not great but not bad either. I could always find something to eat at dinner, lunch and breakfast and many days I just grazed at the 24 hour snack bar - which was excellent. The french fries were delicious as were the pizzas, burgers and hot dogs. The beach bar also had burgers, hot dogs and fresh made pizzas - you pick the toppings. At breakfast you could have fresh fruit smoothies, omelettes, waffles and pancakes! Bring your own steak sauce if you don't like A-1, and ketchup if you want Heinz. I didn't see any peanut butter either. Otherwise, they have everything you would need. There really were a lot of mosquitoes - I got bit quite a bit but my friend did not at all? the worst experience with them was at the a la carte at the beach at night. Also, be very careful about going off the sand on the beach - I stepped into a landmine of burr like growths which were very sharp and hard to get out of my feet. It was a painful lesson to be learned, and they seemed to have barbs on them making them very hard to get out, even with tweezers and a safety pin. We met a ton of wonderful people there, and had a great time. It was a bargain for sure, and I would recommend it for budget concious travellers and families too. We stayed October 27 to November 3, 2014, and travelled as a couple.
