Grand Memories Santa Maria: Beautiful beach and nice staff

It was my first time in Cuba after 6 years. I was surprised that there was no noticeable difference in food in spite of food shortages in the country. I had to change the room x3 because the AC kept breaking and they couldn't fix it. But the reception staff were extremely helpful and nice. Building 55 was quiet and close to the beach. Room service staff helpful and professional. Because it's on the island away from the town I didn't see Canadian sex tourists which was great. Beach and ocean  [... read more]amazing. Lots of pelicans and other birds if you like nature. Low season so it was quiet away from the pool and bar. I would recommend to people who know and like Cuba. Nature lovers in low season would like it too. BTW I think that nobody needs our old clothes. Looks that there is a supply of some goods since the boarders have been open . But tips in US dollars and Canadian bills are appreciated. Loonies and toonies are useless. Pesos less valued because of high inflation.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Very beautiful beach

The resort is new and clean, the staff are nice and helpful, the swimming pools there is only 2, the beach is amazing, for the food the only thing was missing and very important is the green salad we spent a week there was never any green salad or tomato, peppers or carrots, cucumber was available only the first day, I am wondering why? But overall the food was great for Cuba they just need to have more varieties. Melia Buenavista: Expensive resort !

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Excellent service!

The service we received at Grand Memories was excellent! All of the staff were kind and helpful. The beach is spectacular and the real showstopper! The resort is somewhat run down and many areas need updating and repairs. I heard they’re planning on having this done by the next high season. We requested to move out of building 52 due to black mould throughout the room. Thankfully they accommodated our request right away. The food was not so great, as I imagine resources are limited. The resort is located almost 2 hrs from the airport, which means a lot of time is spent in transit during the trip. Just something worth considering if you’re anxious to get there quickly. Overall, a great trip! The company we keep makes the trip worthwhile! The beach, the Cuban people (staff), the coffee, the drinks, the market, were all amazing and we’re grateful that we were able to experience all these things.

Melia Buenavista: Beautiful resort!

The Buenavista is a beautiful resort. We have had many enjoyable trips to Cuba but this was by far the best for service and overall wonderful experience. We loved having a concierge. A big thank you to both Daymi and Jani. They were amazing! We also had excellent service provided by Carlos in the Ranchon, Lester at the pool bar and many others throughout the hotel. The hotel is a bit older and some of the furniture is showing it’s age but overall we were happy with the room…loved the outdoor shower. It’s a quiet resort with a spa-like feel. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Amazing time yet again

It doesn't seem to matter what time of the year it is, the grounds/gardens always look great. We'll done gardeners. Pools always clean and pool bar well stocked. Beautiful beach &smiling staff everywhere you look. Is there any wonder why I keep going back?

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Amazing resort

This is my third time at this resort and first time for my son. As usual the Grand Aston never disapoints with its oustanding entertainement and the cleanliness of the rooms (always block 3/3rd floor for me) and grounds. I highly recommend!!

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Beautiful Beach and nice pools!

It was our second time at Iberostar Ensenachos and we enjoyed the warm water with a very nice turqoise coulour. We had the lunch almost every day on Megano beach, and they served tasty pasta, fish, oven pizza, and fresh mango. Bring some protection for mosquitos, especially in the evening.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing Resort

Santa Maria Royalton the grounds are so beautiful. The food was unbelievable. No buffets and warm food so tasty. The chefs were amazing. Bbq lunch at the 24hr Sunset Grill everyday was great. The lobby bar Cafe was great. Nighttime music the piano lady was our favourite 2x over the week. The maid Ana was very effient and thorou. The pools were very nice. We enjoyed our week because the Cuban people at resort work as a team and you feel the love of them serving you. Can't wait to come back.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Royalton Cayo Santa Maria, best in Cuba

Second visit to this resort. Already planning on returning in 2024. Amazing staff, amazing resort, pool and beach. Food was fantastic no matter where you ate on the resort and always great selection. Butler service is amazing, we had the same Butler Omar Alcantara for trip two. He made our stay comfortable and took every opportunity he could to make it special as well.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful resort

Clean and comfortable hotel, amazing firm beds .Grounds were beautiful and well kept. Pool clean and fresh. Food average for Cuba never starved . Staff wonderful always going above and beyond to satisfy guests .Drinks amazing especially the pineapple vodka and pina colada’s slush. Best beach ever , calm and clear but may encounter sand flees. Overall this hotel deserves a 4 star !

The rooms were very nice and clean kept very clean every day. The service was very nice friendly staff at all times I was there for you when you need something. The two pools were really nice. Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: disappointed

I was traveling with my daughter and her 3 year old son. This was my 7th time at this hotel. The first rooms we got were in buidlings 21, my daughters room was ok but phone didn't work and no water. My room had a stained bedspread, dirty glass table top, no toilet paper. Moved us to 2 other rooms in building 25. My room was ready and was good. My daughter and grandsons room was not ready and we went back to pick up keys at 5:00. Never did they offer to drive us to any of these rooms. I called the front desk and told them the room was not good, They said they would give us two more rooms. I said can you send someone with the keys and take us to the new rooms. My daughter went to check out these rooms before we hauled all of our luggage there again.. These rooms we at the far end of the hotel, rooms 3623 & 3624 were better. All this back and forth made my arthritis flare up. I was in pain for 4days had a hard time sleeping. we found out that the building we were in only had 1 other person, there was no outside lighting. At night you could not see anything pitch black. - There is no hand soap in the bathrooms. - No hot water. - Rooms were not cleaned only came in to make beds and empty garbage can. - There is No toilet paper in common areas, or hand soap. - Twice a day without any warning they would use a truck to drive by whether you were walking or not and would spray a fogger of bug spray. We had to run for cover with my 3 year old grandson. - One day when leaving the kids pool a truck came flying around a blind spot and all most hit us.. I had to yell out at them. - Food was not good very limited. Drink very limited.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing Beach / Water - OK Resort - BAD Management All Around

AMAZING beach & water - crystal clear, plenty of fish. Resort OK, nothing special, although pretty new (built just before 2020) is plain and ugly, looks unfinished, especially the big swath of land between the buildings and the beach, scorched grass and nothing else. Everything else (bars / restaurants / food) is waaaay below standards, even for the low standards one expects in Cuba... We were unlucky enough to be there (the last three days of our vacation) during the "Santa Clara Music Fest [... read more]" and everything went from bad to worse! The hotel filled with Cuban guests (went from around 45% to more than 100%, they had to send guests to other hotels as far as Cayo Coco in the middle of the night!) - if before the food was bad, at least there was food... The last 3 days were a complete mess everywhere, not enough of everything, overcrowded mayhem is how I would describe it. Huge lineups to enter the buffet, only to find empty trays of food, with boiled plantains, potatoes, rice and pasta being the only options available - plus a mess everywhere. Trying to get a drink in the evenings at one of the bars was a futile exercise too... Luckily they had Pringles and crackers and plenty of Crystal and Buccanero at the hotel shop, so we made it :)... I suggested they order some "I Survived Sirenis" t-shirts - the most appropriate souvenir one could buy after a vacation with Sirenis! Look for something else please - not worth taking the risk with this hotel. Happy travels!

We just came back 2 days ago from this resort Aug 23-30. The beach with white clean sand, and the ocean- I would die for- crystal clear water, amazing fishes and ocean life on coral reef that is close to the shore. So many different seashells. After I complained to “public relations staff “ someone cleaned it. Buffet- most of the days they were opening late by 10-20 minutes and people were just waiting in the heat. NO sauce whatsoever. Food choices very limited. Again- floors NOT cleaned properly. Dust under the tables and around the columns. Servers NOT cleaning dishes on time. They are just standing and chatting and laughing. One server just stepped on the cockroach 🪳 and crashed it and left it there on the spot!! Internet not the greatest but manageable- you are not coming to the resort to be on internet all the time. I would NOT come back to this particular resort.

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Terrible Resort

TLDR: We got what we paid for but will definitely never go back or recommend this resort to anyone. The Rooms: Our toilet was broken upon arrival but we fixed it ourselves. All of the lights appeared to be on the same circuit and it was a constant game of will this switch work today? We also found one cockroach in our bathroom on the final night despite being tidy people and cleaners coming in everyday. The Food: The buffet is open from 7-10 for breakfast and 1-3 for lunch every single day [... read more]. During our stay it was a mystery if the buffet would be open for dinner that day so to play it safe we booked reservations every night at the al a crate restaurant. If the buffet was closed and you did not have reservations you were stuck eating dinner at the snack bar. Our party had a few dietary restrictions so eating at the buffet was difficult as most items were poorly labeled, if labeled at all. The Pools: Dirty. Balls of hair at the bottom of the pool, empty drink cups floating in the water, trash in the drains & no one around to care or clean. The Beaches: We only went to the hidden beach on our trip so we cannot speak much about the main one. We enjoyed how secluded and calm the hidden beach was however, our only complaints were that the beach had much more debris than expected and the beach bar was only open/staffed Friday-Sunday. The Staff: Very sweet but surprised at how little English was spoken. We had a huge language barrier because of it and almost every food/drink order at the snack bar was wrong. The Experience: We unknowingly went during a popular Music Festival weekend so our resort had a large number of native Cubans. Everyone was nice and we enjoyed how it made the weekend very lively. However, the resort seemed understaffed during this time as it was difficult to get attention from servers. Little to no activities/entertainment but we were happy for the relaxation nonetheless.

The beach is amazing but not the rooms or units > almost all rooms for all of us are leaking and smell molds. Also, the food in buffet are the same for a week and no difference in their a la carte. Customer Service of the Managers were good but not impressive. Will not take an extra mile to help customers.

I’ve never traveled to a resort in the off season. I will definitely do it again. Didn’t have to fight for a lounge chair or stay in a huge line at the buffet. But I don’t think I’ll be going to this resort again. There was nothing to do except go to the beach or pool. No games room or air conditioned cafe/lounge. Nowhere to escape the heat. Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Will not be going back to this resort

We've been to Cuba couple of times and always loved it. We chose this hotel because of the high reviews, but what a disappointment. Food was awful, buffet had not many choices. Bar had not much variety of cocktails or even soft drinks. Some of the staff was rude. Some of the reception staff was annoyed that we were asking questions. No good info/communication about the hotel amenities or simple info such as number for reception. Nightly entertainment was pretty much not existing. Other than that room was pretty clean and nice size, housekeeping was excellent. Ladies at the adult only restaurant were amazing. Food at a la carte was ok but excellent service. Beach was amazing.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Great time

I enjoyed my stay at Playa Cayo Santa Maria. Staff is friendly - The server who typically works by the beach buffet named Raul was amazing. He was so friendly and welcoming, he really made mine and my groups time at the resort a pleasant experience.
