Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: GO SOMEWHERE ELSE....

This resort is clean, staff are friendly, food is ok But what the pictures don't show you is visible from the beach of this resort is a factory, and industrial smoke. If I had known that this would be visible I would have never gone to this resort. The water is also murky, not that nice blue that you want. We were also suckered into a time share presentation, waste of time. go somewhere else, learn from my mistake. The Good This was an awesome place to stay, from its excellent buffets to the perfect a la cartes The Bad The service at the bar was hit and miss. Sometimes there was no beer, or limes or even vodka at the big pool. Very in consistent. The Ugly The last day that we were there, a new group had just arrived. Boy what a group. The grounds of this hotel is 5 star. The grounds are immaculate. The rooms are a great size. If your not getting an ocean view ask for building 57 facing the pool with a balcony we were in 57122. Even numbers face pool. This is a new building facing the new quiet pool. It's close to everything the buffet the a la cartes and lobby and la Romana le gourmet. A la carte a can only be booked by the Bahia app which I recommend to install. The only restaurant that must be done by the staff is d [... read more]on Pablo gourmet restaurant. In your check in envelope is your keys luggage baggage a slip so bellman bring your bags to your room and a mso. What is a missing is the Dress code for the a cartes are shirts with sleeves belted shorts or pants with closed toe shoes. Don Pablo and le gourmet you must wear pants. How to set up free Wifi. The hours of the restaurants especially the buffets. These are most important if you arrive after 6 pm. Check in will be done on the bus in. So ask your Butler or bell man or front desk when you get there. Note reservation number or reservsa number is different than confirmation number. If you are lucky they might give you both before your trip so you can book your a la carte a before you arrive two or three days before. Upgrade to option plus on return you get to buy ok your seats ahead of time first on a plane seperate line for booking at airport. Most important access to privekedge lounge. It's 54 each well worth it. Your at the airport 3.5 hours before flight. Book your movies in advance on cineb app. You are permitted 3 shows total. The movies are date specific if you set them up for your departure it wouldn't be available on your return. You watch it on your cell or lap top that you downloaded it to. The bar is all premium names of brands you have heard of before. Bacardi gordens crown riyal baileys Chivas etc. The only additional charges are some single malt scotch cognac and bottles of wine. The gourmet restaurants is fine dining leave your diet at the door. The grill is for people that love meat have a early seating for this as the meat sometimes is kept warm and gets overcooked for late bookings. Stay away from fish house. The Asian is great ask for jose he will take care of you. Make use of your Butler they put scents in your room. Get you special pillows with or without scents help you with packing and unpacking etc. Two dollars goes a long way. The restaurants are limited to wine and shots for coffee or after-dinner drinks. Lobby bar is fully stocked. Enjoy your stay. We will return 5 stars. It's is great for a relaxing holiday it starts at 8 am and gets really quiet at 11pm unless you go to la Romana side.

Sunscape Dominicus La Romana: Horrible! Money grabber Resort

Definitely NOT a 5 star resort as they have it on their lobby wall. I have been to many resorts and based on experience would say this is NOT even a 4 star hotel. Maybe a 3-3.5 star. I don't have high expectations and if you are going to cuba or dominican Republic you should not either. I don't care if there's birds flying around the buffet area or if the waitress dropped a plate on the floor and put it back on the pile. I don't want to think about how they cook the food in the back or barely wa [... read more]sh our beach or room towels. However, I have never seen a division of hotel guests the way I saw it in this resort: VIP vs Regular guests. I'm fine with them having a separate beach, bar, room and services; however in a resort with 1000 guests where 800-900 of them are regular, I didn't see it proper for them one day all of a sudden to reserve half of the beach outside their VIP beach area for the 100-200 of them, especially when there's signs saying 'Forbidden to reserve sun beds'. Everyone was wondering around trying to find a sun bed where to stay - not so nice. The beds were barely used. Just an inconvenience for the rest of us. If I would go VIP though, I would pay extra to go to a dreams or luxury resort instead of here. Also the big pool for regular hotel guests not clean and very few sun beds available. I never used it for my baby and I wanted to. The VIP pool super clean. It's more for hygenic reasons that I was worried and so should the managers of the resort. Also there was 1700 people at the resort at one point and only around 500 sun beds. The reason why is because they wanted you to pay for their beds 10$ a day and if you wanted to stay at the pool you had no choice but to pay. The beach and sand was very good with rocks on the bottom but still very good. The food was good for me, even with a one year old. I'm not sure why people have commented here that it's hot when supposed to be cold and vice versa. Not true and that comment really worried me but I found the food better than Cuba so I was happy about that. The resort, hotel and services were not good. The rooms are old, the key to safety deposit was 3.50$ per day. I have never paid for the safety deposit key anywhere else. Everyone at the resort is trying to sell you timeshare or excursions. For the 10 days I stayed, there always was someone trying to sell you something. If people want to buy gifts, they will walk to the shops or go book excursions. Also, the majority of guests were European so it's true that the staff barely spoke English. Italian and French was mostly heard. Also, you need to pay a deposit to use the kayaks, and only 30 min allowed. I guess they don't want people to stay longer than 30min, which is fair to the other guests but because of the deposit issue, people just didn't bother. So if you are a kayak person and as long as you have a watch on you, then no problem.

Dreams La Romana: What's not to like?

came back a second time and like the first, all around pure happiness. Weather is always good, grounds are immaculate, rooms awesome and food fantastic. Staff are the best even though it was pretty busy this time still could always get loungers either on beach or by pools. A la cart restaurants never have to make reservations and again even as busy as it was could always get a table. Love this place.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Beautiful Quiet Resort

We just got back from a very nice, relaxing vacation. Food and service were good, facilities were very very clean. Room was clean, fridge stocked nothing missing. The beach is very nice but as most other comments the water is not crystal clear, which is not very inviting... so if you like to swim in ocean this may not be the ideal place for you. The ambiance is cool, one pool for activities and the other for relaxing. Our only negative comment is the night life, there is none!! at 11.00 sharp  [... read more]the resort closes down. the lights turn off, the bars close and it's straight to bed. It's unfortunate because we had dinner reservations for 9.30 and it would have been nice to have time for a night cap before bed. maybe midnight would be better.. In my opinion paying the extra to be at the adults only is worth it so don't hesitate.

Dreams La Romana: A resort you don't want to miss.

We went with our extended family, ranging in age from 18 months and older. We all really enjoyed our visit to this hotel. It is a short ride from the airport and with small children this was a real bonus. Everything was of high caliber. Our room was very comfortable, clean and quite spacious. The staff where very friendly and helpful. The food was good and the coffee shop was a lovely bonus.

Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach: Loved it!

The room is NOT beautifull, but all the rest is! Wounderfull beach. excellent restaurants. great staff. And it took only 45 minutes both ways to travel from airport/hotel. I was travelling with a baby, and she love it too!

The resort was good, food and service okay. The one thing that annoyed us is that we paid the extra for the luxury and all the events were at the main resort. When we tried to order a premium liquor at the mail resort they refused us saying it was not included even though we had the wrist bands indicating we were entitled. Weare Cadaques Bayahibe: Property is great... staff and service is very poor.

Property is in a great location. However, the staff service were very poor. In the beginning nobody smiled... later on we got a couple staff to smile. The drinks were watered down no-name brands... any common brands were not included. No mix, other than soda pop... very cheap draft blonde beer. Line up and wait for service with a single bar tender. Usually overwhelmed. With a little attention to detail, this place could be amazing... but, as it is it's a two star at best!

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Fantastic Resort!! Great Service!!

There is lots of chairs/lounges around both pools and the beach. You never need to reserve a spot. The food was great at both the buffet and the newly opened gourmet restaurant. Service in all the dining areas is spectacular. The entertainment staff are very friendly and engaging with all the guests.

Weare Cadaques Bayahibe: Picturesque resort with miles of beaches to walk

This resort is perfect if you are not a big fan of over sized commercial resorts. Never had to worry about beach or pool chairs, beach area never felt overcrowded and their was a beautiful pier to lounge on / enter the water from if you preferred. The view from the beach was peaceful and picturesque and water was crystal clear. Your could walk for miles in both direction along the beach, (one direction leads you to a locals market area) Our room appeared to be updated, was very clean and [... read more] nicely laid out and the water pressure in our room was amazing (as good as home) The grounds were nicely kept, continually saw workers sweeping, cleaning them and the sandy beach activity area was raked every morning 1 swim up bar (which I wish I spent more time at) is very nice, the bartender we had Vicana (we called her Vicki) was very nice, smiled and joked and took pictures for us, pool was a great temperature and had varying depth making it easy to both swim and walk through the pool Here is a short list of what this hotel needs to do to take it to another level There is only 1 buffet & 1 Al la cart restaurant - there were no signs to advise what the meals were but meals appeared to be basically the same daily. Although the hotel has a massive water park that would be awesome for families there was very little "kid friendly food" (i.e french fries, chicken fingers hot dogs etc). it would be nice if they mixed it up a bit just so the food didn't appear to be the same day in and day out. The Al la cart restaurant is small and quaint but only has 3 meal plans (Mexican, Italian and Gourmet) and the menu does not change just repeats. Our servers were great, as soon as they saw us walk in they had our wine poured and brought to the table without a word being said. There is 1 main bar (by the buffet / beach) service varied a tonne depended on the bartender and only 1 or 2 actually smiled unfortunately. most struggled or didn't speak English. Cocktail variety appeared minimal probably because of the language barrier of being able to ask for it. Watched a guest get upset because he wanted Dark rum on ice but he kept saying "not white" so they dumped the white rum on ice they made and then poured white rum in a glass without ice and tried to give it to him...... If they had a "featured drink list" of some specialties in the different languages/ with pics probably would have helped the bartenders and the guests Service got much better over the course of the week (probably because we tipped so they became very helpful to us) - if you expect to be able to communicate only in English you will be disappointed as most the staff just don't speak anything but Spanish, most frustrating was asking for butter and no one understood what we were looking for.... I'm not one that needs to be waited on a tonne to be happy so I would defiantly go back but I hope they read the reviews and take to heart the little things because that would tip it from "nice" to an amazing resort.... .

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: I will be returning to this Hotel!!

The whole property is amazing and very spacious. We never had to wait in line-ups because the service was amazing. The best part of the Hotel is the people (staff). The animation team is amazing!! Teddy Bear and Mantaraya were my favorites because they made me feel so special and I was never bored because they made sure I would participate in all the events! Dreams Dominicus La Romana: Enjoyed our Holiday at Dreams Dominicus

What a beautiful resort. The entertainment staff stand out to me as being one of the best parts of our vacation. They worked so hard and were so enjoyable. The food was also amazing . The a la carts were done very well and the food was excellent. It was great not having to reserve. There is a few things that need improvement. The language barrier was a big one, a lot of staff couldn't speak English. At coffee bar wanted a Spanish coffee , they did not know what it was, and could not un [... read more]derstand us when we tried to explain it. It would be helpful to have a list of drinks with ingredients listed to delete the confusion at the bars. Also for some reason we often got mugs and glasses that were dirty. One night we got a beer with a straw paper cover in it . Also one morning my coffee mug had lipstick and imprint of lips on the outside of mug. Not sure if they dont have a good dishwasher or , it appeared the glasses and mugs may have just been rinsed off. This grossed me out. I felt that at bars and restaurants they need to improve on their organization it often seemed they were running scattered. There is not a lot of shade on the beach and we had to always ask for umbrellas . Just invest in more umbrellas ....problem solved. I understand they just opened and i feel that if they listen to the reviews and address some of the issues this resort will be amazing.

We stayed for 1 week. The Resort checked all the boxes for us...clean, modern, excellent pool area, pool bars, entertainment, excellent service, great food at the a la cartes and buffets. We would definitely return.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Nice resort

This was my second time at this resort and the service was not as good as last year but better than other resorts I have been at. We never met the butler but did not really need one. We met up with some friends and we were not greeted the same which is not that big of a deal for us but the lack of consistency is a problem. We sat around the pools most of the times and sometimes we did not see any waiters and sometimes we did. Overall it is a very nice resort and friendly staff.

Luxury Bahia Principe Bougainville........I have nothing bad to say......Rooms were very spacious, luxurious, clean and welcoming. The food.......Oh My God, the food.......phenomenal is the word that best describes it for me. Regardless of your preferences, there was always an excellent selection for all tastes. Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Best Resort Ever!!!

This was our 2nd time to this resort and it didn't disappoint. It has expanded and added more rooms, another pool, and a Gourmet and Japanese restaurants. The service at this resort is a 10star! We had the most amazing service all week, from our Butler(who was by far the best ever.. Fausto), our servers at the lobby bar, our breakfast, lunch, and dinners at the buffets, but the Gourmet restaurant is the cream of the crop. Dreams La Romana: Children Everywhere!

This is an excellent resort. They offer many great childrens programs which means that there an extradorinary amount of youngsters running amok. Where are their parents!? Soccerballs in the lobby bar - plants being defoliated - kids at the swim-up bar, throwing balls at hotel guests (if accidental, then apologize!!). Great room service, maid service, bar service, dinner service. Internet only so-so but free!. Pools clean and warm, beach calm, sandy, and warm, chairs and shade.
