Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Excellent affordable holiday

Comfortable rooms, great pools. We stayed in the adult only pool section that was close to the breakfast restaurant and the bar. There was an area designated for smokers. The food could have had a more upscale menu and variety however I never went hungry. Many repeat customers were there. It is our third time and would definitely return!

Plaza Pelicanos Club: Resort going downhill!

I have been coming to this resort for a few years. It has definitely gone downhill! The rooms are tired looking, some of the patio doors didn’t lock and the smell of sewer throughout the hotel was not nice. The pool was quite often dirty with straws and cups and other miscellaneous items in it. The food at the buffet was not of a good quality and all of my dinners were spent off the resort!

The service was incredible as the staff were so friendly and helpful (especially Lorenzo). The food was amazing, the drinks delicious, the views were beautiful, and we loved every minute of the time at the beach! The weather was very hot so it was great to come back from a day on the beach or wandering around Bucerias to hang out in an A/C cooled room for an hour or two before heading down for dinner. Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: Nice resort!

Our reservation was with Hotel but when we got there, they upgraded us to the Hacienda with a bigger room with two double beds, which was great. We thought this is good. It’s on the quiet, side, adult side it should be quiet. During the day it was good, but at night time they hosted many corporate parties for many of the locals. So it was very very very loud at night till 11 or 12 o’clock. Other than that the food was good the staff was excellent. We enjoyed our walks on the beach and it was very warm hot actually. Would we come back, probably not unless they can do something with the loud music at night like why do they have to have parties right in the middle of the courtyard with all those rooms around with other guests that don’t appreciate it.

Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel and Mexican Charm: Great location

Left and right you’re minutes away on foot from malls, shops and grocery stores and a short drive to downtown and Malecon. For a 3 star resort, food and drinks are great; all the staff and I mean every single one who works in this resort is incredibly polite and attentive. I think they are the main reason this resort thrives despite the hotel being old. Overall, we are happy with our stay in this resort.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Great service!

Staff was very accommodating, moved me to a ground floor room because of Mobility issues. Service was great, meal service was great, food not so much. Several days the choices were so poor we left the resort to eat. Thai dinner was good. Japanese dinner was so bad we left halfway through. Overall a good experience, I will be back. West Jet people were great.

Tropicana Hotel: Great location not so great hotel

We stayed in their economy room which we will refer to as the dungeon The air conditioner at night would sound like a squealing plane so loud I recorded it and played it for them but would be fine during the day latch on the door had been broken off poorly kept room hole in shower ceiling. At check in we had to request our wristband for our paid breakfast and were given the wrong tv remote we had to have someone come to our room to figure that out. Back to the air conditioning when it squealed at night we would turn it off turn on the ceiling fan which made a loud squeak on every turn

Riu Vallarta: Lovely resort

Excellent outdoor activities and great facilities Excellent room service and love the bathroom and king size bed . Our balcony gave us an excellent view of the outside including the ocean even though it was a partial view. Nice bar overlooking the beach and great view of the daily sunset. However would love to have that bar open until 7pm instead of 6

Buenaventura Grand Hotel and Great Moments: In four years since we were there last This resort has gone from a four and a half star to barely a three star resort

The rooms were nice and well kept. The breakfast were the only good meals served. The rest were often cold and some barely edible. The front desk couldn’t or wouldn’t help or provide simple basics such as providing bottled water or converting large currency to smaller bills for tipping the bar staff and servers. The pools were not clean. The water smelled bad and was way too warm. When we needed medical help the staff took a long time to arrive at our room and didn’t have basic medical su [... read more]pplies (glove) to provide help then gave completely wrong information to the doctor and ambulance. There was no need to call ambulance services. We found booking excursions through WestJet was way more expensive than vendors we met on the beach. Twenty-five percent more for exactly the same trip. The beach was left a mess after an event. They’re plastic lock straps and pieces of wood with screws protruding through it. Overall it was disappointing to see the decline in this resort since 2019.

We had a 3rd floor ocean view which was great. The hotel offered six different pools and we utilized the adults only one and were glad of this as there were a number of young children present although this did not affect the dining areas. The grounds were neatly kept and the area certainly had a Mexican ambience. The main dining area was large and open that made it possible to be breezy.. Although the buildings were older, our room which had a king size bed was comfortable and clean. We were  [... read more]impressed by the wide, long sandy beach that reached for some distance and to our amazement, the ocean water was rather warm and pleasant. The breakfasts were great as we usually had the omelets, papaya, croissants or sweet buns. Although there was a variety of fresh salads and cut vegetables, we avoided these as we were considered the possibility of contaminated water (which didn't seem to affect those who used them). The special dining opportunities were better than the main hall and we considered the Japanese one to be better than the rest. We walked up the hill to the large grocery store where my husband purchased a 10 litre jug of purified water weighing 22 pounds and this lasted us for over five days although he maids did supply us with 3 half litre bottles of water. . The Day of the Dead performance was great! We found that service of the servers and maids was commendable while main desk personnel were helpful. We were happy with this resort considering the price.

Riu Flamingos: Amazing resort

The food/drinks/rooms were awesome!!! Food was so good…rooms very clean…overall staff was awesome and considerate…everything was great. We would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. RIU is an awesome brand..best ones we like

I have been to this resort many times in the past. I was very disappointed this time. I preface this statement by saying that I adore Mexican people, but the resort was totally centred around the Mexican guests. The trivia contests were all Mexican, the shows were predominantly spoken in Mexican, and I feel that that should’ve been more English as this is advertised in North America as a holiday result for Canadians. Had a warning been given we could have made arrangements to go outside of the resort and escape the noise , my friend and roommate had been sick that day, and the music annoys went on until the early hours of the morning. We were not the only ones upset by this. They had a Mexican night, but it was nothing like the Mexican nights in the past, and as for the food, it was terrible , my last night dinner consisted of a plate of carrots! Two of my friends became sick from the food eaten at the resort. I am sorry to have to write this as I have always been in favour of the royal Decameron. The WestJet representative was there for one day only , apparently there’s a takeover going on, and the WestJet employees have to be retrained

Canto Del Sol: Great Holiday

Just got back from a great week at the Canto Del Sol in Puerto Vallarta. The whole package was handled perfectly by Sunwing. Flights were on time, transportation to and from the resort exactly as (and when) promised. The resort itself was great. Wonderful food, comfortable room, clean and well maintained grounds. 7 days of perfect weather.

I found the complex catered to the Spainish speaking customer and as 90% of the people here were from these countries it made scene The food was very much the same every day There were 5 restaurants you could book but it required you to make a reservation by 8am that day

Sunset Plaza Beach Resort & Spa: Awesome food!

Really enjoyed the stay. Staff was great. Food was excellent, made to order. All inclusive is the way to go. Rooms and balconies are large with ocean view Smaller resort with big personality and a chill vibe Would definitely stay again!

Crown Paradise Golden: Crown Paradise

I have a mixed experience with Crown Paradise Golden. The first visit in May 2023 was above expectations. The perfect location, a good beach, and exceptional service. However, the second stay was disappointing. The resort did not move to another place: the same beach, the exact same location, the same pool. But the quality of service definitely went down significantly. The resort is short-staffed, with long lines everywhere and endless waiting for room service. The food in the buffet is pretty m [... read more]uch the same every single day, with no variety of choices. I am not a big fan of alcohol, but I found cocktails are too watery (with traces of some alcohol in). The beer and wine are still good. Cleaning (with small tips on) is still good. Staff are still friendly, but very tired because of plenty of work and indifferent if you need some extra help and you don't have bucks in your hands. This is something negative that came from Cancun and definitely further influence of it will make PVR less attractive in the future. We were surprised by service degradation in just four months since the last visit. Very disappointing! Once again, it has nothing to do with personnel but management. Unfortunately, I can not recommend this resort and would not return myself.

Good size rooms. Beautiful well kept grounds. Great variety of food at restaurants. Entertainment variety commendable. Wonderful , friendly and helpful staff. Looking forward to our next visit early next year.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: No so great experience

Me and my husband arrived to Royal Decameron complex on October 7/23. Front desk stuff speaks very little of English. The beach was good and buffet stuff was friendly and quick to clean the table.Buffet does not have windows and of course no air conditioning- what h is big minus to the resort. Because of hurricane Lidia that hit resort on Tuesday, the power was off for sort period and generator picked up and we had lights in rooms, hallways , but NO air conditioning, no TV, and interruptions o [... read more]f internet. Air conditioner in my room broke and I reported it to the front desk. Nobody came to check and I’ve been told that nobody’s working only for guests with serious medical conditions. Whenever I asked front stuff at the main reception or Flamingo section reception- nobody knew anything about air conditioning. I reported many times and asked to come and check out my room. Finally Friday evening everyone got their air conditioner working and mine was still NOT working with heat every day of 33-35. Thursday, Friday and all nights - it was nightmare for me. I left on Saturday and still no air conditioning in my room. It was totally ruined vacations and I will never ever go back again.

We have been to The Royal Decameron 5 times and this past experience will not make us go back there again. We have always kept an open mind when travelling to Mexico (ie: food, drinks, cleanliness, pools, spa and service) Royal Decameron was lacking all of these factors! Let’s start with the positives: 1) The transfer from the airport was excellent and very efficient 2) unfortunately that was all the positives. Now let’s get to the “needs improvements”: The food: although we didn’t [... read more] starve the food was less than appetizing. We found ourselves dining at restaurants outside of the resort. The food was “recycled” what the guests didn’t eat for dinner was “recreated” for breakfast, then lunch then round 2 for another dinner. Heaven forbid you wanted to take a pastry out of the restaurant to have with your coffee….the guard at the door quickly reminds you of the strict policy. The drinks: Let’s just say we drank more water than alcohol! The drinks were a) watered down b) inconsistent c) unavailable d) ridiculously sweet or e)all of the above. The service: What service?? At The Royal Decameron you don’t matter. They could take ya or leave ya! Not hospitable, not friendly and definitely not a priority! The cleanliness: The grounds used to be impeccable…not this time! There was garbage, used cups, uncut grass, hundreds of dead bugs and cigarette butts everywhere. Our gecko friends felt free to come and go from our room because there is no seal around the doors. A complete renovation of the furniture, decor, painting and plumbing is recommended before someone gets hurt. Hard beds, and squished pillows made for sleepless nights. The pools: although very warm, they were disgusting! All of them had sludgy water with no sense of urgency to clean them. The spa: the massage itself was actually quite nice but they were not set up to let us use the amenities. The “waterfall” was not turned on, the sauna was cold and there was more humidity outside than in the steam room. Like I said, we are pretty easy going travellers and we have never wanted to leave a resort so bad as we did during our recent stay at The Royal Decameron. The sad part is, with the price of travelling these days we paid more then we ever had to stay there. LESSON LEARNED! Such a shame!!

Riu Flamingos: Wonderful, inviting place to visit

The staff were incredible, so happy and accommodating no matter what the circumstances. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Food was good, accommodation was great, clean and tidy. We were very well looked after. Thank you
