Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Barceló review 👎🏽

We have been traveling to Barceló maya since 2001 2 -3 trips a year till Covid started so for the last 2 years we haven’t been. This trip was horrible, the hotel is short help and it reflects it. Service was bad, all washrooms around the resort were not taken care of, food was ok… management is aware of the situation and can’t do anything about it. Pools were also dirty, beach was ok…We will not be returning for a while with hopes they correct the issues and not let the resort fall apar [... read more]t.

Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: Wonderful resort

Hotel accomadations,food,entertainment were excellent.we would return again to this resort.the food was very diversified always a variety for everyone.the entertainment was very professional as the pool area always had something happening

Ocean Maya Royale: Refreshing week

Ocean Maya had managed well throughout Covid. It’s our fourth time their, twice since Covid hit. The staff are so friendly, rooms clean, and the food is always great. Always something to satisfy the palate. Mike’s Coffee shop is a daily tradition and so satisfying. Would go back again in a heartbeat.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Not what we expected

Although the hotel was clean and maintained there clearly was not enough staff to handle the number of people at the resort. There were not enough lounge chairs or available shade for respite from the sun. There were very few staff monitoring use of masks and maintaining social distancing. If you cannot walk any distance or drag yourself and luggage up stairs do not vacation at this hotel. The hotel is spread out and requires a lot of walking or use of the trolley buses just to get to all meals. [... read more] You will also spend up to two hours on a bus from the airport as guests are dropped off at various hotels enroute. Rooms were not adequately air conditioned and we woke up to a hot room every morning. Main restaurant was extremely hot as well with ceiling fans running but inadequate a/c. The a la carte restaurant was lovely and a very enjoyable meal and service. Unfortunately it was near impossible to book the three dinners in the a la carte restaurants as they were mostly closed. We could only book two dinners even though we attempted to book five days in advance. The booking site was not user friendly neither was the online check in site.

Selection Riviera Cancun: Very nice place

Amenities, services, food and drinks were extraordinary. The beach is very narrow and due to the seaweed, was impossible to walk or even stay there. Water was really murky, I am not sure it was because of the seaweed, wind or just the way it is. We stayed at the pool and that was fine, there were never shortages of lounge chairs. They served drinks right at your chair and each day they had a pop up kitchen that was good for lunch at the pool. What we did not like was the fact that there  [... read more]were some private events at night that took away the quietness and some during day time that hijacked the adults only pool. In our 10 days, 3 of these happened and it seemed a little ... odd ... since we paid for the "adult" pool for the entire time. If they would stop with these private events and the beach would be clean, we would consider going back, but since the latter will only improve on the seaweed level, we will look for a different place next time

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Very good resort

We have been going to the Bahia resorts for many years food is good in buffets and the a la cart restaurants, grounds are well kept and well cared for, we stayed in the adult section rooms in need of upgrade/maintenance, Beach unfortunately is full of seaweed the clean up guys do an amazing job of taking care of it main beach was always clean small beach in front of infinity pool also kept clean. Las Palmas by the Sea: friendly staff and many return visitors

this place is popular with canadians. very thankful that people are respectful of the covid mandates here .. masks are worn when you leave your room, walking around, in bars/restaurants when not seated at your table, and when not eating or drinking. if you can't maintain a distance from people, wear it. hand sanitizer is easy to find. the place is clean, well run, in a good location south of the marina, north of the malecon.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Bring water shoes

Very much enjoyed the resort. Food was excellent, friendly staff, comfortable rooms. I forgot my water shoes so wasn’t in the ocean as much as I’d hoped. I’d definitely return with shoes in hand. The resident flamingos were a plus.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great Resort, Poor Food & Service

The rooms, pools, resort itself were all amazing! That being said, we were very disappointed in the quality of food and the service (reduced staff from Covid) Also the lack of nightly entertainment and how poorly the A La Carte’s were ran (also reduced capacity and staff due to Covid) We would try this resort out again after Covid is completely behind us and they are back to running at full capacity….but it would have to be at 4 star pricing, because that is what this resort was overall, at  [... read more]best.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Maybe for families on a budget

Cleanliness was less than expected, but we usually do 5 stars. Tiles missing from the pool, ring of mildew around the pool bar, bathroom floor not washed. Check in took 1 1/2 hours 😠 Food was okay. Mexican and Italian really good, Steakhouse was not worth the 1.5 hour wait, food was cold, but our server was lovely. Air conditioning didn’t work in our room for 2 nights. Las Brisas Huatulco: Excellent resort

Spectacular view of the ocean, clean and spacious room. Love the way the resort is designed. Make you feel if you were in Greece. The beaches are also very nice. The staff are very friendly. Love the vibes of the resort.

Las Palmas by the Sea: Loved it here!

One of the most authentic resorts I ever stayed in. B artender David was the best! People were welcoming and we had tons of fun. The only bad thing was I had 100$ and a debit card missing from my room. So be aware..watch your surroundings all the time. The location of the hotel was great and Cameron express next to the resort was amazingfor seafood!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Visit #6 for me!

I love this hotel. Staffing was short due to pandemic but they still did a great job all around. Masking at the bars and in the buffet still in place. The only negative I have about Sirenis is they do not appreciate their repeat guests in any way. Too focussed on their members to care about anyone else.

Royalton CHIC Cancun: Would recommend

We booked our trip (two couples) approximately 3-4 weeks prior to arrival. The transfer to the resort was easy and stress free. Upon arrival we were given a cold drink and registered into the resort. Not staffs fault but very hard to hear them speaking behind the plexi glass and masks. Rooms were large and clean, although could use some TLC. Would recommend this resort for someone but I don’t think we’d go back only because I found the resort and surrounding area a bit too busy for us, maybe it was everyone booking trips once the restrictions were lifted. Hyatt Zilara Cancun: The staff were AWESOME!

It was so great to travel to Cancun and every last detail, from the food, the service and the details like cabana view at poolside were all 5 stars at the Hyatt Zilara! Can’t wait to go again in Oct!

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Not quite up to their usual standards

Gorgeous resort with very nice pools and well kept gardens. Was a little disappointed in the quality of food. It was good but not the usual great. Rooms are a little dated for a 5 star. The towel game is going strong for a place at one of the pools. While the beach is beautiful, there is no access by the main pool area and seaweed is abundant. They really made an effort with masking and safety protocols. If you fly with Air Canada, beware that the rep is never in the office. Covid test (antigen) was not free. Most resorts it is included. It’s a long (took 2 hours) drive from the airport but if you take a private car, it’s about an hour. Overall a good time was had but wasn’t quite as good as I expected from a Karisma resort. I’m sure this is a result of covid and I hope they can get back to their usual standards soon.

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: Fantastic

I must give a huge shout out to Jessica and German who are part of the animation team. Juan, the bartender at the pool bar and the staff all around were incredible. It was so nice to be a part of living with other people after this stupid covid thing and this is the resort to do it at. I highly recommend this resort but you have to bring your fun side with you in order to get the most out of your experience here.

Catalonia Royal Tulum: Excellent resort.

Beautiful resort. Small but has everything you need for a great holiday. Very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. The beach was disappointing because they had a real problem with an invasive type of seaweed. Might only be at certain times of the year. Not their fault.Nature.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Paradisus Playa del Carmen

This facility is very clean, staff were extremely helpful and friendly. There are your typical restaurants such as Italian, Oriental and Steak house. The main buffet restaurant is by far the smallest buffet I've seen. This is my 7th facility and by far the lowest rating. The food was for the most part warm at best. The selection is limited and would repeat frequently. For what it cost I would have expected better.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Lovely Mexico vacation!

We had a fabulous time enjoying the iberostar in the beautiful location of playa Mita. The live music and outside lunches were a treat! Our ocean front room was large, had everything we needed, a comfy bed and an amazing view of the long clean beach. The food was great everywhere, the drinks and wine were nice and served with pleasantries. The nightly entertainment was fun and entertaining.
