Barcelo Maya Palace: Absolutely Amazing Resort!

Our travel agent, Karol Chareza has been telling us about this amazing resort and how awesome it is for years. We finally got to see it for ourselves. My family and I stayed at the Barceló Maya Palace for 10 days in January 2019. It was everything my family and I expected and more. The rooms were spacious and very clean. We had fresh towels each day and the in room bar fridge was stocked daily with drinks and snacks. The PEOPLE that work at this resort are over the top amazing. Very happy to help and always greeting you with a smile. We ate at the Marenostrum were we met two terrific guys, Mario and Antonio. They were the best. They made us a Mayan Coffee. What a show that was and the coffee tasted amazing! We also met Nelson at the Brasserier. He takes service to a whole new level. He made sure we were enjoying the food, drinks and atmosphere. He took the time to talk with us and gave us tips about the report so we didn't miss out on the events around the resort. These are just a few guys that helped to make this trip more amazing. All the employees were over the top amazing! We really enjoyed the beach. The sea turtle were right there and we swam with them each day and really enjoyed feeding them bananas. The pools were a tad on the cold side, so we mostly hung out at the beach. We enjoyed every minute. We also swam with the Dolphins that were right there at the resort. Very convenient. We did a day tour to Cozumel. Booking this trip was seamless. The resort travel group took care of everything. We were picked up and dropped off on time. This resort had everything you needed. There was a mall on site, a bowling ally, lost of shops around to purchase any souvenirs and you did not have to walk far to get to everything. There was a bus that went to each resort all day so you could get around very quickly. This was my family's fist tropical trip together and we are already planning to return. It was so much fun and we would recommend this resort to all our friends. Thank you Karol for helping us set up this amazing trip. You always know how to send us to the best places. :)

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Fantastic Resort

Just returned from Iberostar Lindo in the Mayan Riviera.....had a great holiday with my Daughter... I love this resort...Staff are very helpful, pleasant and hard working...property is beautiful...well maintained..our room was very clean and well stocked..including various drinks in the fridge...We stayed in building 51 which was near the pools and not far from the beach...lots of shaded areas for those who do not like sun around the pool..but the same for the sun lovers...grass covered shades  [... read more]are plentiful on the beach and around the pool...pool was rather chilly..but on a hot day...who cares..you get used to it..the sea was warmer...and not too rough while we were there..sandy, clean , minimal seaweed...and was whisked away by the tractor rakes daily.....we stayed around the pool most afternoons.my daughters choice.lots of activity going on for anyone who wanted to get involved..tremendous bar service poolside by staff ...most days Angela was our server..she was fantastic..friendly and courteous..the inpool bar was inviting too.. Beds were comfortable..many eating areas to select from during the day...plentiful fruit ..and food selections...we enjoyed the speciality restaurants we went to..especially Japanese.. This is a large resort and we were near the beach..there are many golf cart like buses that travel around and you can just hop on and get to destination..alternately you can call for one ..there is one or two Conceirges available in each building, so makes things like booking specialty restaurants easy...getting a ride....as well as passing any concerns to the right department. There is a “shopping plaza” on the grounds that has a few stores ....but there also is a small casino located there..a disco if you have interest..a place where kids can get cotton candy and other sweets which is included in your package.. a merry-go-round.. ...as well as a fantastic crepe bar..we loved that place..yum..also a place to get your speciality coffees and latees etc..donuts and sandwiches..’(there also is another coffee shop like this open 24 hrs a day just through the main lobby to the left in the Lindo) Transportation was on time and efficient to and from the airport... Platinum Yucatan Princess: TLC Needed

This was probably a wonderful resort a few years ago, but it has fallen in disrepair, and it is not due to lack of maintenance, there was always someone cleaning, fixing, maintaining something, it is due to age, things wear out and need to be replaced. We found the over all resort clean, but things like dirty drapes, bed spreads, mattress and throw pillows have seen better days. The main pool is in serious need of being drained and tiled, there were always tiles missing, to the point they lay ma [... read more]ts on the pool floor to make sure people do not cut themselves on missing tiles. The rooms are spacious and clean, the food was always good, have to say one of the best buffets we have had, food was always different everyday, and cooked well. The Italian and Japanese were by far the best restaurants. Tex/ Mex was not bad--just not great. The shows were your normal dance shows. The entertainment people were amazing, always keeping people engaged and the energy was high. It did seem like a more younger crowd the week we were there. not sure if that was normal or not. The resort is huge, joined to 2 other resorts, that you have full use of. The only problem with going to the other resort, you will be hit up every few feet by a time share sales pitch, it really did get annoying, as polite as they were. On the Platinum resort, you will be hit up by spa and massage sales, again, polite but continuous becomes annoying. we ended up using a back path at times to avoid the spa people, we called it avoidance lane, it by passed them easily, but really this should not be happening. Over all for the price we paid we felt we got value for our money. We would come back at the prices we paid, an amazing last minute deal, but if the prices went much higher, there are many other resorts in much better condition. We are really hoping a reno is done here, could see it becoming a favorite with a little TLC done.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Totally Awesome

This was my 5th time at the Grand Palladuim and the first time for my partner. I keep going back because whether it's the beach, pools, food drinks, staff, activities, the wild and garden areas, it never fails to impress me......Best value for money in the Maya Riveira.

Paradisus Playa Del Carmen Roulette: Paradisus resort-AMAZING

I was recently at Paradisus resort with my mom and sister for a week long getaway. It was nothing less than breathtaking! The resort has spared no expense and overlooked nothing as far as beauty and relaxation goes. The room was wonderful with modern finishings, the view was spectacular and housekeeping was like nothing I’ve experienced before. The restaurants were mind blowing! Hugo the Zumba aquasize instructor was nothing less then mesmerizing! The only time I managed to brave the pool was when he was showing off his moves and let me just say that man can move! Pool side waiters were friendly, Christopher and the rest of the entertainment staff were wonderful! The shows at the the theatre were spectacular. All in all our stay at the resort was wonderful and I would highly, highly recommend anyone considering this place for a holiday!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Beautiful Setting

Nice vacation.Good buffet. Water for showers sometimes on the cold side. A la carte seafood dinner was a letdown.Staff mostly helpful and friendly. Was not always easy to find a beach chair.Too many were "Reserved" by having a towel laid on them.Beach vendors were polite and not overly aggressive.We were pleasantly surprised at the lack of bugs! Beach was well maintained (seaweed cleanup etc.)

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Great resort

The resort was very large. We got lost a few times but managed to find what we were looking for eventually. The food at the buffet was good, with a vast variety. The a la carte restaurants were excellent. The beach was beautiful . The ocean was a little rocky but only close to the shore. I had a wonderful massage on the beach. I would definately go back.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Nice resort, but probably won't return

This is a huge resort with nice amenities. Rooms have a nice, clean contemporary style to them. I heard they were newly renovated. They don't have any drawers though. It has an ice cream spot right by the pool, a relaxing lazy river, and a delicious BBQ buffet at the beach. However, the size of the resort is a slight downfall. The gym/spa was about a 20 minute walk from our room! We waited 10 minutes for the trolly (which comes every 20 minutes), but when it came, a group of 3 just showed up and [... read more] hopped on and filled the trolly. When I told the staff member I've been waiting for 10 minutes, he told me I'll have to wait another 20. WHAT!?!?! The main buffet had terrible food. The Japanese and Brazilian al a cart restaurants were AMAZING though! The tequila bar makes the best drinks. I would go there specifically if I wanted to actually enjoy my drink. The coffee at this resort is terrible. I love coffee and drink whatever, but I couldn't even bring myself to stomach it. I didn't touch it after a few tries. While in the lazy river, staff turned it off (at 6:23pm, they were either really late or early), so I had to walk through the water the rest of the way only to find someone took my boyfriend's only pair of sandals. He had to walk back to the room barefoot. The cleaning staff were iffy. The first day they didn't clean the room. They only made up the bed and replaced the towels. However, on other days they were really good and even made us some cute towel animals. Overall, my stay was okay. I've been to better resorts, but this one wasn't bad. I enjoyed my stay.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Friendly Staff

The resort has very friendly staff, they are very attentive. The rooms were not the cleanest, specifically the bathroom. Other friends in our parties rooms were fine; but ours wasn’t done very thoroughly. I didn’t find the drinks were watered down; and the food was good. I definitely recommend the Japanese and Brazilian restaurants.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: The resort is great!

Except for the stinky smell of stale tobacco from the curtains and the towels everything else was absolutely great at this resort! That smell even came home on my suitcase. Driving back home from Toronto I noticed that my car smelled of stale smoke. It’s a new car and has never been smoked in.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Absolutely Stunning!

Loved the hotel grounds. So beautiful! The staff is super friendly and helpful. Majority speak English, there are some throughout the resort that don’t, however they can understand you and you get by. My boyfriend and I stayed for a week and we definitely enjoyed our stay at Tulum and we would definitely go back but I think we would stay for at least 10 days. Resort is very big so be prepared to walk a lot and shares it’s amenities with Coba. We chose tulum because it’s very close to the b [... read more]each and I found more couples / younger crowds here. I would say choose Coba if you are going with family. Beach was gorgeous, lots of fish so bring snorkeling gear! Pool was so fun, very entertaining always something going on. Even my boyfriend enjoyed his stay and he is very picky! Again, I would definitely go again but this time for longer !!

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Still a great resort

Our third time there. We wouldn't be back if it wasn't awesome. We had a great time again. We did notice that the restaurant service was quite a bit slower when we went for dinner. Maybe they lost some staff, but we did notice the change. We had an issue with an air conditioner leak, but with the help of the concierge (Regina) it was very quickly solved. This is still a great place and a great value for a vacation.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Everything you can want in one Resort

The resort is very beautiful with pools and bars located everywhere. Staff was always cleaning and you can tell by how well maintained the property is. The resort has it's own bus which works great for getting from one end to the other. A la cartes that we went to were the Tokyo (great show and food), La Trattoria (food and staff were awesome), Sante Fe (great food and staff was super friendly. The service team was rude ar the front door. The staff inside was decent but the food was disgusting and I personally was sick all night from it. People were leaving without even getting their food because it was taking forever slow service.) Bar staff was great especially in the main lobby bar where we spent almost every night, Jaguar had some good vibes. The mall and the vendors were pretty good to have to souvenirs. The water in the pools was cold but i liked that as it was refreshing from the heat. The beach was well maintained and very little seaweed. The Buffets were all pretty standard but the good was pretty good for a resort buffet. Wifi worked everywhere on the resort. Bellhops were great getting us taxi service for our deep sea fishing excursion that we booked separately. A lot of things to do here with no shortage of food to be had.

The grounds at this resort are well maintained. The resort bedroom we had could use some paint. Very clean rooms, no complaints. Best thing about this resort is the service! The staff were amazingly friendly, professional and good at there jobs. If you ask for something its done asap. Never had to ask twice for anything. We changed rooms after first night as there was only one bed and we needed two. Our move was seamless and done quickly. New room was great. The staff were well trained and really wanted us to be happy at all times. “Alberto” was our favourite server because he was always smiling and super quick at his job. It was nice not to have to bother making reservations at the restaurants (except Japanese which was very good). Mexican restaurant and Route 66 restaurants were not good. The steak house was good, along with the Japanese one. The resort is built right on the ocean and most rooms had an ocean view. It’s a great place for mature adults as its very quiet. No noise issues at all. If you are young and single, this isn’t the place for you! The H10 brand sales staff were annoying, but if you tell them strongly you aren’t interested in buying into the H10 resorts they will leave you alone. If you’ve never been to Mexico before, best advice I can give you is when you arrive at airport and have your luggage and need to get to the transfer vehicle, just keep walking and don’t listen to the sales people trying to sell you transportation and everything else under the sun...keep walking and saying no and make your way outside the airport and for the transportation vans provided to take you to your resort. The only reason I wouldn’t recommend this resort to my friends is because of the food...but I’m also a fussy eater.

Hotel Marina El Cid Spa and Beach Resort: Amazing resort!

This was our second time to the Marina El Cid Resort. There were 6 of us, 2 adults and 4 teens. The kids enjoyed themselves and loved the all inclusive - especially the room service. The food was great with several a la carte restaurants to chose from and a few buffet styles. The two minor negatives that I may have is that they charge for the wifi (only 2 per room are included), which was disappointing for 2 of the kids and they did not give us adjoining rooms. The one major negative is that [... read more] they really push you to attend a 90 minute sales pitch for their Membership Club. We did it for the free message, but it was frustrating, as they don't take the NO answer to their offers, and kept sending another sales person with lower offers (3 times). They say it's not a TIME SHARING but their sales technique are the same. We also did 2 excursions, which were very fun and good, but expensive $2000. I would also suggest to go later in the year like March or April as the pools were still quite cold for me (kids didn't mind).

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Great Resort

Well designed and managed resort. Landscaping is excellent. Ease of movement within the resort grounds is great. Great food and very fresh fruits. Rooms are clean and well maintained. The beach is great and very clean.

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Amazing Resort for People with Allergies

My girlfriend and I were looking for a hotel with a big room and a beachfront. The hotel was beautiful and about a 20 min ride from the airport. Food was great considering my gf and I have food allergies and the entertainment was amazing. I have seafood, chicken, egg and nut allergies and they accommodated pretty good. My only drawback is that during the day, there isn’t much day activities that are indoors but that is just minor and I heard they are opening a bowling alley in 2019. Barcelo Maya Colonial: We loved this place

The hotel and grounds where pristine. The beach was groomed daily and had plently of room to relax. We absolutely loved this resort and will return. Our travel agent marlena was a great help and a pleasure to work with

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Amazing experience and resort!

This hotel was everything we had hoped for and more. We loved that we did not need reservations to the restaurants and food was accessible 24/7! Staff was outstanding and the daily activities were perfect

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Wonderful family vacation spot

The hotels were clean, well organized and well kept. Most important all of the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the flamingoes and crocodiles. The shows were fabulous. Even our 3 and 4 year old grandsons loved the dancing and singing. We appreciated the environmental efforts the hotel is making for example not using plastic disposable cups thus lowering the amount of plastic waste.
