Memories Caribe Beach Resort: nice resort

We travelled to this resort Nov13 to Nov 27.We were two couples in our 50's.We booked the junior suite al fresco diamond club.The room was nice and roomy with an outdoor shower.We sometimes got visitors in the shower (frogs). The only problem we had with the room was bugs. We asked that our rooms and patio be fumigated because we could not sit outside without being bit by tiny bugs (I'm still scratching). This was not done so I used my deep woods off that I've had in my suitcase for years but ne [... read more]ver got to use until now. I would spray it on the bugs in the room around the sink. As far as the resort goes it is very beautiful. Wonderful landscaping. The alfresco suites are closer to the beach and landscaping is lacking there and very wet. The beach is very nice and the diamond club is totally worth it. You get a dedicated section on the beach with the good chairs separate bar and waiter service. The staff in this resort are truly an asset. All of them were wonderful and friendly and would greet us with a hug or a hand shake. Angel luis, Marcel,Juan,Oslen at the pina colada bar by the pool (he makes the most amazing strawberry daiquaries)thank you. Now for the food. On the beach they serve very good pizza, and beside the diamond club bar they have grill there and for 2 weeks all he had there were hot dogs and ham and cheese sandwiches. We saw ketchup the second week and when they started to run low they watered it down and the mustard is watered down also so if you like your condiments bring your own.The welcome dinner for diamond club was very good as were the a la cartes. The buffet is small but they have pasta grill , stir fry (my favourite) fish and meat grill and they carve something new every night. We took the double decker bus one day and went to pillar beach then took it to come back and stopped at the market then took a cab to lenny's for a wonderful dinner (lobster,shrimp, fish, rice and salad for 15cuc). We did find that entertainment was lacking. They had a very good Cuban band that would go around and sing at your table but most people did not want to be bothered while they were eating. We would of liked for them to just set up somewhere and play so that we could enjoy them. We only went to one show and that was the Micheal Jackson show and it was very good.The aquatic show at the pool was good also and the foam party in the pool on Fridays was fun to watch. I have to say that we enjoyed our two weeks very much and would recommend it but we will not be returning. The next time it will be a newer resort probably Santa Maria (our favourite place).

Melia Jardines del Rey: Best Resort!! Cayo Coco

This resort was awesome!! New and clean!!! The staff were exceptional! Beach was fabulous!! Special shout out to Begona, thanks for making our stay memorable! And Victor at the beach bar always friendly and smile on your face!!!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Fantastic Beach! Amazing Staff!

Resort staff are very friendly, provided excellent service and smile always. Food is OK never left restaurant hungry or not satisfied. If you dont eat fish, you're in trouble. The Italian Restaurant was great. Resort is older but they're in process of renovating rooms. Grounds and common area`s are immaculate. Water pressure could be better and hotter. Management needs to be around to see whats going on. There was a huge towel issue. We didnt get beach towels for 2 days and i believe some people [... read more] didnt get them for 5 days. The Beach was very clean...simply awesome. The Entertainment Team was Brilliant and the Kids Club was just fabulous.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Great beach and wonderful staff!!

For a resort that is only 2 years old it was already showing signs of neglect and services inconsistent. Food was OK, but lacked fresh alternatives. Best beach section in the area. Staff were excellent!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: ok resort

Beach was not so nice lots of rocks so bring water shoes. The food was ok the Resort is fine but it's not a amazing the people and the staff were great but you can go anywhere in Cuba and you will get that service .. Cuban people are the most beautiful people to deal with ....Love the country and the people .

Hotel Mojito: Amazing vacation

My husband and I just returned from the Mojito and had an amazing time. This was our second time at this resort and I can't wait to go back. The staff are awesome and go out of their way to make your vacation great. I could not believe how many people remembered us from our trip in April. The food was great although not as many choices as there was in April but the resort was much quieter in November. The entertainment team did a great job during the day getting people involved in activities and [... read more] put on great shows in the evening. The rooms are dated but they keep them spotless. No issues with water pressure or air conditioning. Overall we had a great time and met a lot of amazing people. The beach and ocean are BEAUTIFUL you can walk for ages. And the resort is only 10 minutes from the airport. We were in the pool within an hour of landing. It doesn't get any better than that.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Memories I would rather forget

The people are nice and helpful. The food is typical not very good and not tasty. Mostly cold unless grilled at the back counter. They need an experienced chef or cook. The room was dated. The beds are hard and only a thin blanket. The pool was crystal clear. Very Nice. The ocean was and beach was fine.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Great resort

Resort was nice, food was good but could use more variety. We also would have liked to see more entertainment at the pool (music or more games) Overall experience was great staff was nice and helpful when we needed anything

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Lovely Vacation

If you're looking for a beautiful Cuban beach to spend the days on, this resort is NOT for you. The beach was tiny, and dirty. Did not enjoy the snorkelling there but pilar beach is not far. The staff was amazing, and they made my trip amazing. Night entertainment was awesome! So much dancing and we even got a majic show one night. The hotel is what it is. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Good Vacation!

This was a much needed vacation. Planned and travelled with another couple. The resort had much to offer given the compact size. Excellent pool areas. Lots of fun had at the 24-hour lobby bar and 24-hour snack bar. A la carte restaurants were great; highly recommend the Creole. Best place to eat lunch was at the Ranch behind the snack bar. Beach was good, however, recent storm washed away some sand which left lots of coral stone exposed. Be careful in some spots if you do not have water shoes. [... read more] Lots of fish close to shore for those who enjoy snorkelling. The rooms were excellent; very clean and comfortable. Stayed in the 3000 block, seemed to be one of the best, no issues with hydro or water. Requested for a king but ended up with two queens, pushed them together and had the best bed ever. Surprisingly comfortable sleeps. Air conditioning worked well. For the rainy days, the TV had English movie channels for entertainment. House Keeping was amazing! The ladies had our room spotless and we never ran out of anything. Fridge restocked each day. New sheets and towels whenever needed. Overall - a good vacation, speaking for those that are adult couples.

Hotel is close to airport. Check in was great. Got our rooms early. Rooms were nice and clean. Beach was rocky so bring water shoes. Thought diamond club beach wasn't as nice as other side. Lots of shade on beach . Overall a good place

There was no water for 3 days on and off in the toilet, shower, hand basin. No beach towels only the regular bath towels. Buffet food terrible, cold, undercooked. My wife was sick and diarrhoea many times during the night. I'm still not back to normal as of Nov.23/15. Al carte rest. beef fillet undercooked and uncutable with a steak knife unable to eat it and left it and explained to waiter why we were leaving it. Birds picking at food in La Ranchon Rest and out their bottom on the food. The bea [... read more]ch was dirty and coral right at the beach impossible to walk out into the sea with exception of a 20ft gap where you could walk into the open sea. Nov.17th room was NOT cleaned and at 10:30pm came with a btle of water in place of cleaning. Received 1 coffee sachet for coffee machine to last us the week, impossible. Nov.18 due to retn to Toronto. Breakfast served 7am and starting with COLD scrambled eggs etc. Food should have been warm at 7am. There was no railings going up steps to next step from reception to buffet. No signs to tell you which pathway to take to Reception or Buffet Rest. Our first room was bungalow 7- 3rd floor with 36 steps to climb up to to get to room. They suggested moving us to another room- 2nd room bathtub was too high to get into to take a shower and I was afraid of falling. On 2nd day we requested a room with a shower only which was in Bungalow 1 and it worked out ok. The first 2 rooms you had to walk and walk to the buffet rest with no signs which pathway to take. MEMORIES-FLAMENCO is listed as a 5 star which I would liken it to a 2 star. We have stayed in 3 star locations much better than Memories. WOULD NOT CONSIDER EVER GOING AGAIN TO CUBA - MEMORIES-FLAMENCO NOR RECOMMED THIS LOCATION TO ANY FRIENDS.

Hotel Mojito: Comfortable Family Resort

This was my 4th time returning to the Iberostar Mojito....and the reason I continue to return is the amazing staff. Going back to this resort is like returning home - you are greeted as an old friend - often by name - and made to feel welcome. The actual facility could use some upgrades and sprucing up, however I have no need to be 'in the lap of luxury'. Rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. Food is consistently tasty, well prepared and a good variety is available - however, if you are a g [... read more]ourmand, you may find the food a little plain. Mojito is a good family resort with staff who cannot do enough for you - lots of activities for adults and kids - beautiful beachfront and multiple pools.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great deal, relaxing stay.

First of all, let's be honest, this isn't a North American 5 star hotel, so please don't go if that is what you are looking for. The cost is cheap, so basically you get what you pay for. Our hotel room (we upgraded to a superior double room), wasn't the most modern; however the room was clean and always kept clean by the housekeeping staff. Both my daughter and I had aching backs each morning from the hard bed, and poor pillow...but some people prefer hard beds...I just don't. The doors in the r [... read more]oom and in the hallway were in good need of painting or replacing (probably the latter). This was my third time in Cuba, and I certainly can't say I go for the food; however I thought the food was good for Cuba. I was able to have a salad with my lunch and dinner (never was able to before in Cuba) and there was enough options to choose from. The beach sand was the texture of cornstarch so quite nice. There is a bit of seaweed in the water and on the shore, but the workers cleaned up the beach every morning. Lots of chairs to choose from, although that could be because we went off season. The only thing I was disappointed about was the customer service wasn't always great. The wait staff certainly had some serious shining stars who really went above and beyond, but the rest, well...not so attentive. All in all, for the price I will not complain. I got plenty of sun, lots to eat and drink and had an extremely relaxing vacation.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great resort

The rooms were large. Only 2 single beds or 1 king bed in each room so for a family of 4 u sleep 2 to a single bed. You could not get clean pool towels everyday it was every 3 days or so. The resort waS very clean too

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Very pleasant resort

The rooms were very clean and the staff very helpful and friendly. Nice small resort with pool and beach close to all rooms. Our room was in the Varedaro and the view from our balcony was great! The only complaint was no 24 hour bar or snack bar available. No place to get coffee before 8 o'clock and no coffee makers in rooms. Food choice was not exciting. Lobster hut on the beach was excellent.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Hot water would of been nice

The running water was hit or miss in the room on a daily basis which became a real nusence. The food left a little to be desired but we were warned ahead of time that the food was not the best in Cuba so we didn't have high hopes to begin with. The staff were very friendly and willing to help the best they could. We were only able to exchange the beach towels once during the 7 days we were there because the laundry services were down.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Beautiful!

The grounds were beautiful and well maintained, rooms were lovely and clean. Service left something to be desired, though I understand that the resort was a bit busy and bartenders and servers at the buffet had lots of people to attend to. Excursions were great, though the descriptions weren't accurate on every detail (i.e. Cuba: Sugar, Cigar and Rum trip was a full day with lots to do, but the "cigar and rum" part was just a cigar and bottle of rum they gave you at the end.)

Melia Jardines del Rey: Patience is a must!

The resort is esthetically pleasing and clean. Staff is helpful but at a slow pace. Ocean and pools are lovely. Very disorganized on arrival and departures.We were to have a direct departure from the resort to the airport but we're informed they could only take 35 on the first bus and others would have to wait for a second bus. They had other stops to make. We paid $45 per person for extras which was totally not worth it. We also had issues with our suite. The air conditioner was broken . They d [... read more]id move us later that night however the next suite did not have a working television. That also got corrected the next day. We woke up to flooding of the whole fist level which was sewage water. Our representative did apologize and gave us a bottle of rum a a taxi ride on four of us to the city. They asked we sign a waiver and we did. They compensated us for our bad first two days. However, The first floor flooded 3 more days in a row. We literally had to enter our room by climbing over the exterior balcony Bannister. That wasn't too dangerous as we were on the first floor.Staff was friendly.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Another Great Week at MCG

You know we just spent another amazing week at the Melia Cayo Guillermo. Travelled with a group of 4 and had another amazing time. We have nothing to complain about. Staff are awesome and while some have moved on the new staff are equally amazing and go out of their way to make sure you have a great trip, you just have to let them.
