Melia Las Antillas: Las Antillas

We really liked the resort, although a little dated it was clean and bright. They continually maintained the grounds, cleaned the pools, fixing the elevator which was non functional all week. The food in the a la carte restaurants was amazing! The beach was fantastic. Great sunsets!! The people were friendly!

Muthu Playa Varadero: Pleasantly surprised

After being at this resort 4 years ago, I was pleasantly surprised with the changes. The food at the buffet was blah however the a la cartes were so delicious. The beach was breathtakingly beautiful and clean. Small resort with plenty of bars and entertainment. The rooms were still very outdated with the smell of mold. Our air conditioner control didn't work so we just turned the breaker off. Our safe was broken too. Even with just a few mi or complaints, the staff was very quick and eager to he [... read more]lp. All in all we had a great trip and would all go back again.

Paradisus Varadero: Not a 5 stars anymore...

Bad service at the lobby, particularly from this employee: Dayana Food mediocre at the buffet and restaurants. Beach wonderful Coffee only drinkable at the lobby bar It took over a week to get our room with a king size bed. Tennis courts surface has to be redone. 50% of the employees provide good service. The other half is not trained and doesn't have a clue about customer service.

Melia Marina Varadero: Relaxing Resort

The Melia Marina in Varadero was very nice compared to other hotels. The food was good with lots of choices at the buffet but the 24 hour pool restaurant was another story. Don't go there if your hungry because it takes a long time to get your order. Rooms weren't horrible. The beds are hard and the pillows are thin but they were clean. There wasn't really a whole lot to do there unless you were going out on excursions. Entertainment was good but didn't start till 9:30 at night and only la [... read more]sted about 1/2 hour. Plumbing wasn't very good in the lobby and pool area washrooms. Always plugged and out of paper. Other than that we did what we went to do and that was relax in the sun.

Grand Memories Varadero: Travelled alone and sexually harassed by bellboy

Travelled to resort and stayed in room by myself. My friends were in building next to mine. My door on room 20226 wasn’t working (the battery wasn’t connecting when it jarred from door closing, recoding card did not help). After A LOT of back and forth with the very mean ladies (especially Lisa) at the front desk bellboy JORGE attempted to help me get in my room. Once in, he walked right in, helped himself to a beer in my fridge, tried to pressure me several times to meet him at 2am for drin [... read more]ks after his shift and told me I had a beautiful a$$! He knew I was married, but that didn’t stop him. Thankfully I was able to get him out by declining his offer repeatedly. Oh, the beach was beautiful but it is at ALL the resorts in Varadero! WOMEN TRAVELING ALONE BEWARE! Ps: A lot more to this story but those are the coles notes.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Nice beaches

Hotel Villa Cuba: 8 our of ten

I found the washrooms very small in the pool bar area , I have been at this resort before and would return again. Wonderful staff . Good shows nightly and afternoon I did the tour of Halvana and enjoyed it very much

Starfish Jibacoa: well designed and comfortable!

We lived the layout of the suite: like a tiny home, everything you need. Breakfast was fantastic! Plenty of selection, and long breakfast hours. Friendly staff, I would certainly recommend this place to stay.

Barcelo Solymar: Don’t book this resort

I'm a season traveller with over 25 trips to Cuba and surrounding islands -- this is NOT a resort to go to. It may have once been good -- but that was 10-15 years ago at best. We experienced cockroaches, cold buffet food, dirty towels, stained sheets, raining down water from bathroom ceilings, key cards that continually didn't open doors or the safe and the apathetic hotel staff could not have cared a single iota!! There was a constant stream of irritated guest reporting room issues, changing [... read more] rooms and simply complaining at the front desk and all they did was tell us they would "log the complaint" -- nothing was done! It's Cuba, you get what you get and we know this full well, but this hotel is just not a good experience. It's few redeaming factors are the location close to town, good coffee and the bartending staff at the pool. If you want to party, drink bad alcohol, hook up and you just don't care where you stay for 7 days -- this is the place for you. Otherwise take your hard earned dollars and go elesewhere.

Hotel Villa Cuba: Loved it all

Everyone was very accomdating..the beach was great and a special thanks to Esnay and Harleys from the entertainment staff. A special thanks to the head chef Mr Boris for our amazing dinner. My only concern was that out rooms air conditioning was not working and flooded our room..but it was fixed quickly

Playa Vista Azul: Good resort worth the money

Facility was in good condition. Clean and well maintained. Only facility issue was the shower. The water temperature was either hot or hotter, no matter how much adjustment. Food was ok at best. Lots of variety but so so quality. Air conditioning was excellent. Worked great and was the most quiet I’ve experienced. Pool was good, but the color was green, weird by design. Staff were ok overall. Some gave great service some were poor. Bell boy was way to obvious looking for a tip, even though he  [... read more]didn’t take our bags to the room. Excursion to Havana (one day excursion) was disappointing. Too much guide talking and not enough seeing. The stop at the citadel was just an opportunity to expose use to vendors. Also didn’t visit the market as advertised. Sunwing flight was delayed going out, but sunwing made up for it.

Melia Marina Varadero: Melia Marina is a beautiful Resort

I stayed at this Melia Marina resort and Spa in Varadero Cuba. The resort is lovely, the food wasn't that bad. I was told in advance that the food at Cuban resorts isn't that good, so I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to finds things to eat for breakfast, Lunch and dinner. Most of the staff was friendly although there were a few stand out bad attitudes from the waiting staff in the buffet and Snack Bar. Overall I had a relaxing time. Melia Marina Varadero: Wonderful resort

The hotel lobby and dining area were top notch. The bar in the lobby served the best coffee with steamed milk. The view of the Marina from the balcony was awesome! Our room was ok but dated. I did not like the flat pillows or the shower without a door. The pool people were excellent very friendly and fun! I enjoyed the evening entertainment as well especially the one that was done at poolside. We had wanted to book our room for the last day for an additional 10 hours as our flight left at  [... read more]3:30 in the morning. They could not accommodate as they were full. We had use of a room to shower and change our clothes before leaving but there was no electricity in the room and it was dark in the bathroom and the room was untidy and dirty towels with no clean ones available. I did not end up showering.

Club Kawama: Still the best!

Seems that they are upgrading the grounds and rooms. No shortage of hot water,all services were working the two weeks I spent there. The staff was most pleasant at all times,of course tipping helped. No complaints at all,a most pleasant holiday,weather helped as well,no rain. Thank you for the effort to be able get the time I wanted. So I would say a perfect holiday.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Very disappointing

I would not recommend this hotel to anybody. Customer service is terrible, very poor management, rooms and grounds do not look like on posted pictures, food and drinks poor quality. The only decent food we had was in the a la carte restorants. It’s not even 3 star hotel level but they don’t care because they got your money already.

Club Kawama: Friendly Resort

The only problem I had was my room was on the 3rd floor which was changed the following day to the 1st floor. The food was average but ate out at many of Cuba's restaurants. Went on the Jeep Safari and that was well worth the money. Met many people from last year and had one big party nightly. Loved it and would return again. I recommend this resort if you like a lively place to vacation.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Wonderful vacation

I really liked the Melia resort. Great beach, great entertainment. Food was fine. If I had to be picky, I would have liked a sit down bar on the resort, which would have made it easier to meet people in the evenings. Also, the wifi is pretty weak in Cuba, but I wasn't there to spend my time on the internet. However it does make online check in a little more challenging. Overall, I would recommend this resort, but if I were to go back to Varadero, I would try to get an adults only resort.

Hotel Los Cactus: Very good resort

We have been going to Hotel Los Cactus for 7 years now.We enjoy this resort as it has very clean rooms( Gardenview Suites)very spacious with balconies, excellent beach with lots of chairs and parasols, very nice staff and it includes rounds of golf.It is a very safe place to visit and stay.

Starfish Jibacoa: A second home

My sister-in-law and myself have been coming here for at least 15 yrs now ,at least 20 times.love this resort,the staff in the Buffett and the food is great.lots to choose from.the lobby staff great(Ciro) he is wonderful,the bartenders are great.the cleaners and maids do a great job.my only concern is all the animals,to many,but I will be back.trip central is great to book with and air transat is good to fly with.....marg and Marcia

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Overall very nice resort

Great service; staff is very friendly and helpful. Resort itself is beautiful and well maintained and kept clean. Dining options are not great - food is very bland but that's expected, and although the restaurants requiring reservations are better than the buffet, it can be difficult to get a reservation (2/5 days we were unable to get one at any). WiFi is not free; you have to pay 1 peso for access for 1 hour, and access is only given in certain areas/locations (for e.g. there was no wifi signa [... read more]l or access available in our room). Demographic of guests is majority seniors and older couples.
