Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great updates and renovations

We stayed here 4 years ago and it has recently been renovated and updated in this adults only Ambar section. The rooms are huge and clean and fresh. New glass showers, separate WC and new countertops. Nice new mini bar fridges and coffee makers. The AC works well and our room has nice balcony. If you book ground floor you get a swimup pool. The grounds everywhere are beautifully landscaped and immaculate. Everything gets scrubbed down and cleaned every night. This is really 7 resorts in one site so it’s huge. There’s a new Sports Bar with pool tables. Tons of activities everywhere including a small casino. Our room unbeknownst to us included a butler and he was wonderful. Buildings 60 and 61 are closest to the beach and pool. We loved walking but there are frequent trains that take you anywhere you want to go. Buffet ihas a good variety and you have to go with realistic expectations as this is the Dominican Republic. Service at buffet can be slow and you may need to ask repeatedly for coffee, tea etc. Their house wines could use some improvement. Staff are friendly and weather fabulous. Highly recommend it. Was our second time and we will return. We flew with Air Transat. Nice big new planes. Great value for the money.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Excellent choice for a vacation!

CHIC is a beautiful resort! You definitely feel pampered if you opt for the Diamond Club and the Butler. Thank you Thomas for doing such a great job for us!!! Presidential Suite is a magnificent suite......very spacious, extremely clean and comfortable!! Food is excellent in the buffet and also at the a la carte restaurants! So nice to have the extra options such as the INSOMNIA CAFE and the Diamond Club Lounge...fabulous food and drinks... What a pleasure to have a rest on the beds at the [... read more] Diamond Club Beach Club and the food and drinks there were very special....thank you Diana, Chef, and Bartenders! The staff worked very hard to make us happy....Stephany was always there to make us feel special. She really cares and it shows!!!

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Great resort to visit

Just came from this resort January 10-17/2019 had a great vacation the shows were amazing,the entertainers were very friendly and the stuff as well I recommend this hotel very clean ,food was great, service was great overall I had a amazing vacation.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Resort too expensive, food not great

I paid a lot of money for this vacation and I didn't appreciate staff at the resort aggressively trying to sell paintings, souvenirs, etc. every time I walked by them. I was disappointed that the hotel doesn't pay their staff a decent salary. The staff shouldn't have to rely on tips. The staff at the hotel, including the Nexus agent, were all great and worked very hard. The food at the buffet was always cold. I don't think the warming trays worked.

Sensatori Resort Punta Cana: Great resort.

We really enjoyed ourselves. The resort was very nice & well taken care of. We didn’t do enough reasearch so we didn’t realize it’s also the Nickelodeon Resort - but coming from a family with no small children, the kids there were not a problem whatsoever. But this definitely isn’t a ‘party’ resort, if that’s what you’re looking for. The food selection was great and our concierge was extremely helpful in booking all of our reservations. Our Sunwing rep was super nice & very [... read more] helpful with booking excursions. The spa was great, and so were all the staff. The entertain was awesome the week we were there. Not sure if we were just lucky. The had a massive beach party our last night & it phenomenal. Cleaning staff can be a little slow. Put our cleaning light on at 8am and they didn’t show until almost 6pm. Besides that, We had no complaints leaving the resort.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Good family resort

Really beautiful beaches, slightly crowded. The simulated surfing pool and lazy river were a big family hit. The dining in the buffet was great in selection and preparation however the steakhouse was below a 4 star rating( took an hour for the food and no flavour). Rooms are well maintained and all other services were to standard. Unfortunately the Kids club staff were unfriendly, inactive, unengaging and unwelcoming.( we’ve been to many other resorts and our children have enjoyed the kids  [... read more]club except for this resort) I was surprised in this as this is a resort that boasts its family oriented place of stay. I was also surprised to see the Kids club is not a category on this survey or one that I completed at the resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great Resort!

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Bahia Principe Punta Cana Resort. Food was good, rooms were nice and the pool was great! With it being a huge resort the beach was packed so watch your stuff as our towels got stolen and make sure you go early! Other then that no complaints about the resort would definitely go back and recommend to others!

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great Resort!

Our first visit to this resort was in January 2018. We enjoyed the resort and decided to return for a week in January 2019. We were originally suppose to stay at the Grand Bahia Principe but we were upgraded to the Fantasia which is an amazing resort if you have kids. Because we were upgraded we were able to use some of the facilities at the other resorts. This was nice. The buffet at the Fantasia (they only one we could use) was very noisy, but if you ate outside it was much quieter. The food w [... read more]as excellent and there was lots of choice. Didn't do any other restaurants. The pool was big, but once again lots of kids. We often used the pools at the other resorts. We found you could ask for better alcohol (free) at the Fantasia bars. Although wine and beer were the same wherever you went. The entertainment during the day and at night was great wherever you went. The beach was great to walk on. We could walk an hour each way. Overall an amazing resort. We will certainly return for a third time but not do the upgrade to the Fantasia because of all the kids.

Blau Natura Park Resort: Amazing Grounds

Beautiful grounds with nice sights and sounds of wildlife. Daily upkeep to the grounds so is also very clean. Enjoyed the daily entertainment. People working at the resort are very friendly. Only one negative: too many smokers. They do have designated areas, but they are too close to the non-smoking areas. It would be nice if they could have a non-smoking area by the beach near the resort.

Punta Cana Princess: Great vacation punta cana

Just returned from 14 days of rest and relaxation at the newly renovated Punta Cana Princess booked through our regular trip representative Laura from Trip Central and more than happy with her services. However not excited about Sunwing late to go down and late to return don’t think they are ever on time at checkout they even had us on 2 planes and to different cities wow .The resort was very nice , food was ok and lovely beach with mega seaweed .Rooms are very nice with jacuzzis and walk in s [... read more]howers but i prefer the Riu brand in Mexico and will return next holiday but this is not a reflection of trip central they are great

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Great Little Resort!

This resort was the perfect size for us. We went as a large group for a wedding and while there were a few hiccups, check in at the front desk was relatively seamless for such a large group. The staff are all super friendly regardless of where they worked in the resort. Food was good and there was always some form of entertainment happening. They even had sunrise and sunset yoga on the beach which I thought was nice. The resort didn't seem overcrowded but there were never any chairs at the pool  [... read more]or the beach available. There's a real issue with people dropping their towels at 7am and leaving for the day because the towels are given freely. This made it incredibly frustrating which led to us to not being able to enjoy the beach as much. The only chairs available were full sun so more umbrellas could help with this. Rooms were good (we had the luxury room) however be forewarned that if you're shy, these rooms aren't for you - there is no bathroom door, just a frosted glass door to the toilet that didn't even reach the ceiling and the shower has a window right into the room which, if using the washroom at night will shine right into your hubby's face lol. It also directly faces the balcony so we had our drapes shut most of the time. All in all it was a great experience! Be sure to try the Italian restaurant - it was so good!!!!

Sensatori Resort Punta Cana: Sensatori

The resort is beautiful and the facilities are clean with friendly staff. However, the specialty restaurants are do not have authentic meals and that needs allot of improvement. The sea in that area is very rough and not enjoyable at all.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Growing resort, still very good

This was our third trip to the Gran Bahia Principe complex in Punta Cana over the last 8-10 years. On our first trip the resort was essentially two hotels in one, and it has since grown to seven hotels. Most recently we stayed at GBP Esmeralda in 2017 and GBP Aquamarine in 2019. For our January 2019 trip, we booked Royal Golden club in the GBP Punta Cana, in part due to some of the promised amenities (direct transfer from airport, own check in, bottle of rum, towels in room). On arrival we were  [... read more]transported directly to the complex but the Royal Golden was the third stop. We were told that we were being offered an upgrade to Aquamarine, a "newer hotel". We accepted, not seeing we had much option. The following day we inquired with the Transat rep, who told us that this was a hotel decision, not the tour operator, and who introduced us to one of the managers. This manager spoke with us at length and explained that the hotel had undergone many changes and that Tripcentral/Transat's descriptions of what amenities were provided were out of date. He was frank in that he said his guess was that Royal Golden was oversold, and he explained how Aquamarine was indeed superior, in his opinion. He facilitated additional a la carte restaurant reservations for us and explained further the Aquamarine advantages. We felt our concerns had been better addressed. Regarding our actual experience at Aquamarine, to be fair the hotel is new, clean, well maintained, and well organized. It is at least a 10 minute walk to the beach. Our room was ground floor poolside, since we no longer enjoy climbing stairs. The main pool is very lively - don't expect quiet, despite the Adults Only status, but after all, that is the job of the animation staff and they do it well. The beach, compared to our early visit in 2010 or so, is highly subdivided. The aquamarine section is no more than 30 meters across, and is quite crowded. The actual Bavaro beach, on which anyone can walk for kilometers, remains unrivalled. We found the staff on the grounds and in the restaurants and lobbies to be uniformly friendly. Don't expect everyone to speak English superbly - that's unreasonable. We found the food to be very good in the buffet and in the a la carte restaurants, especially the Rodizio (Brazilian). When it came time to leave, we were instructed to get a bellhop to drive us to the GBP Punta Cana lobby, since that was where we were dropped off. We did so, only to encounter other transferred guests on the bus who had been picked up at Aquamarine. So, on balance, we had a very good holiday, a notch down from the excellent rating we would have given had we received what we thought we had purchased.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great Resort

The Ambar has something for everyone. The recent renovations have improved on what was already a great vacation spot. The new Sports Bar and Gym are Excellent facilities. The staff are very helpful and friendly. There are a variety of food options to satisfy any taste. The newly renovated rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The pool area is terrific and you are very close to the beach. Looking forward to my next vacation at the Ambar.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Very good resort. I would return to it.

This resort is very lovely. I found the grounds very well maintained and clean. The beach is beautiful and yes there was seaweed every day but that is out of their control. It is at every resort, and they did their best to clean it up. The rooms are big and very comfortable. The shower is great. I have no complaints about the door not shutting. I checked it every time. The pizzas from the Italian restaurant that they make at the little take out during the day are delicious and the same goes for  [... read more]the little chip wagon they have down by the beach. The only complaint I could make about the beach is that they should remove the first row of huts because it makes for people walking the beach to be right where you are and no room for sunbathers because when the waves (high tide)come in the loungers are getting wet so everyone is right up against the huts. Also the people trying to sell stuff come right threw the entire area not like other resorts that I have been to along Bavaro Beach. I agree with other people about no being able to make reservations at the restaurants make for long line ups and sometimes not even getting in and going back to the buffet which the food was very good. I would not hesitate to go back to this resort and will.

Blau Natura Park Resort: Good hotel

Requires additional washrooms by pool .Bar’s near pool should be open all day and night. Washrooms should be maintained on an hourly bases. Making people check in without providing the correct room is a problem. Additional staff should be put on front desk during checking times.

Occidental Caribe: Awesome Resort

A beautiful resort. Grounds well kept. Staff all friendly and helpful. Restaurants are very good. Everything in walking distance. Great clean pools and beach. Lots of lounge chairs . Well kept rooms. Our absolute favorite resort. Would recommend this resort for all ages. Great for young families as it has kids pools and clubs. Awesome place.❤

TRS Cap Cana Hotel: Good but needs to be better organized

Great location close to the airport, grounds are well kept and even though the small beach is not useable the pools are large and clean. Swim up room was nice but in need of a refresh. Food was generally good however wait times were very long, on one occasion we were asked to leave the Helios restaurant after an hour and a half and hadn't even received our diners, meal orders where consisently incorrect or not delivered at all. After 5 days it became a joke among guests as to what you would rece [... read more]ive when ordering.We ate at the Japanese restaurant one night and the food was very good, three days later we returned and ordered the same meal and it was uneatable. Could be a great resort as the staff work very hard but communication is sadly lacking.Would we return...no

Riu Bambu: Nice resort.

Good resort, nice gardens, great entertainment team, good service. Good food and nice restaurants. Resort on a larger scale, lots of people. Cheaper alcohol. Beds a bit hard. Rooms have a bit of musty smell, but ok when air out by opening the balcony door.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: reasonable resort - good for the value

Hotel room was lovely & clean. The alarm clock was broken, had to reset anytime we wanted to see the time. Otherwise, good location, good beach. Food was nice in all the restaurants, wide variety. However, often had problems at the main buffet, where the tables were not being set with enough cutlery, water glasses, napkins etc. Had to remind staff to bring supplies several times.
