Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Rocky beach
Resort was nice. Grounds were neat and creative. Standard rooms were ok. Showers were very small and dark, but always had hot water. Bed was comfortable, pillows were lumpy. We stayed on the 3rd floor. Railing was solid cement so ya couldn't see a thing when sitting on the balcony. Would stay on 2nd floor next time. Food was very good. Staff was friendly. Sand on beach was beautiful, but lots of rocks and seaweed in the water. Made for great snorkeling tho. Lots of beach chairs, stall always fou [... read more]
Riu Republica: Amazing resort
One of the best resorts I have been to so amazing something to do at each place food was great only complaint was there was a couple rude front staff that were very rude when my friend accidentally left key in room. And your key card would deactivate alot..will be back to this amazing resort
Caribe Deluxe Princess: Fun filled resort
I thought this resort was amazingly beautiful, fun and eventful. It met all are needs. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone who likes to be close to the beach. The staff was welcoming and helpful.
Paradise Playa Dorada: Fun Time with Friends
The hotel although being only a 3 star was very clea, the staff very friendly and gave us terrific service. We had 3 days and nights of consistent which I know is unusual weather in the Dominican. I felt maybe they could have had some more activities that they could have standing by in case of this unusual circumstances. For instance a movie in the pool bar, games such as charades, a card tournament, some sort of make and take souvenir etc. Extra snacks could have been available as well. It [... read more]
Secrets Cap Cana: Beautiful Resort
This place is amazing. The bathrooms were always clean as well as all the areas. The staff were very friendly and always asking what they can do for you. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The food was amazing and lots to chose from. We definitely will be returning.
Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Be Live Adults Only, Punta Cana
Certainly wasn’t a 41/2 or 5 star. More like a 3 or 3 1/2. No attention to detail or maintenance. Things around the resort were falling apart. SeaWater had an oily feel due to Marina next to it. There only save in grace was the buffet with good food and attentive staff. Rooms were clean but not spotless. Had to keep asking for towels, facecloths, change of linens, etc Not the friendly place we were use to after 15 other visits to this region.
Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: great resort
Food was excellent, staff wonderful and many activities. Everything on the resort was in walking distance. One complaint, 3 couples in our party. All 3 rooms came with 2 twin beds. Voiced our concerns to the front desk to have 1 queen or king bed and never heard a word after.
The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Delightful holiday viewing humpback whales
Visiting this resort for the second time in three years, we found it better on this occasion. Better food, drinks, warm ambiance, and excellent service with most all requests met. The main beach area is improved. Visiting to do the Whale Samana tour with Kim was outstanding! Whale viewing season mid-January until late March. We may return and stay for two weeks rather than 10 days. Recommended.
Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Love the place
Everything was perfect kids loved it would definitely go back .........................................................................................................................................
Ocean El Faro: Great resort
The rooms, grounds, pools and beach were fantastic, large, clean. The food needs some help. The food at the buffet was generally cold all the time while the food portions at the restaurants were too small. All staff were great however the cleaning staff need some help with their English (I am sure it will all come in time). Loved the fact that everything was within walking distance and you didn't get lost everytime you wanted to go somewhere
VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great Resort
Great resort, great food. We upgraded room to Junior Suite, well worth it. Our rooms overlooked the Tranquility Pool, rooms located in Beata building. Staff very friendly. Our only issue was trying to book Ala Carte Restaurants. We could only reservations for Fri and Sat nights at 8:30. We couldn't book reservation for The Octopus until Thurs, for weekend sitting. It would have been nice if all our reservations could have been all at the same time. All Ala Cartes were very good. Would go b [... read more]
Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Great food + Beautiful Property
Great place to visit. Great design throughout. The rooms are a little outdated though, but still tasteful. Great double showers. Comfortable bed. Beautiful landscaping on this immense property. Fun pools by the ocean. Lots of variety available with the sister resort right next to it. Beach is nice but they divide the swimming area with a floating edge that murks the water. Well worth walking to the right a bit for the most gorgeous turquoise waters. Best restaurants: Italian, Meditarrenean, Span [... read more]
Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Beautiful Resort but DC not worth it
We booked a Deluxe Junior Suite with Ocean View Diamond Club, but we did not get placed in the Diamond Club building nor did we have an Ocean view. We didn't find the Diamond Club was worth it for just the extra pool, buffet and butler service that was true butler service. We waited almost two hours to get our meals at some of the a la cartes. The resort itself was beautiful and rooms were very nice.
Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Lovely resort
Beautiful resort, rooms newly renovated. Even though it was a larger resort everything was never to far away. Food was good, for most part staff were friendly. Lazy river was almost to big and more for kids as you get splashed a lot, but that’s probably the who it was made for. Beach was also very nice. I would go back.
Paradise Playa Dorada: Awesome and incredible stay
Usually when I book a 3.5 to 4 star all inclusive I expect it to have a few things that could be improved on. I was pleasantly surprised. I can only say great things about the rooms made available to us. Updating could be made to the bathrooms but everything was working efficiently. Lots of hot water, always supplied with towels, maid was efficient and lovely. The grounds are immaculate. The food was quick and delicious and we had a variety at all meals. Staff, security, management [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Amazing Resort!
Stayed at the Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda for 9 days from February 24th to March 4. Resort is definitely a 5*. Rooms are beautiful and very clean. Food was great. Lots of food choices. Although there were lots of restaurants to choose from, we decided to dine in the Buffet restaurants. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The staff are excellent and very friendly. We would definitely return to this resort.
Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort: Beautiful Resort
Our stay at the Lopesan Costa Bávaro was fantastic, we had a wonderful vacation. The grounds were beautiful, the smell in the lobby was not pleasant, but they are trying and you get use to it. The Only negative is the entertainment..it really needs improvement, it was very boring and the same thing every night. They also need more chairs for guests to sit on at the beach and pools. We would go back to this resort in the future
Riu Republica: Great Resort
The resort was clean, staff was very friendly. The grounds and rooms very clean. The beach and pools were great. Would definitely recommend this resort to family and friends. We would go back to this resort again
Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Nice resort.
We enjoyed this resort. It was on the small side which we like. One pool was fun and the other quiet which was good if you just want to relax. Rooms were clean food was good except no notice of what a-la-carts were open on what night. The buffet was good. The quality of food was good. Staff were very please and helpful. Grounds were well kept. We will probably return for another relaxing and enjoyable vacation! The only thing I wasn't fond of was they had some sort of an air freshener constantly [... read more]
Sunscape Puerto Plata: Never Again
It is a cheaply run, understaffed resort that requires a lot of attention. It was so bad that we asked the Sunwing Rep to check for availability at the neighbouring resort The Gran Ventana. I think that Sunscapes was over capacity while we were there as the service in dining and bars were horrible. Repeatedly, there were not enough dishes to serve the guests. We always had to wait for something: plates, glasses, cutlery, napkins and/or beach towels. We had to wave to the coffee and water wai [... read more]
