Vamar Vallarta: Nice resort

Superior balcony room was very nice. Everything was clean and I could have had housekeeping every other day if I’d wanted. Downside was main buffet restaurant- food was never hot even if I was first person to arrive. Always a varied selection. There are 2 other restaurants but they had to be booked early in the morning- never was lucky to get a table, so not sure what food was like there. The beach cafe has nice pizzas made to order. Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Riu in March 2022

This is a lovely hotel with excellent service. The staff are friendly and wore masks at all times. Sanitizer was available every time you went to buffet. Check in was easy but we did find it difficult to find our rooms. When we saw a Riu employee, he was kind enough to take us right to our room. The room itself was very musty smelling, especially the drawers. However, the following day after the maids were in, it no longer smelled musty - had a very fresh smell like the main lobby. Ou [... read more]r only disappointment was the beach - so much seaweed. It was very, very windy with strong waves so we were unable to go in the water as we normally would. This of course is not the fault of the hotel. The drink staff on the beach were really good.

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: Never ever ever again

I would never stay here again, nor suggest to a friend. The food was inedible, the music was loud and obnoxious, there was never enough loungers or spaces for everyone (people would get up at 7am to put a towel on a chair to save for the whole day), the drinks where watered down or always tasted like aspartame, and the room….. oh my goodness the room. Worst room I have ever seen. Everything was broken and dirty. Rooms never clean properly, king bed with a fitted sheet too small (and gross matt [... read more]ress under) if you had the hot water on then a loud noise and shaking occurred, had a coffee maker for the room but wasn’t able to get coffee for it (just remove this then) patio furniture was so dirty it stained a dress when I sat down on it. Also so far from town you were just trapped on this crappy resort. Only good thing was the people working. They were lovely and helpful. Not their fault their employer is running such a dump.

Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: Amazing resort

We stayed on the Hacienda side of the resort which is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are large with very comfortable beds. Modern well appointed bathrooms. We ate in each of the alacarte restaurants and they were excellent. The Mexican night on the beach was outstanding. The buffets were extensive. Something for everyone one. The servers and bartenders were very outgoing and efficient. It was a pleasure to relax at this resort!

Grand Sunset Princess: Everything I had hoped for

This resort surpassed my expectations. It appears to be running without any obvious covid restrictions. Masks are worn at the buffet and when entering the restaurants. Lots of cleaning continuously happening. I had a few special requests due to mobility and I was accommodated. I did speak with others who didn't have a great experience with accommodations. Food was always very good. Majority of the staff were extremely courteous and helpful. I gave a lot of well deserved tips. Beach was c [... read more]rowded however there were always chairs available. My only complaint was bartender service at the lobby bar and one of the pool bars. These 2 bartenders who appeared to be experienced, older gentlemen who may have been in charge were giving obvious preferential treatment to the younger crowd. The pool bar was the worst of the 2. Young pretty girls were the focus. 8 people were served a head of us and for obvious reasons. And after the 8th person he went back to the first group he served and continued to chat and joke with them totally ignoring us. Finally another bartender joined him and he served us. This treatment did cause some discussion amongst guests waiting to be served and ones who finally got drinks. We just did our best to ignore this as we weren't going to let a couple bartenders ruin a perfect trip.

Excellence Riviera Cancun: Amazing resort

This resort is absolutely beautiful. The staff is very friendly. The service is the best. The food at every restaurant was amazing. We had a swim up room and the bar service was great around the lazy pool. This was our second time at the ERC and it will not be our last!

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Mediocre

Grounds and beach are beautiful. Food is mediocre and very repetitive. Drinks are watered down. Service is terrible. Waiters are very focused on clearing tables so much that they will swipe plates while youre still eating in between fork movements. Room was dirty on arrival and we never got our included mini fridge restocked no matter how much we asked. Recommend booking elsewhere if you prefer a clean room and like food.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Great Vacation Destination

The hotel grounds were beautiful and breath taking. This was my first time leaving Canada so I did not know what to expect. From the moment I entered the lobby I was taking care of, check in was quick in easy, there were two people ahead of me and I was checked in and to my room in 20 minutes. The buffet was huge with lots of variety even for my son who is a picky eater, he always found something he liked and even adventured out and tried new foods. We went to four restaurants which were all ver [... read more]y good as well, getting reservations was easy, however we don’t mind eating later. If you had young kids getting an early reservation may be difficult. Our room was cleaned and fridge restocked everyday. We did go during spring break so there were big crowds but that was to be expected. We were only woke up once at 2am by loud rowdy teens/young adults and security had come and felt with it in a timely manner. I never worried about covid once on my trip, the staff are all wearing masks and sanitizer stations are at most building entrances and buffets. Masks are required when serving yourself at the buffet and walking to dining tables, I personally think this is pointless to mask up to then go sit beside another family and eat without masks, however it was easy to follow the rules and didn’t bother me. Covid testing was quick and easy we went first thing in the morning of departure (it gets busy so my advice is to go early) and had our results in a couple hours, I did have to go back to the covid testing place and request them to send my results as our shuttle was about to arrive and they hadn’t come through my email yet, the lady hit a button and I had my results. It was annoying to have to walk back to do this but again not a huge issue, and I was understanding as they were busy that day. Overall we had a wonderful experience and enjoyed our vacation.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Still Beautiful

This is a stunning resort. We have been here 4 times. The grounds are lush and beautiful. Pools are huge and very clean. Beach is beautiful and you can walk for ages. Dining is varied and for the most part tasty. The coffee shop is a nice. Staff are very welcoming.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Still one of the best resorts

Grounds are simply amazing. All the people that work on this resort are fantastic. Stayed in the golden rooms, great view of the golden pool. No need to go any where as you can all you need around the pool.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: The years have not been kind

Unfortunately we would recommend for others to NOT stay at this resort. Right as we arrived we noticed it was incredibly outdated and broken down. The front entrance staff were all horribly rude and unhelpful. They waste an hour of your arrival pitching their pricey VIP program that no one participated in, though they still reserved over half the beach for them, leaving only 4 sun shelters for the other 800 people to fight over. The room was gross, they checked us in to an unclean room with a bu [... read more]nch of molded food on the desk. They refused to move us and simply just removed the food an hour later. You could not swim at the beach as it is located in this seaweed reef. The one small pool water was literally green, and it was a 10 minute walk to and from the other one. The food was flavourless and always the exact same, with minimal healthy eating options. The room was broken in so many places, racks falling off the wall, mirrors rusted, door didn’t even close. Overall, not a great place, and our standards are not high by any means. The bar staff and entertainment staff were the highlight.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Great vacation

Stayed at the platinum yucatan resort from March 21-28th/22. We(group of 6) had a great time. The resort is a nice size, rooms very large, beds comfy, huge shower with rain heads. Floor in shower can be very slippery so be careful. Food was fantastic. We ate at buffet and tried all the al a cartes, couldn't complain about anything there. There was never a line up anywhere. You needed to sanitize your hands and feet as well as wear your mask till seated or getting food. People complained about ca [... read more]ts, we seen 4 and they were very clean. A couple of things to improve on are sun loungers, alot of the palapas around had no chairs at all, not sure why. Shade was not easy to find as their palapas are made of small wood logs on top. We are not beach people but the seaweed was crazy on the beach. The grand riviera and sunset definitely has a better beach but we chose to stay at the adult only side. One thing we noticed was no one came to tidy up chairs or clean up beer cans etc. We did have poolside service for the bar which was fantastic. We had a couple of issues at resort ie: glass fell out of railing on patio, that took a couple of days to fix and we didn't get our room we requested but we did get moved the first day to be with our friends and family. These issues were fixed thru talking with the concierge fairly promptly. No issues getting our covid tests just getting results as computer was down that day of course. The gentleman at the clinic was very kind as I was persistent at getting a paper copy of our results. We kept to ourselves mainly to keep us safe to get home. They seated everyone apart at restaurant as much as possible. All and all very pleased with this resort and would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

Grand Sunset Princess: Grand Sunset Princess Trip review

The Grand Sunset Princess was everything they promised and more. The staff was adequate, helpful and ready. Before reserving this trip I had read reviews about staff and grounds not up to standards. This was not the case. When I checked into my room I noticed a burnt out light bulb over the bathroom vanity. Within a day it was replaced. The buffet was always full of a variety of fresh, awesome foods that could please anyone. If I could give a recommendation to the hotel management it would be about the bartenders and their attentions to younger and more endowed patrons. As a more mature customer (not in a bikini) I found I was overlooked by the bartenders, even with a hefty tip. When I mentioned this to someone, the very next day the bartenders were asking "who is next?" That is how efficient this hotel is to correct a wrong doing. Thank You for a great relaxing time in Mexico. I will be back.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Wonderful hotel with a few Issues

Overall the Barcelo Maya Colonial is located in a beautiful spot with wonderful beaches and fantastic pools! The food was great and the staff were all fabulous. However, there were a number of disappointments. We booked a premium ocean view suite and when we checked in we were sent to a side office and the check-in turned into a bit of a nightmare. It was busy and there was one person working and instead of a simple check-in, it turned into a 2 hour wait. We did receive our keys eventually. [... read more] Given we had a premium suite we kind of expected....an ocean view but the view we had was of the kids water park. Our room was on the ground level right outside the waterpark which is a tad noisy. When we asked for the ocean view suite we paid for we were told there was nothing available. Great, so the room was nice but the TV didn't work and took a while to address and then the safe wouldn't open after we had locked all our documents and cash in it. Both issues were eventually resolved. We also soon discovered that guests of the hotel would place towels on the lounge chairs around the pool or beach area to reserve their chairs. When we went to sit by the pool there were no available chairs, just a bunch of empty chairs with towels on them. We had to get up each day at 5 AM to find an empty chair and put a towel on them to "reserve them" for our use. In many cases the reserved chairs were never used at all. Lastly, we had an early flight and tried to arrange for breakfast from room service and we were told that, although the menu states breakfast starts at 6:30 AM, breakfast was not available at 6:30 AM but I could order a club sandwich, which has toast and bacon on it. I should also mention the hotels Covid practices were very good. All the staff wore masks as did most of the guests when in the dining areas. I felt quite safe from a Covid perspective. Anyway, it was a wonderful location but I won't be going back

Dreams Riviera Cancun: Good vacation

Spa and coco cafe were our highlights. The grounds were so beautiful and well kept. Would give them a perfect score but they didn’t want to clean our room or give us turn down service. Would still recommend it, we just got unlucky with the housekeeping assigned to us

Hard Rock Hotel Cancun: Family vacation

We were 6 of us and we had the family room deluxe , food was excellent entertainment was amazing and the overall holiday was awesome We made memories we will keep forever We did not do any of the water activities but would definitely want to try next time

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Honest review

Arrival- confusing. No shuttle for me. Had to wait over an hour to get on a shuttle. Driver was fantastic though (Augustin) and stopped at a convenience store for me. Arrived and promptly greeted by Diego and Flavio. Beautiful gentlemen. Ushered to lobby and checked in. I am travelling alone and went to my upgraded room to find, not a king bed, as requested, but 2 double. (Travelled last November with my brother and we only were offered a king. Makes no sense. The view from my room was also  [... read more]terrible as it looked straight at one large, view blocking palm tree. I asked for a pool or beach view. No such luck and no budge from anyone to move me. So, made the best of it. The bed was super comfy and i slept very, very well. Pillows were excellent and choices of firmness were available. The food…OMG delicious. All of it. Every bite. I ate at the Yucatán buffet for breakfast and lunch. Supper , I went to Bruschetta for the best Italian. Seafood risotto, chicken parmigiana, and the bolognese sauce tastes like it’s been simmering in MAMA’s house all day. So full of flavour. The Rodeo Grill was my only other go to as I am not an Asian food fan. It was the ribs and chicken that did it for me at the Rodeo Grill. Mmmmmm…. Coffee and more coffee. I ordered every morning, room service a pot of coffee and a few sweet rolls. Yummy. Down side. Only coffee mate, no real cream. I solved that by bringing some from the buffet and putting in the fridge for the next day. Not the end of the world. But really, no cream? The pools clean, perfect temperature. Great atmosphere. Night life. Cruise ship quality. The troupes do the hotel circuit and keep the crowd entertained. The beach- Horrible - Unfortunately, the seasonal and disgusting seaweed was everywhere and the team did not get in top of it. The odour was sickening at times. If you can get past the smell, and make it to the nicer area, you won’t find a lounge chair. Understand though, it was spring break. I did manage eventually to get a chair but it was quite a distance to the ocean. Then, you get all settled and the big tractor to pick up the seaweed decides to start hauling off the mess. Advice ***do this awful job at 5am until 7 am. I’ve seen it done at other resorts. So, this is possible. Will I return? I still Love this Resort. I will highly recommend. I will however check the seaweed situation on the Mexico tourism site before booking again.

Riu Flamingos: Awesome place

I loved the food so much i was disappointed with the beach the water wasn't like cancun it was dark but beautiful the pool i think was so small they really inforce no smoking and mask weren't mandatory

We absolutely loved everything about this hotel! Most of all the beautiful staff. The service was wonderful, breakfast delicious, rooms clean and spacious and the location was perfect. What more could we ask for?
