Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Wonderfull people, beautiful resort..Incredible!.

The hotel was very clean, the people who work there are amazing and so friendly...they treated us with respect and kindness. The bartenders who served us amazing cappuccinos early in the morning were the best.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Wow! Beautiful !

Everything from check in to check out was great . Beach was great only downfall was a lot of rocks close to the shore so watch your feet. Food was good only thing since it was down time we were unsure where we were going to eat buffet was closed at dinner some nights. Service and rooms were some of the best I have had Would for sure go back again

Perfect place to take someone who has doubts about Cuba! The hotel is beautiful , the rooms are clean and stylish! The beach is incredible, food is 9/10 and I'm a very picky eater! Overall great place

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Don't go

Got really sick, food discusting could not eat , drinks were water down overall I would never recommend this resort save your money it's not a 4.5 star more like a 2 star , rooms and bed were aweful did not have hot water

It was a relaxing place to have a vacation. The staff were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was inviting for everyone. You will need to have insect repellent. Even though it was a bit humid, I can't wait to go back next year.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Relaxing Week at the Pestana

We just returned from our vacation October 2nd to 9th. We always travel during off-season to save money and enjoy the Caribbean. The first two days our beach was washed out due to Hurricane Joaquin. By day 3 the water had receded and they racked the beach and all was well. We had amazing weather the whole week. The rooms are plain but are clean and have everything you need. I want to give a big shout out to the following staff, Pinky at the towel hut, Paul from the entertainment crew and the lovely bar maid at the main bar. You made us feel welcome and appreciated. Downside of our vacation - FOOD!! Due to it being off season there was not a lot of variety and a lot of items were recycled from meal to meal. We did go to the Portuguese and Italian a la carte and they were both good. We ran into two different couples who had been there in December (high-season) and said the food was great. Locals!! We had quite a few locals at the resort the week we were there. They were treated much better than us and were very pushy in the restaurants. They also did not watch their children with one little boy standing at the side of the pool and peeing in it. Overall I would say this is good value for the price point we paid and did enjoy our week at the Pestana

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Nice Surprise

We stayed at Memories Flamenco from Sept 09 to Oct 06. Flight from Montreal was good, cabin crew as always was excellent, we landed at 10:30am. Once we went through customs and got our luggage we went to get on the bus but there was some confusion for awhile but it was finally cleared up and we got on our diamond club bus. Got our wrist bands and other stuff for the hotel. We left before everyone else and got to the hotel 1st. There she gave us a quick rundown of the hotel and told some of us our rooms were ready and some like us they were not. No big deal cause if you have traveled you know you always keep a change of clothes in your carry on. We changed and hit the beach, my goodness it was beautiful, yes there was coral but sea shoes fixed that. Unfortunately we were there during hurricane Joaquin, even though we only got the very tail end of it, the beach was closed down for 3 days and it was incredible windy. They lost at least 10 plapa’s and a gazebo at the end of the boardwalk which were washed away. On the non diamond club side before the storm they had most of the sand but after the hurricane this switched. It was sad to see, as the beach was so beautiful there and after the storm it was right down to the coral. But I have to admit that management was very quick to get work crews down to the beach to clean up, one guest even asked if he could help and they paid him 5 pesos to help, too funny Because of the beach being closed everyone went to the pool as you can imagine, unfortunately the towel game was very alive and well and incredibly annoying. Due to the saving of the seats one day two guys almost got into a fight about saving seats, security and the hotel manager had to be involved (don’t envy their jobs) What we didn’t understand is why more chairs from the beach were not brought up to add more seating. Also shade by the pool is limited so as you can imagine how you had to get up early for a shaded spot. Buffet was a wonderful surprise and we thought it was very good, the fish grill stations the best. No matter what you could always find something. Because we were diamond club we could have an ala cart breakfast and lunch at the Florence (I think it was called that) breakfast was always good (maybe a bit slow, but we are on vacation). We went once for lunch and found the buffet was better, besides one a la cart for diamond club we only did the buffet as we really enjoyed it. Our maid Saiey (I think the spelling is right) was awesome, our room was always super clean and we could not wait to come back at the end of the day to see what towel art she had for us, in most case there was three. Love the little man in the sink with my reading glasses on, this was killer. The ac was excellent and we actually needed extra bankers at night which made sleeping wonderful. Diamond club, at first we were not sure if it was worth it but later we did enjoy the little perks and yes it was worth it. Our mini bar was stocked very day and we got a new bottle of water each day, but here is a tip for you, if you need water go to the snack bar and they have two machines that keep the water cold that is self serve and you don’t have to wait for anyone just get your water yourself, we loved this. There were a few annoyance here and there, but as I've said before a vacation is what you make of it, easy to complain and be miserable but with the proper attitude it is even more easy to roll with it and have a great vacation. Not sure about you but we save up for quite a while to go on vacation and we refuse to let anything ruin it. All in all Memories Flamenco was very good for the money we spent on it, and for the price I would recommend it to anyone.

My friend and I went to Memories Flamenco Sept. 23-30th. We had a great time. The staff were wonderful and the food was not bad. The staff were always ready to help. I will be going back in the New Year.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Needs updating

The resorts was nice. Grounds were beautiful,and the staff was very friendly. The issues I had were the rooms, great location but that's it. Water was never very hot so it was warm showers. The air conditioning was very poor. I asked for someone to look at it including the sunwing rep and nothing changed. I told the resort staff and the sunwing rep my husband had lung issues and this needed to be fixed but still nothing!!! The food was good, many choices and you always had the option of selectin [... read more]g freshly prepared. I must mention omelet station was fantastic! Enjoyed omelet every morning. I found the pool nice but lacked in cleaning. I believe the cause is resort guest. They leave their garbage around the pool and it ends up in the pool!! I understand the challenges in Cuba so I don't have high expectations. I go for the weather and beach, however I do expect air conditioning which was not delivered. After speaking with many guest I found out many many rooms had the same issues, no hot water, almost no air conditioning. Unfortunately I will not return to this resort. I'd like to mention we were a group of six and no one will be returning. We travel Cuba at least three times a year and this resort is off our list. Please fix your problems ,, rooms are in need of major repairs!!!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing experience!

Love! Love! Love! Cannot beat the value and family friendly experience of this resort! Will definately return! The Cuban people are so warm and welcoming. You can visit with peace of mind as their healthcare system is fantastic. The rooms were always spotless. The people were always entertained and constantly engaged by the entertainment staff. Management was constantly walking around in all areas of the resort to make sure that everything was flowing beautifully.

We loved our vacation at the memories flamenco, everything was beyond our expectations from the food to the service from the hotel grounds to the friendliness of the staff!! It was overall an amazing vacation for our whole family! Will definitely be returning! !

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great relaxing holiday

The staff at the resort are wonderful, incredibly friendly. Resort is beautiful. Food was good, a lacarte restaurants were ok, not great. SNORKLING was excellent, very fun - bring water shoes as much of the beach was impacted by the recent hurricane. Entertainment also very good

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Excellent Resort

The hotel was very clean. Everyone was so friendly! Always something to do! Games to play throughout the day some of them with prizes. The food was much better than I expected and the nightly entertainment was excellent. I would highly recommend this resort.

Hotel Mojito: Great value, a solid 3 1/2 star in Cuba

I am a regular traveller to carribean, 4 times to various areas of Cuba. For my traveling companion, this was her first trip away from North America. Upon arriving at a very spacious front lobby, we were served a refreshing cold drink. Check-in was quick and easy and a bell boy took our luggage to our room right away. The room was average sized with 2 double beds, mini bar & tv. It was impecably clean with good quality linen on the beds. Bathroom had tub & shower with only occasional problem wit [... read more]h enough hot water. Maid service was great and we had no issues with the charming young lady that cleaned our room. Pool area was large (also adults ony pool) with lots of shady area and loungers, however we prefer the beach. It is a longer walk than typical as you pass over a lagoon that has cottages on stilts around the perimiter, then continue on boardwalk to the actual beach. The beach has drinks and snacks available, best pina colada's on the resort. Not certain if this relates to time of year, hurricane season, but at high tide the beach disapears under the water. We had a couple of days the beach was closed due to the waves coming ashore from a nearby hurricane so we hung out at the pool. The food was average by Cuban standards, always something to eat including the amazing breads, yummy! There was less choice than on previous vacations but aattribute this to hurricane season and large portion of hotel was vacant. The main lobby bar should be a nice place to spend your evening however the mosquitoes were attrocious, heard from other travellers at different resorts that were al having same problem during rainy season, so take insect repellant, you will need it. There was musicians/singers in the lobby bar and with one amazing trio of Cuban gentlemen with guitars that I wish were there every night. Their music was well played and not at al intrusive if you wanted to talk, some of the others made up for talent with volume and we therefore left the lobby bar. All things considered was a great relaxing get away which was the reason for our trip.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great relaxing Vacation

We spent most of our time relaxing in the water. You can walk in the water from one end of the bay to the other, over one kilometer. If you want to be alone there is enough beach to find solitude. Water is very safe for Children and non strong swimmers.Very little sea life for snorkelers. There was a variety of food, but almost the same every night. Some nights not very good. Our first night, I had not exchanged any money, so gave our main buffet waiter (Magdio) a $1 tip (which i had from a prev [... read more]ious trip). The next night he seated us at a table which had been used and said he would bring more cutlery and wine. After 20min of him serving the tables around us, we got cutlery from the table next to us and we went and got our own wine. We have stayed in Jibakoa, Varadero several times and found the staff more willing to please there.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Fantastic Resort

The resort we stayed in was huge! Our building was in Building 10 and it was in the farthest end of the hotel. However, it worked really well for us since that gave us the time to walk farther every after a heavy meal. The food was abundant! There were .lots of different kinds of food to choose from. The water was crystal clear and warm well! There were security all over the pool and the beach, so even if you walk ln the beach all by yourself, you would feel safe. The cleaning people were always cleaning the facilities. Also, our room was clean and spacious! It had a balcony overlooking the beach and the trees all over the resort!!! The mini fridge was refilled with drinks and beers everyday. The aircon in our room was so cold, it compensated to the temperature outside the room, as it was quite hot in Cuba. Overall, I would recommend Memories Flamenco to all of my friends and relatives! We are planning to come back, this time to take our kids with us! Make sure you bring insect repellents, sunscreen, hats, snorkelling gear. Also, make sure you vist Pillar Beach, 45 mins away from the hotel. Just take the bus that comes in the hotel and pay $5.00 for a return trip! Playa Pillar is a MUST TO SEE when you are in Cayo Coco!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Clean and Good Value Property

The rooms were clean and always saw staff doing up keep on the property. The staff were accommodating and friendly. Great value for a cheap week away. The food is not so great but typical of what you would expect in Cuba. Only bad thing is if you get in early you do not get a pool towel until you check into your room.

Melia Cayo Coco: Our second home!

My husband and I came here for our first wedding anniversary, Sept. 14-28, 2015. It was our second time at the Melia Cayo Coco (last year we were here for our honeymoon) and it felt like we came back home! Everything from the room, food and resort as a whole was perfect! However, like many comments, it was the staff that made it so incredibly special. Everyone who worked there was so friendly and helpful. Michel and his team at the poolside snack bar never missed a beat and service was always great, even bringing it to our loungers by the pool. Its a must to try their Melia Burger and Tropical Pizza! Oh and they do "take out" service too which is a nice treat if you want to have lunch right on the beach! Of course, Yamil at the beach bar is awesome! As well, Danielle Perez kept our room nice and clean, with the occasional towel sculpture on the bed. As for activities, Yandy at the Sports Center was great! We spent a bit of time doing the air rifle competitions with other guests, which was fun! Our excursions (with Air Canada Rouge) were super. We did the extravaganza one where we got to see "real" Cuba for the day! Bonus was the speed boat ride and crocodile reserve! I got to hold a baby crocodile! Also, we did the catamaran which took us to Pilar Beach! To avoid repeating ourselves, this was truly paradise and the moment we landed and felt the cold weather of Canada, we wanted to go back to the beautiful beach and resort! Melia Jardines del Rey: Large Beautiful Resort

2nd time visiting this resort. Met some great people on the plane trip down, which made the trip a lot more rewarding. January it was busy about 850 people..this time in September very quiet only about 150. This effected the quality and food and service. Buffet and food ala carts less options and they allowed the quality to drop. Rooms and housekeeping service top notch. Pool amazing..beach still rocky needs more work. The hotel staff and entertainers really make this resort what it is. Excellent staff , friendly and helpful. Love all the bartenders, dining room staff and the animation group aew wonderful. I will definetley go back...lots of walking very large resort , so if you dont want the 10 min walk to beach or certain bars/resturants...go to a smaller resort. Still under construction half the resort as well.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great beach and water!

I stayed in this resort together with my toddler and my husband during the second week of September for a week. The weather was great. The beach and water were great. We took water shoes for this trip, but we didn't need them, since there was aa entrance pathway which I believe was cleaned up of the corals and when in the water you don't need the shoes. The food was ok. There is a buffet, 24 hour snack bar, and I believe 3 a la carte restaurants. We only went to buffet and snack bar. The bar by the lobby was nice. Entertainment was bad. All and all we had a good time.
