Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: Amazing resort

Everything was great. Amenities, room, staff. We were a group on this vacation. I don't know how the staff remembers everyone's name. Very friendly. The food was fantastic. The bbq on the beach was unbelievable. Quite the spread. My husband and I were very disappointed with the beach, lots of rocks as you're walking into the water. Had to wear my water shoes to get into the water. It was nice and sandy once in. Therefore I am rating the beach/pools a three. The pool was gorgeous. The section for [... read more] ratings should be separate for the beach and pool. I was in the pool only to take advantage of the aqua size session. The pool was excellent.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Amazing & Beautiful Resort

This resort was beautiful. It was so clean and well kept up on the grounds and interior. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was amazing and huge. We spent a lot of time relaxing.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Great time

The kids had a wonderful time at the beach....sun and sand. Food was full of variety....esp breakfast..its fantastic. Rooms I especially like as they had the door between the washrooms…which means..no noise for those sleeping. Only issue I had was the elevator…it was very busy getting up/down, we managed. The coffee bar at the lobby provided the best drinks…and popcorn for kids. Best Ala carte was the Steak house!!! Yummm T-bone!!! Would highly recommend for everyone.

Sandals Dunn's River: Honeymoon at the Jewel Dunn's River Jamaica

Highly recommended. The staff were exceptionally nice and helpful. The whole resort was immaculate. The food was exceptional. There wasn't so much as a chip of paint. Couldn't ask for any better. I give this resort 5 stars.

Catalonia Montego Bay: Convenient, authentic, friendly

Convenient, friendly, authentic" We stayed at the Sunspree Resort the first full week of March, selecting our hotel for convenience and cost. We had a wonderful time. We found the staff to be friendly and courteous and the property to be cleverly laid out - compact, but with everything we wanted - beach, pool, restaurants, bar. Having stayed at larger resorts in the Caribbean we were concerned that it might be too small - but no problems, mon! Couples Sans Souci: Wow

Our awesome romantic vacation began at the Sangster airport the private bar, private car we felt like royalty! Upon arrival we checked into our " cottage" The food was fabulous a real pinacolada not that awful mix you find at other so called 5 star resorts The spa was amazing glass bottom boat ride and the trip to Dunns river falls (included) was great I would recommend this resort and rate it a 10 star!

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Great Resort

We stayed at this resort in April 2014. This resort had a lot of great things about it. The food was good, in particular the buffet restaurants were great. The entertainment was good and the pool is fantastic. Even the beaches were not bad - specifically Sunset Cove. And the rooms were wonderful - with lots of space and the individual villa concept is beatiful. The only downside was the lack of air conditioning in the restaurants in the evning, which made for uncomfortable dinners some evenings. [... read more] Apparently, it was a power load issue with the Grand Palladium being so far from everything. However, this was overall a great resort with lots of reasons not to leave the resort at all.

Riu Negril: Older resort, amazing service

We were recommended this resort from a friend....well the location is awesome, the resort is older, smaller and purple!! Not our taste!! The room was small and well overdue for a renovation, and soon!! Everything worked and was comfortable and clean, but difficult to use hot water around 3-6pm daily. Not good when you're trying to ready yourself for dinner!! Mini bar in room was nice, vodka, rum, gin etc...and mix as well. Dinner reservation making was terrible, you had to go daily and hope they [... read more] had room, but if you did get reservations the food was fantastic and the service was impeccable. The entertainment crew was beyond amazing, they were friendly and funny, a really talented group of people!! The beach is not on the famed seven mile strip, it's in a bay and was very murky for most of the week....creepy, especially when it cleared the amount of stingrays would blow your mind!!! The beach was clean and lots of room....but no shade palapas, just trees in spots, so lots of no see ums....which bite, and are itchy!! Kids club we noticed was less than desirable, but the staff made the best of what they had....again it's the staff that make this place, always some kind of event or game or just fun to be had. Now the worst part was the pool...so small and people would eat and smoke and well hang in the pool by the bar all day....you know what that means....especially since there is only one bathroom in the lobby...even the restaurants had no bathrooms, you had to leave you dinner to go to the lobby to use the washroom!!!!! They had two small pools, one with a bar and one mostly for water sports, use the latter, it's much cleaner!! I wouldn't go back to this resort unless it was really cheap!!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great resort!!!

This was our second visit to this resort. Staff are always willing to accommodate most requests, food is awesome, lots of selection!! Jerk centre by the beach has the most delicious chicken and all traditional accompaniments and the chef...well he sings and calls when the chicken is ready!!! Rooms are all spacious and nicely decorated....our jacuzzi didn't work, but we always had hot water and great pressure, fabulous view from our balcony. Bathrooms are everywhere and bars too!!! Wonderful drinks, plenty of activities....careful of the timeshare people, but if you date, than make sure you get your bag of goodies, towels, sunglasses, jerk sauce, rum, cups etc....saves a ton on souvenir shopping!! They have a shopping centre as well, pretty good prices for typical souvenir stuff....you can haggle prices too!! I'd go back for a third time if the price was right....this place hasn't let us down yet....thanks to our agent Nicole at tripcentral for pointing this place out to us our first time around...made it easy to choose this place for a second time!!

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: WONDERFUL VACATION

This is a beautiful resort. Couldn't ask for anything more. The staff, food, activities, cleanliness of resort are top notch. There is everything here that a person could want. Have been to many resorts and this is definitely one of the best. Would highly recommend it.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Resort was fine

I liked the pool areas. The restaurants were average, at best. The Indian food restaurant was far superior. To the other locales. The rooms are tired....several broken items(soap dish in the shower, fridge door of hinge) but clean and generally comfortable.

Couples Tower Isle: Excellent!!!!

Quaint older resort. Has atmosphere. Beach is small but close to the resort. Staff was very friendly. Restaurants and service were great. Chef at Sea side Restaurant prepared special meals for my wife who is gluten intolerante. Gym and equipment were new. Free WiFi. Thank you.

Zoetry Montego Bay: Best Beach Holiday Ever

My daughter and I had a week in Paradise this past March at the beautiful Coyaba Beach Resort. My family of 4 have enjoyed many beach holidays but this was my favourite resort by far. Coyaba was a serene and gorgeous setting for a much needed relaxing and luxurious retreat from the worst winter I can recall in Toronto. We loved Coyaba as soon as we stepped through the door. The beach and surrounding grounds were beautifully landscaped and provided many lovely private vistas for us to enjoy. The [... read more] beauty of this intimate setting was complimented by the wonderful wonderful staff. Each and every staff member was so friendly and each went out of his/her way to welcome us and make each and every moment purely delightful. The food was exceptional and many healthy choices were provided. The rooms were clean and well appointed and so close to the beach. We just cannot put into words how amazing this place is, and how it surpassed our greatest expectations. We had the time of our lives and want to come back this year. One day, when AA hockey is over, we will bring my husband and son back with us. Until then, my daughter and I will continue to make this wonderful haven our destination for our mother-daughter get away. Thank you, Coyaba for making our dreams come true!

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Amazing Resort

Amazing Resort..From the moment we arrived they made sure you felt welcomed an all your needs were meet!!! The staff, room ,Food, an grounds..We're definitely 5 star!! We will be returning to Royalton White Sands.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: excellent resort

beautiful resort with wonderful staff always smiling and eager to help you out if needed. the grounds and buildings are clean ,there is lots of walking,which is fine by me and my wife. we mainly dined in the buffets which had a wide assortment of food to suit everyones taste.

The Oasis at Sunset: Not a five Starr

Not a five Starr resort. Very slow service at the main restaurant. We heard many complaints at the beach about this issue. Although the food was good no one wants to wait 2 hours for food. We ended up eating at the Buffett and the a la carte restaurants on the sunset side. The private beach was so rocky that we used the main beach for swimming. Highly recommend the Montego Bay yacht club for dinners. Located just down the road from the resort and guests from oasis/sunset pay 35.00 any night for two lobster dinners. Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Fabulous First Trip to Jamaica

My husband and I stayed at The Jewel Runaway Bay April 1 - 15 and are pleased to see all the positive reviews (except for ‘Negative LuAnn’ which we can’t agree with at all). This perfect-sized resort is indeed a GEM and reflects the spirit and culture of the Jamaican people. The resort staff made every effort to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. We had no issues with our room...it was bright, clean, recently refurbished, and the tv and a/c worked perfectly. Our room was always well stocked, including plenty of bottled water, juice, soda, and we never had to ask for anything. The lobby, unpretentious and understated, was a comfortable place to be. We particularly enjoyed the practical layout of the resort...three large pools situated parallel to the beach ensured we always had an ocean view. Very clean beach and sandy ocean floor. Everything within the resort is easily accessible within a short walk. The grounds are lovely and well maintained daily. Very few guests we spoke to who had issues with older non-yet-renovated rooms were relocated to their satisfaction....all one has to do is ask. The resort staff was constantly busy maintaining the grounds (gardeners, pool cleaners, painters, plumbers, groundskeepers). The food was excellent in all the restaurants with authentic Jamaican dishes and fresh locally grown produce. Our greatest enjoyment was dining outdoors (under cover) . Only the Italian Restaurant is indoors near the lobby. After a long brutal Canadian winter, we were ecstatic to be able to enjoy all of our meals outdoors. We only required reservations at the Jade Samurai ... and dined 3 times experiencing 3 different Teppanyaki Chefs. There is also a Sushi Bar within Jade Samurai which does not require reservations. Made-to-order pizza at the Starlight Grill was divine. We loved the spacious Coral Café and never felt like it was ‘buffet’ food. Breakfasts were amazing, at dinner time the ‘theme’ menu varied every night so it’s a good idea to check the posted menu late afternoon or you may miss out on something extraordinary, i.e. the shrimp/steak, the awesome Beef Wellington, or steak fajitas. Every Monday night the feast moves from the Coral Café to the beach with several huge barbeques, manned by the excellent Jamaican chefs preparing their Jamaican specialties at sunset. Every Thursday night, following the weekly Manager’s cocktail garden party, outdoor dining at its finest "Dining Under The Starts" takes place around the middle/largest pool...a full sit-down, 6-course plate-served menu. Afterwards the stage opens out to the pool and live entertainment Cabaret singer is featured. The 3 pools and the beach were well-supervised with lifeguards. We preferred the quieter pool/hot tub furthest distance from the bar, and quickly discovered the wonderful Miguel whom we nicknamed our "rumrunner" as he’d come directly to our chairs at the pool or beach...to take our drink orders and refill our drink mugs...Miguel was always smiling and friendly and obviously took pleasure in his role. Plenty of sports and water sports were available for both adults and children, beach and pool volleyball, aquacise, yoga, archery, kids’ mini-club with nannies, tween/teen club, bingo, scavenger hunt, tennis, ping pong, disco, etc. We particularly enjoyed the ‘daily newsletter’ that came to our door every day listing the day’s events, activities, etc. Loved the "dive-in" movie under the stars...a unique experience. Kudos to all the Jewel staff especially the best room maid Khlila, as well as LaToya, Anne Marie and Kevlin and all the attentive dining room staff, Miguel our attentive smiling rumrunner, Chef Frederick at the all-night Aquamarina Grill, the entertainment "Gems" Ash, Sunshine, Sparkle, Purple, Whoopie, Energy, and oh so many more who always took the time to smile, say hello, chat and see to any requests. We particularly enjoyed the beyond-energetic Silverbirds Steel Band entertainment after dinner on Sundays at the Coral Café. My husband played golf almost daily on the hotel course, saying the course was adequate and he particularly enjoyed his caddy Bill who taught him a few new skills. As stated in previous reviews it really is the staff that makes your stay here a fantastic and memorable experience. Suggestions for Jewel Management: Your website/brochure resort photos do not reflect the current colourful island decor but rather the resort as it once was. We would have liked more thatched-roof-huts on the beach for more shady spots. The rental palapas by the pool seemed pricey and often unused...perhaps rental without the $$$ concierge service??? A little less "rush" through the meals at Jade Samurai would have made for more relaxed dining, though we realize you are trying to fit everyone one into the experience. Resort drinks were excellent, red wine was good, but the white wine really was flavourless/bland. Keep up the good work...your staff is amazing!!!! Room Tip: Our room #3112 was comfortable, bright, clean, refurbished, on the main floor, facing the Jade Samur...

Couples Negril: A very nice resort!!!!

Excellent food. Great personel. Beach was like none other. Buildings somewhat dated--could use a spruce-up ,paint, etc. The grounds were super clean. Boat tours were fantastic. We would go back again.

Sunset Surprise: Great Resort

Had a great time at Jamaica Grande. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the taller building and our room was clean and comfortable and had a great view of the beach as well as the city. The food was great. Loved the location and being able to walk into downtown Ocho Rios.
