Melia Cayo Coco: Fantastic vacation!

We celebrated my mothers' 80th birthday here. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The gardens were well maintained and beautiful to explore. Loved that the pool, beach and restaurants were all easy for my mother to get around easily and safely on her own. The food was excellent with lots of variety. This is my second vist here. I was first here with my husband 2 years previous and was not disappointed upon my second visit!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Another great time at the Caribe

This was trip no 4 to this Resort, we travelled as a group of 7 and without exception we are all looking forward to our next visit, Staff are among the best anywhere, we have travelled many times to Cuba and this resort is the favorite. The beach is lovely and the new patio area makes a nice shaded area to relax or enjoy a pizza. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Lovely Resort

The food was very good. Nice clean beach. Nice Pools Lovely staff and very helpful. Buffet had a varied selection. All l la cartes very good in service and food. Entertainment was good. Drinks were plentiful and delicious.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Enjoyable and fun

Overall I think that this was a clean resort. Gardens were well maintained. The staff were all so kind, friendly, helpful and some really fun. The rooms were good. I was on the 3rd floor so I did not experience any flooding after the torrid rains as the first floor guests did. I didn't really like the food as it was somewhat too salty but I did like the hot dogs and the banana mamas at the snack bar and the rice at the buffet. Hotel Playa Paraiso: Nice Resort.... Quiet!

This was my 27th Caribbean vacation, 12th to Cuba. The beach was amazing... the best :-) The food was not great... and I like everything. Only 2 places I can think of where I could actually say that the food wasn't great, and this is one of them. Did it ruin my vacation? Absolutely not!! :-) The people were great, the beach was great, it was sunny and I had a cold drink in my hands. :-) For a 2 year old hotel, the rooms were showing signs of deterioration. It was clean and I got to stare at the ocean every day. If you go expecting a 3 or 3-1/2 star .... Cuba style ..... you won't be disappointed. I wouldn't go back to this hotel again or recommend it because I know of several hotels that top this one for the same price! GREAT beach!!!!!!! Amazing!!!!!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: This resort should not be more than two star.

Being sick and required doctors help, because food was awful,they not changing the towel in the bathroom, you trow them on the floor to be change and they put them back on the shelfs.. Being on vacation, have diaria problem, high fever is not a joke. We had also doctors expenses and that is not only my family, there was lot more people with the same problem. Never again!

Hotel Camino del Mar: Pleasant good size resort on a beautiful beach

Cuba doesn’t have access to food like Mexico and they don't have those chefs with fancy recipes. But they do a pretty good job with what they have especially since I traveled in low season. Choice of food was a bit repetitive but good and we never starved. If you're going for gourmet dining, I suggest you go to Riviera Maya. But we already knew what to expect when in Cuba. The entire staff at the resort were very nice and accommodating. Special thanks to Yaninis, Misleidys and Alexeis at the lobby bar. They know what their client's want. Special thanks to Omar who works at the pool bar and buffet area; he went out of his way when my hubby wasn't feeling too well because of the extreme heat. The beach is easy to access from pretty much anywhere on the resort. Long stretch of beautiful white sand, warm turquoise water, and a very long deck on the ocean. I especially loved that deck for my early morning yoga practice at sun rise Such a view and peaceful moment to practice yoga. The beach is beautiful. NO ALGAE problem there! I urge you to keep it clean if you should go there. Bring a recyclable mug or bottle and use it each day. If everyone does his part, that beach will remain beautiful for long. Some tourists are a little sloppy, they figure that some Cuban will come around to pick up their garbage in the evening. Yes, they probably do, but if they miss some spots, that garbage ends up polluting the beautiful water for the fish to eat. Not pleasant to walk on old plastic cups and beer cans either. Keep in mind that you can visit the five other Melia hotels around there for 5 cuc/person using a shuttle. You can spent the day at another Melia to eat and use their facilities. Nice way to compare. We personally had a very nice and quiet room (1302). What impressed us was that you didn't hear the air conditioner; they use heat pumps to cool the rooms. So you get a quiet sleep. Buildings are all concrete so a lot more quiet in your room. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Beds were very comfortable too. Melia Cayo Guillermo hotel does need to be refreshed but it is kept very clean. It could be a gem like another tourist said if they refreshed the hotel and upgraded the food more. Would be great if clients to have free wifi all over the resort too. Some improvements with Internet. You can now buy 1 hr internet access cards and connect via your various devices instead of using their computers. The cards cost 2 cuc for 1 hr. That's pretty much it. I probably would go back at some point if I want to rest and do my yoga on the water front. Perfect size hotel for that. Enjoy!

Melia Cayo Coco: Difficult to review

I'll start with the pros: 1.Excellent food , by far best buffet we experienced in Cuba always fresh, choices were incredible , fish , shell fish , smoked salmom , beef , lamb , pork , you name it they had it. Fresh Fruit , fresh salads. Fresh donut station in the morning and afternoon. Just great food. 2.Excellent drinks, Top Shelf brands , drinks were awesome. Cons 1. Room wasnt ready when we got there at 4pm , an hour wait , no big deal , went to bar for a drink. 2.We booked a Junior Suite, once we got to our room we were not happy, the room was like a jail cell, closed in no view and dark. So we asked for another room, we went to see it and the room was still occupied, half naked man and woman(dressed) on bed. Obviously went we back to lobby unhappy. Next they offered us a deluxe suite, but at a charge of 68CUC/day extra. Went to see the room( on the Lagoon) and it just wasnt worth it to us, you didnt get much for the extra CUC's, so thats what we told them. So its around 5:30 no room, not checked in and we were asked to go to the lobby again and that someone would be right back. We did, 2 mins later they offered the room to us at 48CUC/day extra. We were tired and took the room. 2.The next day we met with our West Jet rep (Yvan) for the regular orientation. We asked to speak to Yvan after the meeting, we discussed what happened when we checked in Yvan was fantastic(perhaps this should be in the pro section)he took our check in mess to management and got back to us within 15 min. We were to keep the room we had at no extra cost. 3. THE LAGOON , OMG It is PUTRID You come out of your room and you are hit with this stence thats just digusting. The problem is that depending on the wind you smell this Lagoon in the lobby , at the snack bar and just going for walks. Accompanied with this Lagoon come the insects at night, brutal. They use foggers at the resort, but it's simply not enough. 4. Dress Code 100% enforced at International and Italian, not so much at Cuban We had a reservation for 7pm, I had on Ralph Lauren dress shorts(didnt pack long pants) and got refused , as we were waiting for the food and beverage Manager (Juan)a couple walked in, man had on jeans and sneakers, he got it. Make a long story short we did not get in even after speaking with Juan. We left unhappy. Juan did speak to us the next day and made it up to us, we got to have our a la cartes out doors which was very nice. Joseph our waiter out doors, was fantastic and funny !! Overall the staff at this resort were fantastic !! However our overall experience was only average. We choose this resort as it was rated #1 of 11 in Cayo Coco It did not live up to its ranking in our opinion. Hotel Playa Coco: Great resort!

This is a lovely resort, with a really beautiful beach, lovely grounds, a clean spacious pool, and an exceptionally nice, big children's pool. There is a small playground and a ''clubhouse'' for younger kids. The food was quite good , but the a la Carte's, apart from the Japanese, were mediocre. The staff are pleasant, but speak very little English, so a bit of Spanish is helpful. We just washed and dried them ourselves !! But , over all, a very nice resort, and I would definitely go back again.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Fantastic Resort

We went for our 20th Anniversary and had an amazing time! Can not say enough great things about all the staff that we were fortunate enough to meet. Our room was not ready when we arrived at 12:30pm but that was okay because check in was not until 4. When we did get our room the A/C was not working, so my husband went to notify them at the front desk and within 10 minutes there was a maintenance man there to repair it but it couldn't be fixed,so he told my husband to go to the front desk and tel [... read more]l them and to our surprise he came back with 2 keys to a new room! Fantastic service! The pools were amazing, drinks and food were good, the beach was gorgeous. You need to bring water shoes there was some coral for the first 5feet then it was all sand!! I did a lot of research before booking and I can tell you if you love Cuba you need to check out this resort.

It was a good hotel, the service was great, the food tastes good, the beach was very relaxing, the beds were comfortable, the bars were excellent, it was an overall amazing experience and i would like to go back shortly.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Paridise

Everything was perfect. The people were amizingly wonderful.Only one complaint was the food could have been much hotter . Other than that my stay there was perfect. The bartender in the front lobby makes great coffee.

Hotel Playa Coco: great vacation!

loved everything about this resort except for the wi fi network instability. The excursions, snorkeling, sailing, kayaking, mopeds excursions were great fun. The beaches are second to none and the staff was very friendly.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great Vacation Spot

Hotel is fairly new, the toilets flush, the food is very good, our air conditioner was very loud and disturbing us thru the night, but at least it worked, staff were very friendly, the beach has a lot of coral at the edge but we knew that ahead of time and took beach shoes which were worn out by the end of the week. Housekeeping could be improved: the floor barely swept, towels and sheets not changed, although at the end of the week we found a card telling us to put it on the bed if we wanted ou [... read more]r sheets changed. our patio needed sweeping as lots of long hair from previous guests and candy wrappers collected in the corners.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Spectacular beaches

We spent 7 days at this resort Sept 4 - 11. We were welcomed by Karen at the front desk at check-in she was very pleasant with a warm smile and very positive helpful attitude. This is worth mentioning because that is the first impression and she made it a very good one!! We have not always had the same impression at other resorts in the past. Melia Jardines del Rey: We lasted 24 hours....

Lobby and room were great! Service left a lot to be desired. Very slow and inattentive. Beach area is pretty but rocky but the smell is overwhelming. Without getting into a long story, we switched resorts the following afternoon.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Amazing food, great people

Hotel is amazing, clean and spacious. Staff is nice and welcoming. The resort looks like a little village, has small stores. Beach is close by, clean and they have great entertainment at the beach. I like that they help you with the benches.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great Experience

We had an amazing vacation. The beaches are to die for and really that was the main reason we chose Cayo Coco. The resort is good in general, but there can be some improvements with the food. It was our first time in Cuba and we have heard that food in Cuba is not good. I wouldn't say that, since we alsways found something good to eat, however it could definitevely be better compared for instance to other Resorts in other Caribean islands we've been. My family thought that the hotel was wonderful. The employees were very kind and caring, the shows were very entertaining, the food was delicious, the pool was relaxing and the beach was surreal. We will definitely recommend this resort to our friends and will come back next year!
