We loved this resort.
It wasn’t too big, so a short stroll to restaurants and beach.
Lots of chairs by the beach, but not enough around the pool.
Food was excellent.
Our room was very nice, with large sitting room and balcony.
Very good service.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Excellent resort
First time at this resort and we were very impressed. We were greeted by our butler, Isaias and he was fantastic. Always available to look after our every need but not hovering. Anyone who is lucky enough to have Isaias as their butler will not be disappointed!! A shout out to Dimitri, who was waiting to greet us every day on our way to breakfast, and Elroy, the bartender at the beach swim up bar. Really can't say enough about the hospitality of staff member that we met.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Excellent Resort
We decided only several days prior to departure to travel to this resort where we stayed in 2013. Our travel agent quickly organized everything and we departed on time with Sun Wing to enjoy a week Iberostar Costa Dorada.
This older resort is exceptionally well maintained, very clean and the grounds are truly spectacular. We base our views on 38 prior vacations to resorts mainly in Cuba and Dominican Republic. The rooms are spacious, everything works and the maid kept our room in tip top shape. [... read more]All the staff are friendly, work hard and we contribute this to the general manager who you see all day long working with his staff. For example one day he was carrying an arm full of plates to a BBQ on the beach-never at any other resort have we witnessed anything like that!
The building are all interconnected to the lobby which means when it rains one does not get soaked. This is important as we found out. The only problem was the seaweed on the beach which the staff diligently tried to remove every day. Otherwise this resort does everything it can to make your vacation truly a fun time

Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort: Lopesan Costa Bravaro
This hotel was fantastic all around and will only get better. It’s a 10 month old resort, staff is friendly but not always efficient due to language. This resort is a mix of French, Russian and English so it’s understandable. The beach is awesome, the facilities excellent. Food is somewhat bland but ok.
The spa is excellent as well. This resort offers you coffee shops to casinos
You won’t regret your choice if you come here.
Make sure you get towels early and get your seats by the pool

Bahia Principe Grand Samana Roulette: Beautiful Beach
I enjoyed my trip. The resort was better than my trip last year to Mexico. There are a few things about the resort in DR that I didn’t like. The lobby bar closed at 11pm. You HAD to go to the disco if you wanted a drink after that. There was no place to get snacks. Chips. Nuts. Crackers. Cookies. The room was beautiful. The view was amazing! I would definitely go back to DR. The roulette was pretty cool. If you’re flexible...that’s definitely the way to go! Saved us some big bucks!

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Punta Cana: FABULOUS REORT! FOR EVERYONE
IF YOU get bored here its not hard rocks fault! lol...the restaurants were all amazing and we loved the pizza especially ,loved how all the pools play different levels of music and don't forget to sample lunch at each of them.. all have different options! we were in building 7a and found it a great location..close to beach and restaurants and steak house ..which also served breakfast..they all have same breakfasts we found but the ones down by beach seemed quiter to get into with no lineups [... read more], but the main buffet at main lobby was always lined up...and the beach behind the kids pool always had umbrellas etc available and had a bar right there! the waves were big but so much fun..under towers strong tho..saw a few people that needed to be helped by the very diligent life guards so don't go in to far ! we found the staff truly lovely and very easy to communicate with ..they were all so happy..honestly happy..singing away and always trying to do what ever they could to make your stay great..and we didn't feel pressured to tip to get good service [ even tho we did as we know what a big difference it truly makes for their lives and how hard they work ]..loved the over all experience and had a ton of fun! we probably wouldn't go back as a couple but will defiantly go back with a group and family!

Bahia Principe Grand Samana Roulette: Amazing!!! Spectacular! Bahia Principe Cayacoa Roulette!
When we landed at Samana airport we went to the air canada rep and he told us we were going to the BPG Cayacoa. (Most reveiwes said that 99% of the roulette people end up here). The resort is 45 mins from the airport which was fine. Checkin was ok a little slow the whole bus was at our resort. (Its not like punta cana where there are 20 resorts in a row and they drop off people like bus stops).
Since we did the roulette we got whichever room was available. We got the room with 2 double beds. E[... read more]ven though when we booked the trip we had requested a king bed. It was so late by the time we checked in, ate a snack at the snack bar, we didnt care to bother with a room change. Felt like more of a hassle. So we ended up moving some furniture around and pushed the beds together, and it was fine.
This resort is not at all suitable for small children or people who are unable to walk too much. It is built on a hill and is ALL slopes and stairs. We stayed in bldg 21 and it took 116 stairs to get to the main buffet. U can call reception from your room and they will send a golf cart to come pick u up. But that could sometimes take up to 10-15 minutes of waiting. So we just walked. If there was a cart waiting to pick up someone else we would hop on. But we didnt wait.
We saw maybe 3 kids the whole week we were here. Bringing strollers will be a nightmare here!!! Unless u can get a room in the hotel building which has elevators and not the outside villas.
There is free wifi everywhere. Rooms, lobby, restaurants, pools, even spotty connection at the beach. Once you check in you can log on. You can book ala carte restaurants on the app. (We teied the Orcadea, amazing!)
We had an amazing week. Walking a lot. Food is great here. Lots of variety. We enjoyed everything and were not picky at all. Drinks were good too. We have been going to cuba the last few years so come back to DR was very refreshing!
The place is spectacular so green and grogeous. The most scenic views we have ever seen.
Extremely clean and well groomed.
Bathrooms by the pool and lobby are very clean. Servers and everyone working around the resort are very nice. A $1 tip and a smile can go a long way. They are Ready to serve and help at all times.
Beware of the bahia principe privilege guys in the lobby. They are vultures and will try and sell u time shares and upgrades. They are v annoying and persistant but if u say no to them 2-3 times they will leave u alone. Do not make eye contact with them and do not let them start up a conversation. U will waste 1-2 hrs of a good day just trying to get them to shut up! He will start of by offering u a necklace and then its down hill from there lol
The beach is very small, yiu ca the elevatorfeom the main poil area or u an walk down hundreda of steps on the other side. Water is merky. Sand is brown. So if u are expecting to see crystal blue water and white sand u will be disappointed.
Its very clean though. The far section of the beach is shared with the locals which was not a bother. Some reviewers complained that there were too many locals on the beach. We did not find that at all. We spent more time at the pools all week anyways.
Our block of villas (bldg 21) had its own pool and bar. Very quite...we hung out there on a cloudy day and were by ourselves the whole day which was brilliant.
Our room 2106 was great. Big. Clean. Bathroom also was great. Lots of good pressure hot water.
Too many mosquitos though! Bring mosquito repellant and keep the ac cranked in the room. Do not turn the ac off...or u will get invaded by mosquitos. Also leave the bathroom door open so the whole area is cold. It gets very cold at night. We ended up wearing socks to bed. But we didnt want to be bitten! So bring long pjs!
Walked into town one day which was nice. Its very safe. Theres a Bahia shopping village. Vendors will approach you a lot but will leave u alone if u say no thanks. DO NOT book any excursions with random vendors in town!!!
Walked on the "bridge to nowhere" a few times. Its a very long walk. We loved it. Dont walk it at night as its totally isolated and cut ofd from the hotel.
We did the National Park excusion which was excellent. I would highly recommend. Be sure to wear running shoes as you will be walking in caves etc. Alot of people wore flipflops and its very rocky and slippery.
All in all excellent resort and a wonderful week!!!

Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort: Beautiful Resort BUT!!
Our vacation started off with about an hour delay leaving as the Sunwing flight crew couldn't get ground transportation to the airport. (poor excuse - weather or mechanical problem acceptable). I will never go on another vacation that has these horrible flight times again and it seems that's all Sunwing has.
Once we were at the hotel we were at the head of the line, so check-in took no time at all. I liked that our wristbands were also the key to our room. We got a nice surprise, our room [... read more]had been upgraded.
Our room was big and beautiful. I had a few complaints that should be easy to fix. We only had 1 small bottle of water in our room ( in a country where you are not supposed drink the water). This is the first hotel I have ever been in that didn't have kleenex in the bathroom. The room had a nice big closet but it only had 3 hangers in it.
This is the first resort I have been that has a 24/7 restaurant. Which was great because it was after 11pm when we got there. The service was fast and food was good. We only had to make reservations once for the a la carte restaurants. We ate at a different 1 every night except 1 which we ate at the buffet. No complaints at any of them. My favorite was the Japanese.
The grounds were beautiful. Couldn't believe how mature the gardens looked for a new resort. Infinity pools all over. The Boulevard has just everything you could want to do. The casino is still not open.
The beach and the pools are beautiful, but the BIG problem with this hotel is the chairs at the beach and the pool. The first morning we got out to the pool late, so we were expecting to have a hard time finding a chair. But the next morning we were down by 7. There are signs up saying no reserving of lounge chairs. But by 7 there were very few chairs that didn't have a towel on it and very few people at either the beach or the pool sitting on them. I have no idea what time these people were down there at. Morning 2 we got our chairs and went to breakfast. Now this is a first of any resorts I've been to. When we got back our stuff was still there but our chairs were gone. There was a gentleman sitting by us that said he had told them to not take them we were coming back. He said the worker at the towel shack had told a security guard to take them. Don't know why they picked on us but there was still a lot of chairs with no one sitting on them. After some discussion with the towel guy and the security guard another worker was going to get us chairs. Have no idea who he stole them from.
This was quit the discussion with everyone around the pool. You could watch several times a day, everyday the staff removing peoples things from their chairs and carrying them away. Supposedly more chairs were on order. You felt like you couldn't get up and go to the bathroom or go in the pool because your chair might be gone when you got back. One morning I sat on another couples chair to make sure no one took them while they went for breakfast. I found this very frustrating and I don't think I would come here again at this time of the year.
One night I went to get clean beach towels for the next morning but there weren't any. The next morning when I went to get clean towels there were a couple of girls that asked for an extra towel. My thought was that people were getting more than 1 towel and saving a chair at the beach and 1 at the pool. If the people working in the towel booth would only hand out ONE towel like they are supposed to this might help with the chair problem.
I think this resort could use another bar on the beach. There are only 2 bars down by the beach and large pool. One is for Unique guests. There were very few people using it all day. The bartenders did handle it well at the bar the majority of people used. They had the people line up on both sides and kept telling them to move over. This was a fair way of doing it. They had a cart set up on each side of the pool with drinks. I didn't get a drink from these as there was not a cooler keeping the water or mix cold. Just a big bucket of ice. They could also use more waitresses working around the large pool. Most of the time it seemed like there was only 1 on the other side of the pool. I've been to other resorts that had places with machines that you could go get your own water, juice and pop. I think they could use these here.
Leaving our flight was supposed to leave at 9:20 pm but it got delayed by 2 hours. I liked they left us at the resort. But it was 1 of the other passengers that told us first that it was delayed not the Sunwing Rep. We were finally in the air at 11:50. LONG DAY!!!

Occidental Punta Cana: Perfect get-awat
I was very impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel. There was always someone raking or sweeping or scrubbing or painting. It was well laid out with pools strategically placed throughout the resort. Both the pool and beach had ample seating. The pool was very clean and warm. The beach was beautiful. The beach was raked often and always has security. It was a wonderful holiday and we look forward to returning next year.
The grounds were very nice and the room was very clean and not at all musty smelling like some Caribbean all inclusives. There were plenty of chairs available around the adult pool and the adult beach. However there were not many chairs with shade on the beach. The beach itself was very clean with only a little bit of sea weed. The dress code in the restaurants was quite relaxed and the food was good but not great in the specialty restaurants. We had an amazing time at Excellence El Carmen. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. The resort is kept very clean. The beach access was great. The beach was clean and the sea as well. We had access either to the beach or the pool. We had a room with a private pool. The room was clean to the standard of what I have expected. The pool was cleaned and chemicals were added every day.

All in all, we got treated like royalty and the resort is a dream. We definitely go back.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Thumbs up, thumbs down...
Overall stay pleasant and relaxing especially because of spa area.
Great service!
Missed the clear turquoise water of other areas because the ocean is agitated. Beautiful sand on wide beach absolutely wonderful for long walks.
The rooms need a little love and refresher...
Entertainment/stage area quite pitiful...
