Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Best resort

Very clean with friendly staff hotel. Food is really great. Amazing beach and bars. Variety of restaurant to,satisfy everybody . Nice clean rooms . Will return if we can. Good animation program with different shows every night.

Catalonia Montego Bay: It was super quaint and nice and small.

The staff was awesome and the food was great. We really enjoyed the hospitality from the staff. Everyone was very helpful and loved to talk! We were greatly surprised at the evening view of the cruise ships as they past our beach area while dining on the balcony of the al la carte restaurants. Sandals Jamaica Caribbean Cay: A lovely lovers nest !

This was our 1st experience with an adult only all-inclusive. We went to celebrate our 20th anniversary and it really did feel like a week long date! We received excellent service from everyone. The staff made you feel well taken care of. The staff appeared to be loving their employment at this location. We did not tip( as per their policy) and we were never made to feel that we should. The food excellent,great variety,always available with tons of healthy choices. I don't understand the alcohol [... read more]- i do not regularly drink ,i drank lots and never felt a buzz the entire week. The wine was nice from Nappa Valley. The ocean was lovely.....clear,warm,blue....beautiful. Our room was huge,clean,a/c with a view of the ocean. Down side-a peacock roosted from 5am on-wards every 5 mins and every single morning and we could not sleep. The sunrise was nice to see. The beach was ok. You could not walk the beach for exercise,too short. The gym was amazing! New equipment and no one there. The only disappointment was the nightly entertainment- simply,it was terrible. Night after night - 2 thumbs down.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Disappointing

Negatives: No A/C in the restaurants; A/C didn't always work in the room; maids stole articles of clothing from our room (and other items from other guests, from what we heard); there were never any fresh beach towels available; room service took OVER 2 hours to deliver (when they advertise a 45 minute max. wait time). Positives: Beach and pool were great, the wedding gazebo location was perfect for our wedding. Couples Secret Rendezvous: Lovely Beach and View

Liked this hotel, although, disappointed because we do not believe it is worthy of 4 or 5 star rating. Food was OK but not amazing. Specialty restaurants served same fare as the buffet. Entertainment was very low key and almost non existent. Beach Party was very good. Staff were friendly overall. It was difficult to get beach service but the bars are very close for self service and the bar tenders attentive. Housekeeping was good- we had a beautiful room with excellent view. Our accommodations w [... read more]ere the best part of the resort along with the beautiful beach with the great chairs and cushions. Beach was well maintained - very clean. Beach is small and it was sometimes challenging to get a chair or a place to put one. To sum it up - small resort, very quiet, easy access to all areas, pleasant staff, OK food, nice accommodations, beautiful beach, but small. Lots of water sports but reservations required and difficult to get if you wait too long to book. Very laid back atmosphere, restful.

Jewel Paradise Cove: “ Perfect”

This was our first visit to Jamaica and it was a great time, The staff was wonderful and friendly. The food and service was great. We especially enjoyed the Moonstone (Italian restaurant). Grand Decameron Montego Beach: use to be my favorite place in the world

I have been going to this resort for 8 years, And up until this trip it was like going home I loved it , However alot of staff has changed and things are not what they use too be .I felt like a stranger the front desk staff was rude The entertainment staff was lacking that vibe that I have come to love of this resort.This resort was never a 5 star but in all my other reviews I rated it at leadt a 4 or more because what it lacked in size or beach or food the staff allways made those things seem u [... read more]nimportant because you were made to feel like family and there was allways good vibes .Im very sad to have to say that im unhappy with this last trip.I really hope they pull it together.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Good resort

Wasn't thrilled with the different LEVELS of AlI Inclusive. Certainly had the typical Jamaican hospitality which I love and the weather was second to none Plenty to do however as I mentioned not everything and everywhere available to all guests which left a bit of a us and them feel to it

Catalonia Montego Bay: beautiful family vacation

Home away from home. Absolutely love this location for family vacation, I have been four times to this resort and will probably return one day soon. The food is awesome LOVE the jerk hut it's always my first stop when arriving.

Secrets St James: Lovely Resort

The oceanview room was fantastic with a brilliant room service set up. Dining was always a pleasure at all restaurants and reservations were never a problem. Outdoor music by the lounge was enjoyable and the availability of liquers was positive.

Grand Decameron Montego Beach: nice older place

good food good snorkelling clean relaxing place no "beach", lots of spaces to play good loc. near airport & strip. would go back for the right price but I enjoy a good beach, this place has everything but that, still go for the fun of it.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great Resort for couples and families

My Wife and I were at this resort in Oct 2013. This is a great resort and we are contemplating our return this fall to this resort or another one in Jamaica. During our two week stay at this resort, the only 2 complaints that we have is the steak restaurant and the bartenders at the outside patio on the main hotel level. We found that the people who managed this restaurant were rude and the food mediocre. The bartenders at the outside main bar were less than friendly. If you tipped them there wa [... read more]s a possibility for better service but don't count on it. The room that we had was great and always clean. We tipped the maid daily as well as numerous other places around the resort. Bring lots of US dollars for tipping although the hotel is supposed to be all inclusive. We only went once to the evening outdoor show which we found Ok. We went with Golden Club and these people cannot do enough for you to resolve any complaints. There is also free internet at the Golden Club. The people selling time share or whatever they are selling are a pain and a nuisance. The hotel can be accessed from anywhere on the 3rd level and is great when it is raining. You can get to anywhere on this level and there are elevators for your use. No need to walk up stairs unless one really wants to. All in all, this is a great resort and one should be unafraid to stay at this resort. The beach area in rocky and there are lots of chairs and umbrellas for everyone.

Couples Swept Away: Wonderful resort!

We have only good things to say about Couples Swept Away. A beautiful, laid back adults only resort. The beach was incredible.....the best we've seen. The resort's amenities were great. The 25 meter pool is just outstanding for anyone who likes to swim. The food was to die for.....and the people that worked at the resort were gracious and lovely. We would go back in a heartbeat...this is one of our favourite places, ever.

Sandals Jamaica Dunn's River: Truly is a Jewel

It was 31 years since we had been to Jamaica. Our first trip was not very good so we never went back, until last January when we booked the Jewel Dunn"s River. From the moment we arrived we fell in love with the resort, the island and the people. We have certainly changed our minds about Jamaica. The staff at this resort were friendly, efficient and made our stay very special. We recommend this resort to everyone we talk to. Terry

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Great vacation

We visited the Jewel Runaway Bay the last week of February 2014 to run away from the Canadian winter. We had never visited Jamaica before. We were not disappointed. The flight and airport were great. Only guests at the Jewel Runaway Bay were on our bus, so we didn't have to stop along the way during the 60 minute ride to the resort. Check in was smooth and our room was ready for us. In fact some of the rooms received new furniture when we were there. Cleaning staff were friendly and thorough. It is a compact resort, with beach, lobby, restaurants close by. Great if you are mobility challenged. The buffet and restaurants were all great. We particularly enjoyed the Italian restaurant. There is no need for reservations at the restaurants except for the Japanese as they have set seating times. The beach was wonderful, clean and quiet. Almost private. You could walk for about 1 kilometre and hardly see anyone. There is a reef just off the beach where you can snorkel. We also did the snorkel trip offered at the hotel. There were always enough beach chairs - no need to get up at 6 AM to reserve a spot. The pools were well maintained. We spent most of our time at the pool over looking the beach. The gym at the resort was nice and well equipped. The windows over looked the mountains. Towels and water were provided. We didn't take advantage of the spa or the golf, but we did a day trip into the Blue Mountains. It was a bike trip. We were driven to the mountains by an entertaining guy who tried to teach us Jamaican phrases. We were driven part of the way up the mountain where we were fed brunch and given our safety gear of helmet and elbow pads. After brunch were driven further up the mountain where we got our bikes for the downhill ride. The bikes only had foot breaks. We had safety guides and a security attachment. We biked back down to the main camp where we had lunch then continued our ride down the mountain to finish at a beautiful water fall. Along the way we stopped to be shown medicinal plants and herbs, plants indigenous to Jamaica and visited a sugar cane field and a orchard. We were then bussed back to our hotel. Entertainment was varied. Every night during dinner at the buffet there was live jazz music and at the lobby, live piano music after dinner. There were a variety of shows nightly. Due to our arrival and departure times, we missed the Steel Drum show both Sunday night. I would have liked to see that. Our departure was seamless and again, we were the only hotel on the bus to the airport. We had pre purchased tickets to use the lounge, which fast tracked us through customs, provided us with food and drink at the lounge. There was even a shower area if you wanted to use it. As our departure was late at night, the airport was not too busy and we probably didn't need the fast track, but I imagine that if it were at a busier time for departures, the $29.00 would be worth it. We had a great time at the Jewel Runaway Bay. My husband was even talking of returning there another year, even before we left!

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Oustanding

Perfection. Spotless resort. Food amazing and people were beyond wonderful. Beautiful location with stunning beach. The attention to detail and service was top-notch. Planning a second trip there already!

Catalonia Montego Bay: just so so ...

Went with my family in Jan 2014.Three beaches were all small.Food and service was just average.The resort was close to the airport that was a bonus.It had a kids club.The rooms were clean but just normal in size.

Grand Decameron Montego Beach: Excellent Value for the $$$

The Royal Decameron - Montego Beach is a fantastic place to stay. Surprisingly good and consistent food for an all-inclusive (great variety and constantly replenished), friendly and professional service, plain but clean and comfortable accommodations with spectacular views. Location can't be beat - 5 min. drive from the airport and an easy walk up the street if you want to get away for the resort or need anything.

Catalonia Montego Bay: the worst resort

My experience was not good at all. A lot of staff where not friendly, didn't acknowledge you. Swim up pool was close but didn't say anything about it on line when i was booking. Not enough fruits, hardly ever there was bananas. I would never go back and would not recommend this resort to anyone.  

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Great resort

The snorkeling is great off either the sunset or corel beach areas. The food was very good and some meals were fabulous. The smoked marlin at the salad bars was probably the best I have ever had. I have been there 5 times and have introduced it to 5 other couples with no concerns it would impress.
