Melia Jardines del Rey: amazing family experience!

Melia Jardines del Rey was a fantastic choice for our family. The owner sparred no expense in this resort. The lobby was spacious and very attractive and comfortable. People who work there were very helpful. The pools were large and made for kids. I did not have to worry about my kids drowning because there were tons of shallow areas in the pools. The ocean was beautiful but the beach was rocky and you need water shoes to be comfortable.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Amazing and relaxing!

Everything from the check in to check out was excellent. The only thing was water wasn't stocked so we asked at the front, and we were stocked from then on but no drinks in the fridge. Food was great and room was excellent. Amazing and relaxing! The beach was amazing and very clean. Pools were very cleaned too. People working there were very friendly if you tip them food. Melia Jardines del Rey: Worst holiday ever in Cuba!

The physical surroundings are new..but that is it. Hostile aggressive and atmosphere .. beach is rocky -- boulders ...never quiet .. techno music constantly , Cuba army on beach drinking, smoking throwing butts on beach & water, Cuban families take over the beach and water drinking .. etc. imposing.. be prepared to take hrs for food , tourists pushy , greedy with food ,, rude .. I am very positive, resilient traveler, but his place does not give any Cuba hospitality .. rather go to a tired resor [... read more]t that respect their workers and tourists .. advertises as 4 star.. only in buildings.. service, atmosphere is hostile , aggressive , disrespectful -- unlike any resort I have been to in Cuba ..owned by Spain .. management must be awful to work for to create such a hostile place .. will never return there or recommend to anyone

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing Resort !!!!!!

My Husband and I were at Memories Flamenco Beach Resort Aug 4-15th. It was a beautiful resort, great food, amazing staff. It's close to the airport, so travel is quick. Check-In was very efficient, done on the bus so no delay... Buffet and restaurants were very nice. Grounds are lovely and very well maintained. We were in Building 1 room 1410 and the view was Spectacular !!! I'd return tomorrow if possible !!!

Hotel Mojito: Very relaxing with attentive staff :)

Large resort with lovely, long beach when the tide is out. Plenty of food that was fine. Bartenders, servers, grounds staff, front desk staff and housekeeping were all wonderful. Our 2nd time here! The adult pool is very quiet as well as a good size. We are a couple who were looking for a quiet, sunny getaway before we came home to move into a new house and renovate and our goal was met!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: A memory in cuba

Excellent family vacation would completely recommend it to anyone with or without kids. Relax, eat, drink and enjoy the wonderful cuban people and amazing beach. One tiny complaint was the beach towel hours and services. It was ok.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Overall worth the money

I took my parents, kids and girlfriend - The rooms are clean and the facilities are decent. The beach is perfect with the right amount of sand and some coral to keep the kids interested. Small resort so endless walking is not an issue. The key to this resort is the entertainment team. The evening shows are amazing (9 out of 10) - Food was typical of most Cuban resorts, bars are really slow to serve and the water sports (hobby cats) staff are rude. If the deal is right.. take this vacation!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing Resort

The hotel and grounds is very nice will maintained, very clean. The People are very friendly. The workers spoke English so it made it easier to communicate with them. The beach was beautiful white sand and it went on for miles. I would definitely go back.

Hotel Playa Coco: Nothing to write home about!

First time in Cuba, I had already hear stories on what to expect and not. Their advise was not far off. Food - choices where poor, Beaches Great! Staff - awesome! Linens never cleaned or with holes or stains, 1 beach towel for stay... I would return to Cayo Coco but not this resort

Hotel Camino del Mar: Nice one

We were in room 1311 and I loved it. Resort was small so everything was close by - the beach, dining area, pool, bar. This resort is close to Pilar beach and it is a must see. Everyone was friendly and place was clean. My favourite food was lamb, roasted pig, and beef goulash with rice. International drinks are included in the price so you don't have to drink local baverages. Fridge in the room always contained bottled water, pop, and beer. Hotel Playa Coco: relaxing trip

Our last visit to this Hotel was around 2008, there are some changes, all good, it still is a great place. We emailed the Hotel we were coming and they responded promptly. Trip down via Sunwing was uneventful and on time, service was great. No problem with Cuban Customs either way. Great place to relax, weather was warm, sunny, ocean also warm and calm most days, lost of chairs on beach. Arrival/Front Desk – Arrival was smooth and uneventful, bus was waiting and we were the 3rd stop with on [... read more]ly 5 people to check-in so it did not take long, our rooms were ready. Front Desk very helpful whenever we had to approach them. Internet was not that great, we did not bring our cell phones and found that we paid $6 CUC for 1 Hour and could not get on as it was down a lot. They can hook you up if you bring a cell phone as they have WIFI. Rooms - Stayed in the 4000 block (Pink Building) on the 3rd floor (4303) Beach view, room was very large, safe and fridge and beach towels in room. Maids great, clean room and towels everyday. Not that bad of a climb up the stairs. Restaurants – Lots of choices at the Buffet, probably too much, there was a lot of Seafood. Two Frying/Grill stations at lunch and dinner, one is mainly fish, the other meats. Usual fair for Breakfast, two egg stations. Pasta bar at lunch and dinner, we never tried the pasta but they were kept busy. Services at Bars GREAT, Buffet has a few issues, I think they were short staffed in the Buffet on the night of the repeaters dinner but overall service ok. Did not do a La Carte so can't comment on them. As usual people liked the Japanese and Italian. Buffet was fine for us, we did get a invite to the Repeater and Special dinner but did not attend them. Bars - The piano bar is now enclosed, air conditioned, good drinks and service at all including Beach Bar and Beer Garden/24HR. Bar at the Children pool also good, not as many drinks but the bartender makes it special. There is a Wine bar there now and the doctor/nurse office is there. ( this use to be the Ice Cream shop). Beach and Pools - The beach is very nice, was shallow and we walked mostly on the side with no hotels. If the water is calm there are a lot of fish around. Did not use the large pool, there was always a lot of activity around it, we did visit the children pool in the afternoon, no shade but nice and quiet. There are no paddle boats but they did have Kayaks and Small Cats to take you out. Grounds – Found it much more lush than before, well laid out, easy to get around, they are renovating some of the buildings so they were closed, around 200 guest but did not feel busy at all. Activities – We went to relax so did not do anything other than that but there was always something going on, they had Cuban Day at the beach and it was busy. They had games and entertainment all the time, we never watch the shows but they people seemed to enjoy them. Lots of music, dancing, one night they brought in a live 80's rock band and I think people really liked that a lot. Only comment is that the night time show announcer should not yell so much, you cannot understand what he is saying, he seems to shove the microphone in his mouth, a lot of people found it annoying. We got our value for the price, the staff were fantastic, service was great whether you tip or not. It is a great place to relax and do nothing, if you want you can do tours, they offer many things to do but we just like to chill when we visit this Hotel. Met some nice people, tourist and staff, will try to return again, we had a great time. Room Tip: Yellow or Pink Buildings near beach or beach view, 3rd floor not that hard of a climb.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Great resort

Great resort for the price, large open grounds for nice walks. Check out all the cool birds in the one pond and all the flamingos, take bread to feed them. Staff is very attentive. Pools are very nice, beach water is super, sand all the way out no rocks to walk on. A la carte restaurants were great, oriental was our favourite.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Lovely picturesque resort

I spent a week at the Colonial at the end of June and early July, with my daughter and 8 year old grandson. It is a large, architecturally beautiful resort, with a lovely beach, several large swimming pools (both fresh and salt water), spacious rooms (ours was ocean view), very decent food (especially the Italian a la Carte), and friendly and efficient staff. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing!

This is the most amazing resort! The staff are brilliant, the grounds are beautiful and the entertainment is the best by far! It is a nice sized resort that you can walk around and it is quite picturesque! The food is good and the drinks are amazing. I can hardly wait to get back! This is paradise on earth!

Hotel Playa Coco: Loved it!

We were at the Hotel Playa Coco from July 26th to August 2nd. The food was great at the buffet, lots of selection. Japanese restaurant is a must it's awesome! We were in ocean view rooms in the yellow building close to the beach, and it was only a short walk to the pool and lobby too. Beach is BEAUTIFUL. I'm not picky about food and accommodations, so you have to remember this is Cuba and it's not luxurious. I'll be back to this resort for sure, can't beat it for the price.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Amazing resort!

We just came back from a wonderful week at Melia Jarnines del Ray! The resort is still being built but that didn't stop us from enjoying one bit! Exceptional service, friendly, welcoming staff. They always went out of there way to welcome you! Rooms were excellent and clean! Pools were superb and always had loungers available no need to wake up early in order to get one. Hotel Playa Paraiso: Great experience

Hotel was clean, quality of food was good but not great but always plentiful. Swimming pool was large and suitable for both adults and children, however, the tiles are coming off posing risk of cutting your feet. Stayed in a large suite, highly recommend if travelling with little kids. Overall, a great vacation!

I traveled alone, had never been to Cuba, and was unsure where to stay. With the help of your agent (Kristian Parr), I chose Memories Flamenco and am glad I did! Absolutely wonderful resort. Beautiful grounds and well maintained Wide range of activities for young and old, single, family, couples, etc. Very friendly, hospitable staff. Concierge, front desk, waitstaff, and Sunwing rep. always there to answer questions and help. Still trying to understand what everybody says about the food, because [... read more] it was wonderful. The premium lobster dinner I received being a Diamond Club, was cooked perfectly. The only thing, maybe, is the shoreline has a lot of coral on it. So difficult to walk along the beach with your (bare) feet in the water. But, not much you can do about that.

Just got back from Pestana Cayo Coco, my husband and I were there with our 6 year old son for 7 nights and here is my experience: Hotel Grounds/ Amenities the hotel advertises that it has Childcare centre and kids activities on site but everytime we went by the childcare centre, it was closed and absolutly no acivities for the kids anywhere else. The pools were ok and the beach was georgous but it was very disspointing to get up early every morning (around 6am) only to find that the pool lounge [... read more]rs and beach chairs have already been "reserved" by people who would leave their towels behind from the night before (i found it a bit unfair since it should be a first come first serve from early morning on and people should not be allowed to reserve the loungers from the night before). Please also be advised that is absolutly no air conditioning or ceiling fans in the lobby, stage area, reservation desk etc. It was very very hot and unbearble at times. Dining We are not picky eaters and we have been to Cuba many times so we know what we were expecting. The food in Cuba is very bland so we took our mustard, relish, ketchep, and hotsauce. Buffet Dining Room was ok (Fish was the main dish very day), but you can always find something there to eat. Italian A La Carte was good but not great, stay away for the Portugese and Cuban A La Carte, it was very dissapointing and we had to wait a long time to get served. We just hung around the beach everyday and had fried beach from the fish hut on the beach, it was delicious. Also would have hamburgers and fries from the Snack bar which kept us going. Rooms Our maid changed our towels only once during our stay and the sheets were not changed at all. Twice I had to call the HouseKeeping and request new towels. I know people in Cuba are very hard working so I didn't mind and still gave her tips and gifts everyday. We tipped everyone that worked there, bar guys, dining room waitresses, maids etc. Entertainment We watched for 3 nights and noticed that it was same people doing the same dances, performances so we didn't bother going for the rest of the evenings. Plus it was way too hot around the main stage area. I am not sure if i will return to Pestana Cayo Coco!!!
