Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Location matters

Well managed hotel in general. Big property, pools, gardens, restaurants - everything clean and in a good shape, although thatch roofs do need some maintenance. Rooms - mediocre, nothing to be delighted about. Conditioners need replacement/upgrade as some are leaking, and our room in particular was really humid, i.e. AC couldn't cope with it, so I've brought all our stuff back with the mould smell. And I really do not appreciate the charge for safe usage. Hotel is supposed to have some level of  [... read more]responsibility for your belongings, since you pay for your stay to not only be comfortable but somewhat safe. Yet, you're expected to pay extra to be sure you're not being robbed while you're at the beach. And these lock boxes are not difficult to force, I'd say. Hard working and always smiling personnel, respect to all the staff members - they're definitely making this hotel better. Great food at the buffet. We were staying with kids, so we were always among the first visitors at the buffet, and food was nice and hot. Good soups and porridge, so my 1-y-old was never hungry. Decent variety of fruits and salads, roast chicken and roast beef were really nice. Not too much of grilled fish to choose from - I'd prefer more local fish rather than defrosted salmon, but fine as well. Freshly baked croissants - my compliments to the baker. Gotta mention the icecream - a real highlight of our stay. My personal dislike goes to location - too far from the beach. I prefer beachfront, and book this hotel only because our friends were going, and it's always better to travel with friends. They say, you can get to the beach in no time from anywhere... well, it's kinda untrue - you can get there from main lobby and kids pool, but be prepared to wait. The average waiting time for us at the lobby "bus stop" was 15-20 minutes. Mojitos were good, wines - hit and miss. Do take taxi and go to Akumal Bay to swim with turtles. Go early in the morning before all the other groups arrive to avoid the crowd which muddy the waters. Fantastic kids shows - dance routine, costumes, real hard work. Would not come back through no fault of the hotel - location matters for me. Iberostar Lindo is way better in this area.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Spectacular Resort

This resort was simply amazing. The grounds and rooms are beautifully kept and you want for nothing, except more time to be there. The food is wonderful, no need to book the speciality restaurants as the buffet provides a wonderful dining experience. They do roll up the sidewalks around 11pm, but there are plenty of nightlife spots on the sister resorts. The pools are amazing as is the beach. Service, well what can I say, well above expectations. Worth every penny.

I have nothing to say but good about this place. The food was delicious and unlimited. The drinks were great, the service was good on the beach. There was no end to the beach chairs, always available somewhere on the beach. The beach was beautiful. The entire place was immaculate, very clean. I loved seeing the staff squirt hand sanitizer on every guests hands at the buffet. The staff were very accommodating, we initially had a room far from the beach(which we had requested by the beach through  [... read more]trip central) and requested to be moved and they willingly moved us to a new room closer to the beach. I recommend the barbq and the Italian restaurant. they were fabulous. The entertainment was great. If I had to say one thing I didn't like, the mattress in our room was as hard as plywood but we didn't complain, cant expect everything to be perfect. We would definitely return to this place for sure.

Every positive review you read about this place is true. I cannot remember anything negative. All the bars close at 11 pm, but if you want to party more the disco opens then. Book a la cartes early, they are worth it.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Nice resort

Very large resort and well kept. Grounds are lovely and rooms clean. Hotel was very accommodating changing our room as we were not happy with the first, which we appreciated. . Buffet is huge and food very fresh we were impressed . Restaurants were good except for French. Don't book this one it is not good. As a whole I would recommend this if you like large resorts, but be prepared for very slow service. Very relaxing, quiet, clean, good staff and friendly. The only thing I didn't like was the that we paid for an evening with the Tenors but the Tenors were only there for 45mn and one of them was missing...$160 for 45mn performance is way overpriced!

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Punta Cana - April 2016

The trip to Punta Cana was my daughters choice which I was very excited to experience this trip with her. We had a number of issues with our room when we arrived. Door wouldn't open after multiple attempts over the course of two days but the staff was great. Finally relocated to another room and no further access issues. The room wasn't as clean as previous hotels, but we didn't spend that much time in our room anyway. Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Unforgetable Anniversary at a wonderful resort

We went to celebrate our 8th anniversary and it was my husband's first time in Mexico and we really loved the resort The rooms were always clean and we had a great service in all restaurants and wherever we went. Everybody works so hard to make your vacation an unforgettable one. We took the trolley to the beach many times and we hardly waited more than 5-8 minutes . We had an amazing dinner on our anniversary celebration. We had a romantic grand dinner with rose pedals and candles listening to the tenors. It was really unforgettable and very romantic. We were told that the special dinners are done every 2 weeks so we were glad to be there for one. The Sian Kaan buffet was great as well, so much variety and they have a different theme every night so lots to choose from. Beach area is very nice. A bit shallow but nice with fish swimming around you. We spent time at the Sian Kaan beach area and Akumal. They were both nice and bar service was great in either area. For lunch, we tried the Akumal buffet, which was good , the snack bar at akumal area and we tried the paella at the beach area at Sian Kaan. Overall, there were so many choices and all had great service. Room- We loved our room, 42112, it had a very nice private balcony and it was located by the pool with the entertainment. It was just perfect for us and very well decorated. Overall there is so much to say about the service and the resort .We were truly amazed by everything and will go back on our 10th anniversary. Cant wait.

Grounds were nice, resort is huge. We stayed in the Ambar section close to beach, service is slow. No lobster in any of the specialty restaurants even though they advertise ``Norwegian Lobster`` - their excuse being is that Caribbean lobster is banned this time of year, but what does that have to do with Norway.

Nice resort, Amazing grounds food very good with lots options at the buffet and the restaurants. Loved having access to A La Cartes every night. Book as soon as you arrive! They can fill up quickly! Good options with pools, quiet if you want active areas if you want. Cooler than the beach and the other resort pools , which was nice after a few hours in the sun. Loved the Jungle idea lots of trees and shaded areas or sun if you wanted. We were surprised coffee was not very good. The Beach was awesome! At Siann Kaan nicer that the others! some areas, at the other resorts, walking the sand was rough.. I would bring water shoes next time Snorkeling right on the property too! don't even need Snorkeling Gear... the fish are just there! Bring your own snorkeling gear... lots of windy days they wont give u equipment on red flag days.... but in the roped off areas it is very safe... so have your own to have more time to snorkel. bring a water camera! Lots of Entertainment and things to do at the Beach and in the Evening. Rooms Quiet and comfortable clean... surprised there was not a couch and just chairs in sitting area... but we were Seldom in the room. Service was good an the staff nice too .. and mostly helpful. I might mabey learn some more spanish terms so we can converse a little more, would make things a little easier! We had a great trip Bahia is a good Chain. We stayed here and 6 years ago in Punta Cana... and not Cookie Cutter at all like i thought they would be! Would definetly recommend this property! We are glad our friends recommended it..Oh we took a shuttle on our own back to the airport... split with another couple well worth staying at the resort a few hours more and having a relaxing breakfast before heading back home.

We were there for our friends wedding! Resort was absolutely beautiful! The staff were amazing especially the General Manager Maria! Food was amazing with a large selection! Pools and grounds were top notch! Everything you'd want in a resort! Would highly recommend and we will return!

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great Time! Great Value!

We had a group of 11 people and had a great time at this resort. There were really no complaints from anyone in our group. The entire complex is near the ocean so the views are great. Our number one compliment was the food, great buffet with tons of variety. The gourmet a la carte was also excellent. Our expectations were not high due to the excellent deal we got as a group, it was worth every penny. The shops in the strip area were great during the day as well. The resort is 20 years old or so I believe so don't expect a new complex. Everything is well maintained and extremely clean at this resort. The staff are excellent and make you feel welcome wherever you go. The side pools are a good option if you want peace and quiet away from the main pool. Overall I would recommend this resort and would go back.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Great Resort

This resort exceeded expectations in all areas. Service was excellent throughout the resort and always with a smile. The food was varied and many choices with buffet selections changing daily. Quality of food and drinks was very good and included international liquor. Accommodations could use a renovation as they are looking a bit dated and tired. Housekeeping service was average with turn down service provided only one night of the seven we stayed. Beach was very nice and clean and the drink se [... read more]rvice was a nice bonus. The water at the beach was too shallow caused by the man-made reefs, however without the reefs the ocean is much too rough to swim in safely. Overall, would highly recommend the property. You will not be disappointed.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Fantastic resort!

A group of 15 ranging in age from 20 to 61 stayed in April 2016 and everyone loved the resort. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is fantastic and the food is delicious. The drinks are great too. There are several pools, some quiet and some with music and activities. There's plenty of loungers and shady spots both at the pool and on the beach. Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Beautiful resort

The hotel was beautiful, the staff was awesome. The beach was beautiful and had lots of seating and I like they're no savings seats policy which is how it should be everywhere. I went scuba diving just off the beach where they have a pretty cool shipwreck about 300 metres offshore. A few things I didn't like was they had one bar in the lobby open after 10ish which could get crowded and make it impossible to get a drink and also that the beer in the fridge wasn't stocked daily. Good music, good nightclub atmosphere. The rooms were clean, food was good, and drink selection was excellent.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Perfect resort!

Resort is huge! Food was great, staff was friendly, I would go back in a heart beat! We stayed until he golden sweet which included 24/7 room service and private check in/out. If I were to stay again I would definitely stay in the Royal golden section, the extra cost is worth it!

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Our first time

Since it was a mother and daughter trip we wanted no surprises. After looking for several weeks we decided on the Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal. It was the best week we could have hoped for. Everything was perfect and the staff (which make or break the experience) was amazing. There are so many resorts to choose from and its really hard to decide especially if your new to the all inclusive vacations. You won't be disappointed.
