Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Beautiful, clean resort!

This has been one of the best hotels I have been to so far. The room was bigger and better than i expected. Very spa like bathroom. The only con i would say was the fact that they misplaced our luggage upon arriving to the resort and the rooms weren't ready for some of us. They did find our luggage shortly after. All in all it was kept very clean and was a great stay overall :) I would def recommend it.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Amazing Resort!

Excellent service! Wonderful staff! The rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. Lots of towels. Room comes with a fridge and a variety of drinks. The food was delicious at the buffet and at the a la carte restaurants. Lots of entertainment and activities. Easy to walk or shuttle to get around the resort. Can't wait to go back again.

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Nice Resort

We liked the hotel.The grounds were beautifully maintained.The restaurants were extremely nice,although the service in the main buffet restaurant was seriously below standards .We loved the beach restaurant ! Staff there were very attentive.During our stay they removed the wicker tables and chairs and painted them white.It smelled absolutely horrible during the last few days of our stay.The entertainment was also not the best. We loved the beach and the food and our room.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Relaxing Resort

We stayed April17-24th weather was over cast most days and heavy rain 4 nights.The grounds were very clean and cleaned everyday. The beach was clean, lots of seaweed, however we had rough seas the first 4 days. The breakers in the water are less to be desired to look at, and you loose the breaking wave sound you come to enjoy while staying on a beach resort. The food at the lunch/ beach location was a hit everyday ! Amazing soups We found the private pools on the far ends of the resort to be the best, very clean and the bars there very fast and real frozen drinks not out of the slushy machines. The main pool was very cloudy and dirty. We were at this pool for the first day and wouldn't go back to it once we found the other pools at the end of each end of the resort. The rooms were standard rooms. The maids were great and we always had enough towels for all of us. However I did have my scuba mask and snorkel go missing from our room. :( we did the jeep safari with Marco Polo and it was amazing! The highlight of this trip was on our last day the scuba guys came around and had 3 hours open that afternoon and offered a 3 hour boat trip to us for a fair price, we saw the coast of San Juan and Samara. We snorkels and saw a cave but the seas were to rough to go in it, we saw new Villas being built. We went on a white sand beach then we went down a canal to a village where the scuba guy lives, he took us into the village where we saw local ppl go about their day and we bought pizza from a boy on the road who went back and got us 2 more pizza's they were amazing or we were just hungry from not eating lunch and having a few drinks on the boat. Over all great trip for all of us Over all nice resort

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: A little piece of paradise

Everything was wonderful. Clean, staff was super friendly and helpful. Everyone genuinely care to make your vacation as memorable as they can. You can tell they truly enjoy their jobs. I will be going back to this resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Amazing but not for singles

Beautiful hotel and grounds, great people and food. Evening entertainment could be better as there is no dancing outside at all and the few that are in the lobby are geared towards older folks. A lot of weddings and couples. I do not recommend for singles. I encourage management to create some dancing for the 30-40 year olds outside a few times a week. Bars close at 10:30pn accept for the snack bar which has no atmosphere. This is a complex with 4 hotels. Tulum is somewhat more active and has a  [... read more]better bar but overall, by 11pm all is shut down in all the hotels here. Only the village square something open: the tiny disco which is mostly for 20 year olds.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: An ok but not amazing time

This resort was big and had a lot of activities to offer (from mini golf to dancing to archery, etc.). The beach was very rocky and the food was good but not amazing. The entertainment staff was good and very friendly but everyone seemed a little money hungry. The resort also allows locals to come in on weekends which makes the resort busy (longer waits to get drinks and food) and barely any pool side chairs available.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Fantastic Spot !!!

This being our 3rd time there, twice as Don Pablo guest & now that they have their own Hotel, they met all expectations!!! Staff friendly, food excellent, new pool Fantastic, New Beach needs a little work, as the sand is Fantastic, but the view is lacking.....

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Very nice resort!

The grounds were beautiful and nicely maintained. The views were spectacular! The hotel was clean and neat, room maintenance was timely and good. The hotel corsierge was immediately responsive to our requests to change light bulbs and provide us with robes. The food was very very good, varied, colorfully decorated, and hearty. Lots of fish, legumes, pasta, veggies, fruits, fruit juices, and sweets on a daily basis. Special theme nights were also very good, especially the Dominican night. The entertainment (animacion) was quite good, especially the Michael Jackson show (a true channeling of Michael Jackson!) Beaches were good but with a little bit of difficulty finding chairs and shade in the main beach. We did not use the pool at all because it was extremely crowded with the influx of a large group from Newfoundland who arrived with two bands (very good by the way), and there, all the chairs were taken as well. The Spanish lessons were fun! The animacion team was very nice and fun, too, especially Miguel, who is a great natural dancer! Overall, it was a very nice experience and I would go back.

Very relaxing resort with great service. Food was adequate but more A la carte restaurants needed. Rooms had ample space and were very clean. Buffet had theme nights for dinner which help break up the regular selection on the buffet.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing

been there our 5th time and still would go back. Love the enclosed swimming area. The workers were pretty noisy at 5 in the morning while setting up the infinity pool. Alot of workers on their cell phones. The snack bar is not what it use to be and if you leave early in the morning for a flight......continental is at the entertainment stage and not at the snack bar.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: COBA a Good Resort

Front desk staff were polite. Check in process was quick 3-5 minutes. Check out 1-2 minutes. The grounds were well maintained with plenty of flora and fauna. The resort is very family friendly. There is a kids water park, a quiet pool and a main pool were the animation staff conduct various activities and games should you wish to participate. The rooms were a bit dated, however, it was very clean, the bed, pillows were perfect for us, and the shower had good water pressure. The maid service was  [... read more]good. At times she made decorations or animals from the towels which she left on the bed. The mini bar was replenished every day with a few cans of beer and water and soft drinks. The main buffet had a very good variety and selection of food, even the pickiest eater will not go hungry. My wife and I ate at the Japanese, Italian, Mediterranean and Brazilian a la cart restaurants, all good. There isn't a beach at the COBA, however, if you wanted to go to the beach, you would need to take a 3 minute trolley ride which comes every 5 minutes and go to the Tulum part of the resort.The nightly entertainment shows start at 9:00 pm. We enjoyed the Micheal Jackson show and the magic show. They were not Vegas caliber, however, very good. In my opinion, the resort provides good value for your money and I would recommend it to family and friends.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Wonderful resort.

Although we were a little disappointed at first, as we stayed at the Grand Bahia Principe Esmeralda, in Punta Cana in previous years, but we had a wonderful time. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Because we had a standard room, they did not have a coffee maker or iron in the rooms. They are only offered in the suites. Rental of these are not an option. Also the safe had to be rented. All in all I would recommend this resort as a very reasonable price for an all inclusive vacation. Food was great and the staff were friendly defiantly would go back. It is more of a relaxing spot but if you are looking to party one of the other resorts attacked to the chain has a 18 plus pool. Amazing beach to swim or walk.

The hotel and staff were outstanding. They attended to every need and would not tell you it was not available for any enquiry or need we had. The food was very delicious and there was a wide variety to choose from. With all al-a-carts available there was no reason whatsoever for anyone to go hungry. The buffets were fabulous and it you wanted something different the chef was there to cook it for you. Overall just a fabulous hotel and that made it a worth while vacation and we would not hesitate to return or recommend to others. A five star in our eyes.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Great resort!!

I most definitely enjoyed my week long stay at the Grand Bahia Principe Bavaro. I travelled with my girlfriend and two other couples (all in our 20s early 30s)The resort was impeccable and clean. The food was very good with a lot of variety at the buffet. The entertainment was also on point during the evenings at the lobby with good service from the bartenders and waitresses. On  [... read more]the more negative side of things, but then again it wasn't a big deal. On our first morning there, as told by the representative, we went to book our A la Cartes restaurant. Unfortunately for us, management overbooked their A La Cartes and we could only pick from 3 different restaurants with 21:00 seatings. The Italian was good, the Teppanyaki was good, (even though we were seated with 6 8yr olds who's parents were enjoying themselves at another table...) we were booked to go to the beach bbq but didn't go because we didn't feel like eating at 21:30. Good thing that the buffet was amazing! Before booking to this resort, I was aware that it wasn't an adults only resort. That being said, at some point, I thought it was a kids only resort. They invaded the pool area, jumping on our chairs and crawling between us. The resort is so big that I believe that they could have adults only pools like most of the resorts I've been to and that would make everyone stay a bit more peaceful. Overall it's one of the best resorts I've been to and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Second time at Sian Ka'an-loved it all over again!

Returned in March 2016 for the luxury experience we remembered and were not disappointed. New beach area was nice and the shuttles seemed to run more often. For a quieter experience, ask for a room near the sushi bar/quiet pool area.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Food (5 Star) Room (Superior?? 1 Star)

The grounds and pool areas are beautiful and well maintained. The buffet and restaurants (Italian and Brazilian recommended) were exceptional, offering a variety of foods (highlight of our trip). The pools were wonderful as well as plenty of chairs and shaded areas. We spent most of our time at the "relax pool" which had spotless restrooms and a bar (Franco the bartender - highlight of our trip as well). If you are a beach person, this is the resort for you as the pools are not large enough to accommodate the size of the resort. The accommodations and front desk day manager was a whole different story. We arrived at the resort about 1:00 pm Thursday to find out that we had no room. They could not seem to find a room for a full 2 week period. He asked us if we were there for 7 or 10 days and we responded that our reservation was for 14 days. He apologized and said that he did not have an available room but we could check back with him after we had lunch. We heard later from the WestJet rep that the resort was overbooked and they were asking people in the lobby if they would consider relocating to Bahia Cayo. We were finally assigned a room at 3:30 pm and realized that we had to be shuttled there as it was at the far end of the resort. When we initially booked this resort we were told we would be close to the ocean (Building Three) as the Tripcentral agent indicated that there was no oceanfront rooms due to layout of the villas. We ended up at Building Eleven on the 3rd Floor (no elevators). My husband has a knee injury (torn MCL) which was a concern at the time of booking but we were told that Building 3 was only two levels and we could request bottom level if we needed to. By this time it was so late in the day, we decided to see if this was feasible and try to make the best of it for now and enjoy what was left of the day. Went down to the pool area at the other end of the resort to get towels (15 minutes walk) only to be told there was no towels available. Instead of making the trek back to our room, we waited 1/2 hour at the towel booth for our towels. No chairs available at the large pool so we trekked back to the "relax pool" by our building and finally relaxed in the pool with a drink before it closed down. After spending a full day at Building 11 we realized this was not doable (due to stairs and walking distances to restaurants and facilities). We decided to request another room which is a first for us. The day manager indicated he would try to find a room on a lower level and closer but did not expect to have one until late afternoon (Saturday). He asked that we check back with him after lunch on Saturday. They found us a room but could not assign it to us until the day Manager was available. We were finally assigned a room 4:00 (building 7 - lower level) and told we need to relocate immediately if we wanted the room. We said we needed to pack up our belongings and would be moved out in 1/2 hour. We then trekked back to Building 11 to pack and received a call from the day Manager as soon as we entered our room asking if we were ready to move. He also threatened that if we did not do this quickly, the room would need to be re-assigned to someone else that was waiting. We were out of the room within the promised 1/2 hour only to arrive at a lower level room where 1) the patio door lock was broken which affects the sensor for the air conditioner, 2) they were still cleaning and setting up the room, 3) they were replacing a leg on the bed and 4) the housekeeping supervisor was indicating that the room was for three people and could we wait for another day for a different room. More accommodation highlights: 1. 20 to 30 flea like bugs in our bathroom daily 2. Could not shower, bathe or go to the washroom without coming out with a welt or spend 20 minutes killing them off so we were not swatting them while we slept. 3. Blood smear (assuming from a dead bug) on the floor for our entire stay 4. Decaf coffee only (4 days of our stay) 5. No creamer or sugar (6 days of our stay) I could go on but I am tired of typing. In my opinion, I will never return to a Bahia. We made the best of the situation and have never experienced this type of service in any of our travels (and there are many).

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Beautiful bar terrace with excellent view

A beautiful resort, a bit challenging if one does not have a room in the main building, with an excellent terrace. The beach may not appeal to those looking for those endless sandy beaches with (most often) waves crashing on it, but it is a relatively small and calm bay. We wish we had more sunny days to enjoy it. Food was very good, excellent we would say, especially for those looking for some kind of 'mediterranean' food with lots of vegetables; not so much into the 'grilling' stuff. Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Clean resort

The hotel is clean but difinitely lots of room for improvement. I was VIP with a royal golden package and feel that this upgrade didn't really make any difference. At the bar in the lobby the selection of drinks were minimum or hardly no selection what so ever. In the lounge for Royal Golden members the selection was hardly anything. As for room service , their was no menu in our room to choose for room service and the menu was basically salads, nachos , hot dogs or hamburgers. It seemed that when you ask for something or any help what so ever , the staff would always say give me a few seconds and thrn you would be waitingmore thsn minutes. They certainly were in no hurry to be prompt with customer service. I have tried this resort and will never go back there again!
