Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Wonderful holiday

Stayed at the Playa Cayo Santa Marie for a full week of fun in the sun. Loved the beach, especially the early morning exercises and thoroughly enjoyed the pool in the afternoon. Going again soon, yeah

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Nice Resort and wonderful people

This was a very nice resort. The staff were amazing and very helpful. My elderly mother and her friend were very well taken care of while on the beach. The resort is geared to families, great for people with children and mature adults. Lots of variety of places to eat and place to walk as it is a large resort. The water is the clearest I have ever seen. This is my 10th time to Cuba but the first to Cayo Santa Maria and I would definitely recommend to those that want rest and relaxation.

Memories Paraiso: Amazing Resort!!!

My husband and I went to this resort in June, 2014 for our 30th Anniversary. We had an awesome time. The rooms were very spacious it could have easily accommodated four people. Our rooms were situated about 10 mins from the main lounge area & the cafeteria, but there were always carts shuttling us back & forth. The food was good, there was always a variety. The beach was absolutely beautiful there were days where the water was crystal clear if you dropped a ring you could pick it up from the water. It was amazing!! I found the Cuban people very friendly & every individual that I came in contact with spoke English we were able to hold conversations, that made our stay even more memorable. Viva! Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Very nice resort

I am writing this review as a solo traveller. I did alot of reading reviews and have to say that I was not disappointed with this resort. My room was clean thanks to Cesar and Yeny. They not only cleaned my room, but left me notes each day. Made me smile :). The grounds were beatiful and well kept. The pools were very clean and the food was delicious. The lobby bar was very relaxing each night as they had music and some entertainment before the "big show". This is a very large resort and may not [... read more] be good for travellers that have a hard time getting around, even the beach had a drop. I on the other hand, appreciated the size considering that I wanted some quiet time and felt there was always somewhere to go to get away from the small children. The staff were pretty nice, however, felt that I was troubling the beach bartenders. Not the friendliest, but overall, the buffet staff, lobby bar and snack bar staff were very kind. I shed a tear when leaving! lol! as the beach was heaven on earth. I would definately recommend this hotel to others.

Memories Paraiso: My trip

The place was beautiful, beach was clean and beautiful, rooms were clean, service was good... Food wasn't the best , lots of walking. I would recommend this place to my friends. Most of the staff was very kind and friendly . Overall I would go back to the same place

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Cozy resort, great time!

The resort needs some maintenance, but we still had a great time. Not too big Which made it more attractive. Very far from the city, that make us feel isolated, but the activities and the personnel were fantastic. No free wi-fi.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Great Vacation had here - highly recommended

Staff were great and friendly always available to meet our every need and request. The resort was clean and neat. So many choices for dining, we didn't get to eat at all of them, however the food was very good. Room was large, bright and clean. ours was on the 3rd for and got the sun in the afternoon, so we could sit on our balcony after the beach and before dinner enjoying the evening sun and a drink. The beach was great, catamarans available everyday, beach activities for those who want them and quiet spots for those who don't. The gym/fitness centre was well equipped and never over crowed, on site staff to help if required. Overall a great resort with everything we wanted for our week away, I highly recommend this one.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Loved the resort! Hated the bus ride to get there!

Did NOT want to come home!! Loved the whole experience. The staff is fantastic, and friendly as well the food was amazing. My daughter and I were treated VERY well and I would recommend this trip to anyone. As a matter of fact, I WILL be returning next year.

Sol Cayo Santa Maria: great time

ExamIple: What did you think about  this hotel? (grounds, public areas, rooms, dining, features, etc.) I truly enjoyed this hotel and I would recommend it to anyone. The dancing crew is totally amazing and very very friendly......I will definately go back in the near future

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Amazing Place, Amazing Cubans

We stayed at the Grand Villa room at Iberostar early June and it was fantastic. We were at the Royal Hideaway in 2010/11 prior to Iberostar taking over. Remember, you come to Cuba for the beach, beautiful people, relaxation and remarkable gift of nature. Iberostar and Royalton are the best hotels in Santa Maria. We will be back again in the fall.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Stunning beach - Excellent location

I found the Melia Cayo Santa Maria to be quite good in some area such a the beach loacation which by far is the best beach I have been to in Cuba. This is our 4th trip & the beach was superb! The food & air conditining of the hotel are the only drawbacks. The air conditioning compared to other hotels is poor & it was at a minimal level & the food quality is fair compared to other previous hotels even the Melia Cayo Guilerma at Cayo Coco has better quality.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful property, amazing beach

A beautiful well maintained full service resort. Clean and modern amenities. Great for couples, but also families. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food options are plenty at the buffet and made to order food is excellent. The beach is stunning: sand like powder, turquoise blue waters, free Hobie Cat and kayak rides daily, can walk for miles - plenty of shaded chairs. Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Wonderful Resort

My husband and I had the privelidge of going to this resort for our 25th anniversary. The rooms were nice and big with lots of storage room. The beds were very comfy. The air conditioning worked well. The food was very good. We are at the bbq grill every day at lunch time. What a treat. There were so many options from the grill to the salad bar and the menu. We ate at the Japenese restaurant which was quite enjoyable. The people who work at this resort are very friendly and provide great service. There is no language barrier here. There is a market right next door to the resort which is nice to visit every day. It changes daily. Overall, it was a great trip.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Quiet and luxurious

If you need a quiet getaway, this is the place.The surroundings are beautiful, rooms comfortable and well kept, very good food. I did not quite understand the concept of having a butler, so could not take advantage of this service. We did not appreciate the fact that we did not get to pick the hour at which we ate dinner, often way too early, and then being rushed through our meal. We found the menu selection very slim, and would have appreciated just going to the buffet certain evenings. Melia Las Dunas: Great resort!

Beach is amazing. I like the separation between adults swimming pool and family swimming pool. Nice rooms, clean and spacious. Overall well kept resort, great service. I like that there is a bank open during the day to get your pesos.

Memories Paraiso: great beach

Overall I would go back to this resort again. This was the first time my wife and I traveled to this part of Cuba, and as far as the beach goes, it surpasses all other locations we have been to. The only downside of traveling to this great location is the 1.5 hour bus drive to get there. We traveled with another couple who like us just wanted to relax at the beach and pool, so we were not interestd in doing any excursions which was probably good due to the fact you were isolated from the remaind [... read more]er of the Island. The resort was in good condition and kept very clean. We traveled there from May 8th to the 15th so it was later in their season, which was evident because they had half of their resort shut down, but still didn't affect any service we received as this is one of the larger resorts on Cuba. Overall I would say the food was good for a resort in Cuba. (although we did not care for the food or experience at the pool side restaurant. I would recomend walking the extra distance to the main buffet as the food was better and more to choose from) A la Cartes were good, great meals to choose from and tasty! I'm not sure I would go back to Cuba this late in the year, as the mosquitos became quite plentiful as the sun went down. I had a coworker stay at the same place two weeks before me and he did not have the same experience with the mosquitos. The drink selection was OK, but not as good as what we experienced when we stayed in Varadero 2 years previous. As far as entertainment goes, this resort could improve. Any other experience for us in Cuba at the resorts we stayed at seemed to have better shows at night. (It might not have helped that because the theatre is so open to the outside that we were preocupied with the mosquitos. yes we used a bug spray, but it didn't seem to be very effective) Only one night out of the seven we were there they had a live band that played, this was probably the best entertainment they had. I found the staff very friendly at this resort as I have at any others we satyed at in Cuba.

Needs an update,,,I your a family a good place. Rooms musty sheets ,,,,staff are great, Barbeque good everyday. Good spa on site, beautiful beach .....very hot in July stay away, Very good medical clinic near by

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Great value for a very good stay

It's a long ride from the airpot. We did really enjoy the resort. It was clean, the grounds are very pretty and the beach was beautiful. Service in the bars and restaurants was outstanding and we thought highly of most of the food served. Our lower score would go to the a la cartes; the Japanese restaurant was good but too long for service ; we did not enjoy the Seafood restaurant..... Lobster was on the menu but it was overcooked..... Ruining our dinner.... Again, service in this a la carte was [... read more] slow. My maintenance request was not taken care of during our stay; on the first day, I put in a request to replace a burned out bulb in the bathroom. It was not done during our week-long stay. I suppose this request was low priority to maintenance staff but I did not enjoy my daily grooming in a poorly lit room. Also, I left my beach dress on the beach chair one day..... Every day I asked to check the lost and found; staff just said not found without even checking (unless I pushed them).

Memories Paraiso: Great resort'

Great resort, amazing beach!! Food is ok- good for Cuba but not comparable to places like Mexico.somewhat clean. But great resort for the price! Service is great, and pools are always clean! The resort is big so you don't feel like there's many people on it. Would recommend this!

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort

The resort itself was very well mapped out. Everything was easy to find. Clean and comfortable rooms. Very polite staff. Food was what you can expect for Cuba. Great resort and will be back soon. Made great friends with locals.
