Melia Las Dunas: Great holiday in an aging resort

We stayed at this resort in June, 4 of us ranging in age from 19 to 57. Beach was breathtaking, pool was beautiful but signs of aging all around the resort. Food wasn't as good as other Cuban resorts we had stayed at previously. Staff was courteous and friendly but we could tell it was off-season, some restaurants not open, grounds not as spotless as we expected. Evening entertainment was somewhat tedious, we expected more. This has the potential to be a lovely resort, but it needs a serious injection of money to bring it back up to 4 star standards.

Memories Paraiso: Impessive resort

Food was good , drinks wherent the best the drinks tend to get too strong near 2 but service was good, clean room Awesome service, good activities, good resort for children. Entertainment could of been better,

Memories Paraiso: Not a resort I'd go to again..

First of all I'd like to say that Cuba is beautiful. The beaches are absolutely breath taking! The resort however is probably one of the worst resorts I've ever been to. The rooms were dirty, especially the bathrooms. The bedding was never changed, only made every day. The pool was slimey. Not sure what the pool boy actually did every morning? The food was plain and the same every day. I don't always want to eat French fries, hamburgers and hotdogs... Where's the fresh seafood? The music by the  [... read more]pool was someone's burnt cd which played the same 4 songs over, and over, and over again. The over all resort wasn't clean and the floors were sticky. And lastly the weather in April (although we were assured would be fine) was stormy and way too closed to the change in seasons. We stayed in Cuba for 1 week and the first 4 days we witnessed thunder, lightening, crazy gusts of wind and lots and lots of rain. The week before we had gotten there (the last week of May) apparently had been beautiful. Go figure. I will never be going back. Live and learn.

Memories Paraiso: Amazing Staff

Our stay at Memories was excellent. The staff are just so helpful, and friendly. They go above and beyond to help you with whatever you need. The resort was very clean, rooms clean, pools lovely. Beach is to die for, water sparkling blue.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Lots of pools, landscaped grounds, great beach

...but the entrance to the buffet dining room is a plain double-door, down a long walkway and well camoflagued. Lots of food selection, several chef stations, but sit close to a service station for drinks, clearing plates, etc. because it's usually understaffed. Garibaldi (Italian) is the best a-la-carte restaurant of the three available; excellent service, good meals, great presentation. Red Panda (Oriental) food is poor, service is slow, presentation is mediocre.

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: we werent hhappy

Food was not good qwolity, air condition was not work well, very noisy with no control of temp. Service staff of drinking water did not supply us water every day we had to find them and ask water and one guy said "we give only one battle a day" but it was a family!

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful Resort, Like a rose (Get it?)

Awesome adults only resort! First off, the resort is beautiful and the beach is one of the best I have seen and I have been around. Aqua blue water, white power sand, the most friendly Cuban people you could ever meet! Lots and lots of straw umbrellas! You don't need to go out early and save them with a towel. The beach guys will brush them off and setup them up. We did not tip daily unless there was special service. We got them good at the end of the week. But not at a snap of the fingers. Everything in Cuba is slow like you would expect. It might take them 1 or 2 hours to get back to you. Sometime through the week they setup the bathtub with rose petals for the ladies. Nice touch but not much of a big deal really. Room: Nice but we had three days with no room cleaning service. Had to call for towels, toilet paper, etc. Complained nicely but nothing happened until we made a stick about it. Then two girls showed up asap and sorted it out. After that smooth sailing. They tried to male it up with a bottle of champagne and flowers. Ok but to little too late. Food: I thought it sucked but that's par for the course in Cuba. There were some bright spots in the the a la carte restaurant. I thought it was a little better than the food in the Dominican. The guys on the beach, run to get your drinks. Anything you want. The drinks in the main bar (Air Cond'd) are the best tasting. The make coffee, capachino, latte, etc all great. Cuba beers and good and the mixed drinks are great. The pool and beach bar are not as good. But the bartenders are really nice and will do anything for you. Rinse out your Bubba, thermos cup, etc. and not expect a tip. We tipped are the end of the week. All in all, for +5 star I expected better food and no hickups but that travelling.

The ressort is beautiful the rions are big and clean large choice of siwimingpools and the beach is beautiful a paradise i récomend This hôtel and people are very Nice always smiling We spend a super vacation

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Nice and clean resort

We enjoyed it very much! The beach was beautiful. The ocean was superb! I'm not one to go in the ocean. But, this was an exception. Food was good, my daughter and I didn't have any problems. My husband and my stepson are very specific with their food. But they managed and they were fine with it. People are friendly. The only down part was a specific waitress in the lobby lounge that had attitude. I didn't appreciate that very well. Memories Paraiso: amazing beach

the hotel was nice.The people very friendly.Food was was good except at the Italian Restaurant,food was over cooked and not worth eating.The beach was amazing.The only complaint would be lack of sun shades.The beach bar and snack bar were good.the staff very friendly.had an excellent trip and would definitely go back to relax on the beautiful beach.

Melia Las Dunas: Lovely resort....way too much smoking-Everywhere

Lovely property, pools, beach. Customer service ladies were very helpful. Restaurants were pretty good.. Enjoyed the food and beer selection at the Beer Garden ... Ice cream shop next door for kids... All good! The only complaint we have is that there were no smoking restrictions anywhere. Beach and pool areas, walkways all littered with butts, smokers totally inconsiderate of non-smokers and child areas.... Would light up as soon as 1 foot left the restaurant.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Resort

Beautiful resort. Friendly people . Very good food. Drinks were good. Only complaint is check in process resort can do a lot better. Too long too unorganized. Not comfortable with them taking our passports off with a number of other passports for 20-30 min.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Very impressive resort

The resort had everything desired for a relaxing vacation- excellent entertainment and food, beautiful beach and pools, market and spa within walking distance, quality accommodations and friendly, helpful staff.

Memories Paraiso: Nice Resort for the Price

The beach in this area is better than Varadero. I stayed in the standard room and it was fine, nothing fancy, it's not like you spend a lot of time in your room when you have those beautiful beaches. The complex was fairly large so there was a lot of walking but you could always catch a golf cart. The food was typical resort fair for Cuba but there was always a good selection and you can usually find something you like. Melia Las Dunas: Great vacation

Accommodations were excellent, staff were wonderful and the beaches were breath taking. Food was not the greatest but there was a large variety so you never were hungry. Nightly shows were entertaining.

Memories Azul Beach Resort: very hospitable

Food was great as were the staff. We felt welcomed and valued. The beach was amazing and we were very happy with the day trips. Sometimes the wait at the bar for drinks was a little long, however the staff seemed to be doing their best to accommodate

Melia Las Dunas: We love the Melia resorts...visited MLD twice!!

Lobby and public areas are well kept. The lobby bar is great entertainment in the evenings. Great place to have fancy coffee drinks. Friendly bartenders and wait staff. Rooms are average and very clean. Beach is beautiful and goes on and on for long walks. You can book 3 a la carte restaurants per 7 day stay. Restaurants were fantastic and the buffet was great. Staff get to know you as a regular. There's an adult side and a family side. Not always guaranteed to get a room on the adult side. Appr [... read more]ox 1.5 hr bus ride from airport which is enjoyable as you drive through the residential areas.

this was our 4th time in Cuba different place each time but this was by far the best food we have ever experienced in this amazing country, in fact better than many other countries we have been to. We would definitely return any time.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Good service

A great place to stay, friendly customer service, clean environment, not the greatest food but you can find something to eat. Nice beach, clean rooms and wonderful resort. We will go there again if we have a chance.

The rooms were clean and spacious, wonderful food choices both at the snack bars, buffet restaurants and the individual restaurants and attentive service. Resort had many buildings but retained its small resort service.
