Dreams Riviera Cancun: Fantastic vacation
Resort was great. Staff was so friendly and helpful; hotel grounds were immaculate, covid protocol was diligently followed. Food was excellent. Beach and pool facilities were great. Would not hesitate to return.
Riu Caribe Cancun: Would not go back
The hotel was a very clean, but the staff was not very nice. We found them very rude and VERY disorganized. A lot of Amenities were not available for usage either. Our room was on the first floor, and very loud at night time as well it seemed that construction was happening and started around 7am. Room change was not available as per the staff, the hotel was booked solid. Restaurant booking's were very hard to get and found ourselves having to eat at the buffet all the time. The 24hr sports [... read more]
Barcelo Maya Colonial: First all-inclusive experience
Love this resort! Food was great and service was excellent. Nice room with a comfortable king bed. Will be booking again in the future. I look forward to when there are no Covid restrictions and more entertainment options will be available to experience
Allegro Playacar: Excellent service and beautiful beach!
This is a well maintained resort in a great location. Food was decent and variety was fair. Just wish there was a coffee bar. Rooms/bathrooms are on the smaller side but that's okay as you don't spend too much time in them. The beach area is great with beautiful white sand and all kinds of water activities if you choose.
El Cid Resort Castilla: No complaints
Staff was very good. Rooms were clean but run down. Pool was cold and a little dirty but had lots of seating. Food was good except for the beach lunch bar was awful. Entertainment in lobby was fun but was never able to watch a show because it was at dinner time in the buffet.
El Cozumeleno Beach: Good Time!
This is an older hotel that seems to be just holding on. Ok value for the money. Check in was very slow. Many people we spoke to stood in line for 2 hours or more. They were not offered any refreshments at all and when they went to the bar for something they were denied and told they needed a bracelet. Not very welcoming. Strangely they also took a $150 deposit on a credit card to pay for 'incidentals". Room was clean enough but very dated. we upgraded our room to get a coffee maker and a fr [... read more]
Krystal Ixtapa: Ok
Rooms were nice cleaning staff not to friendly, front desk staff great Have stayed at less star rating hotels that had better food selection and quality. Very Limited variety of drinks at bar. Could only have beer in buffet Activities were good 3/7 days Awesome life guards on beach and pool Was very clean First all inclusive I’ve been too that as soon as manditory check time came no longer can eat or drink even though bus is few hour wait away had to walk off resort to get anything [... read more]
Samba Vallarta: Pretty good.
A relatively small resort. Built in the 1980s, so it is starting to show it age. It's an excellent beach for walking at low tide, flat with firm smooth sand. There's only one pool so it is very noisy with activity people yelling into microphones. The beach is much quieter. The ocean is silty especially near the shore. It's often very good conditions for boogie boarding. If you have a choice do not stay in ground floor rooms because they are very damp. The kitchen adds meat to many food items. [... read more]
El Cozumeleno Beach: Nice Resort
This was my second time to El Cozumeleno, first off it isn't a 5 star, but the staff make you feel like it is. The rooms are huge but are in dire need of a facelift, you can't beat the views as most rooms are Oceanview. The rooms don't have a fridge like most places, but you're really not in the room much. The ala Carte restaurant is a must for dinner, the food is amazing. The buffet is great for breakfast, where you can have your eggs made anyway you want or a nice omelet, you can also order [... read more]
Riu Palace Baja California: Fun time but not 5*s
The Riu Palace Baja California is a good resort but should not be rated 5 stars. We had a great vacation due to meeting great people and the proximity to the marina. Pros - all staff were very professional about the Covid guidelines and the process for the PCR test was easy just expensive, it was nice to visit all 3 sister resorts, proximity to marina, rooms r nice and new, breakfast buffet is good. Cons- definitely not 5 star, the a la cartes we not great and [... read more]

Iberostar Selection Cancun: Super resort!
The resort was beautiful - well maintained, clean, and attentive to ensuring patrons felt safe with regard to Covid. Staff were helpful and friendly and at the ready to make our stay the best. The beach was expansive (especially when compared to neighbouring resorts and their beachfronts). The pools and deck spaces accommodated everyone safely with needed social distancing as well. We enjoyed every moment of our stay!
Planet Hollywood Cancun by Royalton: Little things add up to a disappointment
Breaking out of our Covid shell, we risked a trip to Cancun. It was fabulous! Lots of red tape and documentations as expected- but the sun and ocean were worth it. As far as Planet Hollywood goes- too many little annoying things resulted in me not returning. The staff was absolutely great. Standard rooms were lovely and spacious. BUT: - Lining up for a la carte restaurants (1-2hrs)not my idea of a night out. ( if you were in Diamond/ All star club you could make a reservation) So their †[... read more]
Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: 2nd time still great
We stayed in building 2 again. Close to everything. The rooms all face the Ocean and have a jacuzzi on the balcony. Very basic rooms that are very clean and worked for us. Just in the room to sleep and shower. The Buffet always has a variety and nobody will starve here. I gained 10 pounds. All the restaurants are good but we love the Rodizio. No reservations required at any of the restaurants. Alux was also excellent. You have to get a cappuccino in the morning from Wilberth. Very funny man. Ma [... read more]
Barcelo Maya Colonial: Excellent resort
The resort was very clean and tidy, the grounds, the room, restaurants, lobby everything was always spotless. Employees were always so friendly and ready to help with whatever you need. The food was amazing as well as the entertainment.
Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres: Amazing resort
We went to the Majestic Costa Mujeres for 2 weeks returning Feb 14. The resort was beautiful , people amazing , beach big and clean , food really good . Masks were mandatory to enter restaurants and when up to use the buffets . Every staff member inside and out were masked at all times . About 50% of vacationers wore them in the lobby . They encourage social distancing but vacationers did not always comply . We felt very safe and didn’t worry at all about getting covid . PCR testing booked by [... read more]
Holiday Inn Ixtapa: The resort it's self was great
The Holiday Inn resorts was very nice..clean..Great staff.. Our room was pool/ ocean view,we loved it.. Our first week was great. Half capacity due to covid.. Same protocols as Canada.. Masks..social distancing..hand sanitizer everywhere..which we did our part.. Down side of resort.. Alit of locals arrived (no not prejudice) no social distancing.. no masks( not all but alot) other then restaurants and buffet.. The hotel didn't enforce protocols just put signs up, mind you staff all wor [... read more]
Canto Del Sol: Amazing resort
The hotel was very clean,it was very safe as everyone wore masks, meals were served behind plexi glass, all fruits, desserts, and breads wrapped on individual dishes, distancing at speciality restaurants, staff are excellent, always trying to please you, grounds are beautiful and rooms very clean. I would say they take more precautions there, than some of our Canadians about staying safe.Rena gives the best water aerobics class.
Riu Dunamar: Nothing But Praise!
This resort is amazing. Every encounter with the staff was pleasant! (Note that it matters to me, but every employee, without exception, wore their masks 100% of the time. Even the lifeguard sitting alone). The grounds and the buildings are immaculate. Food was great! This is one place that we said we would actually go back to.
Dreams Huatulco: amazing resort
We loved this resort..Staff very excellent..grounds beautiful..rooms wonderful..food mmm... The only thing is we would not recommend upgrading to Preferred Ocean Front...The whole resort is basically Ocean Front and if you had garden view you are looking at pools and are only few steps from ocean...
