Resort was clean and very well maintained. Beach was beautiful and clean. Had an excellent room over the lagoon. Food was great the service was outstanding. The resort was better then we expected. Highly recommend this resort.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: One of my bad experiences

One of my bad experiences in my life. Room was terrible; customer service was bad - A/C was not working, mini bar was not working even bed was broken (I took few pictures - please contact me) further more lots of mosquito and one thing I must add they serve same food every day. I do not recommend anyone one to go there

Hotel Camino del Mar: Great relaxing time!

The grounds and the rooms need a bit of tender loving care but the rooms are clean, the food is good and the staff at the resort more than make up for the shortcomings.The beach is the best we have seen in all of the resorts we have been to.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Bahama Mama

My friend and I left on May 13, 2015 and returned May 20, 2015. We had excellent weather and no hiccups on our trip to or from the resort. Location: We were located in building 5, floor 2. We were about a 1 minute walk from the beach and 3-5 minutes from any restaurants, the pool, the spa and the lobby. Food: There are several restaurants to choose from ranging from Mediterranean, Asian, Italian and a snack bar with burgers, fries and pizza, etc. The buffet offers an assortment of food choices [... read more] for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I commonly had their pancakes and maple syrup which taste pretty much the same. They also offer eggs done in any style, and sausages, bacon, etc. Didn't eat lunch at the buffet, mostly went to the snack bar since we were by the pool or on an excursion. Dinner at the buffet could be salads, pasta, pizza, potatoes, chicken, etc. NOTE: If you get pasta at the buffet, go to the Pasta station, not the pre-made stuff. Huge difference in taste and texture of noodles. ALSO: Cuban food is not very exciting. I love my food and found I was never looking forward to any meals. But, their pizza, fresh pasta, fries (we brought our own Ketchup to dip), pancakes, bacon and eggs are just fine. Excursion meals I found to be tasty. Entertainment: Every night there was a show put on - the best one we saw was Michael Jackson. Phenomenal! Highly recommend seeing all their shows! During the day there are bunch of activities to be involved in if you are staying at the resort. Examples: volleyball, soccer, yoga. There is also a foam party once a week at the pool during the day. The resort has a club but it is closed, and I believe it will be remaining closed for the foreseeable future. Reasons weren't clear. However, they have a bus to take you to Memories Caribe, 5 minute bus ride, and you can go to their club. We never did. Room: We had 2 double beds in our room, a balcony, a huge wash room, a safe, and a TV (good English channels too). Our maid came every day to clean our room and left cute towel designs on our beds. Excursions: Horseback riding: We walked along the road for about 25 minutes, went on the beach for about 10 and stopped to take a picture. And then went back the same way along the road for 25 minutes. Lots and lots of mosquitoes, bring bug spray. We did this on our first day and got eaten alive. Lots of bites. And your butt hurts if you can't post. Catamaran Cruise: Day trip. During the day we went snorkelling in 2 different locations, they provide snorkelling gear. Amazing coral. So awesome! We had a lobster lunch (other choices were available) and we went to a private beach for a swim and to check out the beach. Pillar Beach: GORGEOUS! MUST GO! We went for the day and got the package that includes a lunch and a long chair, versus just taking the bus. In my opinion, take the package, cause you get there before other buses and get shade. Otherwise, you likely don't get shade and are exposed and at the sun's mercy. We had a great lunch, I got chicken! And spent a lot of time in the water cause it is so beautiful! Spa: We booked two massages and a facial. One halfway through and at the end of our trip. Both were great and very relaxing. Recommended. Age Group: We saw a lot of couples (young and older), families and some groups of friends. Overall, we had a great trip! I'd recommend this resort to anyone!

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Amazing Resort

Arrived on our first trip to Cuba mid April 2015. First of all thumbs up to Can Jet for a Champagne Breakfast at 7:30 AM and a good return trip. We arrived in Cuba at about 10:20 AM and trip from Airport to Pestana Resort is only 15 Minutes. At check in, the room was not ready until about 3:00 PM which was not a big problem as we got a change of clothes and swim wear. Our luggage was secured in a locked room. Had lunch at the beach Buffet Restaurant which is a kind of open air building. The main Buffet Restaurant is extra big with a variety of different foods which was very tasty. Checked into our room at 2:45 PM with a balcony and ocean view. Room and washroom was clean with lots of hot water and friendly maids. Pestana Resort is new and quiet nice with lots of smiling workers. On the negative side it needs some work on landscaping. We did a trip to Moron (Moran) which included a alligator farm, sugar cane factory, lunch at a farm and a fantastic cameraman ride and all for 75 pesos. Over all food, drinks and friendly staff were very good.. Just a reminder bring along lots of tips. By the way a Big Thumbs Up to the Medical Staff. My wife picked up a bug and got sick on Monday at about 11:00 PM. I went to the front desk at 3:00 AM and a Doctor was at our door at 3:10 AM. A couple of days later she was back in the ocean swimming.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Very memorable experience

The hotel was facilities are well-kept, grounds are green and flowers everywhere, the beach very nice and water is crystal blue. Food was great and of course last but not least service was excellent. Kudos to the management and staff of the hotel. They went an extra mile in terms of service and pleasing their guests

Quick check-in. Amazing and friendly staff, great food, good entertainment, and words cannot describe how amazing the beach! Only downfall was the mosquitoes at night time, without repellent there would have been nothing left of me. It was because of the time of year! We lived haha

Melia Cayo Coco: Great resort

The Meliá CayoCoco is a beautiful intimate resort, friendly staff, great food, with good entertainment. The rooms are a little tired, with no privacy on balconies. There is no swim up bar in the pool, and the service at the a LA carte restaurants is very slow.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Fabulous Vacation

The grounds and pool are well kept and the rooms are comfortable. The beach and ocean are absolutely amazing. You can walk for miles on the sand bar when the tide goes out in the afternoon. The drinks are cold and plentiful - bring an insulated cup as the ice melts quickly. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The food is a little bland, but to be expected for Cuba.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great vacation!

Fidel at the front bar made our morning cappuccino just perfect! All the staff were very welcoming. I wish I was still there! I ate fresh donuts every morning, delicious pineapple and papaya. The water in the ocean was so warm! I loved the live music every night. This was my first time and it was my husband's third time at this resort. I recommend this resort. We had a great vacation!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Excellent resort!

We stayed May 13 to May 20 and loved it. It is a 4star, no more or less. The beach is great, even though we had to wake up @ 6AM to reserve chairs. We went 2 times to Playa Pilar which is one of best beaches in Cuba. Food was good, with plenty of choices, we enjoyed the variety of fruits.The coffee was not exactly on our taste so we switched to espresso.Our room, located in the main building, was always clean thanks to Sonia. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Nice relaxing vacation!

My husband and I booked a quick four day stay at this resort. It was just enough for us to decompress and relax! It was our first time to Cuba , and upon talking to other travellers, we were told that the beach at this resort was not as nice as other areas in Cuba. We thought the beach was fantastic! Yes there is a coral reef but there is an open spot to walk into the water avoiding the reef. The water is clear, warm and beautiful white sand bottom. My husband enjoyed all the seafood and is not afraid to try most things. I am more cautious, but was always able to find something to eat. The staff were very accomadating, and couldn't do enough for you. The entertainment was excellent....shows nightly and lots of activities throughout the day too. Our room was clean. We never had an issue with hot water or the water pressure like others stated. Air conditioner was nice and cool! The resort had a mix of families with youngsters , couples, singles and even some solo travellers. It was not a hugh "party resort" although they did take groups into town at night for the disco. I would caution single women of any age. The Cuban men will be hitting on you. You should have fun, they will show you a good time. But some of them will try to win your heart to find a way to come to Canada and then desert you. It's TRUE!! Saw it with own eyes and heard it from heatbroken women. Google it!

Tryp Cayo Coco: Great Time

The hotel needs a little updating...the grounds are kept very well manicured...the beach is amazing...they need to do something about the water that surrounds the hotel - instead of using the spray for mosquitos everyday, maybe add the water to the waterfall under the lobby and also add a few fountains inside the water to keep it moving which would result in no mosquito breeding grounds...

We had a great family vacation at Memories Flamenco Beach Resort. The resort is clean, the staff are very accommodating, service is excellent. The beach is gorgeous (water is crystal clear), the view is exhilarating. The swimming pool is fun for my kids with lots of activities everyday. The night shows are enjoyable as well. Food is super. Can't ask for a better vacation. My family will surely go back to Cayo Coco, Memories Flamenco Beach Resort.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: A Snorkelling Haven for Beginners!

A family of 8 plus 5 friends, ages 11 through 51 had a fabulous 1 week stay at the Memories Flamenco, Cayo Coco, Cuba. My husband, our 11 yr. old and I were in an Oceanview Suite in Building 3, 3rd floor. The rest were in Building 1, 2nd and 1st floor in Oceanview and Gardenview Junior Suite. Everyone was very satisfied with their accommodations. There were a few minor issues with room keys, curtain rods and water pressure however all got resolved promptly. The abundance of fish in the shallow waters at the point on the left side of the beach as well as under the pier, kept us entertained for hours every single day. In addition to seeing thousands of juveniles, we saw many schools of barracuda and grunts, a couple of trunkfish, various needlefish, a very timid squirrel fish, a couple of very shy high hat spotted drums as well as 2 very invasive into-pacific lion fish. Unfortunately we did not see any of my favourite, the toothy parrot fish. The coral structures were not as well established as in the waters of Playa Esmeralda at the Sol Rio de Luna y Mares in Holguin where we vacationed last year. Nevertheless, they were healthy with beautiful colours of green and purple. We found numerous starfish, a very large conch and three sea cucumbers. We also had the joy of shell hunting and were very fortunate to come upon 5 graceful pink flamingos. We enjoyed fabulous cappuccinos at the snack bar. We mostly ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the buffet and found food fresh and of great variety. Guava, a personal favorite, was plentiful. We also ate lunch once at the paella beach grill. Out of the 3 a-la-cartes, the Creole 'Calalu' was the favourite followed closely by the Mediterranean 'Florencia' and lastly, the Italian 'Le Redonda' restaurant behind the 24hr. snack bar. We didn't get to try the Asian but heard great things. None of our party opted for the diamond club however perhaps I would upgrade to it the next time just to enjoy a greater selection of spirits. Overall, all were satisfied with the drink menu. I especially enjoyed one of the 2 house spanish red wines and did not find the need to buy a bottle of other brands available. We enjoyed the pool volleyball, poolside and beach salsa dancing and poolside games but hands down the Foam Party was the most laughs. It would have been great to get to experience it on a daily basis. The greatest disappointment came when upon our arrival we found out that the hotel disco was permanently closed as of a few weeks before we got there. For 10 members of our party, ages 22 to 30, this was a serious bone of contention. If they wanted to get some nighttime dancing they had to go off resort. This excursion came at an extra cost. The nightly entertainment shows in the theatre were brilliant. The staff was superb everywhere you went, from the top to the bottom. Smiles were abundant and service was second to none. Noelia has a great team. Bravo!

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Excellent Resort!

The resort was very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed the pool and beach areas, as well as the lounge and evening entertainment. The food was also very good. The beach had rocky spots but overall good.

The resort still has a newness. Facilities are attractive and in good repair. The food was really good and had something for everyone, even vegetarians! We spent most of our time on the beautiful sandy beach with many lounges available, shade or sun. The best was the staff - friendly, helpful, playful, working together like a family,

I have been to this hotel several times and it never disappoints. We stayed from May 3-10 . It wasn't a great week weather wise because of the heavy rain but we had fun anyway. The rooms are refurbished and kept clean. The food was very good in the buffet and the Mexican...but we didn't care for the Italian. The beach is shallow and calm and the water is so clear....Heaven!! The grounds are always kept so nice and the groundskeepers work very hard everyday. We had a lovely dinner arranged with champagne and a Birthday cake. They had a nice table set up with flowers and special decorations..what a surprise for the Birthday girl.!!!! I have travelled many places but I always find myself back at the Daiquiri because of its charm and wonderful people....it's my home away from home. Can't wait to return......

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Love it, good people

I have been to this resort 6 times, they treat me very good there. You get what you pay for in Cuba. For less than a $1000 I had 10 nights all included. People need to understand Cuba is a poor country. Cayo Coco is about 1 hour away by car from the the mainland. Not everything is available as quickly as might be in other places. Some of the rooms are in need of fixing up. If you expect a lot, go elsewhere and pay $1500 or more. The beach is the best and the staff works hard to please you. The b [... read more]ugs were really bad this time, May is their rainy season. However, it doesn't rain for long and the sun is back out. People should bring insect repellent for sure.The French from Quebec can be very rude at times. BUT this is NOT Cuba's fault.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Was expecting more

This hotel is on a lovely beach. The grounds are nice and it is overall quite clean. When we arrived our first discovery was that the toilet did not flush in our room. However, we were moved quickly and were happy with the location of the new accommodations. The maid service was excellent! Thank you Sonia! Unfortunately the refrigerator did not work and the blow dryer was an antique. We did go to customer service. They were very nice but it took 4 days of going back again and again to have the b [... read more]low dryer replaced. There was no coffee supplied the room as it is in every hotel I have ever been to and one of the balcony chairs was broken. I must thank Raoul in customer service. He was very polite and patient. I have been to Cuba many times and keep going back because I find the people warm, friendly and helpful. It really adds to the experience. I did meet some lovely members of the staff and actually chose the restaurant on the beach every day for lunch because the waitress Medalys and the manager, Alberto, were lovely! We had a very rainy week and sat there a long time each day playing cards. They take care of the guests and keep coming over to check on you, smile and chat and ensure you have what you need. Thank you guys! I will add that I was surprised that some of the other staff were less friendly than I am used to. During that week the senior management of the hotel was visiting and there was a lot of activity around that. Perhaps that was a stressor that influenced the general sense that they did not have time for you. I also noticed the bar lacked certain choices I usually see, especially the pool bar. When you cannot get dark rum in Cuba there is something wrong! In addition, the food options between meals were very few. Hamburgers and hot dogs were the only thing available most days at the pool restaurant and not something I consider a snack! At night after 11pm the food was in the buffet and truthfully, not very enticing. The restaurants and buffet were quite nice for the most part, especially the Mexican and Cuban. The Italian restaurant lacked ambiance and the food was fair. We did do the outing to Pillar beach. I highly recommend it! Gorgeous and the little seafood restaurant is adorable with good food. Cayo Coco beach itself is spectacular! I would go back but sadly, not to this hotel. The positive did not really make up for what was lacking, especially when there are other options.
