Allegria: Italy - Allegria Tour - Transat

Gambrinas Hotel in Rome was nice. Majestic Hotel in Sorentto made us sit with other Tour members that did not speak English, even though they had extra tables. Also made us wait 1 1/2 hours to get our dinner one night, until the other members of our table showed up!! Not happy as it was the birthday of one of our party. Also the staff was not very friendly. No Transat Tour representative to contact. Shuttle services were always late and did not speak very good English. One shuttle driver t [... read more]ook us to 3 different hotels before he got the right one. Tour tried to separate the hotel of our party of 4. We had to contact relatives at home to straighten it out. On one occasion we had to stand on the small shuttle bus, with the aisle full of luggage, to go to the larger bus. The Tours were good but we would have liked to have more time to ourselves afterward. Some we had none at all. One Tour left us in Town with no transportation back to the hotel. It was a 40 minute walk. Weather was excellent. Excellsior Hotel in Amalfi was beautiful with breathtaking views. Food was good and staff was excellent. 'When we were returned to our hotel in Rome, we were told no rooms and they sent us walking for four blocks at midnight pulling our luggage to the hotel they were now sending us to. Baileys hotel was not up to par with the previous hotels we stayed at. Again the tours we visited were good, we also did a few more on our own that were also good and we could take our time. Maybe if we had a choice of picking our hotels it would have been better. Our hotels were picked through the Italy Allegria Tour - Transat. Tours were actually through Alpitour when we arrived!

Grand Hotel Excelsior Amalfi: Beautiful view.

This was our first time visiting Hotel Excelsior. What can I say they went above and beyond. High on a mountain. Beautiful view. Great food. We travelled with our whole family. We had our 2 year old Grandaughter, and they treated her like family. Room service for her meals so she could go to bed earlier. The shuttle going down to the beach and also going into town is so accommodating. We would go back again absolutely.

Grand Tour of Italy and Sicily: Country Roads of Italy Tour

I recently went on the Country Roads of Italy tour from Insight Vacations. The tour was booked through Trip Central on my behalf. I have nothing but positive things to say about both the tour and my experience with Trip Central. I absolutely loved everything about the tour. We visited so many wonderful locations and our guide was outstanding.

Rome Times Hotel: A modern feel in a classic city

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon for two nights. We had an issue the first night where the hot water wasn't working so after a long day exploring out in the city I was forced to take a cold shower. On top of that the bar fridge in the room wasn't working so our glass of chilled wine was put on hold. I brought these two issues to the manager - Pietro - who understood how this would affect the quality of our honeymoon experience on our first night and went over and above to ensure we we [... read more]re happy. The morning breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Most of the staff were very friendly, however, there were one or two that were far from. Aside from that it is at a central location for many of the sites - 15 mins walk from the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Colosseum, Roman Forum, Spanish Steps - and about 25 minutes walk from the Vatican. Overall a great experience.

Hotel Centro: Good Location!

Hotel Centro was in a very good location, we walked everywhere we went. The staff were friendly and the rooms were very clean! The breakfast was ok but could have been better. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

Hotel Parco di Pricipi: Excellent Hotel

The hotel was very nice, the staff excellent. Location was perfect, very close to the beach and a 40 minute walk or a 10 minute drive from the train station. Staff very helpful with all aspects of the stay; for example arranging cab early in the morning and providing a nice breakfast before I left. Breakfast was good, the room was clean and the facilities well maintained. A wonderful experience.

H10 Roma Citta: Great room and hotel!

My wife and I spent our honeymoon there and it was great! We had a large modern very beautiful room, very clean, had a large bed, a large window, and nice washroom. The pool and hot tub facilities were amazing on hot days. Their breakfasts were the best we had while in Italy and recommended. The only small downside was the location, which is a little away from the heart of Rome, but they do run a 10 min shuttle ride into the city. The staff was friendly and kind. I would highly recommend this ho [... read more]tel to family and friends. Two things to watch for though is 1.local phone calls from the room are expensive and 2. The City's touristic tax at the end of the stay was 6 Euros per person per day, which meant for us 108 Euros for our 9 nights.

Hotel Darsena: Awsome vacation

The food is typically Italian and presented in 3 courses (pasta dish, meat and desert), the sea is beautiful and the water is warm. Beautiful sunsets. Great for family with kids who want to relax. Most of the clients were Italians which is a good indicator for tourists that this is a good place to go. The service is excellent. The personnel is very respectful. I would recommend it to any one who wants to immerse in the Italian culture.

Eden Hotel: Hotel Eden Excellent Sorrento Location

Just returned from Sorrento Italy and stayed at the Hotel Eden. Very good value, basic hotel room but very clean. Food at restaurant on site (Villa Rubinnaci) was excellent and very reasonably priced and hotel was only minutes walking distance to all the shops/restaurants in the town square, waterfront and train/bus station. Hotel grounds are very private and hotel staff (Michael) was very helpful. Pool and bar on site and never too busy with beautiful flowers, lemon and orange trees in the gar [... read more]dens. We used the pool often as the beach area in Sorrento is not great and most of the beach is private and costs a minimum of 10-13 euros per person per day to rent a chair and use the beach. Hotel is very central and good value. I would recommend upgrading to a waterview/balcony room as the economy room faced the back of the hotel with no view. Take your own face clothes and travel alarm clock as they were not available at the hotel but there was a small fridge and safe in the room. A small grocery store right across the road as well to purchase snacks, excellent local wines, etc. Booked through Trip Central and the agent (Angela K.) was very helpful/ knowledge and definitely steered us in the right direction for a beautiful family trip that was reasonably priced. Taxi costs are ridiculously high in Sorrento so having a hotel where you can walk everywhere will save you a lot of money. We never once required a cab while in Sorrento. The restaurant selection within 10 minutes walking of the hotel was endless. We could have stayed 6 months and not eaten in the same place twice. Basic 3 star hotel...excellent value.

Hotel Ariston: Nice Hotel

Very clean hotel. Friendly staff and very accommodating. Every request was dealt with promptly. Room was a little small. So was the elevator. Breakfast included had lots of variety satisfying a lot of people.

Hotel Astoria Sorrento: In the heart of Sorrento

Lovely, small hotel, centrally located,with polite, helpful staff. Porterage provided by Air Transat and transfers to and from Rome were efficient and timely. Hotel is close to transport connections for tours and ferries to Capri and Naples. Lots of good restaurants nearby. I would stay again.

Hotel Ariston: Amazing Hotel in Rome

We just came back from Rome on 5/20. The hotel was located in perfect location, so it's very convenient for us to access any public transportation. The breakfast was amazing delicious. We had good breakfasts every morning before we start the day. We certainly will come back again because we had a wonderful vacation in Rome.

Very clean and professional hotel. Excellent service with great breakfast. I would definitley recommend it just isn't in the city centre. Some taxis don't know about the hotel so keep the address on your phone. They will pack you a to go breakfast if you can't stay for the all you can eat hotel one that starts at 7. Very clean rooms and excellent bathrooms. Housekeeping comes in daily

Hotel Domus Romana: Fabulous Stay!

We had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for the weekend prior to our Mediterranean cruise. Excellent location for walking and the service was great! The court yard where we had breakfast and evening cocktails is very "Italy"!

Grand Hotel Excelsior Amalfi: A must to visit!

Hotel Excelsior in Amalfi was breathtaking. It was like time stood still! A beautiful place perched on top of a mountain and only minutes from town. Everyone was super nice and the service wonderful. Definetly will return.

Hotel Edera: Clean and great location

Super clean. the room was small but with two adults and toddler it was just fine. The bathroom was huge and housekeeping tidied up after us every day. There are loads of good restaurants and cafes all nearby and also little food shops and two large grocery stores two blocks away. The free breakfast was plentiful with fresh and canned fruit ,cheese cold meat and lovely crusty Italian bread. Also cold cereal and yogurt and of course pastries and cakes! Free WiFi and best of all it is literally 5 minutes to the Colosseum and 15 minutes to other main attractions like Santa Maria Maggiore and San Giovanni in Laterano. We were there for a week and would stay there again !

Allegria: Italy Vacation

I stayed in Rome, Sorento and Amalfi. The hotel in Rome( Carlton International) was my worst experience with very bad quality and unprofessional customer service. They didn't have hot water for one night. Overall I didn't expect such a hotel and accomadation in a metropolitan city like Rome.

Club Due Torri: Amazing Views and Scenery

Having spent two weeks using Club Due Torri as our base for day-trip exploring of the Amalfi Coast, we can't think of a better location or place to have stayed. The room, although a tad spartan for its 4 star rating, was spacious and well equipped with a reasonably comfortable king sized bed. Additional pillows were needed and promptly provided. The view from the room's balcony, and from the dining terrace, of the sea, the Norman tower and the coastline towards Minori and Amalfi can only be desc [... read more]ribed as spectacular. Meals and wine were generally ample and varied with several choices always available although there was a tendency to overcook the fish entrees.

Campania Delights: Enchanting!

We loved our stay at Darsena, a small but charming spot, the staff was fantastic, the hotel is right on the sea, the food was good and we had wine twice a day! How super is that? The place was super clean, there was a gym (!) and our tour guide for the excursions was very good. The whole package deal was delightful, we are thinking of going again! One thing for those who are unilingual, this tour is all in French, but we enjoyed wonderful people from Quebec as dinner and travel companions!
