Good value for the money

We don't go to Cuba for the culinary experience but the food was reasonably good, the rooms were clean, everything worked, lots of hot pressure and good pressure. The weather wasn't so good but the beach was nice and the service was impeccable.

Sunwing Crappola

Hotel was fine but Sunwing was the pits. Half the people on the plane saw their luggage sitting on the tarmac as we were leaving. They said they were overweight, but never took any of the kiteboarders gear of the plane. Some lady made the mistake of leaving her meds in her luggage including her insulin. Sunwing tried to make amends by giving them $50 cash a day until they got their bags. This happened 4 weeks in a row going to Camaguay as well as going to Santiago first and arriving 2 hrs late [... read more]r than posted arr. time. This is my 14th or 15th trip with Sunwing and probably my last as not one trip has gone according to plan or schedule. The staff at Brisas hotel is very good as is most of Cubas resorts . Its the same as most resorts, the better you tip the better your service.

Home away from home

The resort looks really nice the rooms are redone matresses very comfortable grounds are beautiful and clean food was good lack of some items but nothing dramatic.The weather was good so was the water all my family had a great time

Great Vacation

Rooms were nice, food was good, Staff were awesome. Still doing final repairs after Irma so a little construction noise in the day time. Loved the coffee shop. Shark Friends dive shop next door was a plus. Staff were well trained and dive sites were great. Did the shark dive twice.........

Just "OK"

When they first assigned me to room #916, there was strong odor coming from the bathroom. I had to ask for another room. They moved me to 424. Much better only ants!! Food was awesome but desserts was quite different. I wanted very HOT water but they do not have that available. I would say 70% of hot water and 30% of cold water. I had to shower fast! A/C does not work great like we have here in Canada. Be advised that all bathroom have NO screen to prevent from mosquito coming in. Luckily I boug [... read more]ht screen at Canadian Tire and taped it over window for a peace of mind. 90% of staff were really friendly. Mostly at front desk were not very friendly. If you give a tip to the server, they will immediately treat you like a king/queen. I encourage you to tip them and don't be surprised how they will treat you!! They do have 4 computers but every time one or two out of 4 won't work when doing the internet! It's $1 CUC for one hour. I had to re-connect a million times. I was so frustrated!! Beach was awesome! Only unbearable heat during summer time. I should have gone during winter time. Lesson learned. On the first show, they asked for perfect body guys which turned me off. I do not appreciate them only after "perfect" body. Of course I left the show. On my departure, since my plane does not leave until 9 pm, I had an opportunity to see the city (Camaguey) It really strike my heart. Their apartments were extremely small, standard were not met like we have up here in Canada. I had a hard time finding to buy pizza! Extremely limited choice of restaurants!! In closing, I will never go to Cuba again. I rather go somewhere where it's well developed, modern and more options such as restaurants, shopping malls and etc.

I like hotel Brisas

I was in hotel Brisas before one week I stay one week too. I had good.time, WEATHER was nice.I met many friends. Food. rooms.programs.recreations.are good I was happy and had 7 nice days I want go again Thanks all staf in Brisas St Lucia They are very kind See you again

Incredible Staff - Lovely Resort!

The hotel was very clean and very well maintained. The food was superb - the chefs excellent! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The entertainment was good... The atmosphere was both relaxing and fun! We will definitely travel back!

Great time

We recently came back from Brisas Santa Lucia. IT was a great experience for all four of us. I would highly recommend it for people with small children. Everything is so close. They have a small pool for kids, and the beach is a minute walk from the pools and the restaurant. Only thing I would recommend is to buy your own water at the store in the resort. Water in the resort is safe to drink but has a specific smell, and we were not able to drink it.

Wonderful getaway

We really enjoyed our stay.the moment we got to the hotel we immediately felt welcome.the staff greeted us.we were directed to the restaurant for our meal even though we got there very late. Drinks were served to us right away. Everyone was so warm and we felt safe. Our eleven day stay was one that will always be remembered as a wonderful holiday.we thank everyone for the great hospitality. Brisis st lucia

The Brisis hotel is totally worth what you pay. Just finished 4 days , what a way to relax! Everyone goes above and beyond to make your trip enjoyable. Rooms are fine, very comfortable bed. Buy bug spray! It rained for about an hour and the mosquitoes came out! The restaurant was so so, there is always something to eat. Spanish coffees are great! Swim up bar, you can't go wrong. Great Value and very Comfortable Resort

We found Brisas Santa Lucia to be the perfect sized resort. Our mother travels with us and she isn't able to walk great distances but everything was convenient and easy for her to get around. All areas were well maintained and clean! Most of the staff were friendly. The entertainers were exceptional! They provided different activities throughout the day at different areas of the resort and were incredibly entertaining and hilarious (Carlito specifically). The buffet offered a great variety of different food but I was particularly impressed with the lunch buffet and the large salad bar. The chef preparing omelettes and eggs at breakfast is extremely talented and well worth the wait for the specialty order. We went to one a la carte restaurant and although the service was great the food was not very good. The salad was tasty but the remainder of the meal was either overcooked or cold. I highly recommend the horseback ride. It's only $15 cuc and worth every penny. Raul was very friendly, funny and incredibly accommodating. He also organized the horse and carriage tour of Santa Lucia for us which was also very reasonably priced and most enjoyable. One thing I really thought was fantastic was to find out that the resort cares enough about their staff that their families could come and visit them when they are working many days in a row. My fondest memory will be the reaction of one of the entertainer's son when I gave him a toy and his face lit up and he promptly hugged and thanked me. His day was made a little brighter but my vacation was made at that very moment. I look forward to returning to Brisas Santa Lucia!

Amazing and friendly resort

The resort had the friendliest staff, good food and a beautiful beach. The pool activities were fun and the nightly entertainment was such a good time. Would go back just to see all the employees that work around the resort.

4 th time on this Resort

The main reason we go back to this beautiful place is the beach and water. Walking on the beach is my favorite thing to do in a vacation and on this place you can walk for 1hr each way. The water is amazing for children . For 30 ft in the water is about 2 ft. The kids swim with the fish. Safety, No pollution. Is like a different world. .Leave the worries at home and you will have a great vacation. If you like fancy rooms and fancy foods, this is no the place for you. Amazing service

This is a solid 3.5 star hotel - if you go with this is mind, you won't be too disappointed. The staff here is what makes it great - and tipping one peso here and there will get you far! One doesn't go to Cuba for the food, but mostly for the beaches. Although there was a lot of kelp , it didn't hinder us from enjoying ourselves. The a la cartes were ok although we were expecting a bit more of the Cuban one. As for the drinks, yes, it is the cheap rum but they are very generous with it:) overall, the staff makes his place!

Nice Resort

The Resort was nice had a great time Although the Brisas is old and needs updating the Grounds are Mature and maintained the Pool is Great and the Beach is Awesome. The Buffet is Limited and Service needs improvement but all in all it is a good Value for the Money other than going at March Break . I would go back again . I hope this helps Regards Sandra Beson

Thank you Brisas for wonderful vacation

VERY CLEAN hotel. Rooms, cafeteria, garden, beach - maintained daily and spotless clean. FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL STAFF, pleasant, smiling, offering help and solutions to every little problem. I was there with my grandson and sometimes we needed a little extra service, and I must say we were well taken care of. So thank you Brisas, thank you Trip Central and thank you Air Transat. Our money was well spent.

Great vacation

Other than some minor things with rooms like broken and dated items. The resort was great, staff was great! Food was surprisingly good for Cuba especially the à la carte restaurants! A remote area for those that prefer being closer to a city but we had a fantastic vacation and would return!

Good times

No complaints at all. Food, staff, beach, pool, bars, shows, rooms... were all as expected or better. Excursions were fun and great value. 3rd time in Cuba and have not yet been disappointed. The rooms will need to be updated in the next few years, but still very functional.

Resort meets more than my expectations.

Exquisite landscaping. Better than expected food. Outstanding service. Very clean room. cleaned daily. Entertainment well done. Outstanding coffee bar. Spotless, larger than life pool. Stunning coral reef. Very nice beach raked daily. Variety of excursions offered. Ready to go again next winter. My luggage got lost on the way to the Camaguai airport. I got a generous compensation. Luggage got delivered to the hotel no problem. I recommend this place!!

Really a 3 star hotel but a 10 star plus camping!

The beach was like most beaches in Cuba, amazing! Soft sand, clear waters and lots of chairs with the palm leafed umbrellas. The hotel is not too big and everything is located around the center pool area. The lobby, the rooms, the coffee bar, the stage right at the pool and the snack bar are all located around the pool. Easy to navigate and we were less than 3 minutes to our room from the beach. The exercise room is not up to par, equipment is old, not working or missing pieces. No free hand wei [... read more]ghts, no mats, no water dispenser, no clips for the plates on the lifting bar and the bench press is bolted into one position only.Now when In Cuba, you may get no toilet seats on the toilet, so squat. You may have a broken chain to flush your toilet in your room but it has been repaired with a fishing line and you pull on the knob. The beds are foam but great after a long day out in the beautiful sun! Slept like babies. There seemed to be a creature defecating on my balcony lawn chair so I just swooshed it off. There is plenty of food if you love seafood and fish, wish we do not. But, we could always find chicken, pork or beef. You can ask the chef to refry meats that are not up to your standards. Lots and lots of salads and always rice and beans for gluten free individuals. If you are into eating omelets, pancakes, or fresh spaghetti, you are in luck but plan to wait. It is a long process. Do not look for jam, peanut butter or Nutella but you can bring your own if you like. There were several special buffet nights since we were there at Carnival time and Valentine's Day! Food piled sky high! I did see a complete cow splayed out including its tail being barbecued on a metal bed support hanging on ropes. It has presently turned me into a vegetarian. The pool is super active with music and activities if that is your seen. Lots of security but you should bring your own towel to the beach. There seems to be towel theft and if you lose yours, you must pay $25.00 which is about $34.50 when converted. Using your own towel helps you reserve and find your chair. Coffee bar was amazing. My husband drank Spanish coffees endlessly and there were herbal teas for caffeine free lovers. We loved our trip because we needed to get away and we had the same sun and beach of any other hotel whether it is a 5 star or a 3 star, we all have the same weather. We would go back for sure. If you need everything perfect and can't accept a few not so perfect standards, then it might not be your thing. If you love the outdoors and camping then we rate it a 10 star plus experience. We had everything we needed and got amazing tans, made friends, we did not starve were safe and did not starve! The staff were very, very accommodating. One hour and 5 minutes drive to arrive to hotel from airport but one and half hours to return due to locals on bikes, and horses and carts on the street. Transat was an excellent resource person and always available.
