Shocked

We stayed two weeks. Hotel, rooms, beach, service are great by Cuban standards. Food - is beyond terrible and I mean it. Vegetables selection - cucumbers and cabbage (not even fresh), that is it. Same food selection is served every day. And the selection is at its worst. Prison food. Flies are everywhere in the restaurant. Entertainment is minimal. You WILL get bored unless you are a kitesurfer. Decay is evident everywhere. It is only going to become worse. I love Cuba. I have travelled [... read more] to Cuba more than 20 times. And Cuban people, They are modest and polite at this hotel. But this is my last trip. My advice- pay a bit more and go to Dominican

Good resort

The resort is situated on the beautiful beach with crystal water, it is great wing foiling and kiting. The beach stretches for several miles . Colorful villas with spacious rooms. Good service, the staff is very friendly, The food is good but not enough fresh vegetables.

Wonderful Resort

My stay at Iberostar Daiquiri was wonderful. The grounds are clean and well kept. The pools are crystal clear with lots of space and plenty of loungers around. The lobby is great, with a TV so i could watch my Sunday Football. Beach is Beautiful, there is a great pier to go snorkeling from with lots of different fish to see. Best part of my stay though, was the super friendly and welcoming staff. They made me feel at home. Cant wait to go back

Great staff & service

I went to Iberostar daiquiri in April. And I again visited last week. The staff goes out out their way to accommodate you. Please remember you are visiting Cuba. There ARE food shortages which the government controls. Bring protein bars, peanut butter packs or snacks. The shows are fabulous along with singing in the lobby at times. The courtyard was wonderful in the morning where I enjoyed feeding the Mother & 5 baby roosters. It was quiet while enjoying my breakfast of fresh buns, omelets and f [... read more]ruit. Not a good stay

I would never visit this resort again. The hotel room air conditioner didn’t work. The buffet was disgusting with flies on every piece of food. Cockroaches running everywhere. The food even raw chicken being undercooked. No cocktails were available except for the very basic. Never been to a resort that had absolutely nothing in the mini fridge in the room. A lot of staff rude and unhappy. Would love to ask for all my money back because all I wished for was to be back home but I know that won†[... read more]™t happen

Amazing resort

Grounds and public areas: very neat and clean Rooms: Clean, needs better pillows, toilet seat needs repair Staff: very friendly and courteous Beach: beautiful - ample reclining outdoor beach beds Fishing: good fishing at extended pier. Pier is lighted up at night. Restaurant: compared to our previous stay, shortage of staff, tables were not cleared quickly enough; there is a shortage of butter, bring butter and peanut butter

Disappointed

This was the third time I vacationed at this resort …… about 4 years between stays , I find the resort going in the wrong direction …… taking into account post covid , and understanding it’s truly not the fault of the staff , I think they could have done a little better …… some of the staff weren’t very friendly …… understaffing , resulting in long lines ….. sometimes running out of certain foods ….: I’ve never travelled to Cuba for the food , yet this trip was consider [... read more]ably worse …….. upon arrival , I checked approx 20:30 , went to the bar , and told they didn’t have any rum ! …… no rum in Cuba ! …..: hmmm …… yet , 5 steps away , I could purchase all the rum I wanted in the gift shop ….: interesting ? ….. to be fair , rum did arrive , a few days later …… trying to secure a taxi from the resort became an Olympic event …… first time in Cuba ( been there 12 times ) and been chewed badly by bugs …… a lot of people on the resort had the same issue …… I guess the bottom line is , Cuba is hurting ….. which trickles down to tourism ……: on a positive note , and I wish I could remember her name ( I know shame on me ) ….. my transat rep was amazing …… she went above and beyond to help me out …… and of course trip central.com …… very professional , thanks ! ……: I’ve always loved Cuba , but I think my next vacation will be elsewhere …… until Cubas in a better position …… sadly , I would not recommend this resort 🥲

Beautiful resort

Hotel was old but well kept with character. Rooms were clean . TV sucked but that Cuba. Beach was beautiful and water great. Staff were outstanding friendly and helpful. Wifi was good but had to go to the desk to resign in all the time, sort of a pain. Shortages in Cuba were felt in the resort, you didn't go hungry or thirsty but they ran out of things from time to time. Overall had a great vacation and even being covered with noseeum bites and the shortages I will go back.

Great Vacations

The hotel itself is good enough, we were told in advance about the food quality being not great and it was exactly it. Id you travel ensure you bring in some snacks, insect repellent, after-bite and of course a lot of sunscreen. People and staff were great, and I think they take the experience to another level. They are always keen to make you feel comfortable, and ensuring you are having a great time. Bedroom was good and clean. I think the only problem we had was with one visitor family that had superiority thinking, and even there hotel staff was able to manage. Tip: Cuban people are just amazing and in this hotel in particular they appreciate you coming and of course sharing a tip. Although it is not mandarory and you shouldn’t feel pushed. I totally recommend this hotel for kids and family. There were daily activities, night shows and performances. And at least our kids had a great time.

Awesome Experience

The beach is absolutely perfect. The staff was friendly and genuine. The facilities were well laid out and the accommodations exceeded expectations. We spent very little time in the pool but it was very nice.

Iberstar Daquari

This hotel was an older, smaller resort, easy to get around, with an amazing beach and great entertainment. The rooms were dated, you could see where there had been leaks in the ceiling and walls. Cuba is still recovering from Covid, they would often run out of certain things like toilet paper in the main lobby bathrooms, drinks and food. The buffet was the same food all week at every meal and the a la Carte ( we could only get into one) was the same food as the buffet.

Good Resort

Everything about the hotel is fantastic Clean,great for everyone of all ages Beach is fantastic for walking, swimming,snorkeling Would recommend the glass bottom boat tour,amazing! Difficult at this time with food and alcohol supplies Difficult

Will never go there anymore ,very disappointed

There was a lot of flies all over the buffet over the food seen some cockroaches around the food, had flies in my coffee, in my pasta, the food was not good at all, lots of mosquitoes,I have mosquitoes bite all over , the same with my family , we were 7 adults and 4 children ,the only good thing was the beach and entertainment.I don’t advise anyone to go to this resort. We were very disappointed.

Loved coming back!

Thank you Tripcentral for all the info updates re: travel\Covid/reviews. All were so helpful in our choice to return to the Iberstar Daiquiri. We (three 60something women) had a great flight to and from the island. Customs on both sides were no problem. My sister and I had been to this resort quite a few times and were not disappointed. Yes, we understood that the Cuban land and its peoples are in a difficult situation but they greeted us with such warmth and cheer. Rooms were a little ru [... read more]n down but spotless. The food was simple but ample....and the fish!!! OMG!!. Loved the pig roast; loved the beaches; loved the entertainment. This was the first time to Cuba for my friend who has travelled quite a bit and I had hoped she wasn't disappointed. Nope, she also fell in love with the people and place and will come back again. Yes, there were some issues: flies in the "Big House"; ran out of wine, both red and white; no door on the closet. But really? no complaints here. Thank you to all the staff ...LOL...especially the Bellman and Front desk. Thank you to the cleaning staff of the Trinadad building. Hope to see you next year!

For very picky people

Almost everything was very good and we got first class service from hotel's staff. It will be easier to list minuses, as there is only three. Buffet - Food was very good, fresh, choice of fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, excellent bread and a lot of annoying flies Room - renovated, clean, bed comfortable, fantastic view, but could not open the window for fresh air as there was no screen. Everything else I would say 10/10. I am really happy with our trip.

A PIECE OF PARADISE

Visited March 24-31, our second time since November 2022. A great go to for an inexpensive vacation. Can't do better than the beaches at Cayo Guillermo. While the hotel was full, the food was not as good as in Nov, when the hotel was only 1/3 full. More choices this time but lacked quality. Flies in buffet made for quick meals. No wine at all. Purchased a bottle in the store and more when we went to Moron. No Cristal one day, Moosehead cans served. Rooms are dated but comfortable and clean. [... read more] Staff is amazing, very friendly. Hotel for Kitesurfing fan

Beautiful long beach/ Small hotel to relax for beach lover/ a lot of beach chairs and palapas/ very clean :washrooms and pool and on the site. very good room cleaning room service All hotels in Cayo Coco /Cayo Guillermo have shortages of Wine (red,rosé,white) since a few months,have to buy it at the tienda of the hotel (plan B)

BEWARE!!!

My 4 time at this resort. NEVER AGAIN. It is run down, it is dirty it is disgusting filthy, bugs in our beds, cockroaches EVERYWHERE. no water in our rooms, toilets did not work, tv did not work, cockroaches walking all over the food in dining area. No food!!! No drinks. My kids went home traumatized from All the bugs in the beds and our room, our bed sheets had brown/bloody stains which were not changed in 7 days even after we requested and begged them to change them. Snack bar had no food [... read more] they would cut a 3 inch burger in half and give two 1.5 inch halves to my two kids! DAILY. No juices no soft drinks. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE. 4 families that came to this resort on out flight left after one day. We met them on the way back to Toronto, they moved to Different resorts in the area due to bugs and filthy rooms🤢 Sunwing and tripcentral Should not sent Canadians to this nasty unsanitary resort that is a NIGHTMARE!! Not worth the money

Issues from the start. We were given two options, to switch rooms or move to the 5 star resort. The rooms we were offered were no better and some had 2 beds instead of a queen or king. We didn’t move to the 5 star because we met a couple groups of people who told us they didn’t have food and they also had cockroaches. This was by far one of the worst experiences either one of us has had. The paint was peeling, the vents were rusted, the fan in washroom didn’t work at all, the outlet in t [... read more]he washroom was hanging out of the wall, the washroom door didn’t close, the light in the washroom had no cover so you could see right through to ceiling between floors, the food was so limited and if you didn’t get there once buffet opened you weren’t getting anything. There were days they didn’t even have different foods, it was just massive bowls of rice placed all over. Also got bad food poisoning from the meat we think. There was pork chicken and beef depending on day. There was cockroaches in the buffet area ( I almost died so gross). There was another patron at the buffet who screamed yelled “cockroach” and killed it. They had run out of tequila and vodka for a few days. Honestly I wish we hadn’t gone at all and had waited. The experience and vacation was not one I’d ever want again. The best part of the trip was the plane ride there and back.

I would not recommend this resort

Although this resort was pretty clean as l have seen worst, the food was terrible there were not condiments no pepper, butter for toast or peanut butter or jam, no syrup for French toast some days no milk for coffee. The only alcohol was at times white or red wine, rum and beer. Mixes for the rum was scarce. The toilets did not work. I had to complain for 3 days in a row to get my toilet in my room fixed.
