Amazing resort!

Amazing resort! The location is wonderful! Love the beaches!! Service was good! Food may be need to improve a bit. Overall we had good time there! Thank you for everything! We would like to come back soon

A Slice of Paradise

The grounds are a slice of paradise. They provide a beautiful background to the exceptional service provide by the staff. The staff provide a welcoming but laid back vibe. This was our second visit and we will definitely return for visit three.

Getting Older but Never Disappoints

This is our favourite resort in Cuba and have been back 7 times. Some aspects are getting tired and could use some work but these are overshadowed by the beauty of the grounds, buildings and most importantly the staff. We will definitely be back as the value is excellent.

True paradise

This is my 4th time going to this hotel and I love it. Ive been everywhere in Cuba and this hotel is by far my favourite. I’m a beach person and you can’t get any better than ensanachos beach it’s simply stunning!! Staff is amazing, staring from the lobby , entertainment, beach bar ensanachos , life guard, cleaning ladies , etc…. honestly they all made our stay even better! You will never be hungry and if you are simple person you will not have any problems with food. For cuban standards food is very good! I would recommend this hotel to families with little kids and everyone who wants to relax their mind , body and soul . :) Hotel may need some reno from the outside but rooms are amazing and spacious. I can’t wait to go back there again we are latest looking for good deals to go back in April !!

Very beautiful beach

Very beautiful beach. Very kind staff. Poor kitchen. Abandoned residential buildings and rooms. No mini bar. We were there from Dec 21 to 28. Amazing beaches and good pools. The resort did a fabulous job to put together Christmas Eve dinner with all the possible variety. For the other days buffet had limited variety but freshly grilled chicken, fish and seafood was always available. Ala carte were not the best at all. This resort should improve in terms of entertainment for guests and more activities or live music in the lobby for guests in the evening time.

Amazing beaches

Thanks to our very helpful travel agent Eliana Anton at Tripcentral, we enjoyed again our recently stay in Iberostar Ensenachos resort. People who work there are so friendly and helpful. I want to mention Yunely and Ariel at the Ensenachos beach. Yunely is such a great human being, a hard working guy who makes everyone feel relaxed and comfortable. He will go above and beyond to accommodate anything without even us asking. Very pleased with his service. A shout out to the receptionist I don't remember her name, a young lady who will offer her help whenever she sees us at the lobby. She will remember our room's number too.

Fun family time

We had fun family time at Iberostar. The rooms were spacious, the grounds were beautiful. We actually liked all the walking. The beach was beautiful. The small water park was a nice added touch of fun for my toddler and us as well. I usually don't have a problem with the food, but i think because Cuba was having a food shortage the hotel did the best with what they had. Good Resort in need of Care!

2.5 STARS at best. ----- Ensenachos' beach is fantastic, that's for sure! Megano is nice. - Staff is the usual we get in Cuban resorts, they're helpfull and very friendly specially if you tip them for everything, nothing new here. The hotel itself is old and shows it in the "details", a great set up though in need of repairs and general maintenance. - Food, you must not be a "pick or gourmet eater" but you probably know that already.

A Disappointment

My sister whom I travelled with had been here and raved about this resort. We arrived to find that the place is in disrepair and the services to be lacking. Although the staff works hard and try to please they have little to work with. They don’t even have the basics to work with. A 5 star this is not the place is falling apart and has not been maintained and they donot provide the services they advertise. Beautiful Beach and nice pools!

It was our second time at Iberostar Ensenachos and we enjoyed the warm water with a very nice turqoise coulour. We had the lunch almost every day on Megano beach, and they served tasty pasta, fish, oven pizza, and fresh mango. Bring some protection for mosquitos, especially in the evening.

Disappointed

I was traveling with my daughter and her 3 year old son. This was my 7th time at this hotel. The first rooms we got were in buidlings 21, my daughters room was ok but phone didn't work and no water. My room had a stained bedspread, dirty glass table top, no toilet paper. Moved us to 2 other rooms in building 25. My room was ready and was good. My daughter and grandsons room was not ready and we went back to pick up keys at 5:00. When we got to her room there was No bedding, all the small furn [... read more]iture had been pushed into the bathroom, and the fridge was pulled apart. Never did they offer to drive us to any of these rooms. I called the front desk and told them the room was not good, They said they would give us two more rooms. I said can you send someone with the keys and take us to the new rooms. My daughter went to check out these rooms before we hauled all of our luggage there again.. These rooms we at the far end of the hotel, rooms 3623 & 3624 were better. All this back and forth made my arthritis flare up. I was in pain for 4days had a hard time sleeping. we found out that the building we were in only had 1 other person, there was no outside lighting. At night you could not see anything pitch black. - There is no hand soap in the bathrooms. - No hot water. - Rooms were not cleaned only came in to make beds and empty garbage can. - There is No toilet paper in common areas, or hand soap. - Twice a day without any warning they would use a truck to drive by whether you were walking or not and would spray a fogger of bug spray. We had to run for cover with my 3 year old grandson. - One day when leaving the kids pool a truck came flying around a blind spot and all most hit us.. I had to yell out at them. - Food was not good very limited. Drink very limited.

Amazing resort

We had a wonderful time at this resort beautiful scenery and beaches. Great temperature weather was great the staff was wonderful couldn't ask for a better staff there just like family. Would recommend this resort to anyone as a place to go to?

Peaceful and relaxing holiday!

This was our second time returning to this resort. Last time in Cuba was 2014. Times are hard for the Cuban people but they really try so hard to make everything nice for the guests at this resort. We stayed in building 34 and it was really nice. To us the bed was surprisingly comfortable ( not sleep country but not bad) as we have had bad experiences with mattresses in the past. The room was clean and spacious. There are food shortages in Cuba and although there is always something to eat  [... read more]and we by no means went without, sometimes there were no eggs for breakfast or sugar for coffee, or no chicken or beef at any meals. It made us think of the local people and what they are short of. Beer and wine were missing some days but rum is always available. You can manage just fine if rum is available! Right? We liked that we could use Canadian money for tipping so no need for bringing American cash and no exchange of currency needed. The beach is absolutely one of the best in the world, hands down! So crystal clear and stunning. We never had trouble getting a palapa and chairs. As a side note: the filtered water is so much better since the Cubans no longer use plastic bottles. I always felt after a few days that the water tasted funny from the bottle. Like it was sitting in the plastic bottles in the Sun somewhere for too long. They now use glass bottles on this resort. So much better! We would definitely return to the Iberostar Ensenacho Santa Maria.

Still good value

Fourth time at this resort, as we have always enjoyed it however, you can tell that the pandemic has had significant effects on the level of service and the condition of the resort. Also, there was three days where there was no beer, and one day of no eggs, which was very disappointing.

Excellent time at the Coral level

Everything was great, the beach is awesome, the resort is small and you get to know some of the other guests and the food was excellent (based on Cuban expectations - some of the best pork and fish that I’ve had in years.) What makes this place special, are the staff. Within a couple of days they knew our preferences and did everything to ensure we were well cared for.

Decent

There needs to be lights in the pathways and the food was cold everyday, was a nice stay but with issues they didn’t get fixed while we were there, I don’t think we would come back but they definitely need work around the resort

Beautiful Resort

We sure enjoyed our stay at the Iberostar Ensenachos with our little family. Everybody had a great time. This is a very big resort therefore lots of walking to go everywhere but you can also take a cart to drive you around if needed. The gardeners are working very hard to keep the grounds meticulously clean. They are very friendly. We can't say enough about the staff working everywhere, they all tried their best to make sure everything was perfect for us. The beaches are beautiful with their whi [... read more]te sand and the pools (kids and adults) were kept very clean. The food at the buffet was good and they had a good variety to please everyone. The only complain we have is that the lighting along the path to return to your room at night is not very well lit so bring a flashlight if you think about it. All in all, this is a beautiful resort, we had an awesome vacation and we would definitely return.

Better than expected

This was our 4th visit in 5 years and we were worried about all the negative reviews generally from all locations in Cuba so we were pleasantly surprised to find that Ensenachos hasn't changed a bit, in fact we thought that the buffet was quite good. Most of the week we enjoyed delicious (and expensive back home) all you can eat smoked salmon. The fresh fruit, veggies, bread and butter were excellent and in fact better than the fruit we can get shipped into Toronto. Most of the meat was challeng [... read more]ing but it's always been that way. We did sometimes find some edible beef, pork or chicken. The service was great. The lobby entertainment quality ranged from terrible (karaoke) to amazing (live Cuban trio). Everything worked: WiFi, Toilets, shower, hot water, TV, beach towels, no blackouts, etc. The (TWO) beaches are still amazing as is the swimming. Lots of lounge chairs as we suspect the resort is still nowhere near fully booked. Same with the (TWO) pools - very clean and not too crowded. One evening in the lobby, the no-see-ums bit us up pretty good so after that we wore bug spray and sat away from the outside and that seemed to solve it. One calm late afternoon at the beach we got bit up as well so bug spray is probably a good idea. Overall, the place could use a bit of paint, some lighting and door repairs, a few plumbing repairs, etc. but it's CUBA and so this is just the way it's been there for many years. Probably why it's half the price of other destinations. We just love the country, the beaches and the people and feel very safe and welcome there. I'm sure that we'll go back.
