This was our third time at this resort. It has gone down hill very quickly! The showers at the beach didn’t work so you were unable to rinse off creating massive amounts of sand throughout the resort and in the rooms. The whole place was under renovations so there was only one restaurant and one buffet available for the week we were there. The sports bar was also closed. Pools were very dirty (slime around the edges). Often you wouldn’t get a drink at the restaurant unless you were in one of th [... read more]e male waiters sections. Only received bar service on the beach one day. Even with tipping a lot service was lacking :(

Needs work

We had fours rooms for a family vacation. Two rooms had to change rooms once and one room had to change rooms twice. There was water leaking, taps broken, restaurants closed, sports bar closed, and the power was out through most of the resort for a whole day.

Relaxing family vacation

The hotel is really clean. The beach is amazing. The food is tasty and has enough variety for the week. The specialty restaurants were especially enjoyable. Beware though that as of the first week of May they start scaling back on restaurant availability. As a large group we were worried about meals together , but the food staff was very accommodating to us and gave us amazing service. Having two pools was also nice as they have different atmospheres and weather ( kids pool has way le [... read more]ss wind). The drinks were tasty and the house wine was enjoyable. Housekeeping was a bit sporadic upon arrival but was remedied when asked about. They were also accommodating when we requested a new room as the room for my adult kids had no natural light, no balcony to speak of and was right up against the neighbouring hotel’s wall.

Needs help

Lots of updating needed. Check in was good and reception staff quite friendly. Rooms in need of some TLC. Trollies being rolled up and down hallways over tiles all night and early morning. Food just ok. Coffee shop only uses small paper cups and plates. Ridiculous lineup every morning to get booking for restaurant and only one at a time. Unless you are there at 7 (and they won’t take bookings till 8am on the dot) you are unlikely to get much of a choice. Hardly any seating in lobby or bar area [... read more]. Nowhere comfortable to sit and have a quiet drink in evening. Rooftop bar plays music way to loud. I could go on but…….

Great family hotel with a spot for only adults too

The hotel on the whole was fantastic food pools beach. Somethings that were lacking were keeping up with the amount of people who were staying they could have put more effort into cleaning around the beach with garbage left but vacationers. It attracted the birds to the leftover food. The saved loungers kind of got out of hand that also could be managed abit better. The bookings for the restaurants was absolutely ridiculous. People lined up in the lobby starting at 6 and taking reservations at 8 [... read more] not to sure why a hotel would want their guests to miss out on the full vacation in order to get a different meal. But on the whole it was a beautiful resort our room was nice and comfy

Good resort

The resort was really nice being a smaller resort everything was close together, food was great resort staff was phenomenal, my only complaints were that when you shower that there was no shower door so the bathroom floor would be a pool of water and that the wifi didn’t work in my room and it was very spotty all around the resort. Other than that the resort was clean the à la carts were all fantastic. Nice having an Oxxo and pharmacy outside the resort as well

Fantastic Resort and we love MEXICO!

Krystal Grand Nuevo was absolutely Amazing! This resort was very clean, sanitation staff were always working. Rooms were clean and service was amazing. The pools were THE BEST!!! The Infinity Pool sold us on this resort as it was looking right on the beach. Also the fact that the resort/infinity pool was the closet to the ocean from all the resorts along the beach. In the pool be sure to see Miguel and Alejandro best bartenders. These two men work hard, fast and are very friendly workers. This resort is a 20 Minute walk along a nice pathway into Bucerias, which has a fantastic outdoor market and great restaurants. If you cab into Puerto Vallarta which is 30 minutes you must go walk the Malecon Boardwalk along the beach I suggest late afternoon and night. We this this awesome couple Scott and Robyn we went into Puerto Vallarta with then and they were our personal tour guides and planned our day. This lovely couple had seen to PIPI's restaurant a few times, what a BLAST! PIPI's Restaurant a few streets behind the boardwalk. Mariachi Band and Awesome food and drinks. Huge portions share with another person as portions are huge. It was our first time to visit Mexico. We travel every other year. And we just can't wait to go back and stay at the same resort and do it all again!!! Cheers,

Good Resort

The hotel was clean and staff were kind and helpful. Our room was very small with a double bed, couch and a shower/toilet room but we booked the daily double and got what we paid for. The buffet was good but not amazing while the a la carts were fantastic with a reservation required the day of at 8:00am. Nightlife was none existing after the show and required a trip into town but there were plenty of activities during the day to tire you out. The adult only infinity pool was amazing with a swim up bar but hard to find a chair unless you got up early to reserve a lounger. 2nd pool for all was large and seemed to accommodate everyone with a bar and food close by. There was very little seating in the lobby bar area and could have used some tables and chairs to gather with others to play games, cards, etc... Beach walks into Bucerias took about 30-40 minutes and was a nice break to visit the market and some of their local restaurants. The beach was good but also hard to find a lounger unless you were up early. Better signage could be helpful for use of their amenities as they were off the beaten path and well hidden. On our last night we stumbled into the kids building to find out it turned into an adult games room in the evening with air hockey, pool tables etc.... It was a fun place to be.

The worst!!

I’ve been to Puerto Vallarta a lot of times and this was the worst stay ever. Not a 4 stars hotel. The room was the worst. On the side of the Riu hotel, all we could hear was the AC noise. The room lack of major TLC. No curtains, no towels rack, no cover sheets, broken iron, the safe was not even attach. When we ask to put us in another room, the room they put us in was even worst. The wifi reception is worst then if you were in Cuba. The insult was the personnel at the reception don’t  [... read more]seem to care. It’s unfortunate, cause this hotel as potentiel. The pools and the beach are very nice. The staff is super friendly and the food was good.

Not a great resort

The staff were all amazing. The food was very low quality and not alwaus warm.. The overall issue we had was the rooms. They are in poor shape and needs much repairing. The bathroom has a huge leak in ceiling and black mold. It start dripping on our second day. Our fridge never got restocked. We always had to ask for water and coffee. It is no where close to a 4 star. The only 4 star would be the staff

Great Stay at Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta!

We booked a Jr Suite Swim Out Dble Queen Bedroom and it was great! We had We had the Altitude Privilege access and that was great too! We checked in at a separate office / suite / lounge where we could sit down and enjoy some refreshment. We had great service from Josefina at the welcome suite! We could reserve all our diners for the whole week through the Altitude private access service! This is totally worth it. Our room was spacious and had all the amenities of a good resort. The swim out exp [... read more]erience is good too, it's more relaxed and calm so you can wind down for a busy day at the pool and beach! All the restaurants are good! The service was great the whole week: Alejandro at the breakfast buffet, Manuel at the main pool and Cesar for the entertainment! All in all, me and my family had a great time at Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta! Thank you to Sandra Taylor at TripCentral for an outstanding service! I will definitely call Sandra again! :-)

Wonderful resort!

This resort is very nice. It's not huge, which makes it feel welcoming. The grounds are well kept, there are areas of lush vegetation throughout the property. Pools are great, I like that there are family friendly pools and adult only, I tried them all and it's a nice mix. Once again well kept, clean, and thanks to the efforts of staff not filled with plastic cups or spilled drinks. (It is the resort policy that guests use covered cups or thermos style cups in the pool...great idea!) One dr [... read more]awback is that even though it's resort policy that pool chairs are not to be saved, guests still do so. The staff tried in some occasions to enforce this, but not always. That's not their fault though, people should be more considerate. The food was excellent. While the buffet was on the smaller side, there was good selection of fresh, tasty dishes to choose from. I never made it to the al la carte restaurants as I was enjoying the buffet. The fish tacos were amazing at the snack bar. My room was clean and comfortable. The AC worked well, and the bed was comfortable. Good water pressure and temperature for the shower, because of the way the shower was situated, with no door, the water would spray on to the floor of the bathroom area. (That could be user error). My room faced the construction next door, but that wasn't really an issue as I wasn't in it during working hours except first thing in the morning, there's not much the resort could do about the property next door. Because my window faced the corridor I had to keep the drapes and screen closed or those walking by could see in, an inconvenience if you like to hear the ocean, but not a big deal. The staff was amazing!! Always friendly and helpful. Special shout out to Eugene, who goes above and beyond, trying to accommodate everyone's needs, working so hard always with a smile, a hola, and always checking if everything is okay! The crew doing games during the day and evening were fun and got people involved. The front desk, luggage porters, gardening, maintenance, servers, bartenders, security, kitchen, and cleaning staff were so hard working and accommodating, welcoming and friendly!! They're the ones that make this resort stand out, I've traveled quite a bit and the staff here are top notch!!

Resort Review

We had an amazing time at the Krystal Grand. Food was delicious. Pools were clean and the infinity pool was breath taking. It is a great location if you like lots of action on the beach with quick access to horse back riding, sea doos, para sailing, banana boat rides messages and vendors going by with jewelry, hats etc. Our room had no balcony. The roof top pool/bar that opens at 5:00 pm had has an amazing view of the area.

Very impressed!

I give a 5 star rating because even when there was a problem, it was fixed within 10 min if you call the quality control rep number they give at checkin. Room: They are eager to please. Had issues with our rm at first, called the rep she haf 6 different staff in fixing it and finished within 30 minutes of our arrival. They upgraded our rm prior to arrival without us asking. Beautiful ocean view and kitchenette. Food: The buffet was the best ive ever had at a resort. So much to choose [... read more] from. An entire section for kids (adults too if preferred) thst had food like hot dogs. So much food everywhere all the time. Snack bars were delicious with nachose, hot dogs, and really really goof fish tacos. My favorite was the coffee shop. Just like starbucks but you dont pay. And the best baking! The steak restsurant... all the other food for the 3 course meal was good but didnt like the meat. We preferredthe buffet. We felt very safe eating there. No sickness for either of us st any point. Pools: we loved the adult pool with the swim up bar that looked over the ocean. Other pools filled with families, tons of seats everwhere. Difficulty is finding shade, not seats. We cant wait until we go back! No covid rules in place. Staff: Amazing!

Great resort and location!!

We had been here 4 years ago and loved it! We were very pleased to see the resort and staff were still awesome! The grounds, pool and beach are great! Our room was very nice, we had the king size bed with the living room. The restaurants were very good! Only downfall was having to get up early to book the reservations for the next day!

Krystal Grand - Excellent accommodations

The staff was amazing. The Altitude upgrade was well worth it! Having your room access on your wrist bracelet was awesome, no more keeping track of your room key. I preferred eating in the buffet to the restaurants as it had more selection. We were very pleased with our stay and would definitely go back.

Wonderful resort

The Krystal Grand at Puerto Vallarta is a wonderful hotel -very clean -excellent service -food was great -the breakfast buffet with their assortment of fresh fruit and omelettes made to order was a wonderful way to start the day. We had upgraded to a swim out and would highly recommend this. The concierge made sure we had beach chairs where ever we wanted, reservations for dinner etc

Excellent resort

The grounds and pool were immaculate. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There was lots of choice for meals and entertainment. The spa service was amazing. Would definitely recommend staying at Krystal Grand. It is close to Buceria to walk or taxi to.

It was a supper Resurt, has almost everything one would want.

First we booked and paid for Deluxe Resort View with Queen bed but was downgrades to Standard Resort View with double bed for first 4 days but upgraded to Deluxe for the last 3 days after complaining to management every morning for first days,other than that the resort was almost everything anyone would want. The workers were excellent and bent over backwards to help you. Management has some growing pains but is working hard to ensure the right person is filling the right slot. Talking to peo [... read more]ple that have spent time at the resort before said that the resort was not quite at the same level yet as before COVID19 but will get there before end 2023. We don't know what that means but we were impressed. The next question;Would you recommend this resort to a friend, ONLY IF YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR AND ADVERTISED. I would also go back with the same reasoning and was compensated for the downgrade. Our value and overall rating is based on unfair treatment.

Had an amazing time!

Beautiful grounds, well kept and clean Food was varied and really good! Beautiful pools. I wish there was a jacuzzi in the pool area, which I need to use regularly for back pain issues. Enjoyed our coffee every morning I felt the drinks were a little watered down. As there are only three a la carte restaurantes, the system of lining up before 7 am to make a reservation seems not the best way to do it. Great time overall! Will likely return
