Awesome resort

Everything was clean helpful cheerful people. Only complaints- Coffee maker in the room didn’t work snd even after asking several times about it, we weren’t a new maker Our rental wheel chair for my husband was taken from the front lobby. When we inquired about another because he has mobility issues, we were told we would be charged $85. Tv never worked either. Great amenities, staff, food and activities!!

I have nothing negative to report. Everything was first class and the staff were awesome. They made me feel at home. The food was outstanding and the beach and pools were fantastic. I would definitely go back.

Great resort! Wonderful time!

We are a family of 5 and we stayed in the resort during the 1st and 2nd week of January. The hotel was more than we expected. The rooms are large and comfortable, food was excellent - probably the best we've ever had in the Caribian. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed all the games and activities organized by the entertainment team. We went to snorkeling and horseback riding. We loved both excursions. We would highly recommend this resort. Relaxing & Beautiful Resort

A 40-minute drive from Samana Airport to the Hotel. Stunning views from this beautiful resort. The staff was very accommodating, personable, and professional. Ample buffet choices. Fresh juices daily & plenty of fresh fruit. Egg and pasta stations to order personal choices. The buffet food was always lukewarm. If you like your food hot, a microwave is located beside the egg station. The hotel, public washrooms, and swimming pool were very clean. Staff was always in public areas, clean [... read more]ing. The Beach is very short. Ample beach beds and shade from umbrellas and trees. Seaview Room - The washroom and vanity were on the smaller side. The room and balcony are a good size, with lots of cupboards and a safe is included. The room was well sound-proofed. Music at the pool and at the nightly entertainment area was very loud. Request a quiet room when booking and many of the rooms were close to the outdoor nightly entertainment area where loud music played until 10:30-11 pm most evenings. Coffee and tea are located in the lounge area beside the bar. .

Tropical Resort with Amazing Views.

The resort was in a lush, tropical setting with such beautiful views from so many vantage points. The room was one of the largest I've stayed in with a huge balcony with an amazing ocean view, sitting area, comfortable king bed and large spacious bathroom, with both a tub and shower. The elevated heated spacious pool sported a swim up bar, one of a kind views, lots of seating in both the sun and shade, and ongoing fun-filled activities. At the buffet restaurant you were always treated wonderfully by the staff, and the food was very good. I always found much to choose from, using pork, beef, chicken, fish, mussels, potatoes etc. in many different ways. Lots of fresh fruit and vegetable dishes. There was a made to order pasta bar. A large selection of hot and cold desserts, my favourites being the hot rice pudding and fresh ice-creams. The specialty restaurants were a nice way to try some different new foods. My favourite was the French restaurant, but all were worth trying. The bar tenders were all friendly and enjoyed making any sort of beverage. Really enjoyed the frozen Margaritas, Banana Mamas, Coco Locos, etc. The lobby bar had an all day tea and coffee station. The nightly entertainment was good, They was always a musician / singer or sax player to start the evening and get the dancing going. The specialty shows like the Stars (impersonators), Caribbean Party, and Circus sported talented dancers and performers. And as always, like by the pool in the afternoons, the entertainment staff were there engaging with us, dancing with us and for us, getting us participating, having fun, making the experience extra special. Such high energy and pride in their jobs. The resort was so very clean. Constantly sweeping / washing / painting/ repairing. Even though it is a fairly compact resort, with it being built on a hillside there are many stairs, which in the 37 with humidex weather I found taxing at times. The staircases to our 3rd floor unit, as well as many of the outdoor ramps/ stairs were not all well lit at night, so had to be quite careful not to mis-step. I'm so very glad I went and saw this beautiful resort.

Excellent resort!!

We had a great time specially the Entertainment team. A big thumbs up to Nadiuska, Yefrey, Starlin, Chocolate and Wesley.The resort was great and the food was pretty good too. Staff at this resort was attentive and always ready to help. Thanks Kathleen Emmans (Trip Central) for recommending us this resort. You were a great help too. I will definitely call you for our next trip.

Delightful holiday viewing humpback whales

Visiting this resort for the second time in three years, we found it better on this occasion. Better food, drinks, warm ambiance, and excellent service with most all requests met. The main beach area is improved. Visiting to do the Whale Samana tour with Kim was outstanding! Whale viewing season mid-January until late March. We may return and stay for two weeks rather than 10 days. Recommended.

Great Resort

This hotel was great! The room was good, food is reasonable, staff is great. For a resort thats over 10 years old it doesnt show at all. The views are amazing and all the amenities are great. Out of 10 I would give it a 7.

Different and beautiful

I personally loved this resort. It is smaller than the usual resorts, so there are fewer pools, bars, restaurants, but that added to the appeal - it was so much more personal. And the service was exceptional! The staff are truly wonderful. I loved the environmentally-friendly aspect that this resort upholds - no wasteful disposal plastic cups, and energy-conserving rooms. Place was amazing .good food.lots to do great weather. Nice rooms.lots of pool space.nice restaurants.friendy people. Air transit rep was great.plane ride was great.transportion was good. I got great pictures.

Amazing

Everything was great and we would go again. The only thing we found is that other guests paid less than us so we wouldn’t book as early as we did next time. We would also stay 10 days instead of 7. The food was good. The seafood restaurant was the only one that wasn’t very good, but the service was still good

Not bad but can be improved

Small and quiet so one doesn’t need to fight for beach chairs. A bit disappointed by the buffet seafood choices (only fish and squid). The shower only has warm water, so don’t expect to take a nice hot shower. Lack of facilities for kids. However overall an enjoyable trip and j will give it a 4 /5.

Beautiful grounds but needs improvement

The resort and views were absolutely breathtaking. I had a suite room on the first floor in a villa. Room and bathroom was nice in size and decor was simple. Bathroom had a tub with jets which was great but our shower had no pressure. We also had no hot water for 3 days, 2 days it was warm, and maybe 2 days it was actually hot. When i mentioned it they said to run the water for awhile but that never worked. We would've asked to switch rooms but didn't want to repack and waste time so we dealt w [... read more]ith it. We were quite far from the main grounds so we had to use the never ending stairs up because we were on a hill or the trolly which was suppose to come every 5min. I found most times it didn't come that often so we started to call the front to ask for one before leaving our room. As the week went on our wait for the trollys were longer and since it was raining on and off 5 out of the 7 days we were there it became annoying. Buffet had lots of varieties and the chicken was always good but i found the food was inconsistent in the taste and the way it was cooked (eg. Potatoes were cooked well one day but the next they weren't). The a la carte restaurants were amazing especially the surf and turf at the Mediterranean one. The a/c was quite high in them though, almost had to bring a cover to stay warm. We had the golden package and got an extra a la carte but when we booked them a day after landing there were none available for us to book a 4th because they were full. Beach was nice water was clean and no seaweed. Pools were nice but cold (could've been because of the rain though), beach water was actually warmer. Staff were nice and very friendly. Even in the pouring rain one staff member continued doing aerobics by the pool, very devoted staff. All in all we still had fun and made the best of it.

Very nice!

I liked the grounds although to get from the main hotel to the beach is a long a bit of a walk up and down stairs. Staff and service are friendly. The food is decent, I particularly enjoyed the lunchtime pasta. It would be nice to see a bit more athletic options, maybe a half basketball court or something. The jacuzzi didn't have warm water which seemed weird to me. I booked last minute so the value was amazing. Great resort, ok food!

The topography and the resort is beautiful. The views are spectacular! It’s built on a cliff so it’s different than other beach resorts. The food is average but the French restaurant is great. Breakfast buffet is also good with lots of variety - fresh juices, fruits, egg station, etc. You will find something to eat for sure for all 3 meals!!

Love this resort

I absolutely love this resort, food was good, love the beach. The people and service was wonderful! I would definitely revisit this resort with my family and friends. Close to town and loved going shopping in town.

Beautiful

Took my sister to my happy place. I have been here 5 times now. I can’t get enough of the beautiful view from every where you look . The resort is beautiful.. clean and there is always someone to help you if you have any questions. The staff are amazing. The assistant manager Edward was extremely helpful and always available. The restaurant staff are always with a smile and there for your every needs. The buffet manager dady was always helpful and he always is there to assist. The bartenders [... read more] were all very good. In a good mood and awesome at their job . The locals that work beside the beach are amazing and we made several trips to town to support as many businesses as we could. It’s a beautiful place to go. The shuttle service was fantastic. If you love to go in the water it is warm clean and very gentle. The beach is small but kept exceptionally clean by the staff. The bridge that goes into the ocean is lit up at night which makes the scenery at night even more beautiful. Town is a few minute walk and all the houses are built up the hillside so at night it reminds me of Italy . Great entertaining in the evenings as well as their disco. The rooms are situated where there is a beautiful view wherever you are .We have been to many resorts in many places and this is by far the most beautiful scenic resort we have ever seen. Great resort.

Food was great and the staff was super nice. Well kept and extremely accommodating. The view was also quite nice. The shows were enjoyable and I would definitely recommend my friends and family to attend in the future.
