Barcelo Palace Riviera Maya Grand Resort

The hotel was great. Clean, beautiful grounds, the rooms were spacious and clean. Staff was friendly and attentive. Will absolutely recommend this hotel and will be back! We had a wedding at the palace and everything worked out. Was a bit annoying that with our party size of 13 people, restaurants did not have us sit together… we were always separated

OK RESORT

The grounds are ok, it's not small at all.......if you like small and personal, this is not for you. No beach bar or music and YES there are rocks in the ocean. I'm a beach person and I hated this beach because you always had to watch were you step!!! Yes there's go-carts and a bigger water park and bowling.....ALL AT AN ADDTIONAL EXTRA EXPENSIVE COST!! $50 USD for the go-carts. As far as the chairs......after 7:30am everything is gone and the reviews were right!!!!!!!!! they need at least [... read more] 150 extra chairs to maybe make everyone happy. I read the reviews and like always resorts are all the same and I'm not that picky about the rooms, about the food, about the service, however, there was something about this place that I just would not recommend it to my friends. oh, and they now try to get you at the airport to book excursions for a good price but yet, its a set up for timeshares. be careful if that's not for you. You will be stuck to do a 90min meeting just for a better price for a sink hole excursion....but yet they forget to mention the 90min meeting to you.

Beautiful resort

Barceló Maya Palace is one of several properties owned by Barceló along a lovely stretch of clean beach. Both the grounds and the beach were meticulously maintained. Stay at one and access all, except for adults only property. The room was huge, with a comfortable king sized bed. Lots of storage for clothing, and a large bathroom with two sinks. However, the beach bar and lobby bars were understaffed, resulting in waits up to 15 minutes for drinks. On the plus side, all frozen cocktails were freshly made in the blender, to order. Very tasty. The first week of our stay was very busy, so it was difficult to get lounge chairs at the beach and pools. Most resorts have a “no reserving” policy but I have never seen it enforced like here. I made my way to my preferred location around 6:30 each day (I was awake anyway) to leave my towel and water bottle, then stayed to watch the sunrise. Management and a maintenance worker came by and randomly removed towels and personal belongings! This created a couple of nasty altercations on the beach later in the day when people discovered their reserved chairs had strangers in them. Clearly the resort does not have sufficient chairs for everyone either at the beach or around the pools. Unfortunately some people put towels down then never show up, which is incredible selfish, or they reserve chairs at both the beach and pool, also selfish. On the whole, it was a very pleasant vacation. I would return to this resort or to one of the adjoining properties for sure.

Beautiful vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bacelo Maya Palace. The beach was awesome and swimming with the sea turtles was so cool. The food was delicious, the rooms clean and service was excellent. When there were line ups for the bar, a manager would be present to organize a quicker method. Our only complaint, would be there are not enough seats. You need to be up and out of your room by 6:30 am in order to reserve loungers at the beach or at the pool. It seems the only way they wouldn't be taken was if you left personal items on them. It is a very busy resort, with tons of people. I think I prefer quieter spaces, but now we know for next time. Overall, a great spot!

Great expansive resort complex

The grounds of this resort are immaculate. Be prepared for a lot of walking. Would not recommend for someone with limited mobility. Specialty restaurants are first class and we dined at one of them every evening for 10 days. Buffets were adequate. Something for everyone. Excellent friendly staff. Be sure to tip them for their hard work and overall a great experience

Amazing resort

Everything is good, clean, good food, good environment, no flies, no mosquitoes, no bugs. The service is very good, nice people, good transportation to the aeroport, good beer, good wine, the resort is very close to the beach.

Amazing Resort!

We enjoyed our stay at the resort. The rooms are neat and clean and pretty big and comfortable. This resort is right on the beach which is an added advantage. The food is delicious and activities in the resort are also plenty. We found each and every staff to be friendly and nice. In short had a great family vacation at this resort and would recommend this resort to others as well.

Barcelo Maya Palace. Great resort

This hotel was clean and very well maintained and appointed. The beach views were endless. The beach was one of the nicest beaches I have seen with sandy bottom and no seaweed. The rooms were clean and spacious with all amenities. The food was the best if any all inclusive I’ve stayed at. The staff were friendly also especially Giselle and Garson at the frog pool! Really Great Resort

Amazing beach and clear water for snorkeling right on the resort! Great service all around with the dining, cleaning of rooms and bar service. The rooms are great - we went premium which I would definitely recommend! The only challenge was getting reservations for a large group of 18 people at the restaurants.

Beautiful Resort

The hotel was great. The rooms were large and the beds comfortable. The service was amazing. The staff were responsive and friendly. The food was very good and there was lots of variety. The beach was awesome! The fish were happy to come in the shallow part of the water.

Excellent resort

The resort was very clean. We could see empolyees cleaning the areas around the pools. The beach was raked every morning. The deck chairs were put back in place with a table between every two chairs. The grounds crew working on the grass. The busyness of the employees did not inconvenience us in anyway. The hotel rooms were clean.

Okay

The resort is nice but nothing special. It is in need of updates and repairs to be a true 4.5 / 5 star. Buffets were okay but a la carts were excellent. Service is hit and miss. Housekeeping in the rooms lacked basic sweeping of floors. Pools are nice and large. Beach is nice. Overall a good vacation but don't have high expectations.

Beautiful Resort

The food was amazing, the staff were friendly, the room met actually exceeded my expectations - can’t wait to go there again, would love to take my grandchildren. The beach was ok but the pool was great and the swim up bar was excellent, they were fast and didn’t have to wait long

Maya palace over premium at the maya beach

In the last year i have stayed at both the bercelo maya beach non premium and the maya beach premium oceanfront , given a choice the service at the maya palace was far superior then the beach resort. The only down fall of the palace resort is that you have to travel 3 hotels down to strikers sports bar to get drinks after 12 and food after 10 pm

Barcelo Palace - My home away from home!

I had the most amazing experience with my Mexico trip!!! From the minute I pre planned not knowing where to go, I reached out to Karol Chareza through Trip Central, and he helped me find the perfect destination. I also was able to take advantage of the Hydro Water Therapy as I was premium - wow.. what an experience! The drinks, the food, the staff all are amazing!! Not only will I return to Mexcio.. but I will return to the Palace for sure!!!!!!!!!!!! I made the best memories over the ten days I was there.

Great choice

Everything was great! Beach is great, water is clear, can do some snorkelling as well. Pool is great. Kids pool area with slides is amazing. Food was very good. A big variety. Service is great too! Rooms are nice! Very clean. Just a bit far from airport.

Best Beach Location

This is our 4th time to this resort and it is still the best and longest beach location. Accomodations were great and. grounds always well maintained.Lots of pools to choose from. This was the first time we were disappointed with the food....you won't go hungry but the quality of food was not as good as I remember but they say that covid has changed a lot with these hotels. Did a couple of ala cartes and they were excellent, wish we had booked more.

Enjoyable resort!

Flight was delayed, and not many rooms left when we arrived late Saturday night, but they did accommodate a move on Monday to a great room, and made it relatively painless. Resort was much busier our second visit, Canadian and US spring break back to back, but found a nice secluded area, and met some great people. The property is big enough, you can always find comfort, and something to do.

Amazing resort with lots to offer for everyone

Third time to the Barceló Maya. It never disappoints. We always have the most incredible booking experience with Tripcentral wit the exception of this last time. Sandra Taylor is rude and never gets back to you. I asked her twice for a hotel close to Pearson and never, ever got back to me. I gave up. Then, I called her with questions regarding the Mexico tax and she was rude. Never use this agent. Karol and Wendy Van Z are the best. Highly professional and kind.

Incredible trip

Best hotel I’ve stayed at yet! We stayed in an oceanfront room. Beautiful room, gorgeous grounds- the staff work very hard to make everything perfect. The buffet and a la cartes were delicious and had an amazing assortment of Mexican cuisines- the children’s section had a great assortment as well. I would recommend this resort in an instant.
